Floristic composition and ecological gradient analyses of the Liakot Forests in the Kalam region of District Swat,Pakistan显示文摘Kalam Kohistan is a dry, temperate hilly region in the Hindu Raj Series of the Greater Hindu Kush Mountains with diverse forests. As plant distribution and composition is expression of a range of various environmental variables, ecological and floristic attributes of vegetation in the Laikot Forests were therefore evaluated via consecutive explorative trips. These forests have not been evaluated ecologically before due to harsh climatic conditions and issues of accessibility and the study in hand is one of the first in its nature.Quantitative ecological techniques were used to sample forest vegetation and identify species in quadrats of 2 m×2 m for herbs,5 m×5 m for shrubs and 10 m×10 m for trees. All the data of 195 plant species and environmental factors were analyzed via Two-way Cluster Analysis and Canonical Correspondence Analysis using PCORD and CANOCO software.Among 195 plant species from 63 families were 27 species of Asteraceae, the most-speciose family, followed by Poaceae(20 spp.).The dominant life form was therophyte(86 spp.;44%share),followed by phanerophyte(41 spp.;21%share).For the leaf size spectrum, most prevalent was nanophyll(73 spp.;44%)followed by microphyll(66 spp.,34%)and mesophyll(44 spp.;23%).Calcium carbonate,pH,potassium, sand, silt, organic matter, slope aspect and grazing significantly influenced species composition, distribution and habitat. The floristic variation in the region was diverse due to elevational and aspect gradients and thus devided into three zones. This vegetation zonation can be utilized for forest management, species and habitat conservation. Both in situ and ex situ conservation of threatened plant species may improve their conservation status in future if address properly. | Sohail Anwar Shujaul Mulk Khan Zeeshan Ahmad Zahid Ullah Majid Iqbal | 2019 | Journal of Forestry Research2019,30,4: | 1
Integrated Weed Management Through Tillage and Herbicides for Wheat Production in Rice-Wheat Cropping System in Northwestern Pakistan显示文摘Conservational tillage (CT) in combination with broad spectrum herbicide may be more efficient and economical in controlling weeds, reducing cost of cultivation, and enhancing wheat yield. Field experiments were carried out to evaluate the effect of tillage and herbicides on weeds and wheat yield under rice-wheat cropping system (RWCS). The results indicated that broad spectrum herbicides particularly, carfentrazone ethyl ester + isoproturon (Affinity 50 WDG) reduced weeds density by 93 and 95% compared to control and also produced the maximum grain yield (6 818 and 6 996 kg ha-1) and HI (harvest index, 44.7 and 44.6%) in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 growing seasons, respectively. The maximum weeds infestation and the lowest yield were recorded in control. Tillage methods significantly influenced grain yield and HI, while no significant effect on all other parameters. The overall mean yield was significantly higher in zero tillage (5 575 kg ha-1) and reduced tillage (5 584 kg ha-1) compared to CT (5 479 kg ha-1). Besides increasing wheat yield, Affinity 50 WDG and zero tillage are important weed management practices that can be integrated into wheat production in RWCS. However, in case of perennial weeds or insect pests?infestation, CT in combination with Affinity 50 WDG would be more productive than conservation tillage. | Khalid Usman Inayat Ullah Said Mir Khan Muhammad Umar Khan Said Ghulam Muhammad Anwar Khan | 2012 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2012,11,6: | 1
Measuring quality of experience for 360-degree videos in virtual reality显示文摘In recent years,we witness dramatic growing attention in immersive media technologies like 360-degree videos and virtual reality(VR).However, measuring the quality-of-experience(QoE)for 360-degree VR videos is not a trivial task.Streaming such videos to head mounted displays(HMDs)is extremely bandwidth-demanding when compared to traditional 2D videos. In HTTP adaptive streaming,QoE tends to deteriorate significantly during fluctuating network conditions, which results in various bitrate changes and causes multiple stalling events during playback. Thus, understanding how the human visual system perceives 360-degree video with the effect of stalling and different bitrate levels becomes inevitable. In this paper,we investigate the impact of stalling on users QoE under different bitrate levels and the interaction between stalling event and bitrate level for 360-degree videos in VR.To aim this,we first build a 360-degree videos database by encoding videos in three different bitrate levels(1,5,and 15 Mbps)with 4 K resolutions(3840×1920 pixels). We then simulate