| 1 | Toosendanin-induced change of dopamine level detected by microdialysis in vivo at rat striatum显示文摘To investigate the effect on central nervous transmission of toosendanin (TSN), a presynaptic blocker, rat striatum was perfused in vivo with a TSN-containing artificial cere-brospinal fluid (ACSF) and the level of dopamine (DA) as well as related metabolites in the collected dialysates has been determined by a microbore HPLC with electrochemical detection (mi-crobore HPLC-ECD). The results are as follows: ( i ) TSN induced a biphasic change of DA from its basal level;( ii ) the basal contents of two metabolites, 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid (DOPAC) and homovanillic acid (HVA) increased in turn and stayed at a higher level than basal control for a long period. The basal level of 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5-HIAA), a metabolite of 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT), had a change similar to that of HVA; (iii) after per-fusion with TSN-containing ACSF, high K+-evoked DA release was inhibited. | 3 | Florid reactive periostitis ossificans of the humerus: Case report and differential diagnosis of periosteal lesions of long bones显示文摘A case of florid reactive periostitis ossificans(RPO) arising in a long bone is presented. This is a rare bone proliferation with a pronounced periosteal reaction. Less than 100 cases have been described in the literature with far fewer outside the bones of the hand, feet, fingers, and toes. Although the etiology is unknown, a relationship to preceding trauma is suggested. The imaging and histologic features show an overlap with other bone lesions including bizarre parosteal osteochondromatous proliferation, subungual exostosis, and malignant surface tumors of bone and cartilage which include, periosteal and parosteal osteosarcoma. It is important to recognize the clinical presentation and diagnostic features of RPO as a benign entity so that it is not mistaken for a more aggressive neoplasm. We present a case of a right distal humeral lesion that on histopathological review revealed florid RPO. This diagnosis was not suspected on imaging studies, but was made on open biopsy of the mass. The patient remains disease free, years postoperatively. | 6 | StRAP2.3, an ERF-Ⅶ transcription factor, directly activates StInvInh2 to enhance cold-induced sweetening resistance in potato显示文摘Potato invertase inhibitor(StInvInh2)positively regulates cold-induced sweetening(CIS)resistance by inhibiting the activity of vacuolar invertase.The distinct expression patterns of StInvInh2 have been thoroughly characterized in different potato genotypes,but the related CIS ability has not been characterized.The understanding of the regulatory mechanisms that control StInvInh2 transcription is unclear.In this study,we identified an ERF‐Ⅶ transcription factor,StRAP2.3,that directly regulates StInvInh2 to positively modulate CIS resistance.Acting as a nuclear-localized transcriptional activator,StRAP2.3 directly binds the ACCGAC cis-element in the promoter region of StInvInh2,enabling promoter activity.Overexpression of StRAP2.3 in CIS-sensitive potato tubers induced StInvInh2 mRNA abundance and increased CIS resistance.In contrast,silencing StRAP2.3 in CIS-resistant potato tubers repressed the expression of StInvInh2 and decreased CIS resistance.We conclude that cold-responsive StInvInh2 is due to the binding of StRAP2.3 to the ACCGAC cis-element in the promoter region of StInvInh2.Overall,these findings indicate that StRAP2.3 directly regulates StInvInh2 to positively modulate CIS resistance,which may provide a strategy to improve the processing quality of potatoes. | Weiling Shi Yuhao Song Tiantian Liu Qiuqin Ma Wang Yin Yuchen Shen Tengfei Liu Chunyan Jiang Kai Zhang Dianqiu Lv Botao Song Jichun Wang Xun Liu | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 1 |
