1Exercise as a prescription for patients with various diseases显示文摘A growing understanding of the benefits of exercise over the past few decades has prompted researchers to take an interest in the possibilities of exercise therapy.Because each sport has its own set of characteristics and physiological complications that tend to occur during exercise training,the effects and underlying mechanisms of exercise remain unclear.Thus,the first step in probing the effects of exercise on different diseases is the selection of an optimal exercise protocol.This review summarizes the latest exercise prescription treatments for 26 different diseases:musculoskeletal system diseases(low back pain,tendon injury,osteoporosis,osteoarthritis,and hip fracture),metabolic system diseases(obesity,type 2 diabetes,type 1 diabetes,and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease),cardio-cerebral vascular system diseases(coronary artery disease,stroke,and chronic heart failure),nervous system diseases(Parkinson’s disease,Huntington’s disease,Alzheimer’s disease,depression,and anxiety disorders),respiratory system diseases(chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,interstitial lung disease,and after lung transplantation),urinary system diseases(chronic kidney disease and after kidney transplantation),and cancers(breast cancer,colon cancer,prostate cancer,and lung cancer).Each exercise prescription is displayed in a corresponding table.The recommended type,intensity,and frequency of exercise prescriptions are summarized,and the effects of exercise therapy on the prevention and rehabilitation of different diseases are discussed.Xin Luan Xiangyang Tian Haixin Zhang Rui Huang Na Li Peijie Chen Ru Wang 2019Journal of Sport and Health Science2019,8,5:61
2Transplantation of UC-MSCs on collagen scaffold activates follicles in dormant ovaries of POF patients with long history of infertility显示文摘Premature ovarian failure(POF) is a refractory disease for clinical treatment with the goal of restoring fertility. In this study,umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells on a collagen scaffold(collagen/UC-MSCs) can activate primordial follicles in vitro via phosphorylation of FOXO3 a and FOXO1. Transplantation of collagen/UC-MSCs to the ovaries of POF patients rescued overall ovarian function, evidenced by elevated estradiol concentrations, improved follicular development, and increased number of antral follicles. Successful clinical pregnancy was achieved in women with POF after transplantation of collagen/UC-MSCs or UC-MSCs. 5Developing the Science Product Algorithm Testbed for Chinese Next-Generation Geostationary Meteorological Satellites:Fengyun-4 Series显示文摘Fengyun-4A(FY-4A), the first of the Chinese next-generation geostationary meteorological satellites, launched in2016, offers several advances over the FY-2: more spectral bands, faster imaging, and infrared hyperspectral measurements. To support the major objective of developing the prototypes of FY-4 science algorithms, two science product algorithm testbeds for imagers and sounders have been developed by the scientists in the FY-4 Algorithm Working Group(AWG). Both testbeds, written in FORTRAN and C programming languages for Linux or UNIX systems, have been tested successfully by using Intel/g compilers. Some important FY-4 science products, including cloud mask, cloud properties, and temperature profiles, have been retrieved successfully through using a proxy imager, Himawari-8/Advanced Himawari Imager(AHI), and sounder data, obtained from the Atmospheric Infra Red Sounder, thus demonstrating their robustness. 7Antidiabetic Effects of Gegen Qinlian Decoction via the Gut Microbiota Are Attributable to Its Key Ingredient Berberine显示文摘Gegen Qinlian Decoction(GQD),a traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)formula,has long been used for the treatment of common metabolic diseases,including type 2 diabetes mellitus.However,the main limitation of its wider application is ingredient complexity of this formula.Thus,it is critically important to identify the major active ingredients of GQD and to illustrate mechanisms underlying its action.Here,we compared the effects of GQD and berberine,a hypothetical key active pharmaceutical ingredient of GQD,on a diabetic rat model by comprehensive analyses of gut microbiota,short-chain fatty acids,proinflammatory cytokines,and ileum transcriptomics.Our results show that berberine and GQD had similar effects on lowering blood glucose levels,modulating gut microbiota,inducing ileal gene expression,as well as relieving systemic and local inflammation.As