1煤气化燃料电池发电系统模拟及分析显示文摘煤气化燃料电池发电技术(IGFC)是一种高效,清洁的新型煤电技术,与二氧化碳捕集与封存(CCS)技术相结合可实现真正意义上的CO_2近零排放,是未来清洁煤电技术的发展方向。本文参照美国能源部(DOE)报告中的百MW级IGFC系统工艺流程,利用Aspen plus软件建立了IGFC系统模型,模型包含煤气化、合成气净化、燃料电池发电、尾气燃烧、CO_2捕集等模块;模拟结果显示,系统主要物流模拟误差基本控制在2%以内,验证了模型准确性。以电力为单位计算系统各个模块的发、耗电量,进而得到系统发电效率。在模型的基础上模拟分析了不同操作工况,如操作压力、进料甲烷含量对系统效率的影响,结果表明:提高系统操作压力和进料中甲烷含量可以显著提高IGFC系统电效率。最后,结合研究结果对优化IGFC系统效率提出若干建议。李萍萍 刘长磊 黄斌 范为鹏 王琦 李初福 Singh Surinder 巴黎明 2018计算机与应用化学2018,35,12:10
2Novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets for optimizing the therapeutic management of melanomas显示文摘Cutaneous malignant melanoma is the most aggressive form of skin cancer with an extremely poor survival rate for the patients diagnosed with locally invasive and metastatic disease states. Intensive research has led in last few years to an improvement of the early detection and curative treatment of primary cutaneous melanomas that are confined to the skin by tumor surgical resection. However, locally advanced and disseminated melanomas are generally resistant to conventional treatments, including ionizing radiation, systemic chemotherapy, immunotherapy and/or adjuvant stem cellbased therapies, and result in the death of patients. The rapid progression of primary melanomas to locally invasive and/or metastatic disease states remains a major obstacle for an early effective diagnosis and a curative therapeutic intervention for melanoma patients. Importantly, recent advances in the melanoma research have led to the identification of different gene products that are often implicated in the malignant transforma-tion of melanocytic cells into melanoma cells, including melanoma stem/progenitor cells, during melanoma initiation and progression to locally advanced and metastatic disease states. The frequent deregulated genes products encompass the oncogenic B-Raf V600 E and N-RasQ 61 R mutants, different receptor tyrosine kinases and developmental pathways such as epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR), stem cell-like factor(SCF) receptor KIT, hedgehog, Wnt/β-catenin, Notch, stromal cell-derived factor-1(SDF-1)/CXC chemokine receptor-4(CXCR4) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)/VEGFR receptor. These growth factors can cooperate to activate distinct tumorigenic downstream signaling elements and epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)-associated molecules, including phosphatidylinositol 3'-kinase(PI3K)/Akt/ molecular target of rapamycin(mT OR), nuclear factor-kappaB(NF-κB), macrophage inhibitory cytokine-1(MIC-1), vimentin, snail and twist. 3Membrane-bound mucins and mucin terminal glycans expression in idiopathic or Helicobacter pylori, NSAID associated peptic ulcers显示文摘AIM:To determine the expression of membrane-bound mucins and glycan side chain sialic acids in Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)-associated,non-steroidal inflammatory drug(NSAID)-associated and idiopathic-gastric ulcers.METHODS:We studied a cohort of randomly selected patients with H.pylori(group 1,n=30),NSAID(group 2,n=18),combined H.pylori and NSAID associated gastric ulcers(group 3,n=24),and patients with idiopathic gastric ulcers(group 4,n=20).Immunohistochemistry for MUC1,MUC4,MUC17,and staining for Erythrina cristagalli agglutinin and Sambucus nigra agglutinin(SNA)lectins was performed on sections from the ulcer margins.RESULTS:Staining intensity of MUC17 was higher in H.pylori ulcers(group 1)than in idiopathic ulcers(group4),11.05±3.67 vs 6.93±4.00 for foveola cells,and10.29±4.67 vs 8.00±3.48 for gland cells,respectively(P<0.0001).In contrast,MUC1 expression was higher in group 4 compared group 1,9.89±4.17 vs 2.93±5.13 in foveola cells and 7.63±4.60 vs 2.57±4.50 for glands,respectively(P<0.0001).SNA lectin staining was increased in group 4,in parallel to elevated MUC1expression,indicating more abundantα2-6 sialylation in that group.CONCLUSION:Cytoplasmic MUC17 staining was sig-nificantly decreased in the cases with idiopathic ulcer.The opposite was observed for both MUC1 and SNA lectin.This observation may reflect important pathogenic mechanisms,since different mucins with altered sialylation patterns may differ in their protection efficiency against acid and pepsin.Yaron Niv Doron Boltin Marisa Halpern Miriam Cohen Zohar Levi Alex Vilkin Sara Morgenstern Vahig Manugian Erica St Lawrence Pascal Gagneux Sukhwinder Kaur Poonam Sharma Surinder K Batra Samuel B Ho 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,40:5
