1Zircon SHRIMP U-Pb dating of meta-diorite from the basement of the Songliao Basin and its geological significance显示文摘The basement of the Songliao Basin mainly contains low-grade metamorphic rocks and granites. It has been long disputed whether the basin has Precambrian metamorphic basement. This is a report of zircon SHRIMP U-Pb dating results of a meta-diorite sample, which was taken from the Si-5 drilling hole in the southern portion of the Songliao Basin. The SHRIMP analyses indicate that the meta-diorite with a weighted mean 207Pb/206Pb age of 1839±7 Ma (2σ, n = 8) was emplaced during Paleo-Proterozoic time. Additionally, the meta-diorite has old Nd model ages (TDM1: 2999Ma; TDM2: 2849Ma). 2Human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cell therapy in patients with COVID-19:a phase 1 clinical trial显示文摘No effective drug treatments are available for coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).Host-directed therapies targeting the underlying aberrant immune responses leading to pulmonary tissue damage,death,or long-term functional disability in survivors require clinical evaluation.We performed a parallel assigned controlled,non-randomized,phase 1 clinical trial to evaluate the safety of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells(UC-MSCs)infusions in the treatment of patients with moderate and severe COVID-19 pulmonary disease.The study enrolled 18 hospitalized patients with COVID-19(n=9 for each group).The treatment group received three cycles of intravenous infusion of UC-MSCs(3×107 cells per infusion)on days 0,3,and 6.Both groups received standard COVID-treatment regimens.Adverse events,duration of clinical symptoms,laboratory parameters,length of hospitalization,serial chest computed tomography(CT)images,the PaO2/FiO2 ratio,dynamics of cytokines,and IgG and IgM anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies were analyzed.No serious UC-MSCs infusion-associated adverse events were observed.Two patients receiving UC-MSCs developed transient facial flushing and fever,and one patient developed transient hypoxia at 12 h post UC-MSCs transfusion.Mechanical ventilation was required in one patient in the treatment group compared with four in the control group.All patients recovered and were discharged.Our data show that intravenous UC-MSCs infusion in patients with moderate and severe COVID-19 is safe and well tolerated.Phase 2/3 randomized,controlled,double-blinded trials with long-term follow-up are needed to evaluate the therapeutic use of UC-MSCs to reduce deaths and improve long-term treatment outcomes in patients with serious COVID-19.Fanping Meng Ruonan Xu Siyu Wang Zhe Xu Chao Zhang Yuanyuan Li Tao Yang Lei Shi Junliang Fu Tianjun Jiang Lei Huang Peng Zhao Xin Yuan Xing Fan Ji-Yuan Zhang Jinwen Song Dawei Zhang Yanmei Jiao Limin Liu Chunbao Zhou Markus Maeurer Alimuddin Zumla Ming Shi Fu-Sheng Wang 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:16
3Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 4The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. 5Combined treatment of non-small cell lung cancer using radiotherapy and immunotherapy: challenges and updates显示文摘The efficacy of immunotherapy for advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)remains unsatisfactory,as the majority of patients either do not experience an objective response or acquire secondary resistance.As a result,several methods to enhance the systemic efficacy of immunotherapy have been investigated,including a large area of active research by combining immunotherapy with radiation therapy(RT).Given the rapidly burgeoning concept of combining immunotherapy and RT for increasing therapeutic benefit,we review the progress in this field thus far and explore further avenues for enhancing this combination.This review commences with a discussion of the only two existing randomized trials(and a pooled analysis)showing that the addition of RT to immunotherapy improves the abscopal response rate,progression-free survival,and overall survival in metastatic NSCLC patients.We then discussed factors and biomarkers that may be associated with a proportionally greater benefit to additional RT,such as low programmed cell death protein ligand 1(PD-L1)status,tumor mutational burden(TMB),and patient’s immune function.Next,the implementation of RT to overcome immunotherapy resistance is discussed,including a mechanistic discussion and methods with which these mechanisms could be exploited.Lastly,the emerging role of low-dose RT is discussed,which may help to overcome inhibitory signals in the tumor stroma that limit T-cell infiltration.Taken together,given the current state of this rapidly expanding realm,these futuristic strategies may be reflected upon to further enhance the efficacy of immunotherapy for a wider group of patients.Shijie Shang Jie Liu Vivek Verma Meng Wu James Welsh Jinming Yu Dawei Chen 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,11:10

10TEM and HRTEM Study of Microstructures in Omphacite from UHP Eclogites at Shima,Dabie Mountains,China显示文摘Transmission electron microscope (TEM) and high resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM) analyses have been performed on omphacite from ultra-high pressure (UHP) eclogites at the locality of Shima, Dabie Mountains, China. TEM reveals that the microstructures consist dominantly of dislocation substructures, including free dislocations, loops, tiltwalls, dislocation tangles and subboundaries. They were produced by high-temperature ductile deformation, of which the main mechanism was dislocation creep. Antiphase domain (APD) boundaries are common planar defects; an age of 470±6 Ma for UHP eclogite formation has been obtained from the equiaxial size of APDs in ordered omphacites from Shima, coincident with ages given by single-zircon U-Pb dating (471±2 Ma). HRTEM reveals C2/c and P2ln space groups in different parts of one single omphacite crystal, and no exsolution is observed in the studied samples, which is attributed to rapid cooling. 