1Removal of Methyl Violet from aqueous solutions using poly (acrylic acid-co-acrylamide)/attapulgite composite显示文摘The adsorption of Methyl Violet (MV) cationic dye from aqueous solution was carried out by using crosslinked poly (acrylic acid-co-acrylamide)/attapulgite (Poly(AA-co-AM)/ATP) composite as adsorbent. The factors influencing adsorption capacity of the composite such as pH, concentration of the dye, temperature, contact time, adsorbent dosage, ionic strength and surfactant were systematically investigated. The equilibrium data fitted very well to the Langmuir isotherm and the maximum adsorption capacity reached 1194 mg/g at 30°C. The thermodynamic parameters including G0, △H0 and △S 0 for the adsorption processes of MV on the composite were also calculated, and the negative △H0 and △G0 confirmed that the adsorption process was exothermic and spontaneous. The kinetic studies showed that the adsorption process was consistent with the pseudo second-order kinetic model and the desorption studies revealed that the regeneration of the composite adsorbent can be easily achieved.YongshengWang Li Zeng Xuefeng Ren Hai Song Aiqin Wang 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,1:13
2Assessing the capacity of biochar to stabilize copper and lead in contaminated sediments using chemical and extraction methods显示文摘Because of its high adsorption capacity, biochar has been used to stabilize metals when remediating contaminated soils; to date, however, it has seldom been used to remediate contaminated sediment. A biochar was used as a stabilization agent to remediate Cu-and Pb-contaminated sediments, collected from three locations in or close to Beijing. The sediments were mixed with a palm sawdust gasified biochar at a range of weight ratios(2.5%, 5%, and 10%) and incubated for 10, 30, or 60 days. The performance of the different treatments and the heavy metal fractions in the sediments were assessed using four extraction methods, including diffusive gradients in thin films, the porewater concentration, a sequential extraction, and the toxicity characteristic leaching procedure. The results showed that biochar could enhance the stability of heavy metals in contaminated sediments. The degree of stability increased as both the dose of biochar and the incubation time increased. The sediment p H and the morphology of the metal crystals adsorbed onto the biochar changed as the contact time increased. 4Self-template formation of porous yolk-shell structure Mo-doped NiCo2O4 toward enhanced lithium storage performance as anode material显示文摘Hollow ternary metal oxides have shown enormous potential in lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),which is ascribed to their complex chemical composition,abundant active defect sites,and the synergy effect be-tween metals.In this work,we synthesized Mo-doped NiCo_(2)O_(4) porous spheres with yolk-shell structure by using a simple self-templating method.Surprisingly,other than the yolk-shell structure we had ob-tained,the inner core of the yolk-shell was also porous,which could fully enhance the electrolyte infil-tration and promote the transmission of lithium ions(Li+)and electrons(e−).The diameter of the porous core in the yolk-shell sphere was about 530 nm,and the outer shell’s thickness was up to 110 nm.In addition,the unique pores in the core appeared in the diameter of about 85 nm.With this structure,the volume expansion of the anode could be well inhibited during charge/discharge.It exhibited prominent electrochemical performance with high reversible capacity(1338 mA h g^(−1) at 100 mA g^(−1)),satisfactory cycle life(1360 mA h g^(−1) after 200 cycles at 100 mA g^(−1)),and exceptional rate capability(820 mA h g^(−1) at 2000 mA g^(−1))as anode material in LIBs.Yongqiang Ren Xiuyan Li Yinan Wang Qinghua Gong Shaonan Gu Tingting Gao Xuefeng Sun Guowei Zhou 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,7:3

6Third-order nonlinear optical properties of WTe2 films synthesized by pulsed laser deposition显示文摘The prominent third-order nonlinear optical properties of WTe2 films are studied through the Z-scan technique using a femtosecond pulsed laser at 1030 nm.Open-aperture(OA)and closed-aperture(CA)Z-scan measurements are performed at different intensities to investigate the nonlinear absorption and refraction properties of WTe2 films.OA Z-scan results show that WTe2 films always hold a saturable absorption characteristic without transition to reverse saturable absorption.Further,a large nonlinear absorption coefficientβis determined to be-3.37×10^3 cm∕GW by fitting the OA Z-scan curve at the peak intensity of 15.603 GW∕cm^2.In addition,through the slow saturation absorption model,the ground state absorption cross section,excited state absorption cross section,and absorber's density were found to be 1.4938×10^-16 cm^2,1.2536×10^-16 cm^2,and 6.2396×10^20 cm^-3,respectively.CA Z-scan results exhibit a classic peak–valley shape of the CA Z-scan signal,which reveals a self-defocusing optical effect of WTe2 films under the measured environment.Furthermore,a considerable nonlinear refractive index value n2 can be obtained at-1.629×10^-2 cm^2∕GW.Ultimately,the values of the real and imaginary parts of the third-order nonlinear susceptibility of WTe2 are roughly estimated to be-5.93×10^-9 and-1.01×10^-8 esu with the help of first-principles calculations.WTe2 possesses sizeable thirdorder nonlinear coefficients compared with other materials,which suggests that it has great potential to improve performance in nonlinear optical devices.MI HE YEQUAN CHEN LIPENG ZHU HUAN WANG XUEFENG WANG XINLONG XU ZHANYU REN 2019Photonics Research2019,7,12:1

