| 1 | 血清乙型肝炎病毒DNA水平的生物学梯度与肝细胞肝癌的风险性相关显示文摘Context: Serum hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA level is a marker of viral replication and efficacy of antiviral treatment in individuals with chronic hepatitis B. Objective: To evaluate the relationship between serum HBV DNA level and risk of hepatocellular carcinoma. Design, Setting, and Participants: Prospective cohort study of 3653 participants (aged 30-65 years), who were seropositive for the hepatitis B surface antigen and seronegative for antibodies against the hepatitis C virus, recruited to a community-based cancer screening program in Taiwan between 1991 and 1992. Main Outcome Measure: Incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma during follow-up examination and by data linkage with the national cancer registry and the death certification systems. Results: There were 164 incident cases of hepatocellular carcinoma and 346 deaths during a mean follow-up of 11.4 years and 41 779 person-years of follow-up. The incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma increased with serum HBV DNA level at study entry in a dose-response relationship ranging from 108 per 100 000 person-years for an HBV DNA level of less than 300 copies/mL to 1152 per 100 000 person-years for an HBV DNA level of 1 million copies/mL or greater. The corresponding cumulative incidence rates of hepatocellular carcinoma were 1.3%and 14.9%, respectively. The biological gradient of hepatocellular carcinoma by serum HBV DNA levels remained significant (P< .001) after adjustment for sex, age, cigarette smoking, alcohol consumption, serostatus for the hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg), serum alanine aminotransferase level, and liver cirrhosis at study entry. The dose-response relationship was most prominent for participants who were seronegative for HBeAg with normal serum alanine aminotransferase levels and no liver cirrhosis at study entry. Participants with persistent elevation of serum HBV DNA level during follow-up had the highest hepatocellular carcinoma risk. Conclusion: Elevated serum HBV DNA level (>10 000 copies/mL) is a strong risk predictor of hepatocellular carcinoma independent of HBeAg, serum alanine aminotransferase level, and liver cirrhosis. | Chen C.-J. | 9 | Toxicity of substituted benzenes and algae (Scenedesmus obliquus) with solvation equation显示文摘Quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSARs) for the toxicity of substituted phenols, anilines and nitrobenzenes to algae (Scenedesmus obliquus) have been studied. Chemicals were divided into polar narcotics and electrophiles based on structure criteria according to the toxicity mechanisms of action. A good relationship between the toxicity and octanol/water partition coefficient (logP) was observed for the polar narcotic compounds. The results confirmed that hydrophobicity is the determining physicochemical parameter in modelling narcotics. However, no statistically significant mono-parametric QSAR models could be made from descriptors calculated in this study for all the compounds. In order to investigate the mechanisms of toxic action and develop QSAR models for all compounds, Abraham solvation descriptors were calculated from the program of Pharma-Algorithms. Stepwise regression produced a three-parameter QSAR model (polarizability/dipolarity, hydrogen-bond basicity and molecular volume) with a good statistical fit for all the compounds studied, which had square of the correlation coefficient R2=0.83. We have also developed an interpretable QSAR model by using parameter of logP, which represents the bio-uptake process, and polarizability/dipolarity (S), which represents the interaction of chemicals with the acceptor micromolecules (target receptor) at the active site. The new structure is composed of three components: lubricant, artificial joint and artificial joint capsule. The lubricant sealed in the capsule can not only reduce the wear of the arti- ficial joint but also prevents the wear particles leaking into the body. So unexpected reactions between the wear particles and body can be avoided completely. A three-dimensional (3-D) finite element analysis (FEA) model was created for a bionic knee joint with capsule. The stresses and their distribution in the artificial capsule were simulated with different thickness, loadings, and flexion angles. The results show that the maximum stress occurs in the area between the artificial joint and the capsule. | 15 | Exohiss wave enhancement following substorm electron injection in the dayside magnetosphere显示文摘Exohiss is a low-frequency structureless whistler-mode emission potentially contributing to the precipitation loss of radiation belt electrons outside the plasmasphere. Exohiss is usually considered the plasmaspheric hiss leaked out of the dayside plasmapause.However, the evolution of exohiss after the leakage has not been fully understood. Here we report the prompt enhancements of exohiss waves following substorm injections observed by Van Allen Probes. Within several minutes, the energetic electron fluxes around 100 keV were enhanced by up to 5 times, accompanied by an up to 10-time increase of the exohiss wave power. These substorm-injected electrons are shown to produce a new peak of linear growth rate in the exohiss band(< 0.1 f_(ce)). The corresponding path-integrated growth rate of wave power within 10° latitude of the magnetic equatorial plane can reach 13.4, approximately explaining the observed enhancement of exohiss waves.
