1Necklace-like Si@C nano?bers as robust anode materials for high performance lithium ion batteries显示文摘Silicon is believed to be a promising anode material for lithium ion batteries because of its highest theoretical capacity and low discharge potential. However, severe pulverization and capacity fading caused by huge volume change during cycling limits its practical application. In this work, necklace-like N-doped carbon wrapped mesoporous Si nanofibers(NL-Si@C) network has been synthesized via electrospinning method followed by magnesiothermic reduction reaction process to suppress these issues. The mesoporous Si nanospheres are wrapped with N-doped carbon shells network to form yolk-shell structure.Interestingly, the distance of adjacent Si@C nanospheres can be controllably adjusted by different addition amounts of SiO_2 nanospheres. When used as an anode material for lithium ion batteries, the NL-Si@C-0.5 exhibits best cycling stability and rate capability. The excellent electrochemical performances can be ascribed to the necklace-like network structure and N-doped carbon layers, which can ensure fast ions and electrons transportation, facilitate the electrolyte penetration and provide finite voids to allow large volume expansion of inner Si nanoparticles. 2Genetic and biological characteristics of the globally circulating H5N8 avian influenza viruses and the protective efficacy offered by the poultry vaccine currently used in China显示文摘The H5N8 avian influenza viruses have been widely circulating in wild birds and are responsible for the loss of over 33 million domestic poultry in Europe, Russia, Middle East, and Asia since January 2020. To monitor the invasion and spread of the H5N8 virus in China, we performed active surveillance by analyzing 317 wild bird samples and swab samples collected from 41,172 poultry all over the country. We isolated 22 H5N8 viruses from wild birds and 14 H5N8 viruses from waterfowls. Genetic analysis indicated that the 36 viruses formed two different genotypes: one genotype viruses were widely detected from different wild birds and domestic waterfowls;the other genotype was isolated from a whopper swan. We further revealed the origin and spatiotemporal spread of these two distinct H5N8 virus genotypes in 2020 and 2021. Animal studies indicated that the H5N8 isolates are highly pathogenic to chickens, mildly pathogenic in ducks, but have distinct pathotypes in mice. Moreover, we found that vaccinated poultry in China could be completely protected against H5N8 virus challenge. 3The dimension and morphology of alveolar bone at maxillaryanterior teeth in periodontitis: a retrospective analysis usingCBCT显示文摘The morphology of the alveolar bone at the maxillary anterior teeth in periodontitis patients was evaluated by cone-beam computed tomography(CBCT) to investigate the distribution of alveolar defects and provide guidance for clinical practice. Ninety periodontitis patients and 30 periodontally healthy individuals were selected to determine the morphology of the alveolar bone at the maxillary anterior teeth according to the degree of bone loss, tooth type, sex and age. The differences in the dimensions between periodontitis patients and healthy individuals were compared, and the distribution of alveolar bone defects was analyzed.A classification system was established regarding the sagittal positions and angulations of the teeth. The buccal residual bone was thicker and the lingual bone was thinner in the periodontitis patients than in the periodontally healthy individuals, and there were differences between the different tooth types, sexes and age subgroups. The buccal undercut was close to the alveolar ridge, while fenestration was reduced and the apical bone height was higher in periodontitis patients than in periodontally healthy individuals.The apical bone height increased with the aggravation of bone loss and age. The proportions of different sagittal positions changed with the aggravation of bone loss. 4Microsatellite polymorphisms of Sichuan golden monkeys显示文摘Previous study using protein electrophoresis shows no polymorphism in 44 nuclear loci of Sichuan golden monkey (Rhinopithecus roxellana), which limits our understandings of its population genetic patterns in the nuclear genome. In order to obtain sufficient