1Root and shoot traits responses to phosphorus deficiency and QTL analysis at seedling stage using introgression lines of rice显示文摘Phosphorous(P) deficiency is a major restraint factor for crop production and plants have developed several mechanisms to adapt to low P stress.In this study,a set of 271 introgression lines(ILs) were used to characterize the responses of seedlings to low P availability and to identify QTLs for root traits,biomass,and plant height under P-deficiency and P-sufficiency conditions.Plant height,total dry weight,shoot dry weight,and root number were inhibited under P-deficiency,whereas maximum root length(MRL) and root-shoot ratio(RS) were induced by P-deficiency stress.Relative MRL(RMRL,the ratio of MRL under P-deficiency to MRL under P-sufficiency con-dition) and relative RS(RRS) were used to evaluate P-deficiency tolerance at the seedling stage.A total of 24 additive QTLs and 29 pairs of epistatic QTLs were detected,but only qRN4 was detected in both conditions.This suggested that different mechanisms may exist in both P supply levels.QTLs for adaptive traits(RMRL,RRS,RRV,and RRDW) and qRN4 consistently expressed to increase trait stabil-ity may contribute to P-deficiency tolerance.Twelve intervals were cluster regions of QTLs for P-deficiency tolerance,and one QTL(qRRS8) showed pleiotropic effects on P-deficiency tolerance and drought tolerance.These interesting QTLs can be used in marker-assisted breeding through the target ILs.Junzhou Li Yan Xie Anyong Dai Lifeng Liu Zichao Li 2009Journal of Genetics and Genomics2009,36,3:12
2Diagnostic and surgical therapeutic features of extrahepatic bile duct carcinoma without jaundice显示文摘AIM: To analyze the diagnostic and therapeutic features of extrahepatic bile duct carcinoma (EBDC) without jaundice. METHODS: Between 1985 and 1999, 101 patients underwent surgery for EBDC in Xiangya Hospital. These patients were divided into two groups: 84 jaundiced patients and 17 nonjaundiced patients according to preoperative serum total bilirubin levels. The dinical manifestations, laboratory findings, location, pathology and surgical resectability of the tumors were compared between the two groups. RESULTS: The laboratory parameters such as hemoglobin,serum albumin ALB, AKP, γ-GT, and sonography appearancewere similar between the two groups, and there was no significant difference in tumor location, pathological type and resectability. However, the number of non-jaundiced patients associated with chololithiasis was significantly greater than that of jaundiced patients (P=0.008). CONCLUSION: The presence of jaundice is not a reliable criterion for the prediction of the resectability and the extent of tumor progression in extrahepatic bile duct carcinoma. Decreased levels of blood hemoglobin and serum albumin, elevated levels of AKP and γ-GT, and/or abnormal sonography may be suggestive. 4Large aperture N31 neodymium phosphate laser glass for use in a high power laser facility显示文摘Large aperture Nd:phosphate laser glass is a key optical element for an inertial confinement fusion(ICF) facility. N31,one type of neodymium doped phosphate glasses, was developed for high peak power laser facility applications in China. The composition and main properties of N31 glass are given, together with those of LHG-8, LG-770, and KGSS-0180 Nd:phosphate laser glasses, from Hoya and Schott, and from Russia. The technologies of pot melting, continuous melting, and edge cladding of large size N31 phosphate laser glass are briefly described. The small signal gain profiles of N31 glass slabs from both pot melting and continuous melting at various values of the pumping energy of the xenon lamp are presented. 5A Genome Sequence of Novel SARS-CoV Isolates: the Genotype, GD-Ins29, Leads to a Hypothesis of Viral Transmission in South China显示文摘We report a complete genomic sequence of rare isolates (minor genotype) of theSARS-CoV from SARS patients in Guangdong, China, where the first few casesemerged. The most striking discovery from the isolate is an extra 29-nucleotidesequence located at the nucleotide positions between 27,863 and 27,864 (referredto the complete sequence of B J01) within an overlapped region composed of BGI-PUP5 (BGI-postulated uncharacterized protein 5) and BGI-PUP6 upstream ofthe N (nucleocapsid) protein. The discovery of this minor genotype, GD-Ins29,suggests a significant genetic event and differentiates it from the previously re-ported genotype, the dominant form among all sequenced SARS-CoV isolates. A17-nt segment of this extra sequence is identical to a segment of the same size intwo human mRNA sequences that may interfere with viral genome replication andtranscription in the cytosol of the infected cells. 6Effect of Short-term Forest Bathing in Urban Parks on Perceived Anxiety of Young-adults: A Pilot Study in Guiyang, Southwest China显示文摘Forest can be taken as a natural therapy to alleviate perceived anxiety of visitors. Given the geographical difference between urban and rural forest environments, little is known about the urban forest therapy effect of anxiety alleviation with reference to the rural forest. In this study, forty-three university students(aged from 19 to 23) were recruited as participants to visit the forest parks at urban and rural areas of Guiyang City on 21 and 23 December 2016. The forest experience was separated by four sceneries. Participants were asked to complete questionnaires by self-evaluating specific anxiety change from 12 questions with scores from 1 to 10 at both entrance and exit of the parks. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test and paired t-test were used to compare the change of anti-anxiety scores during forest bathing and between urban and rural forests, respectively. Results revealed that forest bathing in the urban park can alleviate the anxiety from financial state(P = 0.0028), exam-pass pressure(P = 0.0040) and love-affair relationship(P = 0.0286). Although rural forest bathing can also alleviate the anxiety from financial state(P = 0.0222), meanwhile, it maintained the anxiety about campus life(P < 0.0001). Forest tree richness tended to be higher in the rural forest park than in the urban one, which in contrast decreased the anxiety alleviation from inter-communication in the rural forest park(P = 0.0487). Principle component analysis indicated that participants tended to perceive more decline of anxiety from social contact in the urban forest. In conclusion, university students were recommended to pay a short visit to the urban forest with partners if they felt anxious about personal affairs and felt necessary to talk with others. 7Components of Stem Barks of Winchia calophylla A. DC. and Their Bronchodilator Activities显示文摘The Dai medicinal plant Winchia calophylla A. DC. (Apocynaceae) has efficacy as an anticough and anti-asthmatic medication. In order to investigate its relative bioactive components, we studied the chemical constituents of this plant. Using repeated column chromatography, 28 compounds, including loganin, six phenolic compounds, 17 indole alkaloids, three pyridine alkaloids, and a quinoline alkaloid,were isolated from the stem barks of W. calophylla. 9Fine mapping of the awn gene on chromosome 4 in rice by association and linkage analyses显示文摘Awnness is a key trait in rice domestication, yet no studies have been conducted on fine mapping or association mapping of the rice awn gene. In this study, we investigated the awnness and genotype of a core collection of 303 cultivated rice varieties and a BC5F2 segregating population of 200 individuals. Combining association and linkage analyses, we mapped the awnness related genes to chromosome 4. Primary association analysis using 24 SSR markers revealed five loci significantly associated with awnness on chromosome 4. The associated markers cover previously identified regions. Fine association mapping was conducted using another 29 markers within a 4-Mb region, covering the associated marker in34, which is close to the awn gene Awn4.1. Seven associated markers were revealed, distributed over an 870-kb region. Combining the fine association mapping and linkage analysis of awnness in the 200 BC5F2 segregating population, we finally identified a 330-kb region as the candidate region for Awn4.1. 11Distribution Features of the Nanhua-Sinian Rifts and their Significance to Hydrocarbon Accumulation in the Tarim Basin显示文摘On the basis of reprocessing 34 new two-dimensional spliced long sections(20,191 km) in the Tarim Basin, the deep structure features of the Tarim Basin were analyzed through interpreting 30,451 km of two-dimensional seismic data and compiling basic maps. Seismic interpretation and geological analysis conclude that the Nanhua-Sinian strata are a set of rift-depression depositional systems according to their tectonic and depositional features. The rift valley formed in the Nanhua Period, and the transformation became weaker during the late Sinian Period, which eventually turned into depression. From bottom to top, the deposited strata include mafic igneous, tillite, mudstone, and dolomite. Three major depocenters developed inside this basin during the rift stage and are distributed in the eastern Tarim Basin, the Awati area, and the southwestern Tarim Basin. Among them, the rift in the eastern Tarim Basin strikes in the near east-west direction on the plane and coincides with the aeromagnetic anomaly belt. This represents a strong magnetic zone formed by upwelling basic volcanic rock along high, steep normal faults of the Nanhua Period. Controlled by the tectonic background, two types of sedimentary systems were developed in the rift stage and depression stage, showing two types of sequence features in the Sinian depositional stage. The Nanhua System appears as a wedge-shaped formation, with its bottom in unconformable contact with the base. The rifting event has a strong influence on the current tectonic units in the Tarim Basin, and affects the distribution of source rock in the Yuertus Formation and reservoir beds in the Xiaoerbulake Formation in Lower Cambrian, as well as the gypseous cap rock in Middle Cambrian. The distribution features of the rifts have important and realistic significance for determining the direction of oil and gas exploration in the deep strata of the Tarim Basin. 