1Study of locust bean gum reinforced cyst-chitosan and oxidized dextran based semi-IPN cryogel dressing for hemostatic application显示文摘Severe blood loss due to traumatic injuries remains one of the leading causes of death in emergency settings.Chitosan continues to be the candidate material for hemostatic applications due to its inherent hemostatic properties.However,available chitosan-based dressings have been reported to have an acidic odor at the wound site due to the incorporation of acid based solvents for their fabrication and deformation under compression owing to low mechanical strength limiting its usability.In the present study semi-IPN cryogel was fabricated via Schiff's base cross-linking between the polyaldehyde groups of oxidized dextran and thiolated chitosan in presence of locust bean gum(LBG)known for its hydrophilicity.Polymerization at12C yielded macroporous semi-IPN cryogels with an average pore size of 124.57±20.31 mm and 85.46%porosity.The hydrophobicity index of LBG reinforced semi-IPN cryogel was reduced 2.42 times whereas the swelling ratio was increased by 156.08%compare to control cryogel.The increased hydrophilicity and swelling ratio inflated the compressive modulus from 28.1 kPa to 33.85 for LBG reinforced semi-IPN cryogel.The structural stability and constant degradation medium pH were also recorded over a period of 12 weeks.The cryogels demonstrated lower adsorption affinity towards BSA.The cytotoxicity assays(direct,indirect)with 3T3-L1 fibroblast cells confirmed the cytocompatibility of the cryogels.The hemolysis assay showed<5%hemolysis confirming blood compatibility of the fabricated cryogel,while whole blood clotting and platelet adhesion assays confirmed the hemostatic potential of semi-IPN cryogel.Lalit Kumar Meena Pavani Raval Dhaval Kedaria Rajesh Vasita 2018Bioactive Materials2018,3,3:4
2Prospects to the formation and control of potential dimer impurity E of pantoprazole sodium sesquihydrate显示文摘Pantoprazole sodium, a substituted benzimidazole derivative, is an irreversible proton pump inhibitor which is primarily used for the treatment of duodenal ulcers, gastric ulcers, and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). The monographs of European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) and United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) specify six impurities, viz.;impurities A, B, C, D, E and F, respectively for its active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). The identification and synthesis of all impurities except impurity E are well described in the literature;however, there is no report related to impurity E. The prospects to the formation and controlling of impurity E up to -0.03% in the synthesis of pantoprazole sodium sesquihydrate (PAN) were discussed in detail for the first time. The present work described the journey towards the successful development of an optimal preparation procedure of dimer impurity E. 3Computational fluid dynamics modeling of abutment scour under steady current using the level set method显示文摘The scour and deposition pattern around an abutment under constant discharge condition is calculated using a three dimensional(3D) Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) model.The Reynolds-Averaged Navier Stokes(RANS) equations are solved in three dimensions using a CFD model.The Level Set Method(LSM) is used for calculation of both free surface and bed topography.The two-equation turbulence model(k-ε and k-ω) is used to calculate the eddy viscosity in the RANS equations.The pressure term in the RANS equations on a staggered grid is modeled using the Chorin’s projection method.The 5th order Weighted Essentially Non-Oscillatory(WENO) scheme discretizes the convective term of the RANS equations.The Kovacs and Parker and Dey formulations are used for the reduction in bed shear stress on the sloping bed.The model also used the sandslide algorithm which limits bed shear stress reduction during the erosion process.The numerical model solution is validated against experimental results collected at the Politecnico di Milano,Milan,Italy.Furthe r,the numerical model is tested for perfo rmance by varying the grid sizes and key parameters like the space and time discretization schemes.The effect of varying bed porosity has been evaluated.Overall,the free surface is well represented in a realistic manner and bed topography is well predicted using the Level Set Method(LSM).Mohammad Saud Afzal Hans Bihs Lalit Kumar 2020International Journal of Sediment Research2020,35,4:4

