| 1 | 3D printing of bone tissue engineering scaffolds显示文摘Tissue engineering is promising in realizing successful treatments of human body tissue loss that current methods cannot treat well or achieve satisfactory clinical outcomes.In scaffold-based bone tissue engineering,a high performance scaffold underpins the success of a bone tissue engineering strategy and a major direction in the field is to produce bone tissue engineering scaffolds with desirable shape,structural,physical,chemical and biological features for enhanced biological performance and for regenerating complex bone tissues.Three-dimensional(3D)printing can produce customized scaffolds that are highly desirable for bone tissue engineering.The enormous interest in 3D printing and 3D printed objects by the science,engineering and medical communities has led to various developments of the 3D printing technology and wide investigations of 3D printed products in many industries,including biomedical engineering,over the past decade.It is now possible to create novel bone tissue engineering scaffolds with customized shape,architecture,favorable macro-micro structure,wettability,mechanical strength and cellular responses.This article provides a concise review of recent advances in the R&D of 3D printing of bone tissue engineering scaffolds.It also presents our philosophy and research in the designing and fabrication of bone tissue engineering scaffolds through 3D printing. | Chong Wang Wei Huang Yu Zhou Libing He Zhi He Ziling Chen Xiao He Shuo Tian Jiaming Liao Bingheng Lu Yen Wei Min Wang | 2020 | Bioactive Materials2020,5,1: | 20 |
| 2 | Antioxidant effects of the orientin and vitexin in Trollius chinensis Bunge in D-galactose-aged mice显示文摘Total flavonoids are the main pharmaceutical components of Trollius chinensis Bunge, and orientin and vitexin are the monomer components of total flavonoids in Trollius chinensis Bunge. In this study, an aged mouse model was established through intraperitoneal injection of D-galactose for 8 weeks, followed by treatment with 40, 20, or 10 mg/kg orientin, vitexin, or a positive control (vitamin E) via intragastric administration for an additional 8 weeks. Orientin, vitexin, and vitamin E improved the general medical status of the aging mice and significantly increased their brain weights. They also produced an obvious rise in total antioxidant capacity, superoxide dismutase, catalase, and glutathione peroxidase levels in the serum, and the levels of superoxide dismutase, catalase and glutathione peroxidase, Na+-K+-ATP enzyme, and Ca2+-Mg2+-ATP enzyme in the liver, brain and kidneys. In addition, they significantly reduced malondialdehyde levels in the liver, brain and kidney and lipofuscin levels in the brain. They also significantly improved the neuronal ultrastructure. The 40 mg/kg dose of orientin and vitexin had the same antioxidant capacity as vitamin E. | 4 | Mesenteric lymph reperfusion may exacerbate brain injury in a rat model of superior mesenteric artery occlusion shock显示文摘BACKGROUND:The intestinal lymphatic pathway and intestinal ischemia/reperfusion are mainly involved in mesenteric lymph duct ligation or drainage;moreover,intervention by reducing the lymph liquid reflux might relieve lung and other organ dysfunction induced by intestinal ischemia/reperfusion;however,research addressing mesenteric lymph reperfusion (MLR) and brain injury has not yet to be reported.OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of MLR on brain tissue in a rat model of superior mesenteric artery occlusion (SMAO) shock,and to explore the molecular mechanism of MLR.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:A randomized,controlled,animal experiment at a neuro-pathophysiology level was performed at the Institute of Microcirculation,Hebei North University;Department of Pathophysiology,Basic Medical College;Department of Pathology,the First Hospital of Hebei North University between December 2007 and March 2009.MATERIALS:Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) standard was provided by the National Institute for the Control of Pharmaceutical and Biological Products;lactic acid (LA),superoxide dismutase (SOD),malonaldehyde (MDA),nitrogen monoxidum (NO),nitric oxide synthase (NOS),myeloperoxidase (MPO) and ATPase assay kits were provided by Nanjing Jiancheng Bioengineering Institute,China.METHODS:A total of 24 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups.In the sham-surgery group (n=6),both the mesenteric lymph duct and the superior mesenteric artery were not blocked;in the MLR group (n=6),the mesenteric lymph duct was occluded for 1 hour followed by 2-hour reperfusion;in the SMAO group (n=6),the superior mesenteric artery was occluded for 1 hour followed by 2-hour reperfusion;in the MLR + SMAO group (n=6),both the mesenteric lymph duct and superior mesenteric artery were occluded for 1 hour followed by 2-hour reperfusion.