2A Chromosome-Scale Genome Assembly of Paper Mulberry(Bmussonetia papyrifera)Provides New Insights into Its Forage and Papermaking Usage显示文摘Paper mulberry(Broussonetia papyrifera)is a well-known woody tree historically used for Cai Lun papermaking,one of the four great inventions of ancient China.More recently,Paper mulberry has also been used as forage to address the shortage of feedstuff because of its digestible crude fiber and high protein contents.In this study,we obtained a chromosome-scale genome assembly for Paper mulberry using integrated approaches,including Illumina and PacBio sequencing platform as well as Hi-C,optical,and genetic maps.The assembled Paper mulberry genome consists of 386.83 Mb,which is close to the estimated size,and 99.25%(383.93 Mb)of the assembly was assigned to 13 pseudochromosomes.Comparative genomic analysis revealed the expansion and contraction in the flavonoid and lignin biosynthetic gene families,respectively,accounting for the enhanced flavonoid and decreased lignin biosynthesis in Paper mulberry.Moreover,the increased ratio of syringyl-lignin to guaiacyl-lignin in Paper mulberry underscores its suitability for use in medicine,forage,papermaking,and barkcloth making.We also identified the rootassociated microbiota of Paper mulberry and found that Pseudomonas and Rhizobia were enriched in its roots and may provide the source of nitrogen for its stems and leaves via symbiotic nitrogen fixation.Collectively,these results suggest that Paper mulberry might have undergone adaptive evolution and recruited nitrogen-fixing microbes to promote growth by enhancing flavonoid production and altering lignin monomer composition.Our study provides significant insights into genetic basis of the usefulness of Paper mulberry in papermaking and barkcloth making,and as forage.These insights will facilitate further domestication and selection as well as industrial utilization of Paper mulberry worldwide.Xianjun Peng Hui Liu Peilin Chen Feng Tang Yanmin Hu Fenfen Wang Zhi Pi Meiling Zhao Naizhi Chen Hui Chen Xiaokang Zhang Xueqing Yan Min Liu Xiaojun Fu Guofeng Zhao Pu Yao Lili Wang He Dai Xuming Li Wei Xiong Wencai Xu Hongkun Zheng Haiyan Yu Shihua Shen 2019Molecular Plant2019,12,5:18

4Chromosome-scale genome assembly provides insights into the evolution and flavor synthesis of passion fruit (Passiflora edulis Sims)显示文摘Passion fruit(Passiflora edulis Sims)is an economically valuable fruit that is cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions of the world.Here,we report an~1341.7Mb chromosome-scale genome assembly of passion fruit,with 98.91%(~1327.18Mb)of the assembly assigned to nine pseudochromosomes.The genome includes 23,171 protein-coding genes,and most of the assembled sequences are repetitive sequences,with long-terminal repeats(LTRs)being the most abundant.Phylogenetic analysis revealed that passion fruit diverged after Brassicaceae and before Euphorbiaceae.Ks analysis showed that two whole-genome duplication events occurred in passion fruit at 65 MYA and 12 MYA,which may have contributed to its large genome size.An integrated analysis of genomic,transcriptomic,and metabolomic data showed that‘alpha-linolenic acid metabolism’,‘metabolic pathways’,and‘secondary metabolic pathways’were the main pathways involved in the synthesis of important volatile organic compounds(VOCs)in passion fruit,and this analysis identified some candidate genes,including GDP-fucose Transporter 1-like,Tetratricopeptide repeat protein 33,protein NETWORKED 4B isoform X1,and Golgin Subfamily A member 6-like protein 22.In addition,we identified 13 important gene families in fatty acid pathways and eight important gene families in terpene pathways.Gene family analysis showed that the ACX,ADH,ALDH,and HPL gene families,especially ACX13/14/15/20,ADH13/26/33,ALDH1/4/21,and HPL4/6,were the key genes for ester synthesis,while the TPS gene family,especially PeTPS2/3/4/24,was the key gene family for terpene synthesis.This work provides insights into genome evolution and flavor trait biology and offers valuable resources for the improved cultivation of passion fruit.Zhiqiang Xia Dongmei Huang Shengkui Zhang Wenquan Wang Funing Ma Bin Wu Yi Xu Bingqiang Xu Di Chen Meiling Zou Huanyu Xu Xincheng Zhou Rulin Zhan Shun Song 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:15
