Experimental results show that the segregation of liquid occurs when the semi-solid slurry is rolled, which influences the microstructure and mechanics performance of workpiece under room temperature. The globular solid particles don’t present plastic deformation unless high solid fraction. | 2 | TENSILE STRENGTH AND CREEP RESISTANCE OF Mg-9Al-1Zn BASED ALLOYS WITH CALCIUM ADDITION显示文摘Small amount of calcium addition to the Mg-9A1-0.8Zn-0.2Mn (AZ91) alloy resulted in the obvious influence on mechanical properties. The yield strength of the alloys increased with the increase of Ca addition and maximum strength was obtained from the alloy containing 0.15% of Ca. The creep resistance at the temperatures between 150-200℃ was also significantly increased with Ca addition. The creep rate (at 200℃, 50MPa) of the alloy with00.15% of Ca addition was one order of magnitude lower than that of the base alloy (AZ91). Microstructural observations revealed that the addition of calcium refined the microstructure and enhanced the thermal stability of the β precipitates, which accounted for the improvement of creep resistance at high temperatures. | Y.S. | 3 | THE APPARENT VISCOSITY OF SEMI-SOLID AZ91D ALLOY AT STEADY STATE显示文摘The Rheological behavior of semi-solid AZ91D at steady state is studied using a Couettetype viscometer in the present paper. The results show that the apparent viscosity ofsemi-solid AZ91D at the steady state increases with the solid fraction increasing, andgoes up sharply when the solid fraction reaches a certain value, which is called criticalfraction. In addition, the apparent viscosity of semi-solid AZ91D at the steady statetakes on a distinct downtrend with the shearing rate increasing, which indicates astrong shear thinning property. | 4 | Climate Changes in the 21st Century over the Asia-Pacific Region Simulated by the NCAR CSM and PCM显示文摘The Climate System Model (CSM) and the Parallel Climate Model (PCM), two coupled global climate models without flux adjustments recently developed at NCAR, were used to simulate the 20th century climate using historical greenhouse gas and sulfate aerosol forcing. These simulations were extended through the 21st century under two newly developed scenarios, a business-as-usual case (BAU, CO2≈710 ppmv in 2100) and a CO2 stabilization case (STA550, CO2≈540 ppmv in 2100). The simulated changes in temperature, precipitation, and soil moisture over the Asia-Pacific region (10°-60°N, 55°-155°) are analyzed, with a focus on the East Asian summer monsoon rainfall and climate changes over the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. Under the BAU scenario, both the models produce surface warming of about 3-5℃ in winter and 2-3℃ in summer over most Asia. Under the STA550 scenario, the warming is reduced by 0.5-1.0℃ in winter and by 0.5℃ in summer. The warming is fairly uniform at the low latitudes and does not induce significant changes in the zonal mean Hadley circulation over the Asia-Pacific do- main While the regional precipitation changes from single CSM integrations are noisy, the PCM ensemble mean precipitation shows 10%-30% increases north of ~ 30°N and~10% decreases south of ~ 30°N over the Asia-Pacific region in winter and 10%-20% increases in summer precipitation over most of the region. Methods: The authors consecutively included patients attending their memory clinic between January 2002 and April 2005. They analyzed prevalence and number of MBs according to demographic, diagnostic, and MRI data. Results: The authors included 772 patients (53%men, age 66 ±11). One hundred twenty-seven patients (17%) exhibited at least one MB. The prevalence differed according to diagnostic groups (p < 0.0001): Sixty-five percent of patients with vascular dementia exhibited MBs vs 18%of Alzheimer disease patients, 20%of mild cognitive impairment patients, and 10%of patients with subjective complaints. The presence of MBs was associated with age, white matter hyperintensities, lacunar infarcts, and infarcts. Conclusion: The prevalence of microbleeds (MBs) in a large cohort of patients attending a memory clinic is higher than previously described in community samples and lower than reported in stroke patients. This finding of a relatively high proportion of MBs in Alzheimer disease and mild cognitive impairment provides further evidence for the involvement of vascular factors in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer disease. | Cordonnier C. | 8 | Microstructures and mechanical properties of Ti3Al/Ni-based superalloy joints brazed with AuNi filler metal显示文摘For the purpose of high-temperature service and the weight reduction in aviation engineering applications, the dissimilar joining of Ti3Al-based alloy to Ni-based superalloy (GH536) was conducted using Au-17.5Ni (wt%) brazing filler metal. The microstructure and chemical composition at the interfaces were investigated by scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscope. The diffusion behaviors of elements were analyzed as well. The results indicated that the Ti3Al/GH536 joint microstructure was characterized by multiple layer structures. Element Ni from Au-Ni filler metal reacted with Ti3Al base metal, leading to the formation of AlNi2Ti and NiTi compounds. Element Ni from Ti3Al base metal reacted with Ni and thus Ni3Nb phase was detected in the joint central area. Due to the dissolution of Ni-based superalloy,(Ni,Au) solid solution ((Ni,Au)ss) and Ni-rich phase were visible adjacent to the superalloy side. The average tensile strength of all the joints brazed at 1253 K for 5-20 min was above 356 MPa at room-temperature. In particular, the joints brazed at 1253 K/15 min presented the maximum tensile strength of434 MPa at room-temperature, and the strength of 314 MPa was maintained at 923 K. | 9 | PREPARATION STUDY OF SEMI-SOLID 60Si2Mn SPRING STEEL SLURRY显示文摘The nondendritic semi-solid slurry preparation of 60Si2Mn spring steel is studied in this paper. The experiments show that when stirred for 2 minutes under the test condition, the semi-solid slurry with 50%-60% fraction solid phase and spherical primary austenite in the size of 100-300μm can be obtained and is easy to be discharged from the little bottom hole of the stirring chamber. The more homogeneous temperature field and solute distribution of the 60Si2Mn spring steel melt appear because of the electromagnetic stirring, which restrains the formation of large primary austenitic dendrites and create a base to form spheroidized structure. The stronger temperature fluctuation in the melt with many rosette primary austenites caused by stirring and the remelting of the secondary arm roots in the same time are the most important reasons for deposition of spheroidized primary austenites. | W.M.
