| 1 | The first offshore natural gas hydrate production test in South China Sea显示文摘Natural gas hydrates (NGH)is one of key future clean energy resources.Its industrialized development will help remit the huge demand of global natural gas,relieve the increasing pressure of the environment, and play a vital role in the green sustainable growth of human societies.Based on nearly two decades' studying on the reservoir characteristics in the South China Sea (SCS)and the knowledge of reservoir system,the China Geological Survey (CGS)conducted the first production test on an optimal target selected in Shenhu area SCS in 2017.Guided by the 'three-phase control'exploitation theory which focused on formation stabilization,technologies such as formation fluid extraction,well drilling and completing, reservoir stimulating,sand controlling,environmental monitoring,monitoring and preventing of secondary formation of hydrates were applied.The test lasted for 60 days from May 10^th when starting to pump, drop pressure and ignite to well killing on July 9^th,with gas production of 3.09×10^5 m^3 in total,which is a world record with the longest continuous duration of gas production and maximal gas yield.This successful test brings a significant breakthrough on safety control of NGH production. | Jin-fa Li Jian-liang Ye Xu-wen Qin Hai-jun Qiu Neng-you Wu Hai-long Lu Wen-wei Xie Jing-an Lu Fei Peng Zhen-qiang Xu Cheng Lu Zeng-gui Kuang Jian-gong Wei Qian-yong Liang Hong-feng Lu Bei-bei Kou | 2018 | China Geology2018,1,1: | 117 |

| 8 | Spatial-Temporal Pattern and Driving Forces of Land Use Changes in Xiamen显示文摘Using Landsat TM data of 1988, 1998 and 2001, the dynamic process of the spatial-temporal characteristics of land use changes during 13 years from 1988 to 2001 in the special economic zone of Xiamen, China was analyzed to improve understanding and to find the driving forces of land use change so that sustainable land utilization could be practiced. During the 13 years cropland decreased remarkably by nearly 11304.95 ha. The areas of rural-urban construction and water body increased by 10 152.24 ha and 848.94 ha, respectively. From 1988 to 2001, 52.5% of the lost cropland was converted into rural-urban industrial land. Rapid urbanization contributed to a great change in the rate of cropland land use during these years. Land-reclamation also contributed to a decrease in water body area as well as marine ecological and environmental destruction. In the study area 1) urbanization and industrialization, 2) infrastructure and agricultural intensification, 3) increased affluence of the farming community, and 4) policy factors have driven the land use changes. | 10 | Coking wastewater treatment for industrial reuse purpose: Combining biological processes with ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis显示文摘A full-scale plant using anaerobic, anoxic and oxic processes (A1/A2/O), along with a pilot-scale membrane bioreactor (MBR), nanofiltration (NF) and reverse osmosis (RO) integrated system developed by Shanghai Baosteel Chemical Co. Ltd., was investigated to treat coking wastewater for industrial reuse over a period of one year. The removals reached 82.5% (COD), 89.6% (BOD), 99.8% (ammonium nitrogen), 99.9% (phenol), 44.6% (total cyanide (T-CN)), 99.7% (thiocyanide (SCN-)) and 8.9% (fluoride), during the A1/A2/O biological treatment stage, and all parameters were further reduced by over 96.0%, except for fluoride (86.4%), in the final discharge effluent from the currently operating plant. The pilot-scale MBR process reduced the turbidity to less than 0.65 NTU, and most of the toxic organic compounds were degraded or intercepted by the A1/A2/O followed MBR processes. In addition, parameters including COD, T-CN, total nitrogen, fluoride, chloride ion, hardness and conductivity were significantly reduced by the NF-RO system to a level suitable for industrial reuse, with a total water production ratio of 70.7%. | 11 | Reduction of the incidence and mortality of rectal cancer bypolypectomy:a prospective cohort study in Haining County显示文摘AIM: To reduce the incidence and morlality of rectal cancerand address the hypothesis that colorectal cancer often arisefrom precursor lesion (s), either adenomas or non-alenomatous polyps, by conducting a population-basedmass screening for colorectal cancer in Haining County,Zhejiang, PRCMETHODS: From 1977 to 1980, physicians screened thepopulation of Haining County using 15 cm rigid endoscopy.Of over 240 000 participants, 4076 of them were diagnoselwith Precursor Iesions, eitler alenomas or non-adenomatous polyps, which were then removedl surgically.All individuals with precursor lesionswere followed up andreexamined by endoscopy every two to five years upto 1998.RESULTS: After the initial screening, 953 metactronousadenomas and 417 non-adenomatous polyps ware detected andremoved from the members of this cohort. Further, 27 cases ofcolorectal cancer were detected and treated. Log-rank tuestsshowed that the survival time among those cancer patients whounderwent mass