5Original position statistic distribution analysis study of low alloy steel continuous casting billet显示文摘The homogeneity of low alloy steels continuous casting billet obtained under different technological conditions has been investigated by original position statistic distribution analysis technique. On the basis of systematic analysis of ten thousands primary optical signals at the corresponding original positions, the quantitative statistic distribution information of each element was obtained. The biggest degrees of segregation of low alloy steel continuous casting billet were calculated accurately according to the quantitative distribution maps of the contents. It was suggested that the weight ratio in a certain content range was used to judge the homogeneity of the materials, and the two models —— the total weight ratio of contents (the degree of statistic homogeneity, H) within the permissive content range (C0±R) and the median value confidence extension ratio (the degree of statistic segregation, S) at 95% of confidence limit of weight ratio —— were put forward. The two models reflect the composition and state distribution regularity of the metal materials in a large region. 6Minor alloying behavior in bulk metallic glasses and high-entropy alloys显示文摘The effect of minor alloying on several bulk metallic glasses and high-entropy al-loys was studied. It was found that minor Nb addition can optimize the interface structure between the W fiber and the Zr-based bulk metallic glass in the compos-ites,and improve the mechanical properties. Minor Y addition can destabilize the crystalline phases by inducing lattice distortion as a result to improve the glass-forming ability,and the lattice distortion energy is closely related to the effi-ciency of space filling of the competing crystalline phases. A long-period ordered structure can precipitate in the Mg-based bulk metallic glass by yttrium alloying. 7Coercivity enhancement of nanocrystalline hot-deformed Nd-Fe-B magnets by low-melting eutectic MM-Cu(MM=La,Ce,Pr,Nd) alloys addition显示文摘MM85Cu15(MM = La,Ce,Pr,Nd) eutectic alloys were added into the hot-deformed Nd-Fe-B magnets to enhance the coercivity.It is found that three endothermic peaks occur on the differential scanning calorimetry curve of the MM-Cu melt-spun ribbons at 432.2,451.1 and 516.5℃.The peaks substantially correspond to three types of MM-Cu low-melting eutectic phase.The coercivity of magnets increases when the MM-Cu content is lower than 4 wt%,and then keeps almost no change with the content further increasing to 5 wt%.The coercivity of the hot-deformed magnets with 4 wt% and without MM-Cu addition is 948 and 683 kA/m,respectively.Nearly all the platelet-shaped grains are isolated by the thickened intergranular phase after MM-Cu addition.Moreover,the average grain size of the magnets with MM-Cu addition decreases compared with that of the magnet without MM-Cu addition.Scanning electron microscopy images show that the areal fraction of the RE-rich grain boundary phase increases from 8.6% to 15.1% after MM-Cu addition.The La,Ce together with Cu and Ga aggregate at the grain boundary regions separating neighboring grains and smoothing the grain boundaries.Therefore,both the thickened grain boundary and decreased mean grain size result in the enhancement of coercivity after MM-Cu eutectic alloy addition.Zheng Jing Zhaohui Guo Younian He Meiling Zhang Xin Wang Minggang Zhu Wei Li 2020Journal of Rare Earths2020,38,6:9
8The apricot(Prunus armeniaca L.)genome elucidates Rosaceae evolution and beta-carotenoid synthesis显示文摘Apricots,scientifically known as Prunus armeniaca L,are drupes that resemble and are closely related to peaches or plums.As one of the top consumed fruits,apricots are widely grown worldwide except in Antarctica.A high-quality reference genome for apricot is still unavailable,which has become a handicap that has dramatically limited the elucidation of the associations of phenotypes with the genetic background,evolutionary diversity,and population diversity in apricot.DNA from P.armeniaca was used to generate a standard,size-selected library with an average DNA fragment size of~20 kb.The library was run on Sequel SMRT Cells,generating a total of 16.54 Gb of PacBio subreads(N50=13.55 kb).The high-quality P.armeniaca reference genome presented here was assembled using long-read single-molecule sequencing at approximately 70×coverage and 171×Illumina reads(40.46 Gb),combined with a genetic map for chromosome scaffolding.The assembled genome size was 221.9 Mb,with a contig NG50 size of 1.02 Mb.Scaffolds covering 92.88%of the assembled genome were anchored on eight chromosomes.Benchmarking Universal Single-Copy Orthologs analysis showed 98.0%complete genes.We predicted 30,436 protein-coding genes,and 38.28%of the genome was predicted to be repetitive.We found 981 contracted gene families,1324 expanded gene families and 2300 apricot-specific genes.The differentially expressed gene(DEG)analysis indicated that a change in the expression of the 9-cis-epoxycarotenoid dioxygenase(NCED)gene but not lycopene beta-cyclase(LcyB)gene results in a lowβ-carotenoid content in the white cultivar“Dabaixing”.This complete and highly contiguous P.armeniaca reference genome will be of help for future studies of resistance to plum pox virus(PPV)and the identification and characterization of important agronomic genes and breeding strategies in apricot.Fengchao Jiang Junhuan Zhang Sen Wang Li Yang Yingfeng Luo Shenghan Gao Meiling Zhang Shuangyang Wu Songnian Hu Haoyuan Sun Yuzhu Wang 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:9
