1Atypical features and treatment choices in bipolar disorders:a result of the National Bipolar Mania Pathway Survey in China显示文摘In this study,we examined the point prevalence rate of atypical features in bipolar disorder,and estimated the potential impact of these features on treatment practices in China. Using the atypical features criteria of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association(DSM-IV),we documented the atypical symptoms in 3 906 consecutive participants with bipolar disorder enrolled at 26 psychiatric services across China. We further assessed the association between atypical features and the treatment approaches,including the prescription of antidepressants. The overall point prevalence rate of atypical features was 9.1% among patients with various bipolar disorder subtypes. When the definition was broadened to include atypical features B,the overall rate increased to 11.8%. Interestingly,among patients with the mixed state and remission subtypes,there was a significant difference in the rates of antidepressant medication usage between patients who met and those who did not meet the criteria for atypical features B. These fi ndings indicate a trend of using antidepressants for these two types of patients with atypical features. Further,for both mixed state and remission patients,treatment approaches were related to atypicalfeatures B. 2Revisiting mesoscale eddy genesis mechanism of nonlinear advection in a marginal ice zone显示文摘A three-dimensional(3-D) ocean model is coupled with a two-dimensional(2-D) sea ice model, to revisit a nonlinear advection mechanism, one of the most important mesoscale eddy genesis mechanisms in the marginal ice zone. Two-dimensional ocean model simulations suggest nonlinear advection mechanism is more important when the water gets shallower. Instead of considering the ocean as barotropic fluid in the 2-D ocean model, the 3-D ocean model allows the sea ice to affect the current directly in the surface layer via ocean-ice interaction. It is found that both mesoscale eddy and sea surface elevation are sensitive to changes in a water depth in the 3-D simulations. The vertical profile of a current velocity in 3-D experiments suggests that when the water depth gets shallower, the current move faster in each layer, which makes the sea surface elevation be nearly inverse proportional to the water depth with the same wind forcing during the same time. It is also found that because of the vertical motion, the magnitude of variations in the sea surface elevation in the 3-D simulations is very small,being only 1% of the change in the 2-D simulations. 4In situ construction of ligand nano-network to integrin αvβ3 for angiogenesis inhibition显示文摘Angiogenesis occurs during the process of tumor growth,invasion and metastasis,and is essential for the survival of solid tumors.As an integrin significantly ove rexpressed in human tumor vascular endothelial cells,αvβ3 is a suitable targeting site for anti-angiogenesis of tumor.We designed and prepared a selfassembling peptide(SAP)with the ability to targeting αvβ3 and self-assembly.SAP formed nanoparticles in solution and transformed into nanofibrous network once specifically binding to integrin αvβ3 on the surface of human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs).The SAP network stably anchored on HUVECs over 24h,which consequently resulted in high-efficient inhibition of vascularization.In vitro anti-angiogenesis experiment displayed that the inhibition rate of tube-formation reached 94.9%.In vivo anti-angiogenesis array based on chick chorioallantoic membrane(CAM)model exhibited that the SAP had an inhibition rate up to 63.1%.These results indicated the outstanding anti-angiogenic ability of SAP,potentially for tumor therapy.Ziming Chen Kuo Zhang Jiaqi Fan Yu Fan Chao Yang Wen Tian Yuan Li Wenliang Li Jingping Zhang Hao Wang Lei Wang 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,12:2