4Recent progress of amine modified sorbents for capturing CO2 from flue gas显示文摘Under the Paris agreement, China has committed to reducing CO_2 emissions by 60%–65% per unit of GDP by 2030.Since CO_2 emissions from coal-fired power plants currently account for over 30% of the total carbon emissions in China, it will be necessary to mitigate at least some of these emissions to achieve this goal. Studies by the International Energy Agency(IEA) indicate CCS technology has the potential to contribute 14% of global emission reductions, followed by 40% of higher energy efficiency and 35% of renewable energy, which is considered as the most promising technology to significantly reduce carbon emissions for current coal-fired power plants.Moreover, the announcement of a Chinese national carbon trading market in late 2017 signals an opportunity for the commercial deployment of CO_2 capture technologies.Currently, the only commercially demonstrated technology for post-combustion CO_2 capture technology from power plants is solvent-based absorption. While commercially viable, the costs of deploying this technology are high. This has motivated efforts to develop more affordable alternatives, including advanced solvents, membranes,and sorbent capture systems. Of these approaches, advanced solvents have received the most attention in terms of research and demonstration. In contrast, sorbent capture technology has less attention, despite its potential for much lower energy consumption due to the absence of water in the sorbent. This paper reviews recent progress in the development of sorbent materials modified by amine functionalities with an emphasis on material characterization methods and the effects of operating conditions on performance. 5Review of materials used in laser-aided additive manufacturing processes to produce metallic products显示文摘Rapid prototyping (RP) or layered manufacturing (LM) technologies have been extensively used to manufacture prototypes composed mainly of plastics, polymers, paper, and wax due to the short product development time and low costs of these technologies. However, such technologies, with the exception of selective laser melting and sintering, are not used to fabricate metallic products because of the resulting poor life, short cycle, poor surface finish, and low structural integrity of the fabricated parts. The properties endowed by these parts do not match those of functional parts. Therefore, extensive research has been conducted to develop new additive manufacturing (AM) technologies by extending existing RP technologies. Several AM technologies have been developed for the fabrication of metallic objects. These technologies utilize materials, such as Ni-, A1-, and Ti-based alloys and stainless steel powders, to fabricate high-quality functional components. The present work reviews the type of materials used in laserbased AM processes for the manufacture of metallic products. The advantages and disadvantages of processes and different materials are summarized, and future research directions are discussed in the final section. 8Yoga: A tool for improving the quality of life in chronic pancreatitis显示文摘AIM: To determine the effectiveness of yoga on improv- ing the quality of life in patients of chronic pancreatitis. METHODS: The patients were randomized to two groups. The control group continued their usual care as directed by their physicians. Patients in the yoga group, in addition, received biweekly yoga sessions for 12 wk. The patients’ demographic and health behaviour variables were assessed before and after the yoga pro- gramme using Medical Outcomes Short Form (SF-36) for quality of life, Profile of Mood States for assessing mood and Symptoms of Stress Inventory for measuring stress. RESULTS: A total of 60 patients were enrolled, with 8 drop-outs.T hirty patients were randomized to the yoga group and 30 to the control group. Significant improve- ments were seen in overall quality of life, symptoms of stress, mood changes, alcohol dependence and appetite after the 12 wk period apart from the general feeling of well-being and desire to continue with the programme in future in the yoga group, while there was no difference in the control group. 9Endoscopic ultrasound guided interventional procedures显示文摘Endoscopic ultrasound(EUS) has emerged as an important diagnostic and therapeutic modality in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy. EUS provides access to many organs and lesions which are in proximity to the gastrointestinal tract and thus giving an opportunity to target them for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes. This modality also provides a real time opportunityto target the required area while avoiding adjacent vascular and other structures. Therapeutic EUS has found role in management of pancreatic fluid collections, biliary and pancreatic duct drainage in cases of failed endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, drainage of gallbladder, celiac plexus neurolysis/blockage, drainage of mediastinal and intra-abdominal abscesses and collections and in targeted cancer chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Infact, therapeutic EUS has emerged as the therapy of choice for management of pancreatic pseudocysts and recent innovations like fully covered removable metallic stents have improved results in patients with organised necrosis. Similarly, EUS guided drainage of biliary tract and pancreatic duct helps drainage of these systems in patients with failed cannulation, inaccessible papilla as with duodenal/gastric obstruction or surgically altered anatomy. EUS guided gall bladder drainage is a useful emergent procedure in patients with acute cholecystitis who are not fit for surgery. EUS guided celiac plexus neurolysis and blockage is more effective and less morbid vis-à-vis the percutaneous technique. The field of interventional EUS is rapidly advancing and many more interventions are being continuously added. 