12Efficient Location-Aware Data Placement for Data-Intensive Applications in Geo-distributed Scientific Data Centers显示文摘Recent developments in cloud computing and big data have spurred the emergence of data-intensive applications for which massive scientific datasets are stored in globally distributed scientific data centers that have a high frequency of data access by scientists worldwide. Multiple associated data items distributed in different scientific data centers may be requested for one data processing task, and data placement decisions must respect the storage capacity limits of the scientific data centers. Therefore, the optimization of data access cost in the placement of data items in globally distributed scientific data centers has become an increasingly important goal.Existing data placement approaches for geo-distributed data items are insufficient because they either cannot cope with the cost incurred by the associated data access, or they overlook storage capacity limitations, which are a very practical constraint of scientific data centers. In this paper, inspired by applications in the field of high energy physics, we propose an integer-programming-based data placement model that addresses the above challenges as a Non-deterministic Polynomial-time(NP)-hard problem. In addition we use a Lagrangian relaxation based heuristics algorithm to obtain ideal data placement solutions. 14Effect of strain on DRX of 7050 aluminum alloy during extrusion at high temperature显示文摘Extrusion experiments with different filling contents at the temperature of 440 ℃ were conducted for solution treated 7050 aluminum alloy.The microstructure of typical regions with different filler contents were described qualitatively and characterized quantitatively by electron backscattered diffraction technique(EBSD) and TEM.Fraction of deformed structure decrease continuously since ε=0.72.Second phase particles distribute dispersively and interact with dislocations when ε=0.66,which delays the occurrence of DRX.As the strain increases,particles dissolve into the matrix,and their number reduces rapidly.The influence of particles on dislocation accumulation is impaired,so dislocations accumulate on the subgrain boundaries continuously,and lead to the transformation of subgrain boundaries into high angle grain boundaries(HAGBs).The continuous dynamic recrystallization(CDRX) occurrs at the strain of 0.81~0.85.At ε=0.92,CDRX convert rapidly with the increase of HAGBs fraction.But the size of CDRX grains is deduced to be minimum 3.3 μm by theoretical analysis,and it is obtained from experimental result that the maximal size of CDRX is 5.3 μm.ZHU Danyang,ZHEN Liang,HU Wenhao,CHEN Junzhou,CUI Yuexian,and SHAO Wenzhu School of Materials Science and Engineering,Harbin Institute of Technology,Harbin 150001,China 2007Rare Metals2007,26,S1:3
15An Active De-anonymizing Attack Against Tor Web Traffic显示文摘Tor is pervasively used to conceal target websites that users are visiting. A de-anonymization technique against Tor, referred to as website fingerprinting attack, aims to infer the websites accessed by Tor clients by passively analyzing the patterns of encrypted traffic at the Tor client side. However, HTTP pipeline and Tor circuit multiplexing techniques can affect the accuracy of the attack by mixing the traffic that carries web objects in a single TCP connection. In this paper, we propose a novel active website fingerprinting attack by identifying and delaying the HTTP requests at the first hop Tor node. Then, we can separate the traffic that carries distinct web objects to derive a more distinguishable traffic pattern. To fulfill this goal, two algorithms based on statistical analysis and objective function optimization are proposed to construct a general packet delay scheme. We evaluate our active attack against Tor in empirical experiments and obtain the highest accuracy of 98.64%, compared with 85.95% of passive attack. We also perform experiments in the open-world scenario. 16Pathological matrix stiffness promotes cardiac fibroblast differentiation through the POU2F1 signaling pathway显示文摘Cardiac fibroblast(CF)differentiation into myofibroblasts is a crucial cause of cardiac fibrosis,which increases in the extracellular matrix(ECM)stiffness.The increased stiffness further promotes CF differentiation and fibrosis.However,the molecular mechanism is still unclear.We used bioinformatics analysis to find new candidates that regulate the genes involved in stiffnessinduced CF differentiation,and found that there were binding sites for the POU-domain transcription factor,POU2F1(also known as Oct-1),in the promoters of 50 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)in CFs on the stiffer substrate.Immunofluorescent staining and Western blotting revealed that pathological stiffness upregulated POU2F1 expression and increased CF differentiation on polyacrylamide hydrogel substrates and in mouse myocardial infarction tissue.A chromatin immunoprecipitation assay showed that POU2F1 bound to the promoters of fibrosis repressors IL1R2,CD69,and TGIF2.The expression of these fibrosis repressors was inhibited on pathological substrate stiffness.Knockdown of POU2F1 upregulated these repressors and attenuated CF differentiation on pathological substrate stiffness(35 kPa).Whereas,overexpression of POU2F1 downregulated these repressors and enhanced CF differentiation.In conclusion,pathological stiffness upregulates the transcription factor POU2F1 to promote CF differentiation by inhibiting fibrosis repressors.Our work elucidated the crosstalk between CF differentiation and the ECM and provided a potential target for cardiac fibrosis treatment.Mingzhe Li Jimin Wu Guomin Hu Yao Song Jing Shen Junzhou Xin Zijian Li Wei Liu Erdan Dong Ming Xu Youyi Zhang Han Xiao 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,2:3
