1Discovery and Significance of High CH_4 Primary Fluid Inclusions in Reservoir Volcanic Rocks of the Songliao Basin,NE China显示文摘Comparing compositions of the fluid inclusions in volcanic rocks to the contents and isotopes of the gases in corresponding volcanic reservoirs using microthermometry, Raman microspectroscopy and mass spectrum analysis, we found that: (1) up to 82 mole% methane exists in the primary inclusions hosted in the reservoir volcanic rocks; (2) high CH4 inclusions recognized in the volcanic rocks correspond to CH4-bearing CO2 reservoirs that are rich in helium and with a high 3He/4He ratio and which show reversed order of δ 13C in alkane; (3) in gas reservoirs of such abiotic methane (>80%) and a mix of CH4 and CO2, the enclosed content of CH4 in the volcanic inclusions is usually below 42 mole%, and the reversed order of δ 13C in alkane is sometimes irregular in the corresponding gas pools; (4) a glassy inclusion with a homogeneous temperature over 900°C also contains a small portion of CH4 although predominantly CO2. 3Microvessel changes in the gerbil hippocampus after cerebral ischemia and reperfusion by Buyang Huanwu decoction pretreatment显示文摘Buyang Huanwu decoction(BYHWD) is a classic recipe for the prevention and treatment of ischemic cerebrovascular disease.Gerbils were pretreated with BYHWD,and then subjected to cerebral ischemia and reperfusion.Microvascular changes were determined with laser Doppler monitoring,tannic acid-ferric chloride mordant,and electron microscopy.Results showed that BYHWD pretreatment could enhance the function of hippocampal microvessels,prevent injury,and increase microvasular density and microvasular area density.Thus,these results suggest that BYHWD pretreatment could prevent microvascular occlusion,enhance the capacity of microvascular reperfusion,increase cerebral blood flow,and inhibit neuronal damage,and may be an effective therapy against brain ischemic injury.Xiaoguang Wu Yixue Li Haixia Liu Yuhua Yin Shumin Zhao Yuanyuan Guo 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,9:11

6Variation in cis-regulation of a NAC transcription factor contributes to drought tolerance in wheat显示文摘Drought is a major environmental factor limiting wheat production worldwide,and developing drought-tolerant cultivars is a central challenge for wheat breeders globally.Therefore,it is important to identify genetic components determining drought tolerance in wheat.In this study,we identified a wheat NAC gene(TaNAC071-A)that is tightly associated with drought tolerance by a genome-wide association study.Knockdown of TaNAC071-A in wheat attenuated plant drought tolerance,whereas its overexpression significantly enhanced drought tolerance through improved water-use efficiency and increased expression of stress-responsive genes.This heightened water-saving mechanism mitigated the yield loss caused by water deficit.Further candidate gene association analysis showed that a 108-bp insertion in the promoter of TaNAC071-A alters its expression level and contributes to variation in drought tolerance among wheat accessions.This insertion contains two MYB cis-regulatory elements(CREs)that can be directly bound by the MYB transcription activator,TaMYBL1,thereby leading to increased TaNAC071-A expression and plant drought tolerance.Importantly,introgression of this 108-bp insertion allele,TaNAC071-AIn-693,into drought-sensitive cultivars could improve their drought tolerance,demonstrating that it is a valuable genetic resource for wheat breeding.Taken together,our findings highlight a major breakthrough in determining the genetic basis underlying phenotypic variation in wheat drought tolerance and showcase the potential of exploiting CRE-containing indels for improving important agronomical traits.Hude Mao Shumin Li Bin Chen Chao Jian Fangming Mei Yifang Zhang Fangfang Li Nan Chen Tian Li Linying Du Li Ding Zhongxue Wang Xinxiu Cheng Xiaojing Wang Zhensheng Kang 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,2:9

