1Ozone sensitivity analysis with the MM5-CMAQ modeling system for Shanghai显示文摘Ozone has become one of the most important air pollution issues around the world. This article applied both O 3 /(NOy-NOx) and H 2 O 2 /HNO 3 indicators to analyze the ozone sensitivity in urban and rural areas of Shanghai, with implementation of the MM5-CMAQ modeling system in July, 2007. The meteorological parameters were obtained by using the MM5 model. A regional emission inventory with spatial and temporal allocation based on the statistical data has been developed to provide input emission data to the MM5-CMAQ modeling system. Results showed that the ozone concentrations in Shanghai show clear regional differences. The ozone concentration in rural areas was much higher than that in the urban area. 2A Genomic Variation Map Provides Insights into the Genetic Basis of Spring Chinese Cabbage (Brassica rapa ssp.pekinensis)Selection显示文摘Chinese cabbage is the most consumed leafy crop in East Asian countries.However,premature bolting induced by continuous low temperatures severely decreases the yield and quality of the Chinese cabbage, and therefore restricts its planting season and geographic distribution.In the past 40years,spring Chinese cabbage with strong winterness has been selected to meet the market demand.Here,we report a genome variation map of Chinese cabbage generated from the resequencing data of 194 geographically diverse accessions of three ecotypes.In-depth analyses of the selection sweeps and genome-wide patterns revealed that spring Chinese cabbage was selected from a specific population of autumn Chinese cabbage around the area of Shandong peninsula in northern China.We identified 23 genomic loci that underwent intensive selection,and further demonstrated by gene expression and haplotype analyses that the incorporation of elite alleles of VERNALISATION INSENTIVE 3.1(BrVIN3.1)and FLOWER LOCUS C 1(BrFLC1)is a determinant genetic source of variation during selection.Moreover,we showed that the quantitative response of BrVIN3.1 to cold due to the sequence variations in the cis elements of the BrVlN3.1 promoter significantly contributes to bolting-time variation in Chinese cabbage.Collectively, our study provides valuable insights into the genetic basis of spring Chinese cabbage selection and will facilitate the breeding of bolting-resistant Varieties by molecular-marker-assisted selection,transgenic or gene editingapproaches.Tongbing Su Weihong Wang Peirong Li Bin Zhang Pan Li Xiaoyun Xin Honghe Sun Yangjun Yu Deshuang Zhang Xiuyun Zhao Changlong Wen Gang Zhou Yuntong Wang Hongkun Zheng Shuancang Yu Fenglan Zhang 2018Molecular Plant2018,11,11:6
3Methods for predicting the remaining useful life of equipment in consideration of the random failure threshold显示文摘The value range of the failure threshold will generate an uncertain influence on the prediction results for the remaining useful life(RUL) of equipment. Most of the existing studies on the RUL prediction assume that the failure threshold is a fixed value,as they have difficulty in reflecting the random variation of the failure threshold. In connection with the inadequacies of the existing research, an in-depth analysis is carried out to study the effect of the random failure threshold(RFT) on the prediction results for the RUL. First, a nonlinear degradation model with unit-to-unit variability and measurement error is established based on the nonlinear Wiener process. Second, the expectation-maximization(EM) algorithm is used to solve the estimated values of the parameters of the prior degradation model, and the Bayesian method is used to iteratively update the posterior distribution of the random coefficients. Then, the effects of three types of RFT constraint conditions on the prediction results for the RUL are analyzed, and the probability density function(PDF) of the RUL is derived. 4Complex fields in heterogeneous materials under shock:modeling, simulation and analysis显示文摘In this mini-review we summarize the progress of modeling, simulation and analysis of shock responses of heterogeneous materials in our group in recent years. The basic methodology is as below. We first decompose the problem into different scales. Construct/Choose a model according to the scale and main mechanisms working at that scale. Perform numerical simulations using the relatively mature schemes. The physical information is transferred between neighboring scales in such a way: The statistical information of results in smaller scale contributes to establishing the constitutive equation in larger one. Except for the microscopic Molecular Dynamics(MD) model, both the mesoscopic and macroscopic models can be further classified into two categories,solidic and fluidic models, respectively. The basic ideas and key techniques of the MD, material point method and discrete Boltzmann method are briefly reviewed. Among various schemes used in analyzing the complex fields and structures, the morphological analysis and the home-built software, GISO, are briefly introduced. 