17Spatial games and the maintenance of cooperation in an asymmetric Hawk-Dove game显示文摘Classical theories explaining the evolution of cooperation often rely on the assumption that the involved players are symmetrically interacted.However,in reality almost all well-documented cooperation systems show that cooperative players are in fact asymmetrically interacted and that this dynamic may greatly affect the cooperative behavior of the involved players.Here,we developed several models based on the most well known spatial game of the Hawk-Dove game,while also considering the effects of asymmetric interaction.Such asymmetric games possess four kinds of strategies:cooperation or defection of strong player and cooperation or defection of weak player.Computer simulations showed that the probability of defection of the strong player decreases with decreasing the benefit to cost ratio,and that all kinds of strategy will be substituted by cooperation on behalf of the strong player if the benefit to cost ratio is sufficiently small.Moreover,weak players find it difficult to survive and the surviving weak players are mostly defectors,similar to the Boxed Pigs game.Interestingly,the patterns of kinds of strategies are chaotic or oscillate in some conditions with the related factors.HE JunZhou ZHAO Yue CAI HengJin WANG RuiWu 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,17:2
18Autocrine expression of hepatocyte growth factor and its cytoprotective effect on hepatocyte poisoning显示文摘AIM: To construct pEGFP-hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) expression vector, the to detect its expression in transfected human hepatocytes, and to investigate the influence of autocrine HGF expression on the proliferative potential and cytoprotective effects in human hepatocytes.METHODS: Human HGF cDNA was ligated to the pEGFP vector. Recombinant plasmid was transfected into human hepatocyte line QZG with liposome. Expression of HGF protein was observed by fluorescence microscopy and immunohistochemistry. Hepatic cells were collected 24, 48, and 72 h after transfection to detect the number of [^3H]-TdR uptake in DNA. DNA synthesis was observed by using PCNA stain immunohistochemistry.Acute liver cell damage was induced by carbon tetrachloride. Cytoprotective effect was observed by examining the survival rate of hepatocytes and leakage of intracellular alanine transaminase (ALT) and potassium ions.RESULTS: HGF identification of pEGFP-HGF by enzyme digestion showed that HGF fragment was cloned into BamH I and SalI sites of pEGFP-N3. Expression of GFP in transfected hepatocytes was observed with fluorescence microscopy. The [^3H]-TdR uptake became 7 times as many as in thecontrol group 96 h after transfection. After HGF transfection, the survival rate of hepatocytes poisoned by CCI4 significantly increased (83% vs 61%, P<0.05), and the leakage of intracellular alanine transaminase and potassium ions decreased (586 nkat/L vs 1089 nkat/L, P<0.01; and 5.59 mmol/L vs 6.02 mmol/L, P<0.01 respectively). 19MOLECULAR ENGINEERING STUDIES ON NONTHROMBOGENIC BIOMATERIALS——A NOVEL CLASS OF NONTHROMBOGENIC BIOMATERIALS WITH ZWITTERIONIC STRUCTURE OF CARBOXYBETAINES显示文摘N,N-dimethyl-N-methacryloyloxyethyl-N-carboxyethyl ammonium (DMMCA) was graft-copolymerized onto the surface of segmented poly(ether urethane) (SPEU) and PE film. The carboxybetaine structure on SPEU and PE film surfaces was confirmed by ATR-FTIR, XPS and water contact angle measurements. Through the experiments with platelet adhesion and protein adhesion assay in vitro, the two materials studied, including poly-DMMCA gel, all show excellent nonthrombogenicity. 20Pressureless crystallization of glass toward scintillating composite with high crystallinity for radiation detection显示文摘The construction of scintillating ceramics is of great technological importance for various fundamental applications, including medical diagnostic, security inspection, resource exploration and particle physics. The chief challenge is the facile and scalable synthesis of scintillating ceramics with the desirable combination of pore-free, reliable mechanical properties and excellent scintillating performance. Here we present a pressureless glass crystallization strategy for the construction of scintillating composite with high crystallinity. The fabricated scintillating composites are featured by small optical turbidity, excellent mechanical properties, and efficient scintillating luminescence with the scintillating light yield of 15,000 pH/MeV and about 2.46 times higher than that of the commercial BGO single crystal. Moreover, the scintillating composite derived radiation detector device is successfully elaborated. The practical application for monitoring gamma ray is demonstrated and the precision of the device is less than that of the tolerable deviation of 30%.