various stalling events in the videos and conduct a subjective experiment in a virtual reality environment to investigate the human responses. Finally,we use a Bayesian method to estimate and predict the QoE while measuring the quality drop owing to various stalling events and bitrate changes.Proposed solution and prediction results show a strong dependency between playback stalling and bitrate of 360-degree video in VR.Stalling always impacts the QoE of 360-degree videos, but the strength of this negative impact depends on the video bitrate level. The adverse effect of stalling events is more profound when bitrate level approaches to the high and low end, which is in close agreement with subjective opinion. | Muhammad Shahid ANWAR Jing WANG Asad ULLAH Wahab KHAN Sadique AHMAD Zesong FEI | 2020 | Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,10: | 1

Stochastic Analysis for the Dynamics of a Poliovirus Epidemic Model显示文摘Most developing countries such as Afghanistan,Pakistan,India,Bangladesh, and many more are still fighting against poliovirus.According to the World Health Organization, approximately eighteen million people have been infected with poliovirus in the last two decades. In Asia, still, some countries are suffering from the virus. The stochastic behavior of the poliovirus through the transition probabilities and non-parametric perturbation with fundamental properties are studied. Some basic properties of the deterministic model are studied, equilibria, local stability around the stead states, and reproduction number.Euler Maruyama, stochastic Euler, and stochastic Runge-Kutta study the behavior of complex stochastic differential equations. The main target of this study is to develop a nonstandard computational method that restores dynamical features like positivity, boundedness, and dynamical consistency.Unfortunately, the existing methods failed to fix the actual behavior of the disease. The comparison of the proposed approach with existing methods is investigated. | Ali Raza Dumitru Baleanu Zafar Ullah Khan Muhammad Mohsin Nauman Ahmed Muhammad Rafiq Pervez Anwar | 2023 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2023,,7: | 1
Automated Video Generation of Moving Digits from Text Using Deep Deconvolutional Generative Adversarial Network显示文摘Generating realistic and synthetic video from text is a highly challenging task due to the multitude of issues involved, including digit deformation, noise interference between frames, blurred output, and the need for temporal coherence across frames. In this paper,we propose a novel approach for generating coherent videos of moving digits from textual input using a Deep Deconvolutional Generative Adversarial Network(DD-GAN).The DDGAN comprises a Deep Deconvolutional Neural Network(DDNN)as a Generator(G)and a modified Deep Convolutional Neural Network(DCNN)as a Discriminator(D)to ensure temporal coherence between adjacent frames. The proposed research involves several steps.First, the input text is fed into a Long Short Term Memory(LSTM)based text encoder and then smoothed using Conditioning Augmentation(CA)techniques to enhance the effectiveness of the Generator(G).Next, using a DDNN to generate video frames by incorporating enhanced text and random noise and modifying a DCNN to act as a Discriminator(D),effectively distinguishing between generated and real videos. This research evaluates the quality of the generated videos using standard metrics like Inception Score(IS),Fréchet Inception Distance(FID),Fréchet Inception Distance for video(FID2vid),and Generative Adversarial Metric(GAM),along with a human study based on realism, coherence, and relevance.By conducting experiments on Single-Digit Bouncing MNIST GIFs(SBMG),Two-Digit Bouncing MNIST GIFs(TBMG),and a custom dataset of essential mathematics videos with related text, this research demonstrates significant improvements in both metrics and human study results, confirming the effectiveness of DD-GAN.This research also took the exciting challenge of generating preschool math videos from text, handling complex structures, digits, and symbols, and achieving successful results. The proposed research demonstrates promising results for generating coherent videos from textual input. | Anwar Ullah Xinguo Yu Muhammad Numan | 2023 | Computers, Materials & Continua2023,77,11: | 0