11Environmental filtering does not necessarily prevent trait divergence: a case study of the Xilin River Basin in Inner Mongolia, China显示文摘Aims Understanding how environmental factors and human activity drive plant community assembly remains a major challenge in community ecology.Two opposing processes,namely determinis-tic environmental filtering and nondeterministic elements such as interspecies competition,can be quantified by analyzing trait distri-butions in the community-assembly process.Methods We examined the trait-mediated effects of environmental filtering and stochastic process and the distribution over time of nine traits related to vegetative growth,regenerative phase,dispersal capability,decom-position and interspecific competition in plant communities along a degradation gradient in the Xilin River Basin,Inner Mongolia,China.We analyzed the turnover of environmental trait filtering and the diver-gence/convergence of different traits along the degradation gradient.Important Findings Our results showed the following.(i)The patterns of trait distribu-tion and filtering were strongly dependent upon the degradation gradient and trait types.Most traits were filtered intensely in degraded grasslands.(ii)Plants with two different strategies showed contrasting trait-distribution patterns.The traits that were related to biological matter cycling showed divergent pat-terns in highly degraded grasslands,while convergent patterns along the overall gradient were demonstrated in traits associated with other plant strategies.This suggests that the coexistence of multiple‘biological matter cycling-related niches’might be a basic structuring pattern of plant communities in our study area.(iii)The simultaneous occurrence of strong filtering and diver-gence revealed that environmental filtering does not necessar-ily prevent competition,and that different traits show different signatures.Saruul Kang Jianming Niu Qing Zhang Dan Li Haijuan Ren Jing Ren Xuefeng Zhang Jianjun Dong 2017Journal of Plant Ecology2017,10,3:1

16Validation of American Joint Committee on Cancer 8th edition of TNM staging in resected distal pancreatic cancer显示文摘BACKGROUND In order to improve risk stratification and clinical management of the pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC),the American Joint Committee on Cancer(AJCC)has published its eighth edition staging manual.Some major changes have been introduced in the new staging system for both T and N categories.Given the rarity of resectable disease,distal pancreatic cancer is likely underrepresented in the published clinical studies,and how the impact of the staging system actually reflects on to clinical outcomes remain unclear.AIM To validate the AJCC 8th edition of TNM staging in distal PDAC.METHODS A retrospective cohort study was performed in seven academic medical centers in the United States.Clinicopathological prognostic factors associated with progression-free survival(PFS)and overall survival(OS)were evaluated through univariate and multivariate analyses.RESULTS Overall,454 patients were enrolled in the study,and were divided into 2 subgroups:Invasive intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms(IPMN)(115 cases)and non-IPMN associated adenocarcinoma(339 cases).Compared to invasive IPMN,non-IPMN associated adenocarcinomas are more common in relatively younger patients,have larger tumor size,are more likely to have positive lymph nodes,and are associated with a higher tumor(T)stage and nodal(N)stage,lymphovascular invasion,perineural invasion,tumor recurrence,and a worse PFS and OS.The cohort was predominantly categorized as stage 3 per AJCC 7th edition staging manual,and it’s more evenly distributed based on 8th edition staging manual.T and N staging of both 7th and 8th edition sufficiently stratify PFS and OS in the entire cohort,although dividing into N1 and N2 according to the 8th edition does not show additional stratification.For PDAC arising in IPMN,T staging of the 7th edition and N1/N2 staging of the 8th edition appear to further stratify PFS and OS.For PDAC without an IPMN component,T staging from both versions fails to stratify PFS and OS.CONCLUSION The AJCC 8th edition TNM staging system provides even distribution for the T staging,however,it does not provide better risk stratification than previous staging system for distal pancreatic cancer.Feng Yin Mohammed Saad Hao Xie Jingmei Lin Christopher R Jackson Bing Ren Cynthia Lawson Dipti M Karamchandani Belen Quereda Bernabeu Wei Jiang Teena Dhir Richard Zheng Christopher W Schultz Dongwei Zhang Courtney L Thomas Xuchen Zhang Jinping Lai Michael Schild Xuefeng Zhang Xiuli Liu 2020World Journal of Gastrointestinal Pharmacology and Therapeutics2020,11,2:1