11In vitro investigation of the effect of dairy propionibacteria on rumen pH,lactic acid and volatile fatty acids显示文摘Ruminal acidosis is a prevalent disorder in ruminants such as dairy cows and feedlot beef cattle, caused primarily by the inclusion of a high percentage of readily fermentable concentrates in the diet. The disorder presents as an accumulation of lactic acid, a decrease of p H in the rumen and a subsequent imbalance of the rumen fermentation process with detrimental impacts on the animal's health and productivity. Dairy propionibacteria, a group of bacteria characterised by utilization of lactic acid as the favoured carbon source, with propionic acid produced as a by-product, were evaluated in this study as potential direct-fed microbials for use in controlling ruminal acidosis. Acidosis was simulated by introduction of high concentrations of lactic acid into rumen fluid samples and a multi-strain in vitro analysis was conducted, whereby changes in p H and lactic acid metabolism were compared in identical acidified rumen samples, following inoculation with various propionibacteria. This was followed by a study to evaluate the effect of bacterial inoculation dosage on acid metabolism. The results indicated that lactic acid levels in the rumen fluid were significantly reduced, and propionic acid and acetic acid concentrations both significantly increased, following addition of propionibacteria. Significant ‘between strains' differences were observed, with Propionibacterium acidopropionici 341, Propionibacterium freudenreichii CSCC 2207, Propionibacterium jensenii NCFB 572 and P. jensenii 702 each producing more rapid reduction of lactic acid concentration than P. freudenreichii CSCC 2206, P. acidopropionici ATCC 25562 and Propionibacterium thoenii ATCC 4874. Furthermore, the efficacy of this application was dosage related, with the rates of reduction in lactic acid levels and production of propionic acid, both significantly greater for the higher(1010 cfu mL^(-1)) compared with lower(105 cfu mL^(-1)) dosage inoculation. 14GDF15 promotes prostate cancer bone metastasis and colonization through osteoblastic CCL2 and RANKL activation显示文摘Bone metastases occur in patients with advanced-stage prostate cancer(PCa). The cell-cell interaction between PCa and the bone microenvironment forms a vicious cycle that modulates the bone microenvironment, increases bone deformities, and drives tumor growth in the bone. However, the molecular mechanisms of PCa-mediated modulation of the bone microenvironment are complex and remain poorly defined. Here, we evaluated growth differentiation factor-15(GDF15) function using in vivo preclinical PCa-bone metastasis mouse models and an in vitro bone cell coculture system. Our results suggest that PCa-secreted GDF15 promotes bone metastases and induces bone microarchitectural alterations in a preclinical xenograft model. Mechanistic studies revealed that GDF15 increases osteoblast function and facilitates the growth of PCa in bone by activating osteoclastogenesis through osteoblastic production of CCL2 and RANKL and recruitment of osteomacs. 17Arterial pH,bicarbonate levels and base deficit at presentation as markers of predicting mortality in acute pancreatitis:a single-centre prospective study显示文摘Background.Arterial blood gas(ABG)parameters such as pH form part of multi-parameter scoring systems for predicting severe acute pancreatitis;however,literature on detailed evaluation of ABG alone in this context is scarce.Methods.Patients with acute pancreatitis presenting to our unit between January 2012 and November 2013 were prospectively studied.ABG analysis was done at admission and development of organ failure,any need for intervention,and mortality were noted.The association between various parameters of ABG analysis and the development of organ failure or local complications,need for interventions(endoscopic/radiological/surgical)and mortality were analysed.Results.Two hundred and five patients(mean age:39.33-13.85 years;61.0%males)were prospectively studied.The aetiology of acute pancreatitis was alcohol in 93 patients(45.4%)and gall stone disease in 73(35.6%).Organ failure developed in 71.2%patients and 83.9%had local complications.In 18%of patients,endoscopic/radiological/surgical interventions were needed and 14.6%died.The patients(n=35)with metabolic acidosis(pH<7.35)suffered higher frequency of organ failure,need for interventions and mortality.Patients with low arterial bicarbonate levels,as well as higher base deficit,also displayed higher frequency of organ failure,need for interventions and mortality.The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves for pH<7.35,bicarbonate<22 meq/L and base deficit of>4 meq/L for prediction of mortality were 0.771(95%CI:0.664–0.878),0.707(95%CI:0.622–0.791)and 0.780(95%CI:0.693–0.867),respectively.Conclusion.Arterial pH,bicarbonate levels,and base deficit at presentation are useful early markers for predicting adverse outcome in acute pancreatitis.Vishal Sharma Thingbaijam Shanti Devi Ravi Sharma Puneet Chhabra Rajesh Gupta Surinder S.Rana Deepak K.Bhasin 2014Gastroenterology Report2014,2,3:1