5Predictions of NOx/N2O emissions from an ultra-supercritical CFB boiler using a 2-D comprehensive CFD combustion model显示文摘NOx and N2O emissions from an ultra-supercritical circulating fluidized bed(CFB)boiler were predicted using a two dimensional(2-D)comprehensive computational fluid dynamics(CFD)combustion model.This model was developed from a three dimensional model for a supercritical CFB boiler previously constructed by our group.Based on an analysis of the NOx and N2O conversion processes in a CFB boiler,the primary formation and destruction reactions were introduced into the 2-D model and coupled.The resulting model was validated using data from the Baima 600 MW supercritical CFB boiler,and then applied to a 660 MW ultra-supercritical CFB boiler.The effects of excess air,the secondary air(SA)to(primary air(PA)plus SA)ratio and the SA injection height on NOx and N2O emissions were investigated.The results show that a higher excess air volume increases both NOx and N2O emissions,while increasing the SA/(PA+SA)ratio somewhat reduces both the NOx and N2O concentrations.On the basis of the results of this work,optimal locations for SA injection ports so as to lower NOx and N2O emissions are recommended.Jieqiang Ji Leming Cheng Yangjun Wei Junfeng Wang Xinyu Gao Mengxiang Fang Qinhui Wang 2020Particuology2020,18,2:4
6Identification of long noncoding RNAs involved in resistance to downy mildew in Chinese cabbage显示文摘Brassica downy mildew,a severe disease caused by Hyaloperonospora brassicae,can cause enormous economic losses in Chinese cabbage(Brassica rapa L.ssp.pekinensis)production.Although some research has been reported recently concerning the underlying resistance to this disease,no studies have identified or characterized long noncoding RNAs involved in this defense response.In this study,using high-throughput RNA sequencing,we analyzed the disease-responding mRNAs and long noncoding RNAs in two resistant lines(T12–19 and 12–85)and one susceptible line(91–112).Clustering and Gene Ontology analysis of differentially expressed genes(DEGs)showed that more DEGs were involved in the defense response in the two resistant lines than in the susceptible line.Different expression patterns and proposed functions of differentially expressed long noncoding RNAs among T12–19,12–85,and 91–112 indicated that each has a distinct disease response mechanism.There were significantly more cis-and trans-functional long noncoding RNAs in the resistant lines than in the susceptible line,and the genes regulated by these RNAs mostly participated in the disease defense response.Furthermore,we identified a candidate resistance-related long noncoding RNA,MSTRG.19915,which is a long noncoding natural antisense transcript of a MAPK gene,BrMAPK15.Via an agroinfiltration-mediated transient overexpression system and virus-induced gene silencing technology,BrMAPK15 was indicated to have a greater ability to defend against pathogens.MSTRG.19915-silenced seedlings showed enhanced resistance to downy mildew,probably because of the upregulated expression of BrMAPK15.This research identified and characterized long noncoding RNAs involved in resistance to downy mildew,laying a foundation for future in-depth studies of disease resistance mechanisms in Chinese cabbage.Bin Zhang Tongbing Su Peirong Li Xiaoyun Xin Yunyun Cao Weihong Wang Xiuyun Zhao Deshuang Zhang Yangjun Yu Dayong Li Shuancang Yu Fenglan Zhang 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:3

8Effect of naloxone on level of plasma beta-endorphin in neonates with severe asphyxia显示文摘BACKGROUND: β-endorphin is the most actively endogenous substance of cerebral endorphin. When combined with opiate receptor specially,it manifests a strong morphine-like activity and can decrease sensitivity of central nervous system to carbon dioxide so as to inhibit breath. OBJECTIVE: To observe the changes of content of plasma β-endorphin in neonates with severe asphyxia after naloxone treatment in a large dosage. DESIGN: Randomized controlled observation. SETTINGS: Department of Pediatrics,Shenzhen Shajing People's Hospital; Center of Pediatrics,Guangzhou Zhujiang Hospital. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 97 neonates with severe asphyxia including 57 boys and 40 girls were selected from Neonatal Intensive Care Unit,Department of Pediatrics,Shenzhen Shajing People's Hospital from January 2004 to November 2005. Their gestational age was (38±3) weeks,body mass was (3.2±1.7) kg,and hospitalization duration was (2.8±2.3) hours. All neonates met the diagnostic criteria of with severe asphyxia and all their parents provided the confirmed consent. METHODS: All neonates were treated with inspired oxygen,sedation,stopping terror,decreasing cranial pressure,maintaining a well blood perfusion and normal level of blood glucose (about 5.0 mmol/L). After hospitalization,0.1 mg/(kg·d) naloxone hydrochloride (Beijing Sihuan Pharmaceutical Technology Co.,Ltd.; certification: H10900021; bullet preparation; 0.4 mg/ampoule) was intravenously dribbled into neonates for 4–6 hours,14 days in total. 2 mL blood was collected from radial artery in neonates at the beginning of hospitalization and at 3 days after naloxone treatment,put in aprotinin-pre-cool tube,mixed evenly,and centrifuged at hypothermia. Plasma was maintained in refrigerator at –70 ℃. The kit was provided by Neurobiology Department of Shanghai Second Military Medical University of Chinese PLA. Concentration of plasma β-endorphin was measured by using radio-immunity assay.All data were expressed as Mean± SD and results were compared with paired t test. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE: Concentration of plasma β-endorphin. RESULTS: All 97 neonates were involved in the final analysis. Concentration of plasma β-endorphin in neonates with severe asphyxia was lower after treatment as compared with that before treatment,and there was significant difference (t =10.31,P < 0.01). 