11Density estimated physicochemical properties of alanine-based ionic liquid [C_7mim][Ala] and its application in selective transesterification of soybean oil显示文摘Amino acid ionic liquid (AAIL) based on alanine, 1-n-heptyl-3-methylimidazolium alanine ([C7mim][Ala]), has been prepared and characterized. Since the IL can form strong hydrogen bonds with water, trace amount of water is a problematic impurity in the IL. Using the standard addition method (SAM), the densities were measured in the temperature range from 293.15 to 343.15±0.05 K. On the basis of the experimental data of density, the surface tension , molar volume, and the molecular volume Vm, molar enthalpy of vaporization lgHm0, and the thermal expansion coefficients , for [C7mim][Ala] were estimated using semi-empirical methods. Also the interstice model has been verified with good accordance. Then the [C7mim][Ala] was taken as catalyst in the transesterification reaction with fatty acid, where soybean oil was used as raw material and methanol as reactant. The amount of catalyst, alcohol consumption, reaction time, temperature and other factors of the reaction were investigated. Using GC determination, the conversions were calculated by the internal standard method. 12Overview to the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT) Satellite显示文摘As China’s first X-ray astronomical satellite, the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (HXMT), which was dubbed as Insight-HXMT after the launch on June 15, 2017, is a wide-band(1-250 ke V) slat-collimator-based X-ray astronomy satellite with the capability of all-sky monitoring in 0.2-3 Me V. 13Variation in allelic frequencies at loci associated with kernel weight and their effects on kernel weight-related traits in winter wheat显示文摘Knowledge of allelic frequencies at loci associated with kernel weight and effects on kernel weight-related traits is crucial for yield improvement in wheat. Kernel weight-related traits were evaluated in 200 Chinese winter wheat cultivars(lines) grown at the Xinxiang Experimental Station, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Xinxiang in Henan Province, for three consecutive years from 2014 to 2016. Alleles associated with kernel weight at nine loci, TaCKX6-D1, TaCwi-A1, TaCWI-4A, TaGS1a, TaGS5-A1, TaGS3-3A, TaGW2-6A, TaSus2-2B, and TaTGW6-A1, were determined for all cultivars(lines). ANOVA showed that genotypes, years and their interactions had significant effects on thousand-kernel weight(TKW), kernel length(KL) and kernel width(KW). The overall mean frequencies of alleles conferring high and low TKW at the nine loci were 65.9% and 33.4%, with the ranges of 37.0%–85.0% and 13.5%–63.0% for single loci. The frequencies of high-TKW alleles were over 50.0% at eight of the loci. Genotypes at each locus with the high-TKW allele had higher TKW than those with the low-TKW allele. The high-TKW allele Hap-H at the TaSus2-2B locus can be preferably used to increase grain yield due to its high TKW(49.32 g). A total of 18 main allelic combinations(ACs) at nine loci were detected. Three ACs(AC1–AC3) had significantly higher TKW than AC6 with high-TKW alleles at all nine loci even though they contained some low-TKW alleles. This indicated that other loci controlling kernel weight were present in the high-TKW cultivars. 14Adsorption equilibrium for Z-ligustilide on C18-bonded silica from supercritical carbon dioxide显示文摘Adsorption equilibrium is of great importance for the preparative supercritical fluid chromatography(pre-SFC) in defining supercritical adsorption behavior and the industrial amplification.This paper presents adsorption isotherms of Z-ligustilide from supercritical carbon dioxide(SC-CO_2) on C18-bonded silica.Adsorption behavior was studied at 305.15 K,313.15 K and 323.15 K with SC-CO_2 density varying from 0.687 g·cm^(-3) to0.863 g·cm^(-3) with the elution by characteristic points(ECP) method.The adsorption amount of Z-ligustilide from SC-CO_2 on C18-bonded silica decreased with the increasing density of the mobile phase as well as the increasing temperature.Adsorption equilibrium data were fitted by Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models,and the Langmuir isotherm model performed better for describing the whole adsorption process on the column.The monolayer saturation adsorption capacity of Z-ligustilide is in the range of 3.0 × 10^(-4) mg·cm^(-3) to5.5 × 10^(-4) mg·cm^(-3) with an average value of 4.0 × 10^(-4) mg·cm^(-3).Huisheng Lü Shuangyan Liu Yonghui Li Fanmei Meng Dawei Yao Xufei Mo 2016Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2016,24,12:1

18Apoptotic vesicles ameliorate lupus and arthritis via phosphatidylserine-mediated modulation of T cell receptor signaling显示文摘Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)influence T cells in health,disease and therapy through messengers of intercellular communication including extracellular vesicles(EVs).Apoptosis is a mode of cell death that tends to promote immune tolerance,and a large number of apoptotic vesicles(apoVs)are generated from MSCs during apoptosis.In an effort to characterize these apoVs and explore their immunomodulatory potential,here we show that after replenishing them systemically,the apoV deficiency in Fas mutant mice and pathological lymphoproliferation were rescued,leading to the amelioration of inflammation and lupus activity.ApoVs directly interacted with CD4^(+)T cells and inhibited CD25 expression and IL-2 production in a dose-dependent manner.A broad range of Th1/2/17 subsets and cytokines including IFNγ,IL17A and IL-10 were suppressed while Foxp3^(+)cells were maintained.Mechanistically,exposed phosphatidylserine(PtdSer/PS)on apoVs mediated the interaction with T cells to disrupt proximal T cell receptor signaling transduction.Remarkably,administration of apoVs prevented Th17 differentiation and memory formation,and ameliorated inflammation and joint erosion in murine arthritis.Collectively,our findings unveil a previously unrecognized crosstalk between MSC apoVs and CD4^(+)T cells and suggest a promising therapeutic use of apoVs for autoimmune diseases.Runci Wang Meng Hao Xiaoxing Kou Bingdong Sui Maria Laura Sanmillan Xiao Zhang Dawei Liu Jun Tian Wenjing Yu Chider Chen Ruili Yang Lingyun Sun Yi Liu Claudio Giraudo Deepak A.Rao Nan Shen Songtao Shi 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,7:1