7Effects of the PARP inhibitor Niraparib on the radiosensitivity of human lung and cervical cancer cells显示文摘ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of Niraparib,a clinically approved PARP inhibitor on the radiosensitivity of human lung and cervical cancer cells,and preliminarily explore the underlying mechanism.MethodsThe human lung cancer cell line A549 and human cervical cancer cell line Siha were both treated with Niraparib for 1h,or X-ray irradiation with 4y,or Niraparib for 1h combined with X-ray irradiation with 4Gy.The effect was examined via measurements of cell proliferation by the cell counting kit-8 assay,and cell viability was detected by clone formation assays.Cell apoptosis and cell cycle distribution were investigated by flow cytometry.ResultsIn human lung and cervical cancer cell lines,Niraparib combined with radiation therapy significantly inhibited cell proliferation.The proportion of apoptotic cells in cell lines treated with Niraparib plus radiation(the combination group)was significantly higher compared with control,radiation,and Niraparib groups(P<0.05).Additionally,the proportion of A549 cells in the G_(2)/M phase was significantly increased in the combination group compared with the radiation group(P<0.05).ConclusionPARP inhibitor Niraparib increases the radiosensitivity of tumorcells,promotes their apoptosis,and induces cell cycle redistribution.The possible mechanism is associated with the inhibition of radiation-induced DNA damage repair.Yue Feng Shiyi Pi Yuwei Li Yu Zhang Hongwei Zeng Xiangyu E Yang Zhang Jingping Yu 2023Radiation Medicine and Protection2023,4,2:1

9Anaerobic digestion of sludge by different pretreatments:Changes of amino acids and microbial community显示文摘Many studies have investigated the effects of different pretreatments on the performance of anaerobic digestion of sludge.However,the detailed changes of dissolved organic nitrogen,particularly the release behavior of proteins and the byproducts of protein hydrolysis-amino acids,are rarely known during anaerobic digestion of sludge by different pretreatments.Here we quantified the changes of three types of proteins and 17 types of amino acids in sludge samples solubilized by ultrasonic,thermal,and acid/alkaline pretreatments and their transformation during anaerobic digestion of sludge.Tryptophan protein,aromatic protein I,aromatic protein II,and cysteine were identified as the key dissolved organic nitrogen responsible for methane production during anaerobic digestion of sludge,regardless of the different pretreatment methods.Different from the depletion of other amino acids,cysteine was resistant to degradation after an incubation period of 30 days in all sludge samples.Meanwhile,the“cysteine and methionine metabolism(K00270)”was absent in all sludge samples by identifying 6755 Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes assignments of genes hits.Cysteine contributed to the generation of methane and the degradation of acetic,propionic,and n-butyric acids through decreasing oxidation-reduction potential and enhancing biomass activity.This study provided an alternative strategy to enhance anaerobic digestion of sludge through in situ production of cysteine.Keke Xiao Zecong Yu Kangyue Pei Mei Sun Yuwei Zhu Sha Liang Huijie Hou Bingchuan Liu Jingping Hu Jiakuan Yang 2022Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2022,16,2:1
10Quality Assessment of Frozen Solenocera crassicornis Treated with Sodium Metabisulphite by Soaking or Spraying显示文摘The present work was carried out to evaluate the safety of shrimp(Solenocera crassicornis)treated with different concentrations of sodium metabisulfite(SMB)by soaking or spraying during frozen storage.Shrimps soaked in higher concentrations of SMB showed higher sensory scores,lower total color differences,and better anti-melanosis effects than shrimps in the control and other treatment groups throughout frozen storage(−18℃).Lower total volatile basic nitrogen and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances and higher salt soluble protein contents were detected in shrimp soaked with high doses of SMB compared with other samples.In addition,lower counts of total aerobic plates and psychrotrophic bacteria were observed in shrimp treated by soaking with higher doses of SMB than those in control shrimp and shrimp treated with other methods during frozen storage(−18℃).However,the SO2 content of 5%SMB-soaked samples exceeded the maximum allowable limit of 100mgkg−1.Overall,the use of 1.5%SMB soaking to treat shrimp results in good antioxidant and antimicrobial effects and,thus,may be suggested to preserve S.crassicornis under frozen conditions.The results of this study present important guidance on the use of SMB to maintain the quality of marine-trawling shrimp from manufacturing to consumption.ZHU Jingping CHEN Yu JIN Lei ZHU Junxiang 2020Journal of Ocean University of China2020,19,1:1
