| 2 | Endocrine radionuclide scintigraphy with fusion single photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography显示文摘AIM: To review the benefits of single photon emission computed tomography(SPECT)/computed tomography(CT) hybrid imaging for diagnosis of various endocrine disorders.METHODS: We performed MEDLINE and Pub Med searches using the terms: 'SPECT/CT'; 'functional anatomic mapping'; 'transmission emission tomography'; 'parathyroid adenoma'; 'thyroid cancer'; 'neuroendocrine tumor'; 'adrenal'; 'pheochromocytoma'; 'paraganglioma'; in order to identify relevant articles published in English during the years 2003 to 2015. Reference lists from the articles were reviewed to identify additional pertinent articles. Retrieved manuscripts(case reports, reviews, meta-analyses and abstracts) concerning the application of SPECT/CT to endocrine imaging were analyzed to provide a descriptive synthesis of the utility of this technology.RESULTS: The emergence of hybrid SPECT/CT camera technology now allows simultaneous acquisition of combined multi-modality imaging, with seamless fusion of three-dimensional volume datasets. The usefulness of combining functional information to depict the biodistribution of radiotracers that map cellular processes of the endocrine system and tumors of endocrine origin, with anatomy derived from CT, has improved the diagnostic capability of scintigraphy for a range of disorders of endocrine gland function. The literature describes benefits of SPECT/CT for ^(99m)Tc-sestamibi parathyroid scintigraphy and ^(99m)Tc-pertechnetate thyroid scintigraphy, ^(123)I- or ^(131)I-radioiodine for staging of differentiated thyroid carcinoma, ^(111)In- and ^(99m)Tclabeled somatostatin receptor analogues for detection of neuroendocrine tumors, ^(131)I-norcholesterol(NP-59) scans for assessment of adrenal cortical hyperfunction, and ^(123)I- or ^(131)I-metaiodobenzylguanidine imaging for evaluation of pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma.CONCLUSION: SPECT/CT exploits the synergism between the functional information from radiopharmaceutical imaging and anatomy from CT, translating to improved diagnostic accuracy and meaningful impact on patient care. | Ka-Kit Wong Arpit Gandhi Benjamin L Viglianti Lorraine M Fig Domenico Rubello Milton D Gross | 2016 | World Journal of Radiology2016,8,6: | 3 |
| 3 | Multilayer Neural Network Based Speech Emotion Recognition for Smart Assistance显示文摘Day by day,biometric-based systems play a vital role in our daily lives.This paper proposed an intelligent assistant intended to identify emotions via voice message.A biometric system has been developed to detect human emotions based on voice recognition and control a few electronic peripherals for alert actions.This proposed smart assistant aims to provide a support to the people through buzzer and light emitting diodes(LED)alert signals and it also keep track of the places like households,hospitals and remote areas,etc.The proposed approach is able to detect seven emotions:worry,surprise,neutral,sadness,happiness,hate and love.The key elements for the implementation of speech emotion recognition are voice processing,and once the emotion is recognized,the machine interface automatically detects the actions by buzzer and LED.The proposed system is trained and tested on various benchmark datasets,i.e.,Ryerson Audio-Visual Database of Emotional Speech and Song(RAVDESS)database,Acoustic-Phonetic Continuous Speech Corpus(TIMIT)database,Emotional Speech database(Emo-DB)database and evaluated based on various parameters,i.e.,accuracy,error rate,and time.While comparing with existing technologies,the proposed algorithm gave a better error rate and less time.Error rate and time is decreased by 19.79%,5.13 s.for the RAVDEES dataset,15.77%,0.01 s for the Emo-DB dataset and 14.88%,3.62 for the TIMIT database.The proposed model shows better accuracy of 81.02%for the RAVDEES dataset,84.23%for the TIMIT dataset and 85.12%for the Emo-DB dataset compared to Gaussian Mixture Modeling(GMM)and Support Vector Machine(SVM)Model. | Sandeep Kumar MohdAnul Haq Arpit Jain C.Andy Jason Nageswara Rao Moparthi Nitin Mittal Zamil S.Alzamil | 2023 | Computers, Materials & Continua2023,,1: | 2 |
| 4 | Diagnosis of neurocysticercosis among patients with seizures in northern coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh, India显示文摘Objective: To report cases of neurocysticercosis(NCC) from three neighboring districts of Andhra Pradesh state in India where NCC burden was never explored before.Methods: A total of 160 patients presenting with recent onset seizures were recruited from neurology, general medicine, and pediatric outpatient clinics of a local major tertiary care teaching hospital serving above districts during the period 2011–2014. Brain imaging was performed in all the above cases. A commercial immunoglobulin G-ELISA kit(sensitivity = 85%; specificity = 94%) was employed for the serological diagnosis of NCC.Results: The recruited patients presented with generalized, simple partial, and complex partial seizures(55%, 31.25% and 13.75% respectively). NCC was diagnosed in 44 of160(27.5%) seizure cases based on imaging characteristics, and a positive serum antibody ELISA. No association was detected between seropositivity with the number and location of the lesion(s) in the brain.Conclusions: The possible potentiality of NCC could be identified as an underlying cause of the recent onset of seizures in this region as explored in the present study. | 19 | Image smog restoration using oblique gradient profile prior and energy minimization显示文摘Removing the smog from digital images is a challenging pre-processing tool in various imaging systems.Therefore,many smog removal(i.e.,desmogging)models are proposed so far to remove the effect of smog from images.The desmogging models are based upon a physical model,it means it requires efficient estimation of transmission map and atmospheric veil from a single smoggy image.Therefore,many prior based restoration models are proposed in the literature to estimate the transmission map and an atmospheric veil.However,these models utilized computationally extensive minimization of an energy function.Also,the existing restoration models suffer from various issues such as distortion of texture,edges,and colors.Therefore,in this paper,a convolutional neural network(CNN)is used to estimate the physical attributes of smoggy images.Oblique gradient channel prior(OGCP)is utilized to restore the smoggy images.Initially,a dataset of smoggy and sunny images are obtained.Thereafter,we have trained CNN to estimate the smog gradient from smoggy images.Finally,based upon the computed smog gradient,OGCP is utilized to restore the still smoggy images.Performance analyses reveal that the proposed CNN-OGCP based desmogging model outperforms the existing desmogging models in terms of various performance metrics. | Ashok KUMAR Arpit JAIN | 2021 | Frontiers of Computer Science2021,15,6: | 0 |