Hash Table Assisted Efficient File Level De-Duplication Scheme in SD-IoV Assisted Sensing Devices显示文摘The Internet of Things(IoT)and cloud technologies have encouraged massive data storage at central repositories.Software-defined networks(SDN)support the processing of data and restrict the transmission of duplicate values. It is necessary to use a data de-duplication mechanism to reduce communication costs and storage overhead.Existing State of the art schemes suffer from computational overhead due to deterministic or random tree-based tags generation which further increases as the file size grows. This paper presents an efficient file-level de-duplication scheme(EFDS)where the cost of creating tags is reduced by employing a hash table with key-value pair for each block of the file.Further,an algorithm for hash table-based duplicate block identification and storage(HDBIS)is presented based on fingerprints that maintain a linked list of similar duplicate blocks on the same index.Hash tables normally have a consistent time complexity for lookup, generating, and deleting stored data regardless of the input size. The experiential results show that the proposed EFDS scheme performs better compared to its counterparts. | Ghawar Said Ata Ullah Anwar Ghani Muhammad Azeem Khalid Yahya Muhammad Bilal Sayed Chhattan Shah | 2023 | Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing2023,38,10: | 0
Pashto Characters Recognition Using Multi-Class Enabled Support Vector Machine显示文摘During the last two decades signicant work has been reported in the eld of cursive language’s recognition especially,in the Arabic, the Urdu and the Persian languages. The unavailability of such work in the Pashto language is because of:the absence of a standard database and of signicant research work that ultimately acts as a big barrier for the research community. The slight change in the Pashto characters’shape is an additional challenge for researchers. This paper presents an efcient OCR system for the handwritten Pashto characters based on multi-class enabled support vector machine using manifold feature extraction techniques. These feature extraction techniques include, tools such as zoning feature extractor, discrete cosine transform, discrete wavelet transform, and Gabor lters and histogram of oriented gradients.A hybrid feature map is developed by combining the manifold feature maps. This research work is performed by developing a medium-sized dataset of handwritten Pashto characters that encapsulate 200 handwritten samples for each 44 characters in the Pashto language.Recognition results are generated for the proposed model based on a manifold and hybrid feature map.An overall accuracy rates of 63.30%,65.13%,68.55%,68.28%,67.02%and 83%are generated based on a zoning technique,HoGs,Gabor lter,DCT,DWT and hybrid feature maps respectively.Applicability of the proposed model is also tested by comparing its results with a convolution neural network model. The convolution neural network-based model generated an accuracy rate of 81.02%smaller than the multi-class support vector machine. The highest accuracy rate of 83%for the multi-class SVM model based on a hybrid feature map reects the applicability of the proposed model. | Sulaiman Khan Shah Nazir Habib Ullah Khan Anwar Hussain | 2021 | Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,6: | 0
Effect of Weather on the Spread of COVID-19 Using Eigenspace Decomposition显示文摘Since the end of 2019,the world has suffered from a pandemic of the disease called COVID-19.WHO reports show approximately 113M confirmed cases of infection and 2.5 M deaths. All nations are affected by this nightmare that continues to spread.Widespread fear of this pandemic arose not only from the speed of its transmission:a rapidly changing“normal life”became a fear for everyone.Studies have mainly focused on the spread of the virus, which showed a relative decrease in high temperature, low humidity, and other environmental conditions. Therefore, this study targets the effect of weather in considering the spread of the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 for some confirmed cases in Iraq. The eigenspace decomposition technique was used to analyze the effect of weather conditions on the spread of the disease. Our theoretical findings showed that the average number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has cyclic trends related to temperature, humidity, wind speed, and pressure. We supposed that the dynamic spread of COVID-19 exists at a temperature of 130 F.The minimum transmission is at 120 F,while steady behavior occurs at 160 F.On the other hand, during the spread of COVID-19,an increase in the rate of infection was seen at 125%humidity,where the minimum spread was achieved at 200%.Furthermore,wind speed showed the most significant effect on the spread of the virus. The spread decreases with a wind speed of 45 KPH,while an increase in the infectious spread appears at 50 KPH. | Manar A.Alqudah Thabet Abdeljawad Anwar Zeb Izaz Ullah Khan Fatma Bozkurt | 2021 | Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,12: | 0
