| 2 | Exosomes Released from Rabies Virus-Infected Cells May be Involved in the Infection Process显示文摘Exosomes are cell-derived vesicles that are secreted by many eukaryotic cells. It has recently attracted attention as vehicles of intercellular communication. Virus-infected cells release exosomes, which contain viral proteins, RNA, and pathogenic molecules. However, the role of exosomes in virus infection process remains unclear and needs to be further investigated.In this study, we aimed to evaluate the effects of exosomes on rabies virus infection. OptiPrep^(TM) density gradient centrifugation was used to isolate exosomes from rabies virus-infected cell culture supernatants. A rabies virus G protein enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and acetylcholinesterase activity assays were performed to verify the centrifugation fractions. Exosomes were then characterized using transmission electron microscopy and Western blotting. Our results showed that rabies virus infection increased the release of exosomes. Treatment with GW4869 and si-Rab27 a, two exosomal secretion inhibitors, inhibited exosome release. Furthermore, the inhibitors reduced the levels of extracellular and intracellular viral RNA. These data indicated that exosomes may participate in the viral infection process. | 5 | Introduction of porous structure:A feasible and promising method for improving thermoelectric performance of Bi_2Te_3 based bulks显示文摘The porous p-type Bi_(0.4)Sb_(1.6)Te_3 bulks containing irregularly and randomly oriented pores were obtained by artificially controlling the relative density of sintered samples during resistance pressing sintering process. It is demonstrated that the thermoelectric performances are significantly affected by the porous structure, especially for the electrical and thermal conductivity due to the enhanced carrier scattering and phonon scattering. The increasing porosity resulted in the obvious decrease in electrical and thermal conductivity, and little change in Seebeck coefficients. It is encouraging that the reduction of thermal conductivity can compensate for the deterioration of electrical performance, leading to the enhancement in thermoelectric figure of merit(ZT). The maximum ZT value of 1.0 was obtained for the sample with a relative density of 90% at 333 K. Unfortunately, the increase in porosity also brought in obvious degradations in Vickers hardness from 51.71 to 27.74 HV. It is worth mentioning that although the Vickers hardness of the sample with a relative density of 90% decreased to 40.12 HV, it was still about twice as high as that of the zone melting sample(21.25 HV). | 9 | Penile vascular anomalies:A retrospective single center study and cumulative analysis of studies from China显示文摘Objective Penile vascular anomalies(PVAs)or hemangioma can arouse patient concern about aesthetics and cause symptoms like bleeding and sexual dysfunction.However,its low incidence and the deficiency of large-volume studies hinder urologists from making informed decisions.This study aimed to investigate the clinical features and treatment experience of PVAs at the Seventh Medical Center of PLA General Hospital,Beijing,China.Furthermore,by systematically analysis of studies on PVAs in Chinese people,we aimed to provide novel insights on the management of this condition.Methods We retrospectively investigated clinical features and pathology of surgery-treated PVAs at our center.Moreover,by systemically reviewing the literature from PubMed and the three largest medical databases(China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wan Fang,and Chinese Medical Journal Database)in China,we analyzed the clinical features and various therapies of PVAs in Chinese people.Results Between March 1,2018 and March 1,2023,a total of 356 cases with vascular anomalies were treated with surgery at out center.Only seven(2.0%)cases had lesions involving the perineum and external genitalia.All the seven cases were pathologically benign and demonstrated no recurrence over a follow-up period of 1-52 months(median 14 months).A total of 410 cases from 44 studies were selected in the cumulative analysis.Most patients(92.4%)diagnosed with PVAs were asymptomatic,and 68.8%of the patients were treated with sclerotherapy.As to the pathology,57.1%were venous malformation.Conclusion The most common PVA is venous malformation and the majority of patients are asymptomatic.Sclerotherapy and laser have emerged as viable options for treating small lesions.Surgery still has its role in treating large lesions and obtaining pathology.Although PVAs often relapse or demand multiple treatments,the prognosis is favorable. | Chong Ma Feng Gao Ran An Yawei Guan Jingfei Teng Xing Ai | 2023 | Asian Journal of Urology2023,10,4: | 0 |

| 12 | Effects of Cr and Mo elements on the microstructures and compressive properties of the in situ (TiCxNy–TiB2)/Ni cermets显示文摘In-situ(TiCxNy–TiB2)/Ni cermets with 70 wt%TiCxNy–TiB2 were successfully fabricated by combustion synthesis and hot pressing sintering in Ni-Ti-B4C-BN powder systems.The microstructures,density,compressive properties,and hardness of the TiCxNy–TiB2/Ni cermets with the addition of 0–8 wt%Cr/Mo to the Ni-Ti-B4C-BN powder systems were compared and analysed.The results showed that the ceramic particles distributed uniformly in the cermets,and the size of the ceramic particles reduced with the Cr/Mo addition.Both Cr and Mo addition can improve the hardness,compressive properties,and fracture strains of the cermets.The hardness,compressive strength,and fracture strain of the(TiCxNy–TiB2)/(Ni+Cr)cermets increased from 1561 HV,2.94 GPa,and 2.9%to 1864 HV,3.65 GPa,and 3.4%,respectively when the Cr content increased to 5 wt%.The hardness and compressive strength of the(TiCxNy–TiB2)/(Ni+Mo)cermets increased from 1561 HV and 2.94 GPa to 1902 HV and 3.43 GPa,respectively when the Mo content increased to 8 wt%.The cermets with Cr had better compressive properties than the cermets with Mo. | Fang Chang Feng Qiu Chuanlu Li Yawei Wang Qichuan Jiang | 2019 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2019,29,1: | 0 |
| 13 | Low-frequency blue energy harvesting for sustainable and active anticorrosion显示文摘Engineering materials serving in marine surroundings are inevitably corroded.The corrosive marine conditions can also be utilized to harvest kinetic ocean wave energy to solve this problem.Leveraging water–solid triboelectrification to harvest lowfrequency wave energy for active anticorrosion is promising.Existing techniques are efficient in harnessing environmental energy with frequencies higher than 3 Hz,whereas the dominated ocean waves with optimal wave spectral density fluctuate from 0.45 to 1.5 Hz.Herein,we proposed a highly efficient and sustainable blue energy-powered cathodic protection(BECP)strategy by fusing water–solid triboelectric nanogenerators and cathodic protection technology.Leveraging the highly efficient triboelectrification between the moving water and hydrophobic fluorinated ethylene propylene tube,we developed the built-in power module,enabling the harvest of ocean wave energy lower than 1.5 Hz.The generated volumetric current density is 28.9 mA·m^(-3),5–20 times higher than the values of the reported devices.Moreover,the proposed BECP performs comparably to conventional cathodic protection in corrosion inhibition.Significantly,the proposed approach can be easily applied to ships,buoys,and other offshore platforms to simultaneously realize blue energy harvesting and engineering material protection,providing an alternative to traditional active protection technology. | Miaomiao Cui Yawei Feng Hao Wu Yuankai Jin Wanbo Li Zuankai Wang | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,9: | 0 |
