1肠道疾病中肠上皮细胞的死亡显示文摘目前,由肠上皮细胞死亡引发的肠损伤仍然是危险且难以预测的严重疾病之一。肠上皮细胞、免疫系统和微生物组之间相互关联以维持正常肠道稳态和肠屏障的完整性。在微生物入侵时,肠上皮细胞进入死亡程序以维持肠上皮功能,并且保持其持续更新能力,维护组织稳态。但是脱离稳态的肠上皮细胞死亡会导致肠通透性增加和肠屏障功能障碍,导致多种急性和慢性肠道疾病,例如肠缺血/再灌注、败血症、炎症性肠病(inflammatory bowel diseases, IBD),坏死性小肠结肠炎(necrotizing enterocolitis, NEC)等。在病理生理状态下,过量的肠上皮细胞凋亡性死亡导致慢性炎症状态,而后转向坏死性凋亡细胞死亡机制,其诱导的病理特征比细胞凋亡的情况下更多,此外还可能诱导其它溶细胞性死亡机制,例如细胞焦亡和铁凋亡,从而增加肠道疾病的病理指征。但是,目前关于慢性肠道疾病中肠上皮细胞死亡机制的研究仍然存在空白。目前亟需对慢性肠道疾病(包括败血症,IBD,NEC和肠缺血/再灌注)中特定的细胞死亡机制进行深入了解,以开发针对此类疾病的新型的有效治疗策略。本文旨在综述肠上皮细胞不同死亡机制(例如细胞凋亡,细胞坏死,坏死性凋亡,细胞焦亡和铁凋亡)在急、慢性肠道疾病中的研究进展。Saravanan Subramanian 耿华 谭小弟 2020生理学报2020,72,3:26
2Relationship between T-lymphocyte cytokine levels and sero-response to hepatitis B vaccines显示文摘AIM: To investigate the cellular defects by analyzing the (Th1/Th2) cytokine levels in vaccine responders and non-responders. METHODS: Peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) from responders and non-responders were stimulated with or with out recombinant HBsAg or PHA. Broad spectrum of cytokines viz (Th1) IFN-γ, IL-2, TNF-α, IL-12 and (Th2) IL-10, IL-4 were measured after in vitro stimulation with recombinant HBsAg and were compared with respective antibody titers. RESULTS: A significant decrease (P = 0.001) in Th1 and Th2 cytokines namely, IL-2, INF-γ, TNF-α and IL-10in non-responders was observed. The level of IL-4 was not significant between the three groups. Furthermore, despite a strong Th1 and Th2 cytokine response, the level of IL-12 was elevated in high-responders compared to other groups (P = 0.001) and demonstrated a positive correlation with anti-HBs titers and Th1 cytokine response. 4Renal sympathetic nervous system and the effects of denervation on renal arteries显示文摘Resistant hypertension is associated with chronic activation of the sympathetic nervous system resulting in various comorbidities. The prevalence of resistant hypertension is often under estimated due to various reasons. Activation of sympathetic nervous system at the renal-as well as systemic-level contributes to the increased level of catecholamines and resulting increase in the blood pressure. This increased activity was demonstrated by increased muscle sympathetic nerve activity and renal and total body noradrenaline spillover. Apart from the hypertension, it is hypothesized to be associated with insulin resistance, congestive heart failure and obstructive sleep apnea. Renal denervation is a novel procedure where the sympathetic afferent and efferent activity is reduced by various techniques and has been used successfully to treat drug-resistant hypertension improvement of various metabolic derangements.Renal denervation has the unique advantage of offering the denervation at the renal level, thus mitigating the systemic side effects. Renal denervation can be done by various techniques including radiofrequency ablation, ultrasound guided ablation and chemical ablation. Various trials evaluated the role of renal denervation in the management of resistant hypertension and have found promising results. More studies are underway to evaluate the role of renal denervation in patients presenting with resistant hypertension in different scenarios. 7Analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities of Passiflora foetida L.显示文摘Objective:To investigate the analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities of ethanol extract of Passiflora foetida(P.foetida) leaves.Methods:Ethanol extract of P.foetida leaf was evaluated for analgesic action by acetic acid-induced writhing and hot plate method in albino mice.The anti-inflammatory property of ethanolic leaf extract was tested by carrageenan induced acute paw edema and histamine induced acute paw edema in rats.Results:The dose 200 mg/kg of P. foetida leaf extract exhibited highest significant analgesic activity[(13.50±0.43) min]at a reaction time of 20 min in hot plate method in mice.The ethanol extract of leaf dose 100 mg/kg produced a highly significant anti inflammatory effect[(1.302±0.079) mL]in rats.Conclusions:It is very clear that P.foetida also has analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities for the pharmaceuticals.Sasikala V Saravanan S Parimelazhagan T 2011Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2011,4,8:7
