| 1 | Novel ternary g-C_3N_4/Fe_3O_4/MnWO_4 nanocomposites: Synthesis,characterization, and visible-light photocatalytic performance for environmental purposes显示文摘The g-C_3 N_4/Fe_3 O_4/MnWO_4 nanocomposites were prepared by a refluxing-calcination procedure. Visiblelight-induced photocatalytic experiments showed that the g-C_3 N_4/Fe_3 O_4/MnWO_4(10%) nanocomposite has excellent ability to degrade a range of contaminants including rhodamine B, methylene blue, methyl orange, and fuchsine, which is about 7, 10, 25, and 31 times of the g-C_3 N_4 photocatalyst, respectively.Reactive species trapping experiments revealed that superoxide anion radicals play major role in the photodegradation reaction of rhodamine B(RhB). After the treatment process, the utilized photocatalyst was magnetically recovered and reused with negligible loss in the photocatalytic activity, which is vital in the photocatalytic processes. | 2 | Effect of trapezoidal collars as a scour countermeasure around wing-wall abutments显示文摘Local scour around bridge abutments is a widespread problem that can result in structural failure. Collars can be used as a countermeasure to reduce the scour depth. In this study, the temporal scour development around a wing-wall abutment was investigated with and without collars.The tests were carried out under clear-water conditions for different abutment lengths, with collars of different sizes placed at the bed level.When no collar was used in the experiments, 70% of the maximum scour depth occurred in less than 2 h. However, when a collar with a width greater than the length of the abutment was used, no scour was observed for up to 200 min from the beginning of the experiments. The results show that an increase in the collar width not only led to a lag time for the onset of scouring but also reduced the maximum scour depth.Moreover, an increased collar width led to a better performance in mitigating scouring around smaller abutments. | 3 | Experimental and statistical assessments of the mechanical strength reliability of gamma alumina catalyst supports显示文摘The mechanical strength of solid catalysts is considered an important factor in terms of ensuring the reliable performance of industrial reactors.In this work,a pelletizing method was used to form gamma alumina support for catalysts.Response surface methodology(RSM) was employed to analyze and model the effects of various manufacturing parameters on the crushing strength of the supports.These parameters were binder concentration,compaction pressure,calcination temperature,and drying mode.The suggested model was verified by applying an analysis of variance to assess its validity with regard to crushing strength.The mechanical reliability of various supports was also determined by calculating their Weibull modulus values through linear regression of the Weibull equation.The material with the highest mechanical strength reliability will have both a high mean crushing strength and a high Weibull modulus,and the best values obtained for a support in this work were 70.7 MPa and 6.63,respectively.The conditions used to form this sample were:20mass%binder concentration,861 MPa compaction pressure,466 ℃ calcination temperature,and gentle drying. | Abdolreza Samimi Mozhgan Zakeri Basir Maleki Davod Mohebbi-Kalhori | 2015 | Particuology2015,13,4: | 2 |

| 6 | Combining the 8-hydroxyquinoline intercalated layered double hydroxide film and sol-gel coating for active corrosion protection of the magnesium alloy显示文摘8-hydroxyquinoline(8-HQ)intercalated layered double hydroxides(LDH)film as underlayer and sol-gel layer was combined for active corrosion protection of the AM60B magnesium alloy.The LDH,LDH/sol-gel,and LDH@HQ/sol-gel coatings were analyzed using the scanning electron microscopy(SEM),field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM),energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS),X-ray diffraction(XRD),atomic force microscopy(AFM),and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)methods.The SEM images showed that the surface was entirely coated by the LDH film composed of vertically-grown nanosheets.The same morphology was observed for the LDH/sol-gel and LDH@HQ/sol-gel coatings.Also,almost the same topography was observed for both composite coatings except that the LDH@HQ/sol-gel coating had relatively higher surface roughness.Although the LDH film had the same impedance behavior as the alloy sample in 3.5wt%NaCl solution,its corrosion resistance was much higher,which could be due to its barrier properties as well as to the trap-ping of the chloride ions.Similar to the LDH film,the corrosion resistance of the LDH/sol-gel composite diminished with increasing the ex-posure time.However,its values were much higher than that of the LDH film,which was mainly related to the sealing of the solution path-ways.The LDH@HQ/sol-gel composite showed much better anti-corrosion properties than the LDH/sol-gel coating due to the adsorption of the 8-HQ on the damaged areas through the complexation. | Yahya Jafari Tarzanagh Davod Seifzadeh Roghaye Samadianfard | 2022 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,3: | 1 |
| 7 | Investigation of Poly(ether-b-amide)/Nanosilica Membranes for CO_2/CH_4 Separation显示文摘The results of molecular dynamics(MD) simulations on transport process of CO2 and CH4 gases in poly(ether-bamide)(PEBAX)/nanosilica membranes are discussed. The diffusion coefficients for CH4 and CO2 gases at 6 cases with different amounts of nanosilica loading in the simulation boxes are presented. The results show that diffusion coefficients for CO2 gas in all cases are larger than those for the CH4 one. Moreover 10% nanosilica loading case shows maximum effects on diffusion coefficients and improves them by more than 68% and 157% for CO2 and CH4 gases, respectively. Additionally, the results of 3-D Cartesian trajectories and displacements curves are presented and the jumping attempt of CO2 is significantly more than that of CH4. | 18 | Drug resistance pattern of Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates from patients of five provinces of Iran显示文摘Objective:To determine the patterns of resistance to first line anti-tuberculosis(TB)drugs among a collection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis(MTB)isolates from 5 provinces of Iran.Methods:A total of the 6 426 clinical specimens from patients suspected of active TB were collected from March 2010 to June 2012.All specimens were subjected for microscopy and culture tests in the TB centers of studies provinces.Drug susceptibility testing to the first line anti-TB drugs for culture positive MTB was performed on Lwenstein-Jensen(LJ)medium using proportion method.Results:Of 6 426 clinical specimens,261 were culture positive for mycobacteria,of which 252 were MTB and 9 were MOTT(mycobacteria other than tuberculosis).Of 252 MTB isolates.211(83.7%)were pan-susceptible and 41(16.3%)were resistant to at least one drug.Resistance was most common to streptomycin.30 isolates(12.0%),followed by isoniuzid,20isolates(8.0%),rifampin,15 isolates(6.0%)and ethambutol,14 isolates(5.5%).Sixteen(6.3%)MTB isolates were MDR.A clear evidence of heterogeneity amongst the 5 provinces in the proportions with resistance to one or more drugs was observed[χ~2=12.209(4 degrees of freedom),P values=0.015 9].Conclusions:The prevalence of drug resistance in this study area underscoring the need for further enforcement of TB control strategies in the Iran.Drug susceptibility testing for all TB cases to provide optimal treatment,establishing advanced diagnostic facilities for rapid detection of MDR-TB and continuous monitoring of drug resistance are recommended for prevention and control of drug-resistant TB. | Mohammad Javad Nasiri Faranak Rezaei Samin Zamani Davod Darban-Sarokhalil Abbas Ali Imani Fooladi Hasan Shojaei Mohammad Mehdi Feizabadi | 2014 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2014,7,3: | 0 |
