Machine Learning-based USD/PKR Exchange Rate Forecasting Using Sentiment Analysis of Twitter Data显示文摘This study proposes an approach based on machine learning to forecast currency exchange rates by applying sentiment analysis to messages on Twitter(called tweets).A dataset of the exchange rates between the United States Dollar(USD)and the Pakistani Rupee(PKR)was formed by collecting information from a forex website as well as a collection of tweets from the business community in Pakistan containing finance-related words. The dataset was collected in raw form, and was subjected to natural language processing by way of data preprocessing.Response variable labeling was then applied to the standardized dataset, where the response variables were divided into two classes:“1”indicated an increase in the exchange rate and“−1”indicated a decrease in it.To better represent the dataset,we used linear discriminant analysis and principal component analysis to visualize the data in three-dimensional vector space.Clusters that were obtained using a sampling approach were then used for data optimization.Five machine learning classifiers—the simple logistic classifier, the random forest, bagging,naïve Bayes, and the support vector machine—were applied to the optimized dataset. The results show that the simple logistic classifier yielded the highest accuracy of 82.14%for the USD and the PKR exchange rates forecasting.Samreen Naeem Wali Khan Mashwani Aqib Ali M.Irfan Uddin Marwan Mahmoud Farrukh Jamal Christophe Chesneau 2021Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,6:1
Detection of Babesia bovis in blood samples and its effect on the hematological and serum biochemical profile in large ruminants from Southern Punjab显示文摘Objective:To determine the presence of Babesia bovis(B.bovis)in large ruminants in southern Punjab and its effect on hematological and serum biochemical profile of host animals. Methods:Blood samples were collected from 144 large ruminants, including 105 cattle and 39 buffaloes, from six flistricts in southern Punjab including Multan,Layyali,Muzaffar Garh,Bhakar.Bahawalnagar and Vehari.Data on the characteristics of animals and herds were collected through questionnaires.Different blood(hemoglobin, glucose)and serum(ALT.AST,I.DH,cholesterol)parameters of calves and cattle were measured and compared between parasite positive and negative samples to demonstrate the effect of B.bovis on the blood and serological profile of infected animals.Results:27 out of 144 animals, from 5 out of 6 sampling districts, produced the541-bp fragment specific for B.bovis.Age of animals(P=0.02),presence of ticks on animals(P=0.04)and presence of ticks on dogs associated with herds(P=0.5)were among the major risk factors involved in the spread of bovine babesiosis in the study area.ALT concentrations were the only serum biochemical values that significantly varied between parasite positive and negative cattle. Conclusions:This study has reported for the first time the presence of B.bavis in large ruminant and the results can lead to the prevention of babesiosis in the region to increase the livestock output.Samreen Zulfiqar Sadia Shahnawaz Muhammad Ali Arif Mahmood Bhutta Shahid Iqbal Sikandar Hayat Shazia Qadir Muhammad Latif Nazia Kiran Ali Saeed Muhammad Ali Furhan Iqbal 2012Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2012,2,2:1

Review of inflammatory bowel disease and COVID-19显示文摘The first cases of a novel corona virus infection were reported in Wuhan China in December of 2019,followed by the declaration of an international pandemic by the World Health Organization in March 2020.Early reports of the virus, now known as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2,and its clinical disease coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),has shown higher rates of morbidity and mortality in the elderly and those with pre-existing medical conditions.Of particular concern is the safety of those with compromised immune systems.Inflammatory Bowel disease(IBD)is itself caused by a disordered immune response, with the most effective medical therapies being immune suppressing or modifying. As such, the risk of COVID-19,virus related outcomes, and appropriate management of IBD patients during the global pandemic is of immediate concern to gastroenterologists worldwide. There has been a rapid accumulation of clinical data and expert opinion on the topic. This review will highlight the latest source information on clinical observation/outcomes of the IBD population and provide a concise summary of the most up to date perspectives on IBD management in the age of COVID-19.Keith Sultan Anjali Mone Laura Durbin Samreen Khuwaja Arun Swaminath 2020World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,37:1