9Effects of temperature and organic and inorganic nutrients on the growth of Chattonella marina (Raphidophyceae)from the Daya Bay,South China Sea显示文摘The effects of temperature and different forms of nutrients on Chattonella marina growth have been investigated in strains isolated from the Daya Bay,the South China Sea.The strain of C.marina preferred high temperatures, with an optimal temperature of 25°C,and 18 °C was the minimum for its survival.Higher cell number and growth rate were obtained in high nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations (500 μ g/L, 74 μ g/L) than under nutrient limitation.Nitrogen influenced the growth most, as the specific growth rate and maximum cell density were lower in nitrogen-limited cultures than noted under phosphorus limitation or under limitation from both.C.marina was capable of using many kinds of organic nitrogen sources including L-serine (L-Ser),glycine (Gly),alanine (Ala),L-threonine (L-Thr), glutamic acid (Glu) and urea, but could not utilize uric acid.Various forms of organic phosphorus compound such as glucose-6-phosphate (G6P),sodium glycerophosphate (GYP),adenosine triphosphate (ATP),adenosine monophosphate (AMP),cytidine monophosphate (CMP),guanosine monophosphate (GMP),uridine monophosphate (UMP),4-nitrophenylphosphate (NPP) and triethyl phosphate (TEP) supported the growth as well. 12Akt Inhibitor Perifosine Prevents Epileptogenesis in a Rat Model of Temporal Lobe Epilepsy显示文摘Accumulating data have revealed that abnormal activity of the mTOR(mammalian target of rapamycin)pathway plays an important role in epileptogenesis triggered by various factors. We previously reported that pretreatment with perifosine, an inhibitor of Akt(also called protein kinase B), abolishes the rapamycin-induced paradoxical increase of S6 phosphorylation in a rat model induced by kainic acid(KA). Since Akt is an upstream target in the mTOR signaling pathway, we set out to determine whether perifosine has a preventive effect on epileptogenesis. Here, we explored the effect of perifosine on the model of temporal epilepsy induced by KA in rats and found that pretreatment with perifosine had no effect on the severity or duration of the KA-induced status epilepticus. However, perifosine almost completely inhibited the activation of p-Akt and p-S6 both acutely and chronically following the KA-induced status epilepticus.Perifosine pretreatment suppressed the KA-induced neuronal death and mossy fiber sprouting. The frequency of spontaneous seizures was markedly decreased in rats pretreated with perifosine. Accordingly, rats pretreated with perifosine showed mild impairment in cognitive functions. 15Endogenous level of TIGAR in brain is associated with vulnerability of neurons to ischemic injury显示文摘In previous studies,we showed that TP53-induced glycolysis and apoptosis regulator(TIGAR) protects neurons against ischemic brain injury.In the present study,we investigated the developmental changes of TIGAR level in mouse brain and the correlation of TIGAR expression with the vulnerability of neurons to ischemic injury.We found that the TIGAR level was high in the embryonic stage,dropped at birth,partially recovered in the early postnatal period,and then continued to decline to a lower level in early adult and aged mice.The TIGAR expression was higher after ischemia/reperfusion in mouse brain 8and 12 weeks after birth.Four-week-old mice had smaller infarct volumes,lower neurological scores,and lower mortality rates after ischemia than 8- and12-week-old mice.TIGAR expression also increased in response to oxygen glucose deprivation(OGD)/reoxygenation insult or H_2O_2 treatment in cultured primary neurons from different embryonic stages(E16 and E20).The neurons cultured from the early embryonic period had a greater resistance to OGD and oxidative insult.Higher TIGAR levels correlated with higher pentose phosphate pathway activity and less oxidative stress.Older mice and more mature neurons had more severe DNA and mitochondrial damage than younger mice and less mature neurons in response to ischemia/reperfusion or OGD/reoxygenation insult.Supplementation of cultured neurons with nicotinamide adenine dinuclectide phosphate(NADPH) significantly reduced ischemic injury.These results suggest that TIGAR expression changes during development and its expression level may be correlated with the vulnerability of neurons to ischemic injury.Lijuan Cao Jieyu Chen Mei Li Yuan-Yuan Qin Meiling Sun Rui Sheng Feng Han Guanghui Wang Zheng-Hong Qin 2015Neuroscience Bulletin2015,31,5:6