8Effect of process parameters on microstructural and mechanical properties of Ti.SS 304L explosive cladding显示文摘The present work pertains to the study of microstructure and mechanical properties of explosively cladded commercially pure titanium(cpTi) with austenitic stainless steel(SS 304L) subjected to varied process parameters, viz., loading ratios(mass of explosive or mass of flyer plate) and preset angles. The microstructural study reveals the transformation from straight to wavy interface while increasing loading ratios. Vickers hardness increases with loading ratios, and the maximum hardness is witnessed in the closer proximity of collision interface. Ram tensile and shear strength of explosive claddings are higher than that of parent plates. While the base plate fails in impact test, the flyer plate is deformed, indicating good impact strength. Increased mass of claddings, due to oxide formation, is witnessed in corrosion tests, which confirms the superiority of explosive claddings in corrosive environment. 9Kinetics of phenol and m-cresol biodegradation by an indigenous mixed microbial culture isolated from a sewage treatment plant显示文摘An acclimatized mixed microbial culture,predominantly Pseudomonas sp.,was enriched from a sewage treatment plant,and its potential to simultaneously degrade mixtures of phenol and m-cresol was investigated during its growth in batch shake flasks.A 22 full factorial design with the two substrates at two different levels and different initial concentration ranges(low and high),was employed to carry out the biodegradation experiments.The substrates phenol and m-cresol were completely utilized within 21 h when present at low concentrations of 100 mg/L for each,and at high concentration of 600 mg/L for each,a maximum time of 187 h was observed for their removal.The biodegradation results also showed that the presence of phenol in low concentration range(100–300 mg/L) did not inhibit m-cresol biodegradation.Whereas the presence of m-cresol inhibited phenol biodegradation by the culture.Moreover, irrespective of the concentrations used,phenol was degraded preferentially and earlier than m-cresol.A sum kinetics model was used to describe the variation in the substrate specific degradation rates,which gave a high coeffcient of determination value(R2>0.98)at the low concentration range of the substrates.From the estimated interaction parameter values obtained from this model,the inhibitory effect of phenol on m-cresol degradation by the culture was found to be more pronounced compared to that of m-cresol on phenol.This study showed a good potential of the indigenous mixed culture in degrading mixed substrate of phenolics.Pichiah Saravanan Kannan Pakshirajan Prabirkumar Saha 2008Journal of Environmental Sciences2008,20,12:7

11Coinfection of hepatitis B and hepatitis C virus in HIV-infectedpatients in south India显示文摘AIM: To screen for the co-infection of hepatitis B (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infected patients in southern India. METHODS: Five hundred consecutive HIV infected patients were screened for Hepatitis B Virus (HBsAg and HBV-DNA) and Hepatitis C virus (anti-HCV and HCV-RNA) using commercially available ELISA kits; HBsAg, HBeAg/ anti-HBe (Biorad laboratories, USA) and anti-HCV (Murex Diagnostics, UK). The HBV-DNA PCR was performed to detect the surface antigen region (pre S-S). HCV-RNA was detected by RT-PCR for the detection of the constant 5' putative non-coding region of HCV. RESULTS: HBV co-infection was detected in 45/500 (9%) patients and HCV co-infection in 11/500 (2.2%) subjects. Among the 45 co-infected patients only 40 patients could be studied, where the detection rates of HBe was 55% (22/40), antiHBe was 45% (18/40) and HBV-DNA was 56% (23/40). Among 11 HCV co-infected subjects, 6 (54.5%) were anti-HCV and HCV RNA positive, while 3 (27.2%) were positive for anti-HCV alone and 2 (18%) were positive for HCV RNA alone. CONCLUSION: Since the principal routes for HIV transmission are similar to that followed by the hepatotropic viruses, as a consequence, infections with HBV and HCV are expected in HIV infected patients. 12In vitro antioxidant,antimicrobial and anti-diabetic properties of polyphenols of Passiflora ligularis Juss.fruit pulp显示文摘In the present study,anti-radical,anti-diabetic and antimicrobial activities of different solvent extracts of Passiflora ligularis fruits were investigated.Among the various solvents,acetone extract displayed maximum total phenolic(640.70 mg GAE/g extract),tannin(214.30 mg GAE/g extract)and flavonoid contents(387.33 mg RE/g extract).Results of antioxidant studies revealed that the acetone extract of fruits possessed an efficient 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl-hydrazyl(DPPH•)(IC5019.13g/mL),2,2-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiozoline-6-sulfonic acid)(ABTS•+)(9800.94mol/L trolox equi/g extract),superoxide(78.27%)and nitric oxide(79.95%)radical scavenging activities,ferric reducing antioxidant power(43.06 mmol Fe(II)/mg extract),metal chelating(134.53 mg EDTA/g extract)ability.The acetone extract of P.ligularis fruits also exhibited significant(P<0.005)inhibition activities onα-amylase(82.56%)andα-glucosidase(75.36%)enzymes.Furthermore,the fruits of P.ligularis also demonstrated antibacterial activities against Gram(+)and Gram(−)bacteria and inhibited the fungal strains Candida albicans(14.85 mm)and Aspergillus niger(13.91 mm)in the disc diffusion method.Quantification of polyphenolics by HPLC showed the presence of ellagic acid,gallic acid,and rutin.Therefore,the results indicate that the fruit pulp of P.ligularis can serve as a potential antioxidative and antimicrobial agent in food and pharmaceutical industries.Shanmugam Saravanan Thangaraj Parimelazhagan 2014Food Science and Human Wellness2014,3,2:6

