It was predicted that when the laser sub-cavity works near the coaxial operation point, the limitation of CDN on the bandwidth broadening is minimum, which is favorable for ultrabroadband pulse generation. On the basis of this prediction, femtosecond pulses with bandwidth of 650 to 1000 nm were directly generated from a home built KLM Ti:sapphire laser. | 6 | The effect of glutathione on glucosinolate biosynthesis through the sulfur assimilation pathway in pakchoi associated with the growth conditions显示文摘Glucosinolates(GSLs) are a group of nitrogen-and sulfur-containing secondary metabolites, synthesized primarily in members of the Brassicaceae family, that play an important role in food flavor, plant antimicrobial activity, resistance to insect attack, stress tolerance, and human anti-cancer effects. As a sulfur-containing compound, glutathione has a strong connection with GSLs biosynthesis as a sulfur donor or redox system, and exists in reduced(glutathione;GSH) and oxidized(glutathione disulfide;GSSG) forms. However, the mechanism of GSH regulating GSLs biosynthesis remainds unclear. Hence, the exogenous therapy to pakchoi under normal growth condition and sulfur deficiency condition were conducted in this work to explore the relevant mechanism. The results showed that exogenous application of buthionine sulfoximine, an inhibitor of GSH synthesis, decreased the transcript levels of GSLs synthesis-related genes and transcription factors, as well as sulfur assimilation-related genes under the normal growth condition. Application of exogenous GSH inhibited the expression of GSLs synthesis-and sulfur assimilation-related genes under the normal condition, while the GSLs biosynthesis and the sulfur assimilation pathway were activated by exogenous application of GSH when the content of GSH in vivo of plants decreased owing to sulfur deficiency. Moreover,exogenous application of GSSG increased the transcript levels of GSLs synthesis-and sulfur assimilation-related genes under the normal growth condition and under sulfur deficiency. | 7 | Analyses on the Overall Codon Usage Pattern in Fish Rhabdovirus显示文摘The codon usage bias and the base compositions in the available 49 complete fish rhabdovirus genome sequences were investigated. The high correlation between GC12% and GC3% suggested that mutational pressure rather than natural selection was the main factor determining the codon usage and base component in fish rhabdovirus,most of the spots lying below the expected curve( ENC vs GC3%) also suggested that codon usage bias in these 49 genomes was influenced by mutational pressure in codon usage pattern. Through PCA analysis based on RSCU,all ORFs in the 49 fish rhabdoviurs genomes were clustered into two parts,and this result showed that hosts played a role in codon usage pattern of fish rhabdovirus genomes. Further,comparison between SVCV,INHV,VHSV and their hosts suggested the effect of natural host on the codon usage pattern took part in the evolution process of fish rhabdovirus. | 8 | The underappreciated role of fugitive VOCs in ozone formation and health risk assessment emitted from seven typical industries in China显示文摘Fugitive emission from industrial sources may result in ozone formation and health risk,while the exact contribution of this source remains incompletely understood.In this study,emission characteristics,ozone formation potential(OFP)and health risk of fugitive VOCs in7 representative industries were investigated.Chemical material industry was the dominant contributor to VOCs of fugitive emission in comparison with other industries.The OFP of VOCs from fugitive emission was in the range of 1.45×10^(3)-3.98×10^(5)μg/m^(3),with a higher value than that of organized emission in seven industries except for the coking industry and the chemical material industry,suggesting that fugitive VOCs should be taken into account while developing control strategies.Acetaldehyde,m,p-xylene,n-nonane,ethylene,vinyl chloridethe and other high OFP-contributing species were the major reactive species that should be targeted.Health risk assessment investigated non-cancer and cancer risks of fugitive VOCs in 7 industries were all above safe level(HR>1 and LCR>1×10^(-4)),posing remarkable health threats to human health.OVOCs were the main contributor to non-cancer risk,while halohydrocarbons and aromatics contributed most to cancer risks,posing remarkable health threat on human health.Our findings highlighted the contribution of fugitive VOCs on ozone formation and health risk was underestimated,indicating which should be considered in emission control strategies of industrial sources. | Zhiling Liang Yunjiang Yu Bingbing Sun Qian Yao Xihua Lin Yongsheng Wang Jianping Zhang Yingzi Li Xuefeng Wang Zhengzheng Tang Shexia Ma | 2024 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,2: | 0 |
