1Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 3Microstructural evolution and corrosion behavior of directionally solidified FeCoNiCrAl high entropy alloy显示文摘The FeCoNiCrAl alloys have many potential applications in the fields of structural materials, but few attempts were made to characterize the directional solidification of high entropy alloys. In the present research, the microstructure and corrosion behavior of FeCoNiCrAl high entropy alloy have been investigated under directional solidification. The results show that with increasing solidification rate, the interface morphology of the alloy evolves from planar to cellular and dendritic. The electrochemical experiment results demonstrate that the corrosion products of both non-directionally and directionally solidified FeCoNiCrAl alloys appear as rectangular blocks in phases which Cr and Fe are enriched, while Al and Ni are depleted, suggesting that Al and Ni are dissolved into the NaCl solution. Comparison of the potentiodynamic polarization behaviors between the two differently solidified FeCoNiCrAl high entropy alloys in a 3.5%NaCl solution shows that the corrosion resistance of directionally solidified FeCoNiCrAl alloy is superior to that of the non-directionally solidified FeCoNiCrAl alloy.Cui Hongbao Wang Ying Wang Jinyong Guo Xuefeng Fu Hengzhi 2011China Foundry2011,8,3:7
4Optical observations of LIGO source GW 170817 by the Antarctic Survey Telescopes at Dome A,Antarctica显示文摘The LIGO detection of gravitational waves(GW) from merging black holes in 2015 marked the beginning of a new era in observational astronomy. The detection of an electromagnetic signal from a GW source is the critical next step to explore in detail the physics involved. The Antarctic Survey Telescopes(AST3),located at Dome A, Antarctica, is uniquely situated for rapid response time-domain astronomy with its continuous night-time coverage during the austral winter. We report optical observations of the GW source(GW 170817) in the nearby galaxy NGC 4993 using AST3. The data show a rapidly fading transient at around 1 day after the GW trigger, with the i-band magnitude declining from 17:23 ± 0:13 magnitude to 17:72 ± 0:09 magnitude in ~1:8 h. The brightness and time evolution of the optical transient associated with GW 170817 are broadly consistent with the predictions of models involving merging binary neutron stars. 5FAT1, a direct transcriptional target of E2F1, suppresses cell proliferation, migration and invasion in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma显示文摘Objective: Growing evidence indicates that FAT atypical cadherin 1(FAT1) has aberrant genetic alterations and exhibits potential tumor suppressive function in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC). However, the role of FAT1 in ESCC tumorigenesis remains not well elucidated. The aim of this study was to further investigate genetic alterations and biological functions of FAT1, as well as to explore its transcriptional regulation and downstream targets in ESCC.Methods: The mutations of FAT1 in ESCC were achieved by analyzing a combined study from seven published genomic data, while the copy number variants of FAT1 were obtained from an analysis of our previous data as well as of The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA) and Cancer Cell Line Encyclopedia(CCLE) databases using the cBioPortal. The transcriptional regulation of FAT1 expression was investigated by chromatin immunoprecipitation(ChIP) and the luciferase reporter assays. In-cell western, Western blot and reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR) were used to assess the indicated gene expression. In addition, colony formation and Transwell migration/invasion assays were employed to test cell proliferation, migration and invasion.Finally, RNA sequencing was used to study the transcriptomes.Results: FAT1 was frequently mutated in ESCC and was deleted in multiple cancers. Furthermore, the transcription factor E2 F1 occupied the promoter region of FAT1, and depletion of E2 F1 led to a decrease in transcription activity and mRNA levels of FAT1. Moreover, we found that knockdown of FAT1 promoted KYSE30 and KYSE150 cell proliferation, migration and invasion;while overexpression of FAT1 inhibited KYSE30 and KYSE410 cell proliferation, migration and invasion. 