Rice Disease Diagnosis System (RDDS)显示文摘Hitherto,Rice(Oryza Sativa)has been one of the most demanding food crops in the world, cultivated in larger quantities, but loss in both quality and quantity of yield due to abiotic and biotic stresses has become a major concern.During cultivation, the crops are most prone to biotic stresses such as bacterial, viral, fungal diseases and pests. These stresses can drastically damage the crop.Lately and erroneously recognized crop diseases can increase fertilizers costs and major yield loss which results in high financial loss and adverse impact on nation’s economy. The proven methods of molecular biology can provide accurate detection of pathogenic factors, but these methods are not accessible to the majority of the farmers, needs high costs or resources, and require domain knowledge to implement.Expert’s field inspection report provides precise crop diagnosis but continuous field inspection over the remotely placed agriculture fields is not feasible. Therefore, cost effective approach for early detection of diseases can help farmers to take necessary steps in time to boost up the crop production.Precision agriculture makes use of decision support systems built using Machine Learning(ML)or Deep Learning(DL)approaches to cut down heavy costs.Timely crop diagnosis process can be automated with the involvement of Computer Vision,Image Processing and Deep Learning(DL)based methods for more precise prediction in less cost and time.Latest research shows that more accurate image classification can be implemented using Deep Learning based Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)model. In this paper,we have proposed an automated Rice Disease Diagnosis System(RDDS)for timely, more accurate and detailed crop disease diagnosis, which consisting of two modules, they are Leaf Disease Identification(LDI)module for disease detection and Infection Intensity Estimation(IIE)module for disease severity analysis. The LDI module is based on the proposed novel RDD_CNN model that classified the eight most harmful and commonly occurring diseases,it has obtained the best test accuracy of 98.47%when compared to its first three versions. And the IIE module is designed for estimating identified disease’s intensity in terms of extent and stage of infection providing detailed and overall diagnosis report specially designed for Brown Spot disease.Sandhya Venu Vasantha Shirina Samreen Yelganamoni Lakshmi Aparna 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,10:1
Clinical outcomes of moderate to severe COVID-19 patients receiving invasive vs. non-invasive ventilation显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the in-hospital outcome of moderate to severe COVID-19 patients admitted in High Dependency Unit(HDU)in relation to invasive vs.non-invasive mode of ventilation. Methods:In this study, the patients required either non-invasive[oxygen≤10 L/min or>10 L/min through mask or nasal prongs, rebreather masks and bilevel positive airway pressure(BiPAP)]or invasive ventilation. For analysis of 30-day in hospital mortality in relation to use of different modes of oxygen,Kaplan Meier and log rank analyses were used.In the end, independent predictors of survival were determined by Cox regression analysis. Results:Invasive ventilation was required by 15.1%patients while 84.9%patients needed non-invasive ventilation.Patients with evidence of thromboembolism, high inflammatory markers and hypoxemia mainly required invasive ventilation. The 30-day in hospital mortality was 72.7%for the invasive group and 12.9%for the non-invasive group(1.8%oxygen<10 L/min,0.9%oxygen>10 L/min,3.6%rebreather mask and 4.5%BiPAP).The median time from hospital admission to outcome was 7 days for the invasive group and 18 days for the non-invasive group(P<0.05).Age,presence of co-morbidities,number of days requiring oxygen, rebreather,BiPAP and invasive ventilation were independent predictors of outcome. Conclusions:Invasive mechanical ventilation is associated with adverse outcomes possibly due to ventilator associated lung injury. Thus, protective non-invasive ventilation remains the necessary and safe treatment for severely hypoxic COVID-19 patients.Zubia Jamil Samreen Khalid Shahid Mumtaz Abbasi Yasir Waheed Jamal Ahmed 2021Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2021,14,4:1