8Mammalian ALKBH1 serves as an N^6-mA demethylase of unpairing DNA显示文摘N^6-methyladenine(N^6-mA)of DNA is an emerging epigenetic mark in mammalian genome.Levels of N^6-mA undergo drastic fluctuation during early embryogenesis,indicative of active regulation.Here we show that the 2-oxoglutarate-dependent oxygenase ALKBH1 functions as a nuclear eraser of N^6-mA in unpairing regions(e.g.,SIDD,Stress-Induced DNA Double Helix Destabilization regions)of mammalian genomes.Enzymatic profiling studies revealed that ALKBH1 prefers bubbled or bulged DNAs as substrate,instead of single-stranded(ss-)or double-stranded(ds-)DNAs.Structural studies of ALKBH1 revealed an unexpected“stretch-out”conformation of its“Flip1”motif,a conserved element that usually bends over catalytic center to facilitate substrate base flipping in other DNA demethylases.Thus,lack of a bending“Flip1”explains the observed preference of ALKBH1 for unpairing substrates,in which the flipped N^6-mA is primed for catalysis.Co-crystal structural studies of ALKBH1 bound to a 21-mer bulged DNA explained the need of both flanking duplexes and a flipped base for recognition and catalysis.Key elements(e.g.,an ALKBH1-specificα1 helix)as well as residues contributing to structural integrity and catalytic activity were validated by structurebased mutagenesis studies.Furthermore,ssDNA-seq and DIP-seq analyses revealed significant co-occurrence of base unpairing regions with N^6-mA in mouse genome.Collectively,our biochemical,structural and genomic studies suggest that ALKBH1 is an important DNA demethylase that regulates genome N^6-mA turnover of unpairing regions associated with dynamic chromosome regulation.Min Zhang Shumin Yang Raman Nelakanti Wentao Zhao Gaochao Liu Zheng Li Xiaohui Liu Tao Wu Andrew Xiao Haitao Li 2020Cell Research2020,30,3:6
9Arbitrary polarization conversion dichroism metasurfaces for all-in-one full Poincare sphere polarizers显示文摘The control of polarization,an essential property of light,is of broad scientific and technological interest.Polarizers are indispensable optical elements for direct polarization generation.However,arbitrary polarization generation,except that of common linear and circular polarization,relies heavily on bulky optical components such as cascading linear polarizers and waveplates.Here,we present an effective strategy for designing all-in-one full Poincare sphere polarizers based on perfect arbitrary polarization conversion dichroism and implement it in a monolayer all-dielectric metasurface.This strategy allows preferential transmission and conversion of one polarization state located at an arbitrary position on the Poincare sphere to its handedness-flipped state while completely blocking its orthogonal state.In contrast to previous methods that were limited to only linear or circular polarization,our method manifests perfect dichroism of nearly 100%in theory and greater than 90%experimentally for arbitrary polarization states.By leveraging this attractive dichroism,our demonstration of the generation of polarization beams located at an arbitrary position on a Poincare sphere directly from unpolarized light can substantially extend the scope of meta-optics and dramatically promote state-of-the-art nanophotonic devices.Shuai Wang Zi-Lan Deng Yujie Wang Qingbin Zhou Xiaolei Wang Yaoyu Cao Bai-Ou Guan Shumin Xiao Xiangping Li 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,2:6
10Subaquatic volcanic eruptions in continental facies and their influence on high quality source rocks shown by the volcanic rocks of a faulted depression in Northeast China显示文摘This paper reports the analysis on cores and rock slices,data on seismic and logging activities,characteristics of core samples,and the paleogeographic background of the Yingcheng Formation of the Xujiaweizi faulted depression in the Songliao Basin.The results show that some of the volcanic rocks were formed during subaquatic eruptions.These subaqueous volcanic rocks are further characterized by the interbedded black mudstone and tuffite,the presence of double-layer perlite enclosing aphyric or sparsely phyric rhyolite,the presence of a bentonite layer,and the coefficient of oxidation(Fe2O3/FeO).The types of rocks are volcanic breccia,lava breccias,perlite,rhyolite,tuff