| 9 | Combined Echocardiography and Lung Ultrasound for Extubation Outcome Prediction in Children after Cardiac Surgery显示文摘Background:Children are at risk of extubation failure after congenital heart disease surgery.Such cases should be identified to avoid possible adverse consequences of failed extubation.This study aimed to identify ultrasound predictors of successful extubation in children who underwent cardiac surgery.Methods:Children aged 3 months to 6 years who underwent cardiac surgery(if they were intubated for>6 h and underwent a spontaneous breathing trial)were included in this study.Results:We included 83 children who underwent surgery for congenital heart disease.Transthoracic echocardiography and lung ultrasound were performed immediately before spontaneous breathing trials.Upon spontaneous breathing trial completion,respiratory parameters,including arterial blood gas analysis and frequency-to-tidal volume ratio,were similarly recorded.For outcome assessment,all children were followed up for 48 h after extubation.We successfully extubated 57 children(68.7%).These children were significantly older and weighed more but had shorter aortic cross-clamp and cardiopulmonary bypass times.Children who could not be weaned or extubated had prolonged total mechanical ventilation and pediatric intensive care unit stay.In the multivariate regression analysis,a lung ultrasound score≥12 and ejection fraction≥40%immediately before spontaneous breathing trials were the only independent predictors of successful extubation.When combined,the lung ultrasound score and an ejection fraction≥40%showed a better diagnostic performance than every other isolated variable(lung ultrasound,N-terminal-pro-B-type natriuretic peptide,and frequency-to-tidal volume ratio).Conclusions:The combination of lung ultrasound and transthoracic echocardiography immediately before the spontaneous breathing trial effectively predicts extubation outcomes in children after cardiac surgery. | Muzi Li Hong Meng Liang Zhang Yuzi Zhou Chao Liang Zhiling Luo Hao Wang | 2022 | Congenital Heart Disease2022,17,3: | 0 |
| 10 | Diversity of glucosinolates among common Brassicaceae vegetables in China显示文摘Brassicaceae vegetables are an important traditional daily food in China and around the world, which provide nutrients and phytochemicals that are beneficial for human health. Among them, Brassica and Raphanus are widely cultivated and eaten, have been evolved and/or bred for special characteristics during the long history of cultivation. Epidemiological studies suggest that the health benefits of Brassicaceae vegetables are mainly associated with glucosinolates(GSLs) and their hydrolytic products. In this review, we discuss the diversity of common consumed Brassicaceae vegetables and their GSL composition in edible parts. We also discuss the diversity factors affecting GSL content, and the diversity roles and functions of GSL. | 11 | Anaerobic biodegradation of trimethoprim with sulfate as an electron acceptor显示文摘Trimethoprim(TMP)is an antibiotic frequently detected in various environments.Microorganisms are the main drivers of emerging antibiotic contaminant degradation in the environment.However,the feasibility and stability of the anaerobic biodegradation of TMP with sulfate as an electron acceptor remain poorly understood.Here,TMP-degrading microbial consortia were successfully enriched from municipal activated sludge(AS)and river sediment(RS)as the initial inoculums.The acclimated consortia were capable of transforming TMP through demethylation,and the hydroxyl-substituted demethylated product(4-desmethyl-TMP)was further degraded.The biodegradation ofTMP followed a 3-parameter sigmoid kinetic model.The potential degraders(Acetobacterium,Desulfovibrio,Desulfbbulbus,and unidentified Peptococcaceae)and fermenters(Lentimicrobium and Petrimonas)were significantly enriched in the acclimated consortia.The AS-and RS-acclimated TMP-degrading consortia had similar core microbiomes.The anaerobic biodegradation ofTMP could be coupled with sulfate respiration,which gives new insights into the antibiotic fate in real environments and provides a new route for the bioremediation of antibiotic-contaminated environments. | Bin Liang Deyong Kong Mengyuan Qi Hui Yun Zhiling Li Ke Shi E Chen Alisa SVangnai Aijie Wang | 2019 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2019,13,6: | 0 |
