2Non-Hermitian degeneracies of internal–external mode pairs in dielectric microdisks显示文摘Open quantum and wave systems can exhibit non-Hermitian degeneracies called exceptional points, where both the eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenstates coalesce. Previously, such exceptional points have been investigated in dielectric microcavities in terms of optical modes which are well confined inside the cavity. However,beside these so-called 'internal modes' with a relatively high quality factor, there exists another kind of mode called 'external modes,' which have a large decay rate and almost zero intensity inside the cavity. In the present paper, we demonstrate the physical significance of the external modes via the occurrence of exceptional points of internal–external mode pairs for transverse electric polarization. 4Global nitrogen input on wetland ecosystem:The driving mechanism of soil labile carbon and nitrogen on greenhouse gas emissions显示文摘Greenhouse gas emissions from wetlands are significantly promoted by global nitrogen input for changing the rate of soil carbon and nitrogen cycling,and are substantially affected by soil labile carbon and nitrogen conversely.However,the driving mechanism by which soil labile carbon and nitrogen affect greenhouse gas emissions from wetland ecosystems under global nitrogen input is not well understood.Working out the driving factor of nitrogen input on greenhouse gas emissions from wetlands is critical to reducing global warming from nitrogen input.Thus,we synthesized 72 published studies(2144 paired observations)of greenhouse gas fluxes and soil labile compounds of carbon and nitrogen(ammonium,nitrate,dissolved organic carbon,soil microbial biomass nitrogen and carbon),to understand the effects of labile carbon and nitrogen on greenhouse gas emissions under global nitrogen input.Across the data set,nitrogen input significantly promoted carbon dioxide,methane and nitrous oxide emissions from wetlands.In particular,at lower nitrogen rates(<100 kg ha^(-1)$·yr^(-1))and with added ammonium compounds,freshwater wetland significantly promoted carbon dioxide and methane emissions.Peatland was the largest nitrous oxide source under these conditions.This meta-analysis also revealed that nitrogen input stimulated dissolved organic carbon,ammonium,nitrate,microbial biomass carbon and microbial biomass nitrogen accumulation in the wetland ecosystem.The variation-partitioning analysis and structural equation model were used to analyze the relationship between the greenhouse gas and labile carbon and nitrogen further.These results revealed that dissolved organic carbon(DOC)is the primary factor driving greenhouse gas emission from wetlands under global nitrogen input,whereas microbial biomass carbon(MBC)more directly affects greenhouse gas emission than other labile carbon and nitrogen.Mengli Chen Lian Chang Junmao Zhang Fucheng Guo Jan Vymazal Qiang He Yi Chen 2020Environmental Science and Ecotechnology2020,,4:2

6Urbanization in China,ca.1100-1900显示文摘This paper presents new estimates of the development of the urban population and the urbanization ratio for the period spanning the Song and late Qing dynasties.Urbanization is viewed,as in much of the economic historical literature on the topic,as an indirect indicator of economic development and structural change.The development of the urban system can therefore tell us a lot about long-term trends in the Chinese economy between 1100 and 1900.During the Song,the level of urbanization was high,also by international standards--the capital cities of the Song were probably the largest cities in the world.This remained so until the late Ming,but during the Qing there was a downward trend in the level of urbanization from 11%-12% to 7% in the late 18^th century,a level at which it remained until the early 1900s.In our paper we analyse the role that socio-political and economic causes played in this decline,such as the changing character of the Chinese state,the limited impact of overseas trade on the urban system,and the apparent absence of the dynamic economic effects that were characteristic for the European urban system.Yi Xu Bas van Leeuwen Jan Luiten van Zanden 2018Frontiers of Economics in China-Selected Publications from Chinese Universities2018,13,3:1

17SIRT1-dependent modulation of methylation and acetylation of histone H3 on lysine 9(H3K9)in the zygotic pronuclei improves porcine embryo development显示文摘Background: The histone code is an established epigenetic regulator of early embryonic development in mammals.The lysine residue K9 of histone H3(H3 K9) is a prime target of SIRT1, a member of NAD+-dependent histone deacetylase family of enzymes targeting both histone and non-histone substrates. At present, little is known about SIRT1-modulation of H3 K9 in zygotic pronuclei and its association with the success of preimplantation embryo development. Therefore, we evaluated the effect of SIRT1 activity on H3 K9 methylation and acetylation in porcine zygotes and the significance of H3 K9 modifications for early embryonic development.Results: Our results show that SIRT1 activators resveratrol and BML-278 increased H3 K9 methylation and suppressed H3 K9 acetylation in both the paternal and maternal pronucleus. Inversely, SIRT1 inhibitors nicotinamide and sirtinol suppressed methylation and increased acetylation of pronuclear H3 K9. Evaluation of early embryonic development confirmed positive effect of selective SIRT1 activation on blastocyst formation rate(5.2 ± 2.9% versus 32.9 ± 8.1% in vehicle control and BML-278 group, respectively; P ≤ 0.05). Stimulation of SIRT1 activity coincided with fluorometric signal intensity of ooplasmic ubiquitin ligase MDM2, a known substrate of SIRT1 and known limiting factor of epigenome remodeling.Conclusions: We conclude that SIRT1 modulates zygotic histone code, obviously through direct deacetylation and via non-histone targets resulting in increased H3 K9 me3.