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Mean arterial blood pressure prior to and following ischemia/reperfusion;brain tissue morphology levels of LA,MDA,SOD,NO,NOS,MPO,ATPase and ATP following reperfusion.RESULTS:MLR did not cause changes in mean arterial blood pressure,brain tissue morphology,LA,MDA,NO,ATP,SOD,NOS,MPO and ATPase.However,SMAO caused a rapid decrease and gradual increase of mean arterial blood pressure.Neuronal necrosis,degeneration and swelling were observed in brain tissue.Contents of MDA,NO,LA and ATP as well as activities of NOS and MPO were significantly increased (P < 0.05),but activities of SOD and Na+-K+-ATPase were significantly decreased (P < 0.05).MLR aggravated neuronal damage in a rat model of SMAO shock.Following MLR,mean arterial blood pressure was significantly decreased (P < 0.05),contents of MDA and NO as well as activities of NOS and MPO were significantly increased (P < 0.05),but activities of Ca2+-ATPase,Mg2+-ATPase and Ca2+-Mg2+-ATPase as well as ATP content were significantly decreased (P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:MLR aggravates brain injury in a rat model of SMAO shock,which correlates with oxygen-derived free radical injury,NO synthesis and release,sequestration of neutrophilic granulocytes,decreasing activity of cell membrane pumps and energy metabolism dysfunction.Pathogenesis of the intestinal lymphatic pathway should be thoroughly investigated to prevent ischemia/reperfusion injury. | Zigang Zhao Chunyu Niu Aimin Shang Jiaming Tian Rui Han Chunhui Zhang Yuping Zhang Jing Zhang | 2010 | Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,9: | 7 |

| 8 | A novel scheme for ultrashort terahertz pulse generation over a gapless wide spectral range:Raman-resonance-enhanced four-wave mixing显示文摘Ultrashort energetic terahertz(THz)pulses have created an exciting new area of research on light interactions with matter.For material studies in small laboratories,widely tunable femtosecond THz pulses with peak field strength close to MV cm-1 are desired.Currently,they can be largely acquired by optical rectification and difference frequency generation in crystals without inversion symmetry.We describe in this paper a novel scheme of THz pulse generation with no frequency tuning gap based on Raman-resonance-enhanced four-wave mixing in centrosymmetric media,particularly diamond.We show that we could generate highly stable,few-cycle pulses with near-Gaussian spatial and temporal profiles and carrier frequency tunable from 5 to>2o THz.They had a stable and controllable carrier-envelop phase and carried~15 nJ energy per pulse at 10 THz(with a peak field strength of~1 MV cm^(-1)at focus)from a O.5-mm-thick diamond.The measured THz pulse characteristics agreed well with theoretical predictions.Other merits of the scheme are discussed,including the possibility of improving the THz output energy to a much higher level. | Jiaming Le Yudan Su Chuanshan Tian A.H.Kung Y.Ron Shen | 2023 | Light(Science & Applications)2023,12,2: | 2 |
| 9 | Potential therapeutic effects and applications of Eucommiae Folium in secondary hypertension显示文摘Eucommiae Folium(EF),a traditional Chinese medicine,has been used to treat secondary hypertension,including renal hypertension and salt-sensitive hypertension,as well as hypertension caused by thoracic aortic endothelial dysfunction,a high-fat diet,and oxidized low-density lipoprotein.The antihypertensive components of EF are divided into four categories:flavonoids,iridoids,lignans,and phenylpropanoids,such as chlorogenic acid,geniposide acid and pinoresinol diglucoside.EF regulates the occurrence and development of hypertension by regulating biological processes,such as inhibiting inflammation,regulating the nitric oxide synthase pathway,reducing oxidative stress levels,regulating endothelial vasoactive factors,and lowering blood pressure.However,its molecular antihypertensive mechanisms are still unclear and require further investigation.In this review,by consulting the relevant literature on the antihypertensive effects of EF and using network pharmacology,we summarized the active ingredients and pharmacological mechanisms of EF in the treatment of hypertension to clarify how EF is associated with secondary hypertension,the related components,and underlying mechanisms.The results of the network pharmacology analysis indicated that EF treats hypertension through a multicomponent,multi-target and multi-pathway mechanism.In particular,we discussed the role of EF targets in the treatment of hypertension,including epithelial sodium channel,heat shock protein70,rhoassociated protein kinase 1,catalase,and superoxide dismutase.The relevant signal transduction pathways,the ras homolog family member A(RhoA)/Rho-associated protein kinase(ROCK)and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate(NADPH)oxidase/eNOS/NO/Ca^(2+)pathways,are also discussed. | Mengyuan Li Yanchao Zheng Sha Deng Tian Yu Yucong Ma Jiaming Ge Jiarong Li Xiankuan Li Lin Ma | 2022 | Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2022,12,5: | 2 |