information, we scanned 14 microsatellite loci in a sample of 32 individuals from its three major habitats (Minshan, Qinling and Shen-nongjia). A considerable amount of polymorphisms were detected. The average heterozygosities in the local populations were all above 0.5. The differentiations among local populations were significant. There was evidence of geneflow among subpopulations, but geneflow between Qinling and Shennongjia local populations was the weakest. Minshan and Qinling populations might have gone through recent bottlenecks. The estimation of the ratio of the effective population sizes among local populations was close to that from census sizes. Comparisons to available mitochondria data suggested that R. roxellana’s social structures played an important role in shaping its population genetic patterns. 5Sediment texture and grain-size implications: the Changjiang subaqueous delta显示文摘Sediment cores were collected from the subaqueous delta of the Changjiang Estuary. Sediment grain-size profiles and their fractal dimensions were analyzed, to elucidate responses to long-term sedimentary processes. In addition, the environmental sensitive populations of grain size have been extracted. The sediment cores can be divided into two parts, according to the sedimentary structures present. The upper part (0-12 cm) is interpreted as being the active layer, which is influenced frequently by changes in the short-term hydrodynamic environment. The lower part extends from a depth of 12 cm, to the bottom of the core. The pattern of fluctuation is linked to sediment grain size. Moreover, two grain-size sensitive populations can be identified. The fine sensitive population is 6.0-7.2 μm, which is a similar grain size to the suspended sediment from up-river. The coarse sensitive population varies from 40.7 to 57.5 μm, revealing complex changes. Thus, the riverine inputs from the Changjiang River may be an important source, which contributes to seasonal fluctuations of grain-size distribution, over the area. The sediments, with grain-sizes ranging from 0.9 to 20.3 μm, are characterised by self-similar in the fractal non-scale region. 6Distribution of organic carbon in sediments and its influences on adjacent sea area in the turbidity maximum of Changjiang Estuary in China显示文摘Distributions and sources of total organic carbon(TOC)in seabed sediments and their implications for hydrodynamics are analyzed,in the turbidity maximum of the Changjiang Estuary.Ecology ecoenvironmental effects of estuary water on the continuously increasing terrigenous organic carbon from the Changjiang River are also explored through variations of organic carbon content and water quality indicators.Results show that,hydrodynamics exert important influences on distributions of organic carbon in the turbidity maximum of Changjiang Estuary.For their redistribution effect of terrigenous organic carbon within the moving layer in the whole region,variations from land to sea are not indicated by surficial and vertical average values of TOC and total nitrogen(TN)contents in core sediment,as well as organic stable carbon isotopes in surface sediments.However,on the long-time scale,the trend of terrigenous organic carbon decreasing from land to sea is still displayed by variations of stable carbon isotopic average values becoming heavier from land to sea.Previous studies have shown that high content of Chl a cannot appear in the Changjiang Estuary in despite of adequate nourishment supply,because photosynthesis of phytoplankton is constrained by high suspended sediment concentration(SSC).However,an area with a high content of Chl a occurs,which may be caused by resuspended benthic algae with bottom fine grain-size sediments.Tremendous pressures are imposed on the environment of Changjiang Estuary,because of ultrophication trends and special hydrodynamics.Phytoplankton bloom area tends to extend from the outer sea to the mouth of Changjiang River.GAO Jianhua WANG Yaping PAN Shaoming ZHANG Rui LI Jun BAI Fenglong 2008Acta Oceanologica Sinica2008,27,4:7