and sedimentary tuff.The subaquatic eruptions are distributed mainly in Wangjiatun,Shengping,Xuxi,Xuzhong,and Xudong.The XS-1 area is the most typical.The organic abundance of overburden mud rocks within the volcanic rocks of the Yingcheng Formation indicates that these rocks represent high-quality source rocks.The analysis also shows that continental subaquatic volcanic eruptions provide a rich supply of minerals and energies for the lake basin and increase the organic matter content in the water.Moreover,the water differentiation provides a good reducing environment for the conservation of organic matter,and is beneficial for the formation of high-quality source rocks.Finally,we propose a hypothesis to describe the mode of subaquatic eruptions and the formation of high-quality source rocks.SHAN XuanLong LI JiYan CHEN ShuMin RAN QingChang CHEN GuiBiao LIU Chao 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,11:6

12Synthesis of Mg-based composite material with in-situ formed LaH_3 and its hydrogen storage characteristics显示文摘In this work,a Mg-based composite material with in-situ formed LaH3, Mg_2 NiH_4-LiBH_4 + 20 wt% LaH3,was prepared by ball milling LiBH_4 and hydrogenated LaMg_2 Ni and Mg_2 Ni powder mixture, followed by heat treatment at 573 K. The onset dehydrogenation temperature of the composite is reduced by 50 K compared with that of Mg_2 NiH_4-LiBH_4. The LaH3-doped composite shows faster kinetics,absorbing1.43 wt% hydrogen within 100 s at 423 K,which is 6.5 times faster than Mg_2 NiH_4-LiBH4. Moreover,the composite releases 1.24 wt% hydrogen within 500 s at 573 K,0.69 wt% higher than Mg_2 NiH_4-LiBH_4. The activation energy of the composite is reduced by 8.2 and 80 kJ/mol compared with that of Mg_2 NiH_4-LiBH_4 and commercial MgH_2, respectively. 15Differentiation of neuron-like cells from mouse parthenogenetic embryonic stem cells显示文摘Parthenogenetic embryonic stem cells have pluripotent differentiation potentials,akin to fertilized embryo-derived embryonic stem cells.The aim of this study was to compare the neuronal differentiation potential of parthenogenetic and fertilized embryo-derived embryonic stem cells.Before differentiation,karyotype analysis was performed,with normal karyotypes detected in both parthenogenetic and fertilized embryo-derived embryonic stem cells.Sex chromosomes were identified as XX.Immunocytochemistry and quantitative real-time PCR detected high expression of the pluripotent gene,Oct4,at both the mRNA and protein levels,indicating pluripotent differentiation potential of the two embryonic stem cell subtypes.Embryonic stem cells were induced with retinoic acid to form embryoid bodies,and then dispersed into single cells.Single cells were differentiated in N2 differentiation medium for 9 days.Immunocytochemistry showed parthenogenetic and fertilized embryo-derived embryonic stem cells both express the neuronal cell markers nestin,βIII-tubulin and myelin basic protein.Quantitative real-time PCR found expression of neurogenesis related genes(Sox-1,Nestin,GABA,Pax6,Zic5 and Pitx1) in both types of embryonic stem cells,and Oct4 expression was significantly decreased.Nestin and Pax6 expression in parthenogenetic embryonic stem cells was significantly higher than that in fertilized embryo-derived embryonic stem cells.Thus,our experimental findings indicate that parthenogenetic embryonic stem cells have stronger neuronal differentiation potential than fertilized embryo-derived embryonic stem cells.Xingrong Yan Yanhong Yang Wei Liu Wenxin Geng Huichong Du Jihong Cui Xin Xie Jinlian Hua Shumin Yu Liwen Li Fulin Chen 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,4:4