15Comparison of three different recombinant hepatitis B vaccines:GeneVac-B,Engerix B and Shanvac B in high risk infants born to HBsAg positive mothers in India显示文摘AIM: To evaluate a low cost Indian recombinant hepatitis B vaccine GeneVac-B for its immunogenicity and safety in comparison to Engerix B and Shanvac B vaccine in high risk newborn infants born to hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) positive mothers. METHODS: A total of 158 infants were enrolled in the study. Fifty eight infants were enrolled in the GeneVac-B group while 50 each were included for Engerix B and Shanvac B groups. A three-dose regimen of vaccination; at birth (within 24 h of birth), 1st mo and 6 mo. were adopted with 10 μg dosage administered uniformly in all the three groups. Clinical and immunological parameters were assessed for safety and immunogenicity of the vaccines, in all the enrolled infants. RESULTS: Successful follow up until seven months of age was achieved in 83/ (48/58) for GeneVac-B, 76/ (38/50) and 64/ (32/50) for Engerix B and Shanvac B groups respectively. 100/ seroconversion and seroprotection was achieved in all the three groups of infants. The geometric mean titers of anti-HBs one month after the completion of three dose of vaccination were 90.5, 80.9 and 72.5 mIU/mL in GeneVac-B, Engerix B and Shanvac B vaccine group respectively. Furthermore the level of anti-HBs increases with age ofbabies who were born to HBsAg positive mothers. The GMT values of anti-HBs were 226.7, 193.9 and 173.6 mIU/mL respectively in GeneVac-B, Engerix B and Shanvac B groups one year after the completion of the three doses of vaccine. No systemic reactions were reported in infants during the entire vaccination process of GeneVac-B and the other two vaccines. Clinical safety parameters remained within the normal limits throughout the study period.CONCLUSION: The study concludes that there is no significant difference between the three recombinant hepatitis B vaccines. 16珍稀濒危物种格木传粉方式和交配系统的初步研究(英文)显示文摘为研究格木(Erythrophleum fordii Oliv.)的传粉方式和交配系统,在鼎湖山国家级自然保护区对珍稀濒危树种格木进行野外观察,花的微器官(花粉和柱头)用扫描电镜观察,并进行控制授粉实验和遗传分析。结果表明,格木具有颜色亮丽和散发香味的总状花序,格木花粉包被厚重的粘性物质,柱头没有易于捕获花粉的结构,风媒传粉没有坐果,推断格木应该是通过虫媒传播花粉,或者主要是通过虫媒传播。遗传分析和在不同繁殖环境的两棵目标树的坐果情况表明,格木偶尔可以自交产生后代,但异交占据着绝对的优势,鼎湖山格木种群的异交率达到90.6%。格木传粉方式和交配系统的研究有利于对格木进行保护和保育。朱鹏 王峥峰 叶万辉 曹洪麟 Saravanan THAVAMANIKUMAR 2013热带亚热带植物学报2013,21,1:4
17Nanoindentation and Wear Characteristics of Al 5083/SiC_p Nanocomposites Synthesized by High Energy Ball Milling and Spark Plasma Sintering显示文摘Al 5083/10 wt% SiC p nano composites have been synthesized by means of high energy ball milling followed by spark plasma sintering (SPS). Nano composites produced via this method exhibited near-theoretical density while retaining the nano-grained features. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis indicated that the crystalline size of the ball milled Al 5083 matrix was observed to be ~25 nm and it was coarsened up to ~30 nm after SPS. Nano indentation results of nano composites demonstrated a high hardness of ~280 HV with an elastic modulus of 126 GPa. Wear and friction characteristics with addition of SiC p reinforcement exhibited significant improvement in terms of coefficient of friction and specific wear rate to that of nano structured Al 5083 alloy. 18Alphabet Strategy for diabetes care: A multi-professional, evidence-based, outcome-directed approach to management显示文摘With the rising global prevalence in diabetes, healthcare systems are facing a growing challenge to provide efficient and effective diabetes care management in the face of spiralling treatment costs. Diabetes is a major cause of premature mortality and associated with devastating complications especially if managed poorly. Although diabetes care is improving in England and Wales, recent audit data suggests care remains imperfect with wide geographical variations in quality. Diabetes care is expensive with a sizeable amount of available expenditure used for treating the complications of diabetes. A target driven, long-term, multifactorial intervention in patients with type 2 diabetes has been shown to reduce mortality and morbidity.