16Effects of grain boundary ternary alloy doping on corrosion resistance of(Ce,Pr,Nd)-Fe-B permanent magnets显示文摘To satisfy the application of different environments,grain boundary doping is commonly used in the preparation of sintered magnets to improve the coercivity and the corrosion resistance.In this paper,the alloys were prepared by mixing different ratios of the master alloy(Ce,Pr,Nd)-Fe-B and the sintering aid(Pr,Nd)-Al.The coercivity of sintered(Ce,Pr,Nd)-Fe-B magnet is substantially enhanced by doping 2 wt%of(Pr,Nd)-Al,while the maximum energy product decreases slightly.We systematically investigated the corrosion behavior and micro structure of the sintered magnets in order to determine the mechanism of the degradation.The sintered(Ce,Pr,Nd)-Fe-B magnets with 2 wt% of(Pr,Nd)-Al addition exhibit the decreasing corrosion rate compared with others,due to the distribution of intergranular phases.The electrode potential difference between the main phase and the RE-rich phase is reduced by the addition of Al,improving the potential and stability of RE-rich phase due to the higher electrode potential of Al than that of Nd,Pr or Ce.In addition,the element distribution of the magnets doped by(Pr,Nd)-Al indicates that the Al-rich shell formed at the marginal area of the Ce-rich phase improves its stability.Therefo re,intergranular adding te rnary(Pr,Nd)-Al alloy powders results in both high coe rcivity and good corrosion resistance synchronously.Xin Wang Minggang Zhu Feng Xi Meiling Zhang Fei Liu Yingjian Guo Lele Zhang Guangrui Zhang Wei Li 2021Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,8:6
17Optimization of microstructures and magnetic properties of Sm(Co_(bal)Fe_(0.227)Cu_(0.07)Zr_(0.023))_(7.6) magnets by sintering treatment显示文摘Magnetic properties and microstructures of Sm(Co_(bal)Fe_(0.227)Cu_(0.07)Zr_(0.023_)_(7.6) sintered magnets were optimized by sintering treatment. Results show that the knee-point magnetic field, Hknee, is twofold up and the intrinsic coercivity Hcjincreases by 40%, ranging from 21.64 to 30.39 kOe at the cost of a little decrease of Brfrom 10.84 to 10.31 kGs with sintering temperature decreasing from 1488 to 1473 K. And the average domain width is narrower and more uniform for the specimen sintered at 1473 K than that of the specimen sintered at 1488 K. It is impressive that the density of lamellar phase increases from ~0.050 to ~0.058 nm^(-1) with the sintering temperature decreasing from 1488 to 1473 K. Moreover, the average cellular size is about ~84 nm for the magnets sintered at 1473 K, which is 80% of that of the magnets sintered at 1488 K(~97 nm). And the cell boundary width of the magnets sintered at 1473 K(~7 nm) is only half average width of the magnets sintered at 1488 K(~14 nm). It is found that the Cu content in the cell boundaries is much higher(~17 at%) in the magnets sintered at 1473 K compared to that of the magnets sintered at 1488 K(~10 at%). 18Vehicle Motion Prediction at Intersections Based on the Turning Intention and Prior Trajectories Model显示文摘Intersections are quite important and complex traffic scenarios,where the future motion of surrounding vehicles is an indispensable reference factor for the decision-making or path planning of autonomous vehicles.Considering that the motion trajectory of a vehicle at an intersection partly obeys the statistical law of historical data once its driving intention is determined,this paper proposes a long short-term memory based(LSTM-based)framework that combines intention prediction and trajectory prediction together.First,we build an intersection prior trajectories model(IPTM)by clustering and statistically analyzing a large number of prior traffic flow trajectories.The prior trajectories model with fitted probabilistic density is used to approximate the distribution of the predicted trajectory,and also serves as a reference for credibility evaluation.Second,we conduct the intention prediction through another LSTM model and regard it as a crucial cue for a trajectory forecast at the early stage.Furthermore,the predicted intention is also a key that is associated with the prior trajectories model.The proposed framework is validated on two publically released datasets,next generation simulation(NGSIM)and INTERACTION.Compared with other prediction methods,our framework is able to sample a trajectory from the estimated distribution,with its accuracy improved by about 20%.Finally,the credibility evaluation,which is based on the prior trajectories model,makes the framework more practical in the real-world applications.Ting Zhang Wenjie Song Mengyin Fu Yi Yang Meiling Wang 2021IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2021,8,10:6

20Latent fingerprint enhancement on conductive substrates using electrodeposition of copper显示文摘We presented a novel method for the development of a latent fingerprint by selective electrodeposition of a copper thin film from sulfate solution onto the conductive substrate between fingerprint ridges to generate a negative image of the fingerprint deposit. After optimizing the parameters(deposition time, deposition potential, and copper concentration), the preferential electrodeposition of copper films allowed latent fingerprints on six kinds of conductive surfaces(indium/tin oxide-coated glass, silver sheet, platinum sheet, gold sheet, copper sheet, and a stainless steel coin) to be successfully developed with high resolution. In addition, this technique could also be exploited to visualize latent fingerprints on rough and dirty surfaces.
