3Wheat breeding history reveals synergistic selection of pleiotropic genomic sites for plant architecture and grain yield显示文摘Diversity surveys of crop germplasm are important for gaining insights into the genomic basis for plant architecture and grain yield improvement,which is still poorly understood in wheat.In this study,we exome sequenced 287 wheat accessions that were collected in the past 100 years.Population genetics analysis identified that 6.7%of the wheat genome falls within the selective sweeps between landraces and cultivars,which harbors the genes known for yield improvement.These regions were asymmetrically distributed on the A and B subgenomes with regulatory genes being favorably selected.Genome-wide association study(GWAS)identified genomic loci associated with traits for yield potential,and two underlying genes,TaARF12 encoding an auxin response factor and TaDEP1 encoding the G-proteinγ-subunit,were located and characterized to pleiotropically regulate both plant height and grain weight.Elite single-nucleotide haplotypes with increased allele frequency in cultivars relative to the landraces were identified and found to have accumulated over the course of breeding.Interestingly,we found that TaARF12 and TaDEP1 function in epistasis with the classical plant height Rht-1 locus,leading to propose a“Green Revolution”-based working model for historical wheat breeding.Collectively,our study identifies selection signatures that fine-tune the gibberellin pathway during modern wheat breeding and provides a wealth of genomic diversity resources for the wheat research community.Aili Li Chenyang Hao Zhenyu Wang Shuaifeng Geng Meiling Jia Fang Wang Xiang Han Xingchen Kong Lingjie Yin Shu Tao Zhongyin Deng Ruyi Liao Guoliang Sun Ke Wang Xingguo Ye Chengzhi Jiao Hongfeng Lu Yun Zhou Dengcai Liu Xiangdong Fu Xueyong Zhang Long Mao 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,3:4

5Chromosomal-level genome of macadamia(Macadamia integrifolia)显示文摘Macadamia from the family Proteaceae is a plant native to Australia and has long been favoured by people for its crispy and high nutritional and medicinal value.Here,the genome of GUIRE 1(GR1),a highly heterozygous superior cultivar of macadamia nut,was sequenced and assembled using nanopore sequencing,and a 807-Mb genome(contig N50,1.9 Mb;scaffold N50,54.70 Mb)and 14 chromosomes were obtained.A total of 453 Mb(about 55.95%)repetitive sequences and 37,657 protein-coding genes were obtained by gene annotation and homologous protein comparison.Proteaceae diverged from Nelumbonaceae nearly 115.37 million years ago and from Rubiaceae about 140 million years ago.A genome-wide duplication(WGD)event occurred in macadamia 41 million years ago based on the WGD analysis.The functional enrichment analysis of M.integrifolia-specific gene families revealed their roles in signal transduction,protein phosphorylation,protein binding,and defense response.Here,a highly heterozygous genome of M.integrifolia was unlocked to provide a database for breeding and molecular mechanism research.Chengcai Xia Sirong Jiang Qiujin Tan Wenquan Wang Long Zhao Chenji Zhang Yuting Bao Qi Liu Jianjia Xiao Ke Deng Miaohua He Pengliang An Wenlin Wang Meiling Zou Zhiqiang Xia 2022Tropical Plants2022,1,1:3
6Cycle number of neoadjuvant chemotherapy might influence survival of patients with T1-4N2-3M0 nasopharyngeal carcinoma显示文摘Objective: Stage N2-3 nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC) shows a high risk of distant metastasis, which will finally cause death. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NACT) of various cycles before radical radiotherapy on distant metastasis and survival of patients with stage N2-3 diseases.Methods: In this study, a total of 1,164 consecutive patients with non-metastatic N2-3 NPC were recruited and prospectively observed. Then 231 patients who received NACT of 4 cycles(NACT=4 group) were matched 1:2:1 to 462 patients treated with NACT of 2 cycles(NACT=2 group) and 231 patients treated without NACT(NACT=0 group), according to age, histological subtype, N stage and NACT regimen. Five candidate variables(sex, T stage, concurrent chemotherapy, intensity-modulated radiation therapy and cycle number of NACT) were analyzed for their association with patients' survival.Results: After matching, the overall survival(OS), disease-free survival(DFS), local-recurrence-free survival(RFS) and distant-metastasis-free survival(MFS) of the NACT=4 group(89.2%, 81.0%, 83.3% and 84.8%,respectively) were better than those of the NACT=2 group(83.3%, 72.5%, 81.2% and 77.9%, respectively) and the NACT=0 group(74.0%, 63.2%, 74.0% and 68.8%, respectively). 12Tangeretin inhibits fungal ferroptosis to suppress rice blast显示文摘Flavonoids are polyphenolic secondary metabolites that function as signaling molecules,allopathic compounds,phytoalexins,detoxifying agents and antimicrobial defensive compounds in plants.Blast caused by the fungus Magnaporthe oryzae is a serious disease affecting rice cultivation.In this study,we revealed that a natural flavonoid,tangeretin,substantially delays the formation of M.oryzae appressoria and blocks the development of blast lesions on rice plants.Our data suggest that tangeretin has antioxidant activity that interferes with conidial cell death/ferroptosis,which is critical for M.oryzae pathogenicity.Tangeretin showed a ferroptosis inhibition efficacy comparable to the well-established liproxstatin-1.Furthermore,overexpression of the NADPH oxidases NOX1 or NOX2 significantly decreased sensitivity toward tangeretin treatment,suggesting Nox-mediated lipid peroxidation as a possible target for tangeretin in regulating redox signaling and ferroptosis in M.oryzae.Our nursery and field tests showed that application of tangeretin can effectively mitigate overall disease symptoms and prevent leaf blast.Our study reveals the plant-derived fungal ferroptosis inhibitor tangeretin as a potential and novel antifungal agrochemical for the sustainable prevention of the devastating blast disease in important cereal crops.Meiling Liang Huijuan Ye Qing Shen Xianya Jiang Guobing Cui Wenxiang Gu Lian-Hui Zhang Naweed I.Naqvi Yi Zhen Deng 2021Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2021,63,12:1