8Porphyromonas gingivalis infection promotes mitochondrial dysfunction through Drp1-dependent mitochondrial fission in endothelial cells显示文摘Porphyromonas gingivalis(P.gingivalis),a key pathogen in periodontitis,has been shown to accelerate the progression of atherosclerosis(AS).However,the definite mechanisms remain elusive.Emerging evidence supports an association between mitochondrial dysfunction and AS.In our study,the impact of P.gingivalis on mitochondrial dysfunction and the potential mechanism were investigated.The mitochondrial morphology of EA.hy926 cells infected with P.gingivalis was assessed by transmission electron microscopy,mitochondrial staining,and quantitative analysis of the mitochondrial network.Fluorescence staining and flow cytometry analysis were performed to determine mitochondrial reactive oxygen species(mtROS)and mitochondrial membrane potential(MMP)levels.Cellular ATP production was examined by a luminescence assay kit.The expression of key fusion and fission proteins was evaluated by western blot and immunofluorescence.Mdivi-1,a specific Drp1 inhibitor,was used to elucidate the role of Drp1 in mitochondrial dysfunction.Our findings showed that P.gingivalis infection induced mitochondrial fragmentation,increased the mtROS levels,and decreased the MMP and ATP concentration in vascular endothelial cells.We observed upregulation of Drp1(Ser616)phosphorylation and translocation of Drp1 to mitochondria.Mdivi-1 blocked the mitochondrial fragmentation and dysfunction induced by P.gingivalis.Collectively,these results revealed that P.gingivalis infection promoted mitochondrial fragmentation and dysfunction,which was dependent on Drp1.Mitochondrial dysfunction may represent the mechanism by which P.gingivalis exacerbates atherosclerotic lesions.Tong Xu Qin Dong Yuxiao Luo Yanqing Liu Liang Gao Yaping Pan Dongmei Zhang 2021International Journal of Oral Science2021,13,3:7
9Porphyromonas gingivalis exacerbates ulcerative colitis via Porphyromonas gingivalis peptidylarginine deiminase显示文摘Abstract:Ulcerative Colitis(UC)has been reported to be related to Porphyromonas gingivalis(P.gingivalis).Porphyromonas gingivalis peptidylarginine deiminase(PPAD),a virulence factor released by P.gingivalis,is known to induce inflammatory responses.To explore the pathological relationships between PPAD and UC,we used homologous recombination technology to construct a P.gingivalis strain in which the PPAD gene was deleted(Δppad)and aΔppad strain in which the PPAD gene was restored(comΔppad).C57 BL/6 mice were orally gavaged with saline,P.gingivalis,Δppad,or comΔppad twice a week for the entire 40 days(days 0-40),and then,UC was induced by dextran sodium sulfate(DSS)solution for 10 days(days 31-40).P.gingivalis and comΔppad exacerbated DDS-induced colitis,which was determined by assessing the parameters of colon length,disease activity index,and histological activity index,butΔppad failed to exacerbate DDS-induced colitis.Flow cytometry and ELISA revealed that compared withΔppad,P.gingivalis,and comΔppad increased T helper 17(Th17)cell numbers and interleukin(IL)-17 production but decreased regulatory T cells(Tregs)numbers and IL-10 production in the spleens of mice with UC.We also cocultured P.gingivalis,Δppad,or comΔppad with T lymphocytes in vitro and found that P.gingivalis and comΔppad significantly increased Th17 cell numbers and decreased Treg cell numbers.Immunofluorescence staining of colon tissue paraffin sections also confirmed these results.The results suggested that P.gingivalis exacerbated the severity of UC in part via PPAD.Xida Zhao Jingbo Liu Chong Zhang Ning Yu Ze Lu Shuwei Zhang Yuchao Li Qian Li Junchao Liu Dongjuan Liu Yaping Pan 2021International Journal of Oral Science2021,13,3:5
10High thermal stability Cu_(2)O@OZrP micro-nano hybrids for melt-spun excellent antibacterial activity polyester fibers显示文摘Public safety incidents caused by bacterial infections have attracted widespread attention towards antibacterial textiles(fibers,fabrics,etc.).Nevertheless,it is still challenging to efficiently load inorganic nano-antibacterial materials in polymer fibers.In this work,zirconium phosphate(ZrP,layered micro-nano materials)was utilized as a micro-nano carrier.The octadecyl triphenyl phosphonium bromide(OTP)was intercalated between the ZrP sheets by the ion exchange method to improve the carrier-polymer compatibility and the antibacterial performance.Through in-situ chemical reduction,the ultra-small nano-sized cuprous oxide(Cu_(2)O<5 nm)was loaded on the outer surface of ZrP to realize