8Microstructures and Tensile Properties of Hot-extruded Mg-6Zn-xCe(x=0,0.6,1.0,2.0) Alloys显示文摘Mg-6Zn-x Ce(x = 0, 0.6, 1.0, 2.0) alloy ingots with diameter of 50 mm were extruded into bars with diameter of 12 mm at 300 ℃. The microstructures were analyzed by X-ray diffraction, optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy, and mechanical properties were tested at room temperature. The results showed that major intermetallic composition in as-cast Mg-6Zn and Mg-6Zn-0.6Ce alloys was Mg_4Zn_7 phase, during extrusion Mg_4Zn_7 phase was dissolved into matrix and then precipitated as MgZn_2. In as-cast and as-extruded Mg-6Zn-1Ce and Mg-6Zn-2Ce alloys the major intermetallic composition was T phase. The microstructure of as-extruded alloy was refined due to complete dynamic recrystallization, the average grain size decreased with increasing Ce content, which were 12.1, 11.7, 11.0 and 10.0 mm, respectively. High density MgZn_2 precipitated in Mg-6Zn and Mg-6Zn-0.6Ce alloys. The broken T phase particles were distributed linearly along extrusion direction. Mg-6Zn-0.6Ce alloy exhibited a high yield strength of 226.3 MPa that was about 24 MPa higher than Mg-6Zn alloy. 11Natural variations of ZmSRO1d modulate the trade-off between drought resistance and yield by affecting ZmRBOHC-mediated stomatal ROS production in maize显示文摘While crop yields have historically increased,drought resistance has become a major concern in the context of global climate change.The trade-off between crop yield and drought resistance is a common phenomenon;however,the underlying molecular modulators remain undetermined.Through genome-wide association study,we revealed that three non-synonymous variants in a drought-resistant allele of ZmSRO1d-R resulted in plasma membrane localization and enhanced mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase activity of ZmSRO1d toward ZmRBOHC,which increased reactive oxygen species(ROS)levels in guard cells and promoted stomatal closure.ZmSRO1d-R enhanced plant drought resilience and protected grain yields under drought conditions,but it led to yield drag under favorable conditions.In contrast,loss-of-function mutants of ZmRBOHC showed remarkably increased yields under well-watered conditions,whereas they showed compromised drought resistance.Interestingly,by analyzing 189 teosinte accessions,we found that the ZmSRO1d-R allele was present in teosinte but was selected against during maize domestication and modern breeding.Collectively,our work suggests that the allele frequency reduction of ZmSRO1d-R in breeding programs may have compromised maize drought resistance while increased yields.Therefore,introduction of the ZmSRO1d-R allele into modern maize cultivars would contribute to food security under drought stress caused by global climate change.Huajian Gao Junjun Cui Shengxue Liu Shuhui Wang Yongyan Lian Yunting Bai Tengfei Zhu Haohao Wu Yijie Wang Shiping Yang Xuefeng Li Junhong Zhuang Limei Chen Zhizhong Gong Feng Qin 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,10:2
12显示恶性孤立肺结节分叶征的理想CT层厚(英文)显示文摘Objective: The aim of this study was to determine an optimal slice thickness that was efficient in revealing lobulation of malignant solitary pulmonary nodules (SPNs) on multi-slice spiral computed tomography (MSCT) images preliminarily. Methods: Fifty patients with malignant SPNs (diameter ≤ 3 cm) underwent multidetector-row computed tomography of the chest in a single-breath-hold technique. The raw data were acquired with a collimation of 0.625 mm. Three sets of contiguous images were reconstructed with 1-, 2-, and 5-mm slice thickness, respectively. The lobulation sign of SPNs on the computed tomography (CT) images presented in 1-, 2-, and 5-mm slice thickness was compared. Using the 1-mm sections as the gold standard, an optimal slice thickness in revealing lobulation sign of SPNs was determined. Results: The 1-mm-thick images CT revealed 98 lobulations (25 with chord distance < 1 mm; 30 with chord distance 1-2 mm; 43 with chord distance > 2 mm) of 45 malignant SPNs. 18 lobulations with chord distance < 1 mm presented in 2-mm-thick sections were as same as those in 1-mm-thick sections. Statistically significant difference in lobulations number was found between that revealed in 2-mm-thick images and that in 1-mm-thick images (P = 0.023 < 0.05). 16 lobulations with chord distance < 1 mm presented in 5-mm-thick sections were as same as that in 1-mm-thick sections. There was statistically significant difference in lobulations number between that revealed in 5-mm-thick images and that in 1-mm-thick images (P = 0.004 < 0.05). The 24 lobulations with chord distance 1-2 mm presented in 2-mm-thick sections were as same as that in 1-mm-thick sections. No statistically significant difference in lobulations number were found between that revealed in 2-mm-thick images and that in 1-mm-thick images (P = 0.261 > 0.05). 