14Natural long-chain saturated fatty acids doped LNPs enabling spleen selective mRNA translation and potent cancer immunotherapy显示文摘Rationally tailored lipid nanoparticles(LNPs)with efficient and tunable delivery of mRNA in vivo are crucial for mRNA vaccines.Selective expression of antigenic protein in lymphoid tissues/organs could improve the immunostimulatory efficacy and safety of LNPs-based mRNA vaccines.Inspired by the metabolic behavior that long-chain saturated fatty acids tending to enter lymphoid tissue rather than the liver,we developed fatty acid-doped LNPs capable of mediating differential protein expressions in the liver and spleen when administered intravenously.When the molar ratio of saturated fatty acid located 60%–70%,the doped LNPs achieved the spleen selective mRNA translation.The mechanism could be attributed to the different cellular uptake behaviors of saturated fatty acids in hepatocytes.Immunization with a model antigen(ovalbumin)mRNA-loaded spleen selective LNPs,we observed enhanced antigen-specific T cell immune responses,and potent immunotherapeutic and immunoprophylactic efficacy in the mouse lymphoma model.Our natural long-chain saturated fatty acids metabolic characteristics-inspired design of LNPs for spleen-selective mRNA vaccines delivery will provide references for designing mRNA vaccines with high efficacy and safety for tumor immunotherapy.Fazhan Wang Meng Zhang Meiling Tian Jia Lou Longze Pan Xiaoke Gao Lijing Zhang Xiaohan Lou Linyu Zhu Yuqiao Sheng Ming Wang Rui Xue Wenjing Deng Shuai Shao Zhihai Qin 2024Nano Research2024,17,3:0
15Advanced preparation and application of bimetallic materials in lithium-sulfur batteries:A review显示文摘Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries are considered highly promising as next-generation energy storage systems due to high theoretical capacity(2600 Wh kg^(-1))and energy density(1675 mA h g^(-1))as well as the abundant natural reserves,low cost of elemental sulfur,and environmentally friendly properties.However,several challenges impede its commercialization including low conductivity of sulfur itself,the severe“shuttle effect”caused by lithium polysulfides(LiPSs)during charge–discharge processes,volume expansion effects and sluggish reaction kinetics.As a solution,polar metal particles and their compounds have been introduced as the main hosts for sulfur cathode due to their robust catalytic activity and adsorption capability,effectively suppressing the“shuttle effect”of Li PSs.Bimetallic alloys and their compounds with multi-functional properties exhibit remarkable electrochemical performance more readily when compared to single-metal materials.Well-designed bimetallic materials demonstrate larger specific surface areas and richer active sites,enabling simultaneous high adsorption capability and strong catalytic properties.The synergistic effect of the“adsorption-catalysis”sites accelerates the adsorptiondiffusion-conversion process of Li PSs,ultimately achieving a long-lasting Li-S battery.Herein,the latest progress and performance of bimetallic materials in cathodes,separators,and interlayers of Li-S batteries are systematically reviewed.Firstly,the principles and challenges of Li-S batteries are briefly analyzed.Then,various mechanisms for suppressing“shuttle effects”of Li PSs are emphasized at the microscale.Subsequently,the performance parameters of various bimetallic materials are comprehensively summarized,and some improvement strategies are proposed based on these findings.Finally,the future prospects of bimetallic materials are discussed,with the hope of providing profound insights for the rational design and manufacturing of high-performance bimetallic materials for LSBs.Yongbing Jin Nanping Deng Yanan Li Hao Wang Meiling Zhang Weimin Kang Bowen Cheng 2024Journal of Energy Chemistry2024,88,1:0
16Biomarker-targeted fluorescent probes for breast cancer imaging显示文摘Breast cancer has become a common tumor worldwide which seriously endangers people's health. Early diagnosis and treatment are particularly urgent in order to reduce the onset risk, mortality, and prolong the five-year survival rate. Therefore, we need a kind of diagnosis and treatment technology with high speci ficity, sensitivity and selectivity. In recent years, because of its unique properties in biological applications, fluorescence imaging has become an attractive research subject. Fluorescence imaging offers innovative ideas of targetable recognition of breast cancer cells, breast cancer imaging in vivo animal models, anticancer drugs delivery for guiding the mammary surgery via a noninvasive way with high sensitively and speci fically.