9Genome-wide analysis of changes in miRNA and target gene expression reveals key roles in heterosis for chinese cabbage biomass显示文摘Heterosis is a complex phenomenon in which hybrids show better phenotypic characteristics than their parents do.Chinese cabbage(Brassica rapa L.spp.pekinensis)is a popular leafy crop species,hybrids of which are widely used in commercial production;however,the molecular basis of heterosis for biomass of Chinese cabbage is poorly understood.We characterized heterosis in a Chinese cabbage hybrid cultivar and its parental lines from the seedling stage to the heading stage;marked heterosis of leaf weight and biomass yield were observed.Small RNA sequencing revealed 63 and 50 differentially expressed microRNAs(DEMs)at the seedling and early-heading stages,respectively.The expression levels ofthe majority of miRNA clusters in the hybrid were lower than the mid-parent values(MPVs).Using degradome sequencing,we identi fied 1,819 miRNA target genes.Gene ontology(GO)analyses demonstrated that the target genes ofthe MPV-DEMs and low parental expression level dominance(ELD)miRNAs were signi ficantly enriched in leaf morphogenesis,leaf development,and leaf shaping.Transcriptome analysis revealed that the expression levels of photosynthesis and chlorophyll synthesis-related MPV-DEGs(differentially expressed genes)were signi ficantly different in the F_(1) hybrid compared to the parental lines,resulting in increased photosynthesis capacity and chlorophyll content in the former.Furthermore,expression of genes known to regulate leaf development was also observed at the seedling stage.Arabidopsis plants overexpressing BrGRF4.2 and bra-miR396 presented increased and decreased leaf sizes,respectively.These results provide new insight into the regulation of target genes and miRNA expression patterns in leaf size and heterosis for biomass of B.rapa.Peirong Li Tongbing Su Deshuang Zhang Weihong Wang Xiaoyun Xin Yangjun Yu Xiuyun Zhao Shuancang Yu Fenglan Zhang 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:1

19Thermal Performance of a Micro Heat Pipe Array for Battery Thermal Management Under Special Vehicle-Operating Conditions显示文摘The thermal management of battery systems is critical for maintaining the energy storage capacity,life span,and thermal safety of batteries used in electric vehicles,because the operating temperature is a key factor affecting battery performance.Excessive temperature rises and large temperature differences accelerate the degradation rate of such batteries.Currently,the increasing demand for fast charging and special on-vehicle scenarios has increased the heat dissipation requirements of battery thermal management systems.To address this demand,this work proposes a novel micro heat pipe array(MHPA)for thermal management under a broadened research scope,including high heat generation rates,large tilt angles,mild vibration,and distributed heat generation conditions.The experimental results indicate that the temperature difference is maintained 3.44°C at a large heat generation of 50 W for a limited range of tilt angles.Furthermore,a mild vehicle vibra-tion condition was found to improve temperature uniformity by 3.3°C at a heat generation of 10 W.However,the use of distributed heat sources results in a temperature variation of 3.88°C,suggesting that the heat generation distribution needs to be considered in thermal analyses.Understanding the effects of these special battery-operating conditions on the MHPA could significantly contribute to the enhancement of heat transfer capability and temperature uniformity improvement of battery thermal management systems based on heat pipe technologies.This would facilitate the realization of meeting the higher requirements of future battery systems.Chengning Yao Dan Dan Yangjun Zhang Yueqi Wang Yuping Qian Yuying Yan Weilin Zhuge 2020Automotive Innovation2020,3,4:1
20Characterization of Swirling Inflow Effects on Turbine Performance under Pulsating Flows显示文摘The present study focuses on the influence of the swirling flows on flow behaviors and performance of a radial-flow turbocharger turbine under pulsating inflow condition.To characterize the effects of swirling flow,three sets of simulations of the turbine were carried out,which are an unsteady simulation under pulsating swirling inflow,an unsteady simulation under equivalent pulsating uniform inflow,and quasi-steady simulations under uniform inflow.Results proved that swirling flow has a considerable negative influence on turbine instantaneous performance and lead to 2.5%cycle-averaged efficiency reduction under pulsating flow condition.Swirling inflow would lead to significant losses in both the volute and the rotor,while the pulsating inflow leads to higher losses in the rotor and shows little influence on the losses in the volute.The instantaneous efficiency reduction of the turbine could be correlated with the time-varying inlet swirl strength.Under the influence of unsteady inlet swirls,the volute flow field is highly distorted and the free vortex relation is no longer valid.The swirling flow has strong interactions with the wake flow of the volute tongue,leading to additional losses.Relative flow angle at rotor inlet is remarkably reduced and its distribution is significantly distorted.Strong separation flows and passage vortices would appear in the rotor because of the swirling inflow,leading to inferior rotor performance.DING Zhanming WANG Cuicui ZHANG Junyue LIU Ying HOU Linlin ZHUGE Weilin ZHANG Yangjun 2022Journal of Thermal Science2022,31,5:0
