1Optimization of N18 Zirconium Alloy for Fuel Cladding of Water Reactors显示文摘In order to optimize the microstructure and composition of N18 zirconium alloy(Zr-1Sn-0.35Nb-0.35Fe-0.1Cr,in mass fraction,%),which was developed in China in 1990s,the effect of microstructure and composition variation on the corrosion resistance of the N18 alloy has been investigated.The autoclave corrosion tests were carried out in super heated steam at 400 ℃/10.3 MPa,in deionized water or lithiated water with 0.01 mol/L LiOH at 360 ℃/18.6 MPa.The exposure time lasted for 300-550 days according to the test temperature.The results show that the microstructure with a fine and uniform distribution of second phase particles(SPPs),and the decrease of Sn content from 1%(in mass fraction,the same as follows) to 0.8% are of benefit to improving the corrosion resistance;It is detrimental to the corrosion resistance if no Cr addition.The addition of Nb content with upper limit(0.35%) is beneficial to improving the corrosion resistance.The addition of Cu less than 0.1% shows no remarkable influence upon the corrosion resistance for N18 alloy.Comparing the corrosion resistance of the optimized N18 with other commercial zirconium alloys,such as Zircaloy-4,ZIRLO,E635 and E110,the former shows superior corrosion resistance in all autoclave testing conditions mentioned above.Although the data of the corrosion resistance as fuel cladding for high burn-up has not been obtained yet,it is believed that the optimized N18 alloy is promising for the candidate of fuel cladding materials as high burn-up fuel assemblies.Based on the theory that the microstructural evolution of oxide layer during corrosion process will affect the corrosion resistance of zirconium alloys,the improvement of corrosion resistance of the N18 alloy by obtaining the microstructure with nano-size and uniform distribution of SPPs,and by decreasing the content of Sn and maintaining the content of Cr is discussed.B.X. 3MICROWAVE PERMEABILITY SPECTRA OF SPUTTERED Fe-Co-B SOFT MAGNETIC THIN FILMS显示文摘Permeability characteristics of sputtered soft magnetic Fe40Co40B20 thin films are investigated in the range of 0.5 to 5 GHz by a shortened microstrip transmission line perturbation method. Excellent microwave permeability is achieved at 0.4 Pa argon pressure: fr is 3.32 GHz, the real and imaginary part of permeability at 0.5 GHz are 104 and 61, respectively. In addition, the thickness effect on permeability is also studied. The minimum damping can be achieved at the thinnest film. Different sources contributed to in-plane anisotropy are discussed briefly. 4IN SITU PROCESSING OF Al_(2)O_(3) WHISKERS REINFORCED Ti-Al INTERMETALLIC COMPOSITES显示文摘In situ Al2O3 whiskers reinforced Ti-Al intermetallic composites were fabricated at ~1200℃ by reaction sintering of cold-consolidated fllets consisting mainly of Ti, Al, and different additives. The phases and microstructures of the sintered composites were characterized using X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) coupled with energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS). The process of synthesis was investigated using differential thermal analysis (DTA). The effects of processing parameters and additives on the microstructures of the composites and the development of whisker were examined. 5EFFECT OF Si ON THE MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF THE Al-4.5%Cu ALLOYS显示文摘The effect of Si on the microstructure and mechanical properties of binary Al-4.5%Cu alloy has been investigated. The results show that the addition of Si does not have any effect on alloy strength; however, it decreases the ductility of the as-cast Al-4.5%Cu alloy. It is obvious that after T4 heat treatment, the microstructure and mechanical properties of Al-4.5%Cu-Si alloys are improved, especially for the alloy with an Si addition of 2%.N. Han, X.F. 8SIMULATION OF THE CHANGE OF SINTERING NECK BETWEEN TWO GRAINS IN TWO DIMENSIONS显示文摘A modified two-sphere model of sintering neck has been proposed, wherein three diffusion mechanisms including surface diffusion, grain-boundary diffusion and coupled surface and grain-boundary diffusion are assumed. Sintering neck is appropriately simulated using the modified model. The dynamic change of sintering neck is presented using the simulation. The variational shape of sintering neck in surface diffusion mechanism is continuous, whereas in grain-boundary diffusion mechanism, besides the variational shape of sintering neck being continuous, the center distance between the particles is also assumed to contract. 10DIFFERENTIAL SCANNING CALORIMETRY AND X-RAY DIFFRACTION STUDIES ON AGING BEHAVIOR OF Zn-Al ALLOYS显示文摘Decomposition processes of the quenched Zn-Al alloys were studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction(XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results show that the stabilities of supersaturated solid solution (SSS) of Zn-Al alloy and α’ phase formed by quenching would reduce with increasing Zn content and precipitating ηZn phases even when aging at ambient temperature, so that exothermic precipitation peak in DSC curse would disappear. The activation enengy of the ηZn precipitation and their reaction enthalpy were calculated and measured. The kinetics of α’ decomposition or η-Zn formation was determined by XRD.