11Evaluation of Clinical Efficacy of Combined Use of Acupuncture and Medicine in Treating Sleep Disorder in Patients with Anxiety Disorder显示文摘[Objectives]To evaluate the clinical efficacy of combined acupuncture and medicine in the treatment of sleep disorders in patients with anxiety disorders.[Methods]A total of 300 anxiety patients with sleep disorders were randomly selected and divided into a research group and a control group,with 150 cases in each group.The control group was administered with western medicine,and the research group was treated with acupuncture and medicine to compare their clinical treatment effects.[Results]The total effective rate of treatment in the research group was significantly higher than that in the control group;after treatment,both the PSQI and SAS scores of the two groups were significantly reduced,and the reduction degree of the research group was higher than that of the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).[Conclusions]Combined use of acupuncture and medicine to treat sleep disorders in patients with anxiety disorders has better curative effect and fewer adverse reactions,so it has high clinical application value.Xiangpu LIU Jingping MU Xinhua YU Shun ZENG Nannan LIU Xiaohu ZHU 2021Medicinal Plant2021,12,3:1

13Comparison of different valent iron on anaerobic sludge digestion:Focusing on oxidation reduction potential,dissolved organic nitrogen and microbial community显示文摘This study compared effects of three different valent iron(Fe^(0),Fe(II)and Fe(III))on enhanced anaerobic sludge digestion,focusing on the changes of oxidation reduction potential(ORP),dissolved organic nitrogen(DON),and microbial community.Under the same iron dose in range of 0−160 mg/L after an incubation period of 30 days(d),the maximum methane production rate of sludge samples dosed with respective Fe^(0),Fe(II)and Fe(III)at the same concentration showed indiscernible differences at each iron dose,regardless of the different iron valence.Moreover,their behavior in changes of ORP,DON and microbial community was different:(1)the addition of Fe^(0) made the ORP of sludge more negative,and the addition of Fe(II)and Fe(III)made the ORP of sludge less negative.However,whether being more or less negative,the changes of ORP may show unobservable effects on methane yield when it ranged from−278.71 to−379.80 mV;(2)the degradation of dissolved organic nitrogen,particularly proteins,was less efficient in sludge samples dosed with Fe^(0) compared with those dosed with Fe(II)and Fe(III)after an incubation period of 30 d.At the same dose of 160 mg/L iron,more cysteine was noted in sludge samples dosed with Fe(II)(30.74 mg/L)and Fe(III)(27.92 mg/L)compared with that dosed with Fe^(0)(21.75 mg/L);(3)Fe^(0) particularly promoted the enrichment of Geobacter,and it was 6 times higher than those in sludge samples dosed with Fe(II)and Fe(III)at the same dose of 160 mg/L iron.Zecong Yu Keke Xiao Yuwei Zhu Mei Sun Sha Liang Jingping Hu Huijie Hou Bingchuan Liu Jiakuan Yang 2022Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2022,16,6:0

15Hope and Academic Procrastination in Adolescents: A Moderated Mediation Model显示文摘Academic procrastination among adolescents is an increasingly prominent problem. It is important to look forinfluences behind academic procrastination in the adolescent population. The present study aimed to revealthe explanatory mechanisms underlying the association between hope and academic procrastination behaviorsamong Chinese adolescents by testing the mediating role of attentional control and the moderating role of traitmindfulness. Participants in the current study were 1156 Chinese adolescents who completed self-report questionnaireson hope, attentional control, academic procrastination, and trait mindfulness. The results indicatedthat adolescent hope was negatively related to academic procrastination and that attentional control partiallymediated this association. In addition, trait mindfulness moderated the direct association between hope and academicprocrastination in the mediated model. 