expected,both berberine and GQD treatment significantly altered the overall gut microbiota structure and enriched many butyrate-producing bacteria,including Faecalibacterium and Roseburia,thereby attenuating intestinal inflammation and lowering glucose.Levels of short-chain fatty acids in rat feces were also significantly elevated after treatment with berberine or GQD.Moreover,concentration of serum proinflammatory cytokines and expression of immune-related genes,including Nfkb1,Stat1,and Ifnrg1,in pancreatic islets were significantly reduced after treatment.Our study demonstrates that the main effects of GQD can be attributed to berberine via modulating gut microbiota.The strategy employed would facilitate further standardization and widespread application of TCM in many diseases.Xizhan Xu Zezheng Gao Fuquan Yang Yingying Yang Liang Chen Lin Han Na Zhao Jiayue Xu Xinmiao Wang Yue Ma Lian Shu Xiaoxi Hu Na Lyu Yuanlong Pan Baoli Zhu Linhua Zhao Xiaolin Tong Jun Wang 2020Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2020,18,6:29

10Protective effects of astragaloside in rats with adriamycin nephropathy and underlying mechanism显示文摘The present study was designed to determine the mechanism underlying the treatment of nephrotic syndrome using astragaloside by observing the effects of astragaloside on the expression of nephrin and podocin proteins and genes in kidneys of rats with adriamycin nephropathy. The rats were injected with adriamycin and, after successful model establishment, randomly divided into a model group, a Methylprednisolone(MP) group, and an astragaloside group. The 24-h complete urine samples were collected. Biochemical indicators were monitored, and kidney tissues were collected for pathological analysis using light microscopy and electron microscopy. The m RNA expression of nephrin and podocin was measured in the kidney tissues using the real-time q PCR, and the protein expression levels of nephrin and podocin were detected using Western blot analysis. At the end of 12 weeks of drug intervention, the urinary protein level was lower in the MP and astragaloside groups than that in the model group(P = 0.008 and P = 0.01, respectively). Serum albumin was higher in the MP and astragaloside groups than in the model group(P < 0.001 and P = 0.012, respectively). Podocytes in the MP group were nearly normal, and fusion of podocytes in the astragaloside group was significantly less than that in the control group. The nephrin and podocin m RNA and protein expression levels in the intervention groups were higher(P < 0.05) than that in the model group. 11Baicalin induces ferroptosis in bladder cancer cells by downregulating FTH1显示文摘Ferroptosis is a non-apoptotic regulated cell death caused by iron accumulation and subsequent lipid peroxidation.Currently,the therapeutic role of ferroptosis on cancer is gaining increasing interest.Baicalin an active component in Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi with anticancer potential various cancer types;however,the effects of baicalein on bladder cancer and the underlying molecular mechanisms remain largely unknown.In the study,we investigated the effect of baicalin on bladder cancer cells5637 and KU-19-19.As a result,we show baicalin exerted its anticancer activity by inducing apoptosis and cell death in bladder cancer cells.Subsequently,we for the first time demonstrate baicalin-induced ferroptotic cell death in vitro and in vivo,accompanied by reactive oxygen species(ROS) accumulation and intracellular chelate iron enrichment.The ferroptosis inhibitor deferoxamine but not necrostatin-1,chloroquine(CQ),N-acetyl-L-cysteine,L-glutathione reduced,or carbobenzoxy-valyl-alanyl-aspartyl-[O-methyl]-fluoromethylketone(Z-VAD-FMK) rescued baicalin-induced cell death,indicating ferroptosis contributed to baicalin-induced cell death.Mechanistically,we show that ferritin heavy chain1(FTH1) was a key determinant for baicalin-induced ferroptosis.Overexpression of FTH1 abrogated the anticancer effects of baicalin in both 5637 and KU19-19 cells.Taken together,our data for the first time suggest that the natural product baicalin exerts its anticancer activity by inducing FTH1-dependent ferroptosis,which will hopefully provide a prospective compound for bladder cancer treatment.Na Kong Xiaying Chen Jiao Feng Ting Duan Shuiping Liu Xueni Sun Peng Chen Ting Pan Lili Yan Ting Jin Yu Xiang Quan Gao Chengyong Wen Weirui Ma Wencheng Liu Mingming Zhang Zuyi Yang Wengang Wang Ruonan Zhang Bi Chen Tian Xie Xinbing Sui Wei Tao 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,12:23