the uniform and stable dispersion of the Cu_(2)O on the carrier and improve the antibacterial performance.The ZrP nanosheets loaded with Cu_(2)O and OTP(Cu_(2)O@OZrP)had excellent antibacterial properties,and the antibacterial rate against E.coli,S.aureus and C.albicans was more than 99%.The intercalation amount of OTP in Cu_(2)O@OZrP can reach 16%,and the thermal stability was excellent and a significant increase in the Zeta potential.Indeed,the decomposition temperature was greater than 350℃,which was suitable for high-temperature melt processing of polymers.Consequently,we prepared PET/Cu_(2)O@OZrP fibers using polyethylene glycol terephthalate(PET),which accounts for 70%of the total chemical fibers,as the fiber matrix.PET/Cu_(2)O@OZrP fibers exhibited excellent mechanical property and antibacterial performance when the content of Cu_(2)O@OZrP was only 0.2%.The antibacterial rate against five types of bacteria including super bacteria(MRSA,VRE)was more than 99%.Jialiang Zhou Yaping Wang Weinan Pan Hengxue Xiang Peng Li Zhe Zhou Meifang Zhu 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,22:4

12Porphyromonas gingivalis bacteremia increases the permeability of the blood-brain barrier via the Mfsd2a/Caveolin-1 mediated transcytosis pathway显示文摘Bacteremia induced by periodontal infection is an important factor for periodontitis to threaten general health. P. gingivalis DNA/virulence factors have been found in the brain tissues from patients with Alzheimer’s disease(AD). The blood-brain barrier(BBB) is essential for keeping toxic substances from entering brain tissues. However, the effect of P. gingivalis bacteremia on BBB permeability and its underlying mechanism remains unclear. In the present study, rats were injected by tail vein with P. gingivalis three times a week for eight weeks to induce bacteremia. An in vitro BBB model infected with P. gingivalis was also established. We found that the infiltration of Evans blue dye and Albumin protein deposition in the rat brain tissues were increased in the rat brain tissues with P. gingivalis bacteremia and P. gingivalis could pass through the in vitro BBB model. Caveolae were detected after P. gingivalis infection in BMECs both in vivo and in vitro. Caveolin-1(Cav-1) expression was enhanced after P. gingivalis infection.Downregulation of Cav-1 rescued P. gingivalis-enhanced BMECs permeability. We further found P. gingivalis-gingipain could be colocalized with Cav-1 and the strong hydrogen bonding between Cav-1 and arg-specific-gingipain(RgpA) were detected.Moreover, P. gingivalis significantly inhibited the major facilitator superfamily domain containing 2a(Mfsd2a) expression. Mfsd2a overexpression reversed P. gingivalis-increased BMECs permeability and Cav-1 expression. 20Epitaxial interface stabilizing iridium dioxide toward the oxygen evolution reaction under high working potentials显示文摘Proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer(PEMWE)driven by renewable electricity is a promising technique toward green hydrogen production,but the corrosive environment and high working potential pose severe challenges for developing advanced electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction(OER).Although Ir-based materials possess relatively balanced activity and stability for the OER,their dissolution behavior cannot be neglected,in particular under high working potentials.In this work,iridium dioxide(IrO_(2))nanoparticles(NPs)were anchored on the surface of exfoliated h-boron nitride(BN)nanosheets(NSs)toward the OER reaction in acid media.Highly active Ir(V)species were stabilized by the epitaxial interface between IrO_(2)and h-BN,and therefore the IrO_(2)/BN delivered stable performance at increased working potentials,while the activity of bare IrO_(2)NPs without h-BN support decreased rapidly.Also,the smaller lattice spacing of h-BN induced compressive strain for IrO_(2),resulting in improved activity.Our results demonstrate the feasibility of stabilizing highly active Ir(V)species for the OER in acid media by constructing robust interface and provide new possibilities toward designing advanced heterostructured electrocatalysts.Guoqiang Zhao Zhouxin Luo Baohua Zhang Yaping Chen Xiangzhi Cui Jian Chen Yongfeng Liu Mingxia Gao Hongge Pan Wenping Sun 2023Nano Research2023,16,4:1