13 lobulations with chord distance 1-2 mm presented in 5-mm-thick sections were as same as that in 1-mm-thick sections. There was statistically significant difference in lobulations number between that revealed in 5-mm-thick images and that in 1-mm-thick images (P = 0.003 < 0.05). 40 lobulations with chord distance ﹥2 mm presented in 2-mm-thick sections were as same as that in 1-mm-thick sections. No statistically significant difference in lobulations number was found between that revealed in 2-mm-thick images and that in 1-mm-thick images (P = 0.631 > 0.05). 36 lobulations with chord distance ﹥2 mm presented in 5-mm-thick sections were as same as that in 1-mm-thick sections. There was no statistically significant difference in lobulations number between that revealed in 5-mm-thick images and that in 1-mm-thick images (P = 0.264 > 0.05). Conclusion: It is suggested that the use of 1-mm slice thickness is suitable in revealing lobulations with chord distance < 1 mm. 13Overview to the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT) Satellite显示文摘As China’s first X-ray astronomical satellite, the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (HXMT), which was dubbed as Insight-HXMT after the launch on June 15, 2017, is a wide-band(1-250 ke V) slat-collimator-based X-ray astronomy satellite with the capability of all-sky monitoring in 0.2-3 Me V. 15Impact of Drought on Agriculture in the Indo-Gangetic Plain,India显示文摘In this study, we investigate the spatiotemporal characteristics of drought in India and its impact on agriculture during the summer season(April–September). In the analysis, we use Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index(SPEI)datasets between 1982 and 2012 at the six-monthly timescale. Based on the criterion SPEI <-1, we obtain a map of the number of occurrences of drought and find that the humid subtropical Upper Middle Gangetic Plain(UMGP) region is highly drought-prone, with an occurrence frequency of 40%–45%. This UMGP region contributes at least 18%–20% of India's annual cereal production. Not only the probability of drought, but the UMGP region has become increasingly drought-prone in recent decades. Moreover, cereal production in the UMGP region has experienced a gradual declining trend from 2000 onwards, which is consistent with the increase in drought-affected areas from 20%–25% to 50%–60%, before and after 2000,respectively. A higher correlation coefficient(-0.69) between the cereal production changes and drought-affected areas confirms that at least 50% of the agricultural(cereal) losses are associated with drought. While analyzing the individual impact of precipitation and surface temperature on SPEI at 6 month timescale [SPEI(6)] we find that, in the UMGP region,surface temperature plays the primary role in the lowering of the SPEI. The linkage is further confirmed by correlation analysis between SPEI(6) and surface temperature, which exhibits strong negative values in the UMGP region. 18Empirical Comparisons of Deep Learning Networks on Liver Segmentation显示文摘Accurate segmentation of CT images of liver tumors is an important adjunct for the liver diagnosis and treatment of liver diseases.In recent years,due to the great improvement of hard device,many deep learning based methods have been proposed for automatic liver segmentation.Among them,there are the plain neural network headed by FCN and the residual neural network headed by Resnet,both of which have many variations.They have achieved certain achievements in medical image segmentation.In this paper,we firstly select five representative structures,i.e.,FCN,U-Net,Segnet,Resnet and Densenet,to investigate their performance on liver segmentation.Since original Resnet and Densenet could not perform image segmentation directly,we make some adjustments for them to perform live segmentation.Our experimental results show that Densenet performs the best on liver segmentation,followed by Resnet.Both perform much better than Segnet,U-Net,and FCN.Among Segnet,U-Net,and FCN,U-Net performs the best,followed by Segnet.FCN performs the worst.Yi Shen Victor S.Sheng Lei Wang Jie Duan Xuefeng Xi Dengyong Zhang Ziming Cui 2020Computers, Materials & Continua2020,,3:1