13Hierarchical hesitant fuzzy K-means clustering algorithm显示文摘Due to the limitation and hesitation in one's knowledge,the membership degree of an element to a given set usually has a few different values,in which the conventional fuzzy sets are invalid. Hesitant fuzzy sets are a powerful tool to treat this case. The present paper focuses on investigating the clustering technique for hesitant fuzzy sets based on the K-means clustering algorithm which takes the results of hierarchical clustering as the initial clusters. 14Gut microbiota contributes to the distinction between two traditional Chinese medicine syndromes of ulcerative colitis显示文摘BACKGROUND Ulcerative colitis(UC)is considered to be closely associated with alteration of intestinal microorganisms.According to the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)theory,UC can be divided into two disease syndromes called Pi-Xu-Shi-Yun(PXSY)and Da-Chang-Shi-Re(DCSR).The relationships among gut microbiota,TCM syndromes,and UC pathogenesis have not been well investigated.AIM To investigate the role of gut microbiota in UC and the distinction of microbiota dysbiosis between PXSY and DCSR syndromes.METHODS From May 2015 to February 2016,UC patients presenting to LongHua Hospital who met the established inclusion and exclusion criteria were enrolled in this retrospective study.Fresh stool specimens of UC patients with PXSY or DCSR were collected.The feces of the control group came from the health examination population of Longhua Hospital.The composition of gut bacterial communities in stool samples was determined by the pyrosequencing of 16S ribosomal RNA.The high-throughput sequencing reads were processed with QIIME,and biological functions were predicted using Phylogenetic Investigation of Communities by Reconstruction of Unobserved States.RESULTS The composition of gut bacterial communities in 93 stool samples(30 healthy controls,32 patients with PXSY syndrome,and 31 patients with DCSR syndrome)was determined by the pyrosequencing of 16S ribosomal RNA.Beta diversity showed that the composition of the microbiota was different among the three groups.At the family level,Porphyromonadaceae,Rikeneliaceae,and Lachnospiraceae significantly decreased while Enterococcus,Streptococcus,and other potential pathogens significantly increased in UC patients compared to healthy subjects.At the genus level,Parabacteroides,Dorea,and Ruminococcus decreased while Faeca-libacterium showed increased abundance in UC compared to healthy controls.Five differential taxa were identified between PXSY and DCSR syndromes.At the genus level,a significantly increased abundance of Streptococcus was observed in DCSR patients,while Lachnoclostridium increased in PXSY patients.The differential functional pathways of the gut microbiome between the PXSY and DCSR groups mainly included lipid metabolism,immunity,and the metabolism of polypeptides.CONCLUSION Our study suggests that the gut microbiota contributes to the distinction between the two TCM syndromes of UC.Ya-Li Zhang Li-Ting Cai Jun-Yi Qi Yun-Zheng Lin Yan-Cheng Dai Na Jiao You-Lan Chen Lie Zheng Bei-Bei Wang Li-Xin Zhu Zhi-Peng Tang Rui-Xin Zhu 2019World Journal of Gastroenterology2019,25,25:19

16HuoguⅠformula prevents steroid-induced osteonecrosis in rats by down-regulating PPARγ expression and activating Wnt/LRP5/β-catenin signaling显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of HuoguⅠformula on regulation of lipid metabolism in steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head(SONFH) rats and verify our hypothesis that HuoguⅠ formula regulates lipid metabolism by down-regulating peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma(PPARγ) expression and activating Wnt signaling pathways.METHODS: Eighty-five rats were divided into four groups: control, model, Huogu 15 g/kg and Huogu30 g/kg. Six weeks later, animals were anaesthetized, femora were dissected for histopathological examination of the osteonecrotic changes and repair processes, micro computed tomography(Micro-CT)-based micro-angiography was performed to assess vascularization. Serum lipid levels were detected by haematological examination. The expressions of PPARγ, Wnt3a, low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 5(LRP5) and β-catenin were evaluated by immunohistochemistry,Western blot and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction analyses.RESULTS: The incidence of osteonecrosis, ratio of empty lacuna, adipose tissue area and adipocyte perimeter in the bone marrow were dramatically lower in the Huogu Ⅰ formula treatment groups.Bymicro-CTquantification,HuoguⅠformulatreatment