| 1 | Influence of Atmospheric Particulate Matter on Ozone in Nanjing,China:Observational Study and Mechanistic Analysis显示文摘Particulate matter with diameters of 2.5 μm or smaller(PM_(2.5)) and ozone(O_3) are major pollutants in the urban atmosphere. PM_(2.5) can affect O_3 by altering the photolysis rate and heterogeneous reactions. However, these two processes and their relative importance remain uncertain. In this paper, with Nanjing in China as the target city, we investigate the characteristics and mechanism of interactions between particles and O_3 based on ground observations and numerical modeling.In 2008, the average concentrations of PM_(2.5) and O_3 at Caochangmen station are 64.6 ± 47.4 μg m^(-3) and 24.6 ± 22.8 ppb,respectively, while at Pukou station they are 94.1 ± 63.4 μg m^(-3) and 16.9 ± 14.9 ppb. The correlation coefficient between PM_(2.5) and O_3 is -0.46. In order to understand the reaction between PM_(2.5) and O_3, we construct a box model, in which an aerosol optical property model, ultraviolet radiation model, gas phase chemistry model, and heterogeneous chemistry model,are coupled. The model is employed to investigate the relative contribution of the aforementioned two processes, which vary under different particle concentrations, scattering capability and VOCs/NOxratios(VOCs: volatile organic compounds;NOx: nitric oxide and nitrogen dioxide). Generally, photolysis rate effect can cause a greater O_3 reduction when the particle concentrations are higher, while heterogeneous reactions dominate O_3 reduction with low-level particle concentrations.Moreover, in typical VOC-sensitive regions, O_3 can even be increased by heterogeneous reactions. In Nanjing, both processes lead to O_3 reduction, and photolysis rate effect is dominant. | 2 | Sustainable Practice in Pavement Engineering through Value-Added Collective Recycling of Waste Plastic and Waste Tyre Rubber显示文摘Waste plastics,such as waste polyethylene terephthalate(PET)beverage bottles and waste rubber tyres are major municipal solid wastes,which may lead to various environmental problems if they are not appropriately recycled.In this study,the feasibility of collectively recycling the two types of waste into performance-increasing modifiers for asphalt pavements was analyzed.This study aimed to investigate the recycling mechanisms of waste PET-derived additives under the treatment of two amines,triethylenetetramine(TETA)and ethanolamine(EA),and characterize the performances of these additives in modifying rubberized bitumen,a bitumen modified by waste tyre rubber.To this end,infrared spectroscopy and thermal analyses were carried out on the two PET-derived additives(PET–TETA and PET–EA).In addition,infrared spectroscopy,viscosity,dynamic shear rheology,and multiple stress creep recovery tests were performed on the rubberized bitumen samples modified by the two PET-derived additives.We concluded that waste PET can be chemically upcycled into functional additives,which can increase the overall performance of the rubberized bitumen.The recycling method developed in this study not only helps alleviate the landfilling problems of both waste PET plastic and scrap tyres,but also turns these wastes into value-added new materials for building durable pavements. | Xiong Xu Zhen Leng Jingting Lan Wei Wang Jiangmiao Yu Yawei Bai Anand Sreeram Jing Hu | 2021 | Engineering2021,7,6: | 7 |
| 3 | Influence of carbon sources on nutrient removal in A2/O-MBRs: Availability assessment of internal carbon source显示文摘Both internal carbon source and some external carbon sources were used to improve the nutrient removal in Anaerobic-Anoxic-Oxic-Membrane Bioreactor(A^2/O-MBRs), and their technical and cost analysis was investigated. The experimental results showed that the nutrient removals were improved by all the carbon source additions. The total nitrogen and phosphorus removal efficiency were higher in the experiments with external carbon source additions than that with internal carbon source addition. It was found that pathways of nitrogen and phosphorus transform were different dependent on different carbon source additions by the mass balance analysis. With external carbon source addition, the simultaneous nitrification and denitrification occurred in aerobic zone, and the P-uptake in aerobic phase was evident. Therefore, with addition of C-MHP(internal carbon source produced from sludge pretreatment by microwave-H_2O_2 process), the