| 10 | Influence of mesenteric lymph reperfusion on neurotransmitter expression in brain tissue of a superior mesenteric artery occlusion shock rat model显示文摘BACKGROUND: Previous studies have shown that mesenteric lymph reperfusion (MLR) exacerbates brain injury in a rat model of superior mesenteric artery occlusion (SMAO) shock. However, little is known about the influence of MLR on neurotransmitter expression in brain tissue. OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of MLR on brain tissue injury by measuring monoamine and cholinergic neurotransmitter levels. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A randomized, controlled, animal experiment was performed at the Institute of Microcirculation, Hebei North University, China; Research Room of Microcirculation and Laboratory of Biochemistry, Department of Pathophysiology, Basic Medical College, Hebei North University between December 2007 and March 2009. MATERIALS: Choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) and acetylcholine esterase (AChE) kits were provided by Nanjing Jiancheng Bioengineering Institute, China; dopamine (DA) and noradrenalin (NE) standards were provided by the National Institute for the Control of Pharmaceutical and Biological Products; HP1100 chromatograph of liquid was provided by Agilent, USA. METHODS: A total of 24 male, Wistar rats were randomly assigned to 4 groups: sham-surgery, MLR, SMAO, and MLR + SMAO groups, with 6 rats in each group. In the MLR or SMAO groups, the mesenteric lymph duct or superior mesenteric artery was blocked for 1 hour. In the MLR + SMAO group, the mesenteric lymph duct and superior mesenteric artery were occluded for 1 hour, followed by 2-hour reperfusion. ChAT and AChE levels were measured using the synthesized and hydrolyzed acetylcholine method, respectively. Liquid chromatography was employed to quantitatively analyze DA and NE levels, using relative retention time and the external standard method. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ChAT, AChE, DA, and NE levels. RESULTS: AChE levels were significantly increased, but ChAT levels were significantly decreased in the MLR and MLR + SMAO groups following 2-hour reperfusion (P < 0.01). However, AChE activity in the MLR + SMAO group was greater than in the MLR group (P < 0.05). DA and NE levels were significantly decreased in the SMAO and MLR + SMAO groups (P < 0.01), while DA levels in the MLR + SMAO group were less than in the SMAO group (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: MLR exacerbated brain injury in a rat model of SMAO shock, which correlated with the intestinal lymphatic pathway. | 19 | A large-area bionic skin for high-temperature energy harvesting applications显示文摘For the large amount of waste heat wasted in daily life and industrial production,we propose a new type of flexible thermoelectric generators(F-TEGs)which can be used as a large area bionic skin to achieve energy harvesting of thermal energy.With reference to biological structures such as pinecone,succulent,and feathers,we have designed and fabricated a biomimetic flexible TEG that can be applied in a wide temperature range which has the highest temperature energy harvesting capability currently.The laminated free structure of the bionic F-TEG dramatically increases the efficiency and density of energy harvesting.The F-TEGs(single TEG only 101.2 mg in weight),without an additional heat sink,demonstrates the highest output voltage density of 286.1 mV/cm^(2)and the maximum power density is 66.5 mW/m^(2) at a temperature difference of nearly 1000℃.The flexible characteristics of F-TEGs make it possible to collect the diffused thermal energy by flexible attachment to the outer walls of high-temperature pipes and vessels of different diameters and shapes.This work shows a new design and application concept for flexible thermal energy collectors,which fills the gap of flexible energy harvesting in high-temperature environment. | Zhaojun Liu Bian Tian Yao Li Jiaming Lei Zhongkai Zhang Jiangjiang Liu Qijing Lin Chengkuo Lee Zhuangde Jiang | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,7: | 0 |
| 20 | Highly sensitive flexible heat flux sensor based on a microhole array for ultralow to high temperatures显示文摘With the growing demand for thermal management of electronic devices,cooling of high-precision instruments,and biological cryopreservation,heat flux measurement of complex surfaces and at ultralow temperatures has become highly imperative.However,current heat flux sensors(HFSs)are commonly used in high-temperature scenarios and have problems when applied in low-temperature conditions,such as low sensitivity and embrittlement.In this study,we developed a flexible and highly sensitive HFS that can operate at ultralow to high temperatures,ranging from−196°C to 273°C.The sensitivities of HFSs with thicknesses of 0.2 mm and 0.3 mm,which are efficiently manufactured by the screen-printing method,reach 11.21μV/(W/m2)and 13.43μV/(W/m2),respectively.The experimental results show that there is a less than 3%resistance change from bending to stretching.Additionally,the HFS can measure heat flux in both exothermic and absorptive cases and can measure heat flux up to 25 kW/m2.Additionally,we demonstrate the application of the HFS to the measurement of minuscule heat flux,such as heat dissipation of human skin and cold water.This technology is expected to be used in heat flux measurements at ultralow temperatures or on complex surfaces,which has great importance in the superconductor and cryobiology field. | Le Li Bian Tian Zhongkai Zhang Meng Shi Jiangjiang Liu Zhaojun Liu Jiaming Lei Shuimin Li Qijing Lin Libo Zhao Zhuangde Jiang | 2023 | Microsystems & Nanoengineering2023,9,5: | 0 |