dose-dependently increased vessel volume,vessel surface, percentage of vessel volume and vessel thickness of the femoral heads of SONFH rats. Levels of serum lipid in Huogu 15 g/kg and Huogu 30 g/kg groups reduced significantly.HuoguⅠformula treatment could suppress the expression of PPARγ and increase the expressions of Wnt3a, LRP5 and β-catenin at both protein and mRNA levels.CONCLUSION: The results of our present study highlight the lipid-lowering potential of Huogu Ⅰformula, and provide further evidence of the involvement of the PPARγ inhibition and Wnt/LRP5/β-catenin signaling activation in the effects of HuoguⅠformula.Yini Jiang Daobing Liu Xiangying Kong Ying Xu Weiheng Chen Na Lin 2014Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2014,34,3:18

18Characteristics of sewage sludge and distribution of heavy metal in plants with amendment of sewage sludge显示文摘In order to better understand land application of sewage sludge, the characterization of heavy metals and organic pollutants were investigated in three different sewage sludges in Shanghai City, China. It was found that the total concentrations of Cd in all of sewage sludge and total concentrations of Zn in Jinshan sewage sludge, as well as those of Zn, Cu, and Ni in Taopu sludge are higher than Chinese regulation limit of pollutants for sludge to be used in agriculture. Leachability of Hg in all of studied samples and that of Cd in Taopu sewage sludge exceed the limit values of waste solid extraction standard in China legislation. Based on the characteristics for three kinds of sewage sludge, a pot experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of soil amended with Quyang sewage sludge on the accumulation of heavy metal by Begonia semperflorens-hybr; Ophiopogon japonicus (L.F.) Ker-Gaw; Loropetalum chindense-var. rubrum; Dendranthema morifolium; Viola tricolor; Antirrhinum majus; Buxus radicans Sieb; Viburnum macrocephalum; Osmanthus fragrans Lour; Cinnamomum camphora siebold and Ligustrum lucidum ait. Results showed that 8 species of plant survived in the amended soil, and moreover they flourished as well as those cultivated in the control soil. The heavy metal concentration in plants varied with species, As, Pb, Cd and Cr concentration being the highest in the four herbaceous species studied, particularly in the roots of D. morifolium. These plants, however, did not show accumulator of As, Pb, Cd and Cr. The highest concentration of Ni and Hg was found in the roots of D. morifolium, followed by the leaves of B. semperflorens-hybr. Levels of Zn and Cu were much higher in D. morifolium than in the other plant species. D. morifolium accumulated Ni, Hg, Cu and Zn, which may contribute to the decrease of heavy metal contents in the amended soil. 19Combined Transplantation of Neural Stem Cells and Olfactory Ensheathing Cells Improves the Motor Function of Rats with Intracerebral Hemorrhage显示文摘Objective To investigate the effects of combined transplantation of neural stem cells (NSC) and olfactory ensheathing cells(OEC)on the motor function of rats with intracerebral hemorrhage.Methods In three days after a rat model of caudate nucleus hemorrhage was established,NSCs and OEC,NSC,OEC (from embryos of Wistar rats)or normal saline were injected into hematomas of rats in combined transplantation group,NSC group,OEC group,and control group,respectively.Damage of neural function was scored before and in 3,7,14,30 days after operation.Tissue after transplantation was observed by immunocytochemistry staining.Results The scores for the NSC,OEC and co-transplantation groups were significantly lower in 14 and 30 days after operation than in 3 days after operation(P<0.05).The scores for the NSC and OEC groups were significantly lower than those for the control group only in 30 days after operation(P<0.05),while the difference for the NSC-OEC group was significant in 14 days after operation(P<0.05).Immunocytochemistry staining revealed that the transplanted OEC and NSC could survive,migrate and differentiate into neurons,astrocytes,and oligodendrocytes.The number of neural precursor cells was greater in the NSC and combined transplantation groups than in the control group.The number of neurons differentiated from NSC was significantly greater in the co-transplantation group than in the NSC group.Conclusion Co-transplantation of NSC and OEC can promote the repair of injured tissue and improve the motor function of rats with intracerebral hemorrhage.ZHOU-PING TANG XUE-WEI XIE YUAN-HONG SHI NA LIU SuI-QIANG ZHU ZAI-WANG LI YUN CHEN 2010Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2010,23,1:17