16Phase structure and hydrogen storage properties of LaMg_(3.70)Ni_(1.18) alloy显示文摘The phase structure and hydrogen storage properties of LaMg 3.70 Ni 1.18 alloy were investigated. The LaMg 3.70 Ni 1.18 alloy consists of main LaMg 2 Ni phase, minor La 2 Mg 17 and LaMg 3 phases. The alloy can be activated in the first hydriding/dehydriding process, and initial LaMg 2 Ni, La 2 Mg 17 , and LaMg 3 phases transfer to LaH 2.34 , Mg, and Mg 2 Ni phases after activation. The reversible hydrogen storage capacity of the LaMg 3.70 Ni 1.18 alloy is 2.47 wt.% at 558 K, which is higher than that of the LaMg 2 Ni alloy. The pressure-composition-temperature (PCT) curves display two hydriding plateaus, corresponding to the formation of MgH 2 and Mg 2 NiH 4 . However, only one dehydriding plateau is observed, owing to the synergetic effect of hydrogen desorption between MgH 2 and Mg 2 NiH 4 . The uptake time for hydrogen content to reach 99% of saturated state is less than 250 s, and 90% hydrogen can be released in 1200 s in the experimental conditions, showing fast kinetics in hydriding and dehydriding. The activation energies of the LaMg 3.70 Ni 1.18 alloy are -51.5 ± 1.1 kJ/mol and -57.0 ± 0.6 kJ/mol for hydriding and dehydriding, respectively. 18Rabdosia serra alleviates dextran sulfate sodium salt-induced colitis in mice through anti-inflammation,regulating Th17/Treg balance,maintaining intestinal barrier integrity,and modulating gut microbiota显示文摘Rabdosia serra(R.serra),an important component of Chinese herbal tea,has traditionally been used to treat hepatitis,jaundice,cholecystitis,and colitis.However,the chemical composition of R.serra and its effect against colitis remain unclear.In this study,the chemical composition of the water extract of R.serra was analyzed using ultra performance liquid chromatography coupled with a hybrid linear ion trap quadrupole-orbitrap mass spectrometer(UPLC-LTQ-Orbitrap-MS).A total of 46 compounds,comprising ent-kaurane diterpenoids,flavonoids,phenolic acids,and steroids,were identified in the water extract of R.serra,and the extract could significantly alleviate dextran sulfate sodium salt-induced colitis by improving colon length,upregulating anti-inflammatory factors,downregulating proinflammatory factors,and restoring the balance of T helper 17/T regulatory cells.R.serra also preserved intestinal barrier function by increasing the level of tight junction proteins(zonula occludens 1 and occludin)in mouse colonic tissue.In addition,R.serra modulated the gut microbiota composition by increasing bacterial richness and diversity,increasing the abundance of beneficial bacteria(Muribaculaceae,Bacteroides,Lactobacillus,and Prevotellaceae_UCG-001),and decreasing the abundance of pathogenic bacteria(Turicibacter,Eubacterium_fissicatena_group,and Eubacterium_xylanophilum_group).Gut microbiota depletion by antibiotics further confirmed that R.serra alleviated colitis in a microbiota-dependent manner.Overall,our findings provide chemical and biological evidence for the potential application of R.serra in the management of colitis.Hongyi Li Yi Wang Shumin Shao Hui Yu Deqin Wang Chuyuan Li Qin Yuan Wen Liu Jiliang Cao Xiaojuan Wang Haibiao Guo Xu Wu Shengpeng Wang 2022Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2022,12,6:4

20Defensive deception framework against reconnaissance attacks in the cloud with deep reinforcement learning显示文摘Implementing defensive deception in the cloud is promising to proactively counter reconnaissance attack. This technique presents decoys to camouflage cloud assets and distracts attack resource. However,the major challenge is to develop an effective deception strategy to orchestrate digital decoys. To address this issue, we propose a deep reinforcement learning(DRL)-based defensive deception framework. First,we formulate a utility function, which mathematically models underlying threats associated with common vulnerabilities among virtual machines in the cloud. Then, we customize training interfaces and the neural networks for a DRL agent. The reward function reflects the effectiveness of asset concealment and the waste of attack resources, referring to a comprehensive defense goal. Finally, the well-trained DRL agent generates the optimal defense strategy. It specifies a more granular deception strategy than existing proposals. Simulation results show that the proposed framework leads to a 7.87% average advantage in realizing the comprehensive defense goal. Moreover, it can stably improve the concealment degree of cloud assets up to 20.58%, and increase the attack cost up to 40.40%.
