| 1 | Studies on the management of root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita-wilt fungus, Fusarium oxysporum disease complex of green gram, Vigna radiata cv ML-1108显示文摘Studies were conducted under pot conditions to determine the comparative efficacy of carbofuran at 1 mg a.i./kg soil, bavistin at 1 mg a.i./kg soil, neem (Azadirachta indica) seed powder at 50 mg/kg soil, green mould (Trichoderma harzianum) at 50.0 ml/kg soil, rhizobacteria (Pseudomonas fluorescens) at 50.0 ml/kg soil against root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incog-nita–wilt fungus, Fusarium oxysporum disease complex on green gram, Vigna radiata cv ML-1108. All the treatments significantly improved the growth of the plants as compared to untreated inoculated plants. Analysis of data showed that carbofuran and A. indica seed powder increased plant growth and yield significantly more in comparison to bavistin and P. fluorescens. | 5 | Myanmar-Andaman-Sumatra Subduction Margin Revisited:Insights of Arc-Specific Deformations显示文摘We address the role of the concave and convex arcs(as observed from the subducting plate)on the deformation occurring along the Myanmar-Andaman-Sumatra margin.We categorize the pre-and post-seismic deformations of the lithosphere using earthquake database occurring either prior to 26th December 2004 M_w 9.3 off-Sumatra mega-event or after the incidence.Analysis under pre-seismic domain shows that area near Sumatra records highest seismicity,which largely drops in the area past the North Andaman,and further increases towards north.Shallowest depth and minimum dip of the subducting lithosphere is recorded at the central segment where the arc transformed into concave shape.The annual moment energy release during earthquake decreases to more than two orders of magnitude past the North Andaman towards north under post-seismic deformation phase.Higher depths of continuity of events are presumably associated with more dipping Benioff zones in both the Indo-Myanmar and Andaman-Nicobar convex arcs.These observations obviously account for tectonic subdivision of the margin near concave shape arc around the central part.Absence of volcanism,presence of splay faults in the back-arc,sharp reduction in seismicity near central segment are interpreted to be caused by major tectonic impact of the NNE-ward converging buoyant Ninety-east Ridge against the Asian Plate.Shallowest dip,small elastic thickness,weak converging Indian lithosphere,and evidences of series of en-echelon blocks off the eastern side of the broken northern Ninetyeast Ridge might be incapable of generating great earthquake in this area. | Prosanta Kumar Khan Sk Shamim Manoranjan Mohanty Prabhat Kumar Jayashree Banerjee | 2017 | Journal of Earth Science2017,28,4: | 4 |
| 6 | Dynamic analysis and identification of unbalance and misalignment in a rigid rotor with two offset discs levitated by active magnetic bearings:a novel trial misalignment approach显示文摘Rotating machinery is an essential and crucial component of numerous mechanical systems in modern industries,transport vehicles,and in several other applications.Excessive vibrations on rotating equipment due to multiple faults may cause catastrophic failure in machines and lead to hazardous accidents.So,there is a need for perceiving the dynamic nature and identifying the faults for the safe,smooth and effective operation of machines.This paper proposes a novel trial misalignment approach to estimate the misalignment with a similar concept as the trial unbalance in the rotor balancing.Active magnetic bearing(AMB)misalignment with the rotor has been investigated with residual misalignment and additional trial misalignment cases.Additional trial misalignments are provided in addition to the unknown misalignments of the residual misalignment case.For the execution of this methodology,the dynamic model of a four-degree-of-freedom unbalanced and misaligned rigid rotor with two offset discs supported by two active magnetic bearings has been mathematically developed.The offset discs result in the gyroscopic effect at high rotor speeds.Equations of motion of the rotor-AMB system have been derived and solved to generate the time domain rotor displacement and controlling current responses at AMB positions.A fast Fourier transform technique has been utilized to convert the time domain responses into the frequency domain for estimation of unbalance eccentricities and phases together with force-displacement and forcecurrent stiffnesses of misaligned AMBs as well as AMB's constant forces using the developed identification algorithm.Identified values of AMB's parameters for both residual and additional trial misalignment cases are evaluated to estimate the four unknown misalignments.Testing of the algorithm has also been carried out at multiple spin speeds against measurement signal noise in rotor responses and bias errors in rotor system parameters to check its effectiveness and robustness.The algorithm is found to be exhibiting excellent. | Prabhat Kumar Rajiv Tiwari | 2021 | Propulsion and Power Research2021,10,1: | 3 |