16A potential threat from biodegradable microplastics: mechanism of cadmium adsorption and desorption in the simulated gastrointestinal environment显示文摘It has been demonstrated that microplastics (MPs) can accumulate heavy metals from the environment and transfer them into organisms via the food chain. However, adsorption and desorption capacities for biodegradable MPs relative to those for conventional MPs remain poorly understood. In this study, cadmium (Cd(II)) adsorption and desorption characteristics of polylactic acid (PLA), a typical biodegradable MP, were investigated. Two conventional MPs, i.e., polypropylene (PP) and polyamide (PA) were used for comparison. The maximum Cd(II) adsorption capacities of the MPs studied in the adsorption experiments decreased in the order PA (0.96 ± 0.07 mg/g) > PLA (0.64 ± 0.04 mg/g) > PP (0.22 ± 0.03 mg/g). The Pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Freundlich isothermal model described the Cd(II) adsorption behaviors of PLA MPs well. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and two-dimensional Fourier transform infrared correlation spectroscopy analysis indicated that oxygen functional groups were the major and preferential binding sites of PLA MPs, which contributed to their high Cd(II) adsorption capacities. Simulated gastric and intestinal fluids both significantly enhanced the desorption capacities of the examined MPs. Notably, degradation of the PLA MPs during in vitro human digestion made the Cd(II) on the PLA MPs more bioaccessible (19% in the gastric phase and 62% in the intestinal phase) than Cd(II) on the PP and PA MPs. 17Effect of Endostar combined with concurrent chemoradiotherapy in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer显示文摘ObjectiveTo explore the value of Endostar in the clinical application of locally advanced cervical cancer.MethodsA total of 107 patients with locally advanced cervical cancer who received concurrent chemoradiotherapy(CCRT)in the Department of Radiotherapy,the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University and Changzhou No.2 People's Hospital between January 2018 and December 2020 were enrolled in this retrospective study.There were 30 cases in the Endostar combined with CCRT(E-CCRT)group and 77 in the CCRT group.Propensity score matching(PSM)was used to reduce confounding factors.The short-term efficacy and long-term survival rate were compared between the E-CCRT group and the CCRT group.ResultsAfter matching,the objective response rates in the E-CCRT group and CCRT group were 86.7%and 63.3%,respectively,with statistically significant difference(χ^(2)=4.356,P=0.037).But there were no statistically significant differences in the disease control rates(96.7%vs.86.7%,χ^(2)=0.873,P=0.350),3-year overall survival(OS)rates(86.7%vs.83.3%,P=0.681),and 3-year disease-free survival(DFS)rates(both 76.7%and 76.7%,P=0.869).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups.ConclusionsE-CCRT can improve the response of locally advanced cervical cancer patients without increasing the occurrence of adverse reactions,and has the potential to become a new treatment regimen for cervical cancer.Hengzhao Zhuang Yang Jiao Xin Li Jingping Yu Juying Zhou Lili Wang 2023Radiation Medicine and Protection2023,4,2:0

20Expert consensus on difficulty assessment of endodontic therapy显示文摘Endodontic diseases are a kind of chronic infectious oral disease. Common endodontic treatment concepts are based on the removal of inflamed or necrotic pulp tissue and the replacement by gutta-percha. However, it is very essential for endodontic treatment to debride the root canal system and prevent the root canal system from bacterial reinfection after root canal therapy(RCT). Recent research, encompassing bacterial etiology and advanced imaging techniques, contributes to our understanding of the root canal system’s anatomy intricacies and the technique sensitivity of RCT. Success in RCT hinges on factors like patients, infection severity, root canal anatomy, and treatment techniques. Therefore, improving disease management is a key issue to combat endodontic diseases and cure periapical lesions. The clinical difficulty assessment system of RCT is established based on patient conditions, tooth conditions, root canal configuration, and root canal needing retreatment, and emphasizes pre-treatment risk assessment for optimal outcomes. The findings suggest that the presence of risk factors may correlate with the challenge of achieving the high standard required for RCT.