screening increased significantly comparedtothat of other colorectal cancer patients (P < 0.0001). | 12 | A General Description for Chinese Medicine in Treating Premature Ovarian Failure显示文摘Premature ovarian failure(POF) is a kind of gynecological disease that causes amenorrhea, infertility, menopause and urogenital symptoms. Currently hormone replacement therapy(HRT) is the most popular choice for women with POF to get rid of menopausal syndrome. However, as the popularization of Chinese herbs made Chinese medicine(CM) shine new lights, physicians are able to treat POF with both meno-herbs and integrated therapy. HRT has its own indications and contraindications. For example, unexplained vaginal bleeding, acute liver damage, liver dysfunction, vascular embolization, and breast cancer are all contraindications of HRT, and CM is taken by more physicians as an adjuvant therapy. This review, including a range of common Chinese herbs and formulations according to the existing literature, provides a general description of CM treating POF from the aspects of mechanisms and clinical application. It also highlights acupuncture as a unique physiotherapy for POF. Although the validity of CM has been supported by the evidence of many preclinical trials, clinical trials and meta-analysis, the adverse events with CM therapy still exist and no guarantee has been made for its safety. | 17 | Lime and Phosphate Could Reduce Cadmium Uptake by Five Vegetables Commonly Grown in South China显示文摘A pot experiment was conducted in artificially Cd-contaminated (5 mg Cd kg-1) soils to investigate the feasibility of using lime (3 g kg-1) or phosphate (80 mg P kg-1) to mitigate uptake of Cd by vegetables.Five common vegetables in South China,including lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.var.ramosa Hort.),Chinese cabbage [Brassica rapa L.subsp.Chinensis (L.) var.parachinensis (L.H.Bailey) Hanect],Chinese broccoli (Brassica oleracea L.var.albiflora Kuntze),white amaranth (Amaranthus tricolor L.) and purslane (Amaranthus viridis L.),were grown in the soils and harvested after 60 d.The results showed that liming significantly reduced Cd uptake by most vegetables by 40%-50% (or a maximum of 70%),mainly due to immobilization of soil Cd.Increased availability of Ca in the soil might also contribute to the Cd uptake reduction as a result of absorption competition between Ca and Cd.Liming caused biomass reduction in white amaranth and purslane,but did not influence growth of the other vegetables.Phosphate decreased Cd uptake by vegetables by 12%-23%.Compared with lime,phosphate decreased,to a smaller extent,the bioavailability of Cd in most cases.Phosphate markedly promoted growth of vegetables.Changes in soil chemistry by adding lime or phosphate did not markedly influence nutrient uptake of vegetables except that lime increased Ca content and phosphate increased P content in shoots of the vegetables.The results suggested that a proper application of lime could be effective in reducing Cd uptake of vegetables,and phosphate could promote growth of the vegetables as well as alleviate the toxicity of Cd. | TAN Wan-Neng LI Zhi-An QIU Jing ZOU Bi LI Ning-Yu ZHUANG Ping WANG Gang | 2011 | Pedosphere2011,21,2: | 34 |
| 18 | The trend, seasonal cycle, and sources of tropospheric NO_2 over China during 1997―2006 based on satellite measurement显示文摘The characteristics of spatial and temporal distribution of tropospheric NO2 column density concen-tration over China are presented,on the basis of measurements from the satellite instruments GOME and SCIAMACHY.From these observations,monthly averaged tropospheric NO2 variations are deter-mined for the period of 1997 to 2006.The trend and seasonal cycle are also investigated.The possible source of tropospheric NO2 over megacity area is discussed in this paper.The results show a large growth of tropospheric NO2 over eastern China,especially above the industrial areas with a fast eco-nomical growth,such as,Yangtze Rive Delta region and Pearl River Delta region because of the prominent anthropogenic activity.There is a rapid increase of tropospheric NO2 over megacities in China.For instance,Shanghai had a linear significant increase in NO2 columns of ~20% per year(ref-erence year 1997) in the period of 1997―2006,which is the rapidest increase among all the selected cities.The seasonal pattern of the NO2 concentration shows a difference between the east and west in China.In the eastern part of China,an expected winter maximum in seasonal cycle is found because of the prominent anthropogenic activity and meteorological conditions.In the western part this cycle shows a NO2 maximum in summer time,which is attributed to natural emissions,especially soil emissions and lightning.A quickly increasing vehicle population may contribute to the increase of tropo-spheric NO2 over megacities in China for the remarkable correlation for vehicle population with tropospheric NO2. | ZHANG XingYing ZHANG Peng ZHANG Yan LI XiaoJing QIU Hong | 2007 | Science China Earth Sciences2007,50,12: | 30 |