| 7 | Extraction of locked-up coal by strengthening of rib pillars with FRP--A comparative study through numerical modelling显示文摘In some of the coalfields in India, coal seams are only developed but no extraction of pillars is possible due to the presence of surface or sub-surface structures and also non-availability of stowing materials which leads to huge amounts of coal being locked-up underground. Spontaneous heating and fire, accumulation of poisonous gases, severe stability issues leading to unsafe workings and environmental hazards are the major problems associated with the developed coal pillars. So, there is a pressing need for a technology for the mining industry to extract the huge amount of coal locked-up under different constraints. In this study, the locked-up coal is proposed to be extracted by artificially strengthening the rib pillars. The detailed comparative study is carried out to know the increase of extraction percentage of locked-up coal by strengthening the rib pillars with FRP. As formed, the BS substrate directly acts as a reducing template to grow silver hierarchical nano-structures.Particularly, Ag-BS composite micro/nano-structures can be in-situ constructed in silicon-based microchannels.These structures simultaneously serve as integrated catalytic reactors and a SERS substrate for sensing. | 13 | COVID-19 and gut immunomodulation显示文摘The disease coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is a severe respiratory illness that has emerged as a devastating health problem worldwide.The disease outcome is heterogeneous,and severity is likely dependent on the immunity of infected individuals and comorbidities.Although symptoms of the disease are primarily associated with respiratory problems,additional infection or failure of other vital organs are being reported.Emerging reports suggest a quite common co-existence of gastrointestinal(GI)tract symptoms in addition to respiratory symptoms in many COVID-19 patients,and some patients show just the GI symptoms.The possible cause of the GI symptoms could be due to direct infection of the epithelial cells of the gut,which is supported by the fact that(1)The intestinal epithelium expresses a high level of angiotensin-converting enzyme-2 and transmembrane protease serine 2 protein that are required for the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)entry into the cells;(2)About half of the severe COVID-19 patients show viral RNA in their feces and various parts of the GI tract;and(3)SARS-CoV-2 can directly infect gut epithelial cells in vitro(gut epithelial cells and organoids)and in vivo(rhesus monkey).The GI tract seems to be a site of active innate and adaptive immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 as clinically,stool samples of COVID-19 patients possess proinflammatory cytokines(interleukin 8),calprotectin(neutrophils activity),and immunoglobulin A antibodies.In addition to direct immune activation by the virus,impairment of GI epithelium integrity can evoke immune response under the influence of systemic cytokines,hypoxia,and changes in gut microbiota(dysbiosis)due to infection of the respiratory system,which is confirmed by the observation that not all of the GI symptomatic patients are viral RNA positive.This review comprehensively summarizes the possible GI immunomodulation by SARS-CoV-2 that could lead to GI symptoms,their association with disease severity,and potential therapeutic interventions. | Koushik Roy Sidra Agarwal Rajib Banerjee Manash K Paul Prabhat K Purbey | 2021 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2021,27,46: | 2 |
| 14 | Ergodic sum rate for uplink NOMA transmission in satellite-aerial-ground integrated networks显示文摘The application of Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access(NOMA) technology into satelliteaerial-ground integrated networks can meet the requirements of ultra-high rate and massive connectivity for the Sixth-Generation(6G) communication systems. We consider an uplink NOMA scenario for such a satellite-aerial-ground integrated network where multiple users communicate with satellite under the help of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) as an aerial relay equipped with a phased array. Supposing that buffer-aided decode-and-forward protocol is adopted at the UAV relay, we first formulate an optimization problem to maximize Ergodic Sum Rate(ESR) of the considered system subject to individual power constraint and quality-of-service constraint of each user.Then, with known imperfect channel state information of each user, we propose a joint power allocation and robust Beam Forming(BF) iterative algorithm to maximize ESR for the user-to-UAV link. Besides, to take the advantages of Free-Space Optical(FSO) and millimeter Wave(mmWave)communications, we present a switch-based hybrid FSO/mmWave scheme and a robust BF algorithm for the UAV-to-satellite link to achieve higher rate. Moreover, a closed-form ESR expression is derived.