11Deep Learning and SVM-Based Approach for Indian Licence Plate Character Recognition显示文摘Every developing country relies on transportation,and there has been an exponential expansion in the development of various sorts of vehicles with various configurations,which is a major component strengthening the automobile sector.India is a developing country with increasing road traffic,which has resulted in challenges such as increased road accidents and traffic oversight issues.In the lack of a parametric technique for accurate vehicle recognition,which is a major worry in terms of reliability,high traffic density also leads to mayhem at checkpoints and toll plazas.A system that combines an intelligent domain approach with more sustainability indices is a better way to handle traffic density and transparency issues.The Automatic Licence Plate Recognition(ALPR)system is one of the components of the intelligent transportation system for traffic monitoring.This study is based on a comprehensive and detailed literature evaluation in the field of ALPR.The major goal of this study is to create an automatic pattern recognition system with various combinations and higher accuracy in order to increase the reliability and accuracy of identifying digits and alphabets on a car plate.The research is founded on the idea that image processing opens up a diverse environment with allied fields when employing distinct soft techniques for recognition.The properties of characters are employed to recognise the Indian licence plate in this study.For licence plate recognition,more than 200 images were analysed with various parameters and soft computing techniques were applied.In comparison to neural networks,a hybrid technique using a Convolution Neural Network(CNN)and a Support Vector Machine(SVM)classifier has a 98.45%efficiency.Nitin Sharma Mohd Anul Haq Pawan Kumar Dahiya B.R.Marwah Reema Lalit Nitin Mittal Ismail Keshta 2023Computers, Materials & Continua2023,,1:1

18Feasibility and efficacy of delayed pharmacoinvasive therapy for STelevation myocardial infarction显示文摘BACKGROUND ST-elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI)refers to a clinical syndrome that features symptoms of myocardial ischemia with consequent ST-elevation on electrocardiography and an associated rise in cardiac biomarkers.Rapid restoration of brisk flow in the coronary vasculature is critical in reducing mortality and morbidity.In patients with STEMI who could not receive primary percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)on time,pharmacoinvasive strategy(thrombolysis followed by timely PCI within 3-24 h of its initiation)is an effective option.AIM To analyze the role of delayed pharmacoinvasive strategy in the window period of 24-72 h after thrombolysis.METHODS This was a physician-initiated,single-center prospective registry between January 2017 and July 2017 which enrolled 337 acute STEMI patients with partially occluded coronary arteries.Patients received routine pharmacoinvasive therapy(PCI within 3-24 h of thrombolysis)in one group and delayed pharmacoinvasive therapy(PCI within 24-72 h of thrombolysis)in another group.The primary endpoint was major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events(MACCE)within 30 d of the procedure.The secondary endpoints included major bleeding as defined by Bleeding Academic Research Consortium classification,angina,and dyspnea within 30 d.RESULTS The mean age in the two groups was comparable(55.1±10.1 years vs 54.2±10.5 years,P=0.426).Diabetes was present among 20.2%and 22.1%of patients in the routine and delayed groups,respectively.Smoking rate was 54.6%and 55.8%in the routine and delayed groups,respectively.Thrombolysis was initiated within 6 h of onset of symptoms in both groups(P=0.125).The mean time from thrombolysis to PCI in the routine and delayed groups was 16.9±5.3 h and 44.1±14.7 h,respectively.No significant difference was found for the occurrence of measured clinical outcomes in the two groups within 30 d(8.7%vs 12.9%,P=0.152).Univariate analysis of demographic characteristics and risk factors for patients who reported MACCE in the two groups did not demonstrate any significant correlation.Secondary endpoints such as angina,dyspnea,and major bleeding were non-significantly different between the two groups.CONCLUSION Delayed PCI pharmacoinvasive strategy in a critical diseased but not completely occluded artery beyond 24 h in patients who have been timely thrombolyzed seems a reasonable strategy.Rishi Sethi Lalit Mohan Pravesh Vishwakarma Abhishek Singh Swati Sharma Monika Bhandari Ayush Shukla Akhil Sharma Gaurav Chaudhary Akshyaya Pradhan Sharad Chandra Varun Shankar Narain Sudhanshu Kumar Dwivedi 2023World Journal of Cardiology2023,15,1:1
