4Selective synthesis of SnO_2 hollow microspheres and nano-sheets via a hydrothermal route显示文摘We report a mild template-free hydrothermal route for selective synthesis of SnO2 hollow microspheres and nano-sheets using SnCl2 and NaOH as initial materials.By switching the solvent from water to ethanol,the formed SnO2 nanostructures changed from nano-sheets to hollow microspheres.The obtained nano-sheets were single crystalline in structure.On the basis of the characterization of intermediate products,the formation of SnO2 hollow microspheres was ascribed to a crystal growth process,while the formation of SnO2 nano-sheets was ascribed to the oxidation of SnO2 sheets during the hydrothermal process.Further characterization of the SnO2 hollow microspheres and nano-sheets by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy reveals different optical absorption properties and valence band electronic structures.In addition,the SnO2 nano-sheets and hollow microspheres exhibit different sensing properties.The present work provides a facile and simple template-free method for the synthesis of nano-structured SnO2.LI Yue GUO YanQun TAN RuiQin CUI Ping LI Yong SONG WeiJie 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,7:3
5Gypenoside ameliorates insulin resistance and hyperglycemia via the AMPK-mediated signaling pathways in the liver of type 2 diabetes mellitus mice显示文摘Gynostemma pentaphyllum,also called'Southern Ginseng'in China,is a traditional Asian folk medicinal plant.Gypenosides(Gps)are the biologically active constituents of G.pentaphyllum,which have been reported with hypoglycemic activity.However,the underlying mechanisms are unclear.The effects of two Gps(Gp-Ⅰand Gp-Ⅱ)on type 2 diabetic mellitus(T2DM)mice,induced by high-fat and high-sugar diet and streptozotocin,were evaluated to explore the mechanism of their hypoglycemic actions.Gps reduced fasting blood glucose and serum lipids,as well as significantly improved T2DM mice glucose tolerance and insulin resistance(IR).After Gps treatment,the severity of liver injury was reduced and liver glycogen content increased.In addition,Gps promoted the phosphorylation of adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase(AMPK),and downregulated the key proteins phosphoenolpyruvate carboxy kinase and glucose-6 phosphatase,in the AMPK signaling pathway.Thus,our study suggests that Gps mediate hepatic gluconeogenesis and improve IR via activating AMPK signaling pathway in T2DM mice.Mengxue Song Dehong Tan Bin Li Yanqun Wang Lin Shi 2022Food Science and Human Wellness2022,11,5:1

8Simultaneous Desorption of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons and Heavy Metals from Contaminated Soils by Rhamnolipid Biosurfactants显示文摘Hydrophobic organic compounds(HOCs)and heavy metals(HMs)are toxins that usually coexist in natural environments.Due to the differences in their properties,it remains challenging to simultaneously remove HMs and HOCs.In this study,the removal of phenanthrene(Phe)and lead(Pb)from co-contaminated soils by single rhamnolipid(RL)and mixed RL-sophorolipid(SL)biosurfactants were evaluated via soil column experiments.Biosurfactant micelle sizes were determined by dynamic light scattering,and the mechanisms of micelle solubilization were studied.The effects of biosurfactant concentrations,pH,washing agent salinity and the ageing time of polluted soils on Phe and Pb desorption efficiencies were also assessed.The substantial removal of Phe and Pb using mixed RL-SL systems,when molar fractions of RLs were 0.7,was attributed to large mixed micelle formation and lower sorption losses of these systems.The optimal pH value was 6.0,while Phe desorption was favoured at high RLs and low ionic strengths.However,the RLs concentration and ionic strength had no obvious influence on Pb removal.In addition,both Phe and Pb desorption decreased with increased ageing of the polluted soils.Combined RL-SL biosurfactants can be effective for simultaneously removing HOCs and HMs from polluted soils.WU Liang SONG Dandan YAN Lele LIANG Shengkang YANG Yanqun PENG Changsheng SHANG Yujun WANG Xiuli DONG Xueliang 2020Journal of Ocean University of China2020,19,4:0
9Successful clearance of persistent SARS-CoV-2 asymptomatic infection following a single dose of Ad5-nCoV vaccine显示文摘Persistent asymptomatic(PA)SARS-CoV-2 infections have been identified.The immune responses in these patients are unclear,and the development of effective treatments for these patients is needed.Here,we report a cohort of 23 PA cases carrying viral RNA for up to 191 days.PA cases displayed low levels of inflammatory and interferon response,weak antibody response,diminished circulating follicular helper T cells(cTfh),and inadequate specific CD4+and CD8+T-cell responses during infection,which is distinct from symptomatic infections and resembling impaired immune activation.Administration of a single dose of Ad5-nCoV vaccine to 10 of these PA cases elicited rapid and robust antibody responses as well as coordinated B-cell and cTfh responses,resulting in successful viral clearance.Vaccine-induced antibodies were able to neutralize various variants of concern and persisted for over 6 months,indicating long-term protection.Therefore,our study provides an insight into the immune status of PA infections and highlights vaccination as a potential treatment for prolonged SARS-CoV-2 infections.Shaofu Qiu Zhao Chen Airu Zhu Qiuhui Zeng Hongbo Liu Xiaoqing Liu Feng Ye Yingkang Jin Jie Wu Chaojie Yang Qi Wang Fangli Chen Lan Chen Sai Tian Xinying Du Qingtao Hu Jinling Cheng Canjie Chen Fang Li Jing Sun Yanqun Wang Jingxian Zhao Jincun Zhao Hongbin Song 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,4:0
