1Micro and Nanofabrication methods to control cell-substrate interactions and cell behavior: A review from the tissue engineering perspective显示文摘Cell-substrate interactions play a crucial role in the design of better biomaterials and integration ofimplants with the tissues. Adhesion is the binding process of the cells to the substrate through interactionsbetween the surface molecules of the cell membrane and the substrate. There are severalfactors that affect cell adhesion including substrate surface chemistry, topography, and stiffness. Thesefactors physically and chemically guide and influence the adhesion strength, spreading, shape and fate ofthe cell. Recently, technological advances enabled us to precisely engineer the geometry and chemistry ofsubstrate surfaces enabling the control of the interaction cells with the substrate. Some of the mostcommonly used surface engineering methods for eliciting the desired cellular responses on biomaterialsare photolithography, electron beam lithography, microcontact printing, and microfluidics. Thesemethods allow production of nano- and micron level substrate features that can control cell adhesion,migration, differentiation, shape of the cells and the nuclei as well as measurement of the forces involvedin such activities. This review aims to summarize the current techniques and associate these techniqueswith cellular responses in order to emphasize the effect of chemistry, dimensions, density and design ofsurface patterns on cell-substrate interactions. 2Effects of tyrosine kinase inhibitor E7080 and eNOS inhibitor L-NIO on colorectal cancer alone and in combination显示文摘Objective:To investigate the effects of E7080 and N5-(1-iminoethyl)-L-ornithine dihydrochloride(L-NIO)on colorectal cancer alone and in combination.Methods:HT29 colorectal cancer cell line from Sap Institute was used.Real-time cell analysis(xCELLigence system)was performed to determine the effects of E7080 and L-NIO on colorectal cell proliferation.While apoptosis was determined with Annexin V staining,and the effect of agents on angiogenesis was determined with chorioallantoic membrane(CAM)model.Results:We found that E7080 has a strong antiproliferative effect with an half maximum inhibition of concentration(IC50)value of 5.60×10–8mol/L.Also it has been observed that E7080 showed antiangiogenic and apoptotic effects on HT29 colorectal cancer cells.Antiangiogenic scores of E7080 were 1.2,1.0 and 0.6for 100,10 and 1 nmol/L E7080 concentrations,respectively.Furthermore,apoptosis has been detected in71%of HT29 colorectal cancer cells after administration of 100 nmol/L E7080 which may indicate strong apoptotic effect.Meanwhile administration of L-NIO alone did not show any effect,but the combination of E7080 with L-NIO increased the antiproliferative,antiangiogenic and apoptotic effects of E7080.Conclusions:Results of this study indicate that E7080 may be a good choice in treatment of colorectal tumors.Furthermore the increased effects of E7080 when combined with L-NIO raise the possibility to use a lower dose of E7080 and therefore avoid/minimize the side effects observed with E7080.Ahmet Altun Tijen Kaya Temiz Ezgi Balc Zübeyde Ak n Polat Mustafa Turan 2013Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2013,25,5:4

104D printing of polyurethane paint-based composites显示文摘In recent studies,polyurethane has shown multiple properties that make it an excellent candidate material in 4D printing.In this study,we present a simple and inexpensive additive method to print waterborne polyurethane paint-based composites by adding carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC)and silicon oxide(SiO2)nanoparticles to the paint.The first function of CMC and SiO_(2) is to improve rheological properties of the polyurethane paint for making a printable precursor,which improves the printing resolution and enhances additive manufacturability.Second,the composite precursors improve the curing rate of the polyurethane paint without changing its inherited shape memory properties.Third,the printed composite parts shown enhanced mechanical strength compared with that of the parts printed with pure polyurethane.Finally,the 3D printedpolyurethane-CMCandSiO_(2) parts exhibit time-resolved shape transformation upon heat stimulation.To the best of our knowledge,this is the first study of using the polyurethane paint as the precursor for 4D printing,which would open new possibilities in future applications in biomedical engineering,soft robotics and so on.Jheng-Wun Su Wenxin Gao Khoinguyen Trinh Stuart M.Kenderes Ezgi Tekin Pulatsu Cheng Zhang Alan Whittington Mengshi Lin Jian Lin 2019International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials2019,10,3:1
