1Influence of Re on the Properties of a NiCoCrAlY Coating Alloy显示文摘MCrAlY can serve as stand-alone overlay coatings or bond coats in thermal barrier coating systems, and its properties play a vital role in determining the performance of these coating systems. In order to further understand the behavior of MCrAlY coatings, several NiCoCrAlY model alloys with different levels of Re (0.3 wt%, 6 wt%, and 9 wt%) were investigated. Microstructural observation showed the addition of Re promoted the precipitation of Cr-rich phases, such as α-Cr and σ. The presence of α-Cr lowered the coecient of thermal expansion (CTE) of the coating alloys, which could reduce the CTE mismatch at the scale-metal interface. The solid solution strengthening effect of Re is responsible for an increase in Rockwell hardness of the coating alloys. But the isothermal oxidation resistance at 1100oC was deteriorated due to the precipitation of brittle α-Cr phase, a phase of inferior oxidation resistance compared with β-NiAl and γ-Ni.J.J. Liang H. 2Measurements of γ/γ' Lattice Misfit and γ' Volume Fraction for a Ru-containing Nickel-based Single Crystal Superalloy显示文摘A conventional X-ray diffractometer has been used to determine the γ/γ lattice misfit and γ volume fraction for a Ru-containing nickel-based single crystal superalloy at room temperature.The rocking curve was used to characterize the distribution of subgrains.The diffraction peaks obtained by ω-2θ scan were used to determine the γ/γ lattice misfit and γ volume fraction.A three peaks fitting model was proposed.The peak fitting results are in good agreement with the model.The X-ray diffraction results indicate that the nickel-based single crystal superalloy was not a perfect monocrystalline material,which is comprised of many subgrains;and each subgrain also consists of large numbers of mosaic structures.In addition,two anomalous reflection phenomena were found during the experiment and discussed with respect to their occurrence and impact on the measurement.The experimental results show that the γ/γ lattice misfit and γ volume fraction will be various at the different regions of its dendritic microstructure.The average γ/γ lattice misfit and γ volume fraction of the experimental alloy are approximately-0.2% and 70%,respectively.Furthermore,the γ volume fraction calculated by atom microprobe(AP) data is also basically consistent with the experimental results.X.P. 3EFFECT OF VACUUM HEAT TREATMENT ON OXIDATION BEHAVIOR OF SPUTTERED NiCrAlY COATING显示文摘A bond coat for thermal barrier coating (TBC), NiCrAlY coating, is subjected to vac-uum heat treatment in order to remove internal stress before ceramic top coat is de-posited. The effect of vacuum heat treatment on the oxidation behavior of the sputteredNiCrAlY coating has been investigated. The as-sputtered NiCrAlY coating consists ofγ-Ni and β-NiAl phases. After vacuum heat treatment, the sputtered NiCrAlY coatingmainly consists of γ-Ni3Al, β-NiAl, γ-Ni, and trace of α-Al2O3 phases. The isother-mal oxidation of sputtered NiCrAlY coating with and without vacuum heat treatmenthas been performed at 1000C. It is shown that α-Al2O3 formed during vacuum heattreatment acts as nuclei for the formation of α-Al2O3, and the protective α-Al2O3scale is formed more rapidly on the vacuum heat treated NiCrAlY coating than thatformed on the untreated coating. Also the α-Al2O3 scale has a better adherence to thevacuum heat treated NiCrAlY coating. Therefore the vacuum heat treatment improvesthe oxidation resistance of sputtered NiCrAlY coating.M.H. Li X.F. 20BEHAVIOR OF SHORT FATIGUE CRACKS AT BLUNT NOTCHES IN A MEDIUM CARBON STEEL显示文摘The behavior of part-through and through short cmcks in single edge blunt notched specimens of a medium carbon steel was investigated by a replication method. It is found that the fatigue failure of these notched specitnensis caused mainly by the growth of short surface cracks originating from the sudece of notch root. More than 70% of the fatigue lofe is spent in the regimes in which short surface cracks initiate and propagate as part-through cracks before joining up to form a single through-thickness cmck. The effect of original crack profile which is forsned through the coalescence of multiple part-through cracks is the main reason causing the 'anomalous' propagation behavior of the through-thickness cruck in its early stage.Wu, Z.X.