Food Habits and Helminth Parasites of Skittering Frog(Euphlyctis cyanophlyctis)in the Lower Dir,Pakistan显示文摘A total of 30 specimens of Skittering frog(Euphlyctis cyanophlyctis),(Anura:Dicroglossidae)were captured from seven selected localities in the Dir Lower,Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan from April to August 2016.They were euthanized with the help of Chloroform(CHcl3)solution.The biometry of each specimen was measured, then dissected to examine for helminth parasites and foodstuff. All helminths were isolated, washed with normal saline at room temperature, and then preserved in 70%GL ethyl alcohol.Later on,the parasites were classified and studied under the electric compound microscope. In a total of 30 specimens,17(56.66%)were found infected with 62 helminths parasites belongs to four different species.Among four species, one was Cestodes Nematotaenia dispar species and remaining three were Nematodes i.e.Cosmocerca species,Cosmocercoides(Raillietnema species)and Strongyloides species.Cosmocerca with a percentage of 56.45%was the most dominant. In the total of 30 specimens’alimentary canal,10 were found empty, containing nothing while in remaining 20 were full of 9 types of food materials which included insects i.e.Ants,Beetles,Wasps,Spiders,Mosquito larvae and cockroaches, and non-living things like stone pebbles and mollusks shells.Among the serial, flies and snails were in the lowest prevalence and ants were recorded the most important component of the frog diet.Among the insects, ants have occurred in higher prevalence 44.50%and flies 1.15%with the lowest prevalence. The results emphasize the significance of further expected studies in the Dir Lower to get a good understanding of the helminth parasites with the ecological relations of their hosts. | Anwar Ullah Khan Mohammad Attaullah Wali Khan Abdul Waris Shah Khalid | 2020 | Journal of Zoological Research2020,2,4: | 0
Supportive tactics for innovative and sustainability performance in emerging SMEs显示文摘For this research,we examined the influence of access to domestic and international financing on sustainability performance with a mediating role of innovative performance and a moderating role of access to government support.Data were collected from 317 small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs)through structured questionnaires. The results indicated that access to domestic and international financing significantly contributes to sustainability and innovative performances.Accordingly,we found a partial mediating role of innovative performance between access to domestic financing and sustainability performance as well as between access to international financing and sustainability performance.Access to government support significantly moderates the relationship between access to domestic finances and innovative performance as well as between access to international finances and innovative performance.Practitioners and policymakers should encourage national and international financial institutions and banks to facilitate SMEs by lending them funds for innovative activities and sustainability performance. Moreover, the government should support SMEs,so that they can contribute to economic growth and the gross domestic product. The implications from these matters will be further discussed in this paper. | Farid Ullah Ma Degong Muhammad Anwar Saddam Hussain Rizwan Ullah | 2021 | Financial Innovation2021,7,1: | 0
A Decision-Based Hybrid Proxy Mobile IPv6 Scheme for Better Resources Utilization显示文摘Seamless mobility is always one of the major requirements of modern-day communication. In a heterogeneous and massive IoT environment, efficient network-based mobility protocol such as proxy mobile IPv6(PMIPv6),is potentially a good candidate for efficient mobility as well as resource utilization efficiency.Several extensions are devised for performance in the research domain. However,a multi-criterion decision-based resourceefficient PMIPv6 extension is required to achieve efficiency when network resources are overloaded. In this research,a multi-criterion decision-based PMIPv6 scheme is devised that provides better performance when the Local Mobility Anchor(LMA)or Mobile Access Gateway(MAG)is overloaded. The objective is achieved by monitoring the load status of MAG or LMA and based on their status, the proposed scheme adapts itself to provide seamless mobility in addition to optimal efficiency. The proposed scheme is compared with the existing LMA and MAG-based mobility management protocol extensions.Based on the analysis of the comparison, the obtained results prove that providing a decision-based PMIPv6 scheme is better for service continuity as well as optimal performance in the context of required buffering, handover efficiency, and necessary signaling cost. | Habib Ullah Khan Anwar Hussain Shah Nazir | 2022 | Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,12: | 0