denitrification and phosphorus-uptake in anoxic zone was notable. Cost analysis showed that the unit nitrogen removal costs were 57.13 CNY/kgN of C-acetate addition and 54.48 CNY/kgN of C-MHP addition, respectively. | 5 | Applications of Metal–Organic Frameworks and Their Derivatives in Electrochemical CO_(2)Reduction显示文摘Electrochemically reducing CO_(2)to more reduced chemical species is a promising way that not only enables the conversion of intermittent energy resources to stable fuels,but also helps to build a closed-loop anthropogenic carbon cycle.Among various electrocatalysts for electrochemical CO_(2)reduction,multifunctional metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)have been employed as highly efficient and selective heterogeneous electrocatalysts due to their ultrahigh porosity and topologically diverse structures.Up to now,great progress has been achieved in the design and synthesis of highly active and selective MOF-related catalysts for electrochemical CO_(2)reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR),and their corresponding reaction mechanisms have been thoroughly studied.In this review,we summarize the recent progress of applying MOFs and their derivatives in CO_(2)RR,with a focus on the design strategies for electrocatalysts and electrolyzers.We first discussed the reaction mechanisms for different CO_(2)RR products and introduced the commonly applied electrolyzer configurations in the current CO_(2)RR system.Then,an overview of several categories of products(CO,HCOOH,CH_(4),CH_(3)OH,and multi-carbon chemicals)generated from MOFs or their derivatives via CO_(2)RR was discussed.Finally,we offer some insights and perspectives for the future development of MOFs and their derivatives in electrochemical CO_(2)reduction.We aim to provide new insights into this field and further guide future research for large-scale applications. | Chengbo Li Yuan Ji Youpeng Wang Chunxiao Liu Zhaoyang Chen Jialin Tang Yawei Hong Xu Li Tingting Zheng Qiu Jiang Chuan Xia | 2023 | Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,8: | 2 |

| 11 | A new household ultrasonic cleaning method for pyrethroids in cabbage显示文摘Pyrethroid is widely used in developing countries and is a potential threat to human health.So putting forward an effective pyrethroid cleaning method is of vital importance.Clearance of fenpropathrin,cypermethrin and deltamethrin in cabbage by using ultrasonic treatment accompanied with different baking soda concentrations were investigated in this study.The results of response surface methodology showed that the maximum clearance rate was 70.61% for fenpropathrin under the optimal power,treated time,treated temperature and baking soda concentration,which were 260.02 W,10 min,20.15◦C and 0.014 g/mL,respectively.Similarly,the maximum removal efficiency was 73.72% for cypermethrin under 240 W,13.84 min,19.53℃ and 0.014 g/mL,and 92.15%for deltamethrin under 238.99 W,12.42 min,25℃ and 0.013 g/mL.The clearance rate of pyrethroid by this method was significant higher(P<0.05)than traditional cleaning methods(bathing and running water washing).The contents of the compositions such as vitamin C,total soluble sugar,protein and dietary fiber,texture and sensory evaluation of cabbage were not found obvious changes after the ultrasonic treatment combined with baking soda(P>0.05).Results showed that ultrasonic treatment combined with baking soda was an effective way to eliminate the fenpropathrin,cypermethrin and deltamethrin in cabbage without influencing cabbage quality. | Chengwei Yu Xu Huang Yawei Fan Zeyuan Deng | 2020 | Food Science and Human Wellness2020,9,3: | 1 |

Finally,corrosion resistances of the Cr_2O_3-Al_2O_3-ZrO_2 bricks in air and simulation environment were compared; and microstructure of on-site used Cr_2O_3-Al_2O_3-ZrO_2 bricks in slagging gasifiers was analyzed. The results show that the atmosphere has significant effect on the microstructure and properties of the phosphate bonded Cr_2O_3-Al_2O_3-ZrO_2 bricks. As the specimens are fired in air,the phosphate forms a composite solid solution with Cr_2O_3 and Al_2O_3,therefore,strength of the specimens is enhanced. For specimens fired in coke bed,a certain amount of gases are generated owing to the reduction of phosphate and part of Cr_2O_3,which results in the increasing number and size of the pores,bad interfacial bonding between Cr_2O_3 aggregates and matrix as well as low strength of the specimens.
