| 1 | Rice Bran Oil: Emerging Trends in Extraction, Health Benefit, and Its Industrial Application显示文摘Rice bran oil(RBO)is unique among edible vegetable oils because of its unique fatty acid composition,phenolic compound(γ-oryzanol,ferulic acid)and vitamin E(tocopherol and tocotrienol).It has become a great choice of cooking oil because of its very high burning point,neutral taste and delicate flavour.Non-conventional methods of RBO extraction are more efficient and environmentally friendly than conventional extraction methods.Advances in RBO extraction using innovative extraction strategies like super/sub-critical CO_(2),microwave-assisted,subcritical H_(2)O,enzyme-assisted aqueous and ultrasoundassisted aqueous extraction methods have proven to significantly improve the yields along with improved nutritional profile of RBO.The compositions and strategies for stabilization of RBO are well discussed.The constituents are present in the RBO contribute to antioxidative,anti-inflammatory,antimicrobial,antidiabetic and anti-cancerous properties to RBO.This has helped RBO to become an important substrate for the application in food(cooking oil,milk product and meat product)and non-food industries(polymer,lubricant,biofuel,structural lipid and cosmetic).This review provided comprehensive information on RBO extraction methods,oil stabilization,existing applications and health benefits. | Sneh PUNIA Manoj KUMAR Anil Kumar SIROHA Sukhvinder Singh PUREWAL | 2021 | Rice science2021,28,3: | 8 |
| 2 | Heat and mass transfer effects on MHD viscoelastic fluid over a stretching sheet through porous medium in presence of chemical reaction显示文摘An attempt has been made to study the heat and mass transfcr effects in a boundary layer flow through porous medtium of an electrically conducting viscoelastic fluid subject to transverse magnetic field in the presence of heat sourcelsink and chemical reaction.It has been considered the effects of radliation,viscous and Joule dissipations and intemal heat generation/absorption.Closed form solutions for the boundary layer equations of viscoelastic,second-grxle and Walters'B’fluid models are obtained.The method of solution involves similarity transformation.The ransfommed equations of thermal and mass transport are solved by applying Kummer's function.The solutions of temperature field for both prescribed surface temperature(PST)as well as prescribed surface heat flux(PHF)are obtained.It is important to remark that the interaction of magnetic field is found to be counterproductive in enhancing velocity and concentration distibution whereas the presence of chemical reaction as well as porous matrix with moderate values of magnetic parameter reduces the temperature and concentration fields at all points of flow domain. | Manoj Kumar Nayak Gauranga Charan Dash Lambodar Prased Singh | 2016 | Propulsion and Power Research2016,5,1: | 4 |
| 3 | CDEX-1 1 kg point-contact germanium detector for low mass dark matter searches显示文摘The CDEX collaboration has been established for direct detection of light dark matter particles, using ultra-low energy threshold point-contact p-type germanium detectors, in China JinPing underground Laboratory(CJPL). The first 1 kg point-contact germanium detector with a sub-keV energy threshold has been tested in a passive shielding system located in CJPL. The outputs from both the point-contact P + electrode and the outside N + electrode make it possible to scan the lower energy range of less than 1 keV and at the same time to detect the higher energy range up to 3 MeV. The outputs from both P + and N + electrode may also provide a more powerful method for signal discrimination for dark matter experiment. Some key parameters, including energy resolution, dead time, decay times of internal X-rays, and system stability, have been tested and measured. The results show that the 1 kg point-contact germanium detector, together with its shielding system and electronics, can run smoothly with good performances. | 4 | First results on ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay from CDEX-1 experiment显示文摘We report the first results on ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay from stage one of the China dark-matter experiment(CDEX).A p-type point-contact high-purity germanium detector with a mass of 994 g has been installed to detect neutrinoless double beta decay events, as well as to directly detect dark matter particles. An exposure of 304 kg d has been analyzed over a wide spectral band from 500 keV to 3 MeV. The average event rate obtained was about 0.012 counts per keV per kg per day over the 2.039 MeV energy range. The half-life of ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay derived based on this result is T^(0ν)1/2>6.4×10^(22) yr(90% C.L.). | 6 | Transition from open to robotic assisted liver resection:A retrospective comparative study.Is experience of laparoscopic liver resections needed?显示文摘Objective:The authors present outcomes of robotic liver resections in comparison with open technique questioning the need to have experience of laparoscopy for such procedures before transition to robotic assisted.Materials and methods:Retrospective review of liver resections done robotically from February 2015 to June 2017 compared to matched control cohort of open cases from January 2012 to December 2016.Results:Twenty-one patients in the study groupwere comparedwithmatched control of 42 open cases(1:2 ratio).The types of procedure were similar in both the groups.There were 4 left lateral hepatectomy,3 left hepatectomy,and 1 left hepatectomy with hepatico-jejunostomy,3 right hepatectomy,3 right posterior sectorectomy,4 bisegmentectomy and 4 mono-segmentectomy.There were 9 patients with primary liver cancer,2 each with livermetastasis and carcinoma gall bladder and 8 patients had benign liver disease.Mean blood losswas 370±311ml in the robotic group compared to 451±330ml in control group(p=0.06).Minor complications developed in 19.0%of robotic cases compared to 40.5%in open surgery,while major complications occurred in 4.7%of robotic cases compared to 7.1%of open cases.Mean hospital staywas 5.3±0.8 days for the robotic group and 7.7±4.2 days for open group(p=0.02).Local tumor recurrence occurred in 1 out of 13 resections done for malignancy in the robotic group and 7 out of 26 in the open group.Conclusion:This study highlights the utility of surgical robots for segmental and complex liver resections with equivalent outcomes and decreased length of hospital stay compared to open surgery without having experience of same with the laparoscopy. | Sanjay Goja Sanjay Kumar Yadav Rohan Jagat Chaudhary Manoj Kumar Singh Arvinder Singh Soin | 2019 | Laparoscopic, Endoscopic and Robotic Surgery2019,2,4: | 2 |
| 7 | Information hiding with adaptive steganography based on novel fuzzy edge identification显示文摘The evolution in communication techniques has created wide threats for crucial information transfer through a communication channel. Covert communication with steganography is a skill of concealing secret information within cover object and hence shields the data theft over rapidly growing network.Recently, diverse steganography techniques using edge identification have been proposed in literature.Numerous methods however utilize certain pixels in the cover image for inserting edge information,resulting in significant deformation. The conventional edge detection method limits the deployment of edge detection in steganography as concealing the information would introduce some variations to the cover image. Hence inserting data in pixel areas recognized by existing conventional edge detection techniques like canny cannot ensure the recognition of the exact edge locations for the cover and stego images. In this paper, an Adaptive steganography method based on novel fuzzy edge identification is proposed. The method proposed is proficient of estimating the precise edge areas of a cover image and also ensures the exact edge location after embedding the secret message.
