| 1 | Synthesis of Porous NiO Nanocrystals with Controllable Surface Area and Their Application as Supercapacitor Electrodes显示文摘We report a facile way to grow various porous NiO nanostructures including nanoslices,nanoplates,and nanocolumns,which show a structure-dependence in their specific charge capacitances.The formation of controllable porosity is due to the dehydration and re-crystallization of β-Ni(OH)_(2) nanoplates synthesized by a hydrothermal process.Thermogravimetric analysis shows that the decomposition temperature of the β-Ni(OH)_(2) nanostructures is related to their morphology.In electrochemical tests,the porous NiO nanostructures show stable cycling performance with retention of specific capacitance over 1000 cycles.Interestingly,the formation of nanocolumns by the stacking of β-Ni(OH)_(2) nanoslices/plates favors the creation of small pores in the NiO nanocrystals obtained after annealing,and the surface area is over five times larger than that of NiO nanoslices and nanoplates.Consequently,the specific capacitance of the porous NiO nanocolumns(390 F/g)is significantly higher than that of the nanoslices(176 F/g)or nanoplates(285 F/g)at a discharge current of 5 A/g.This approach provides a clear illustration of the process-structure-property relationship in nanocrystal synthesis and potentially offers strategies to enhance the performance of supercapacitor electrodes. | Xiaojun Zhang Wenhui Shi Jixin Zhu Weiyun Zhao Jan Ma Subodh Mhaisalkar Tuti Lim Maria Yanhui Yang Hua Zhang Huey Hoon Hng Qingyu Yan | 2010 | Nano Research2010,3,9: | 24 |

| 4 | Prevalence of excessive internet use and its correlation with associated psychopathology in 11th and 12th grade students显示文摘Background Globally, the number of internet users has crossed the three-billion mark, while in India users grew over 17% in the first 6 months of 2015 to 354 million. This study presented a background on internet use and the existence of excessive internet use. Aim To study the extent of internet use in 11th and 12th grade students and the psychopathology, if any, associated with excessive internet use. Methods 426 students who met the inclusion criteria were recruited from 11 th and 12th grade classes from Kendriya Vidyalaya, New Delhi, India, and were assessed by Young's Internet Addiction Test and the Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire. Results Among the 426 students, the mean internet addiction total score was 36.63 (20.78), which indicated mild level of internet addiction. 1.41%(six students) was diagnosed as excessive internet users, while 30.28% and 23.94% were classified as moderate and mild internet users, respectively. The prevalence of internet addiction between gender was 58.22% in males and 41.78% in females. While both positive (prosocial) and negative (hyperactivity, emotional, conduct and peer problem) impacts of internet use were reported by students, in the current study excessive use of internet had a negative impact on students' lives as compared with positive impact, which was statistically significant (p<0.0001). Conclusion Excessive internet use led to abnormal behaviours which cause negative consequences to users. | 5 | Do we really need to repair the pronator quadratus after distal radius plating?显示文摘Purpose:Fractures of distal radius are one of the common orthopaedic injuries.Placing the plate on volar surface requires release of underlying pronator quadratus(PQ)muscle.No consensus is present in the literature about the repair or not of the PQ.The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of PQ repair on functional outcome and complications.Methods:Retrospectively 83 patients of distal radius fractures managed with volar plating between 2014 and 2016 were evaluated.Demographic data,operative notes and physical therapy records were retrieved.Patients were divided into group A where PQ repair was done and group B where no repair was done.Functional data such as range of motion(ROM),grip strength,visual analogue scale(VAS)score and disabilities of arm,shoulder and hand(DASH)score at 4 weeks,3 months,6 months and finial follow-up were retrieved.Results:Totally 63 patients(n=29 in group A and n=34 in group B)with the mean age of 51.64 years were examined.Patients were followed up for a mean of 35.2 months(range 27.2-47.1 months)in group A and 38.6 months(range 28.6-51.0 months)in group B.Though functional outcome of the affected limb was not significantly different between two groups after 3 months,PQ repair did affect the recovery at an early stage.Repair group had significantly better ROM(p=0.0383)and VAS score at 4 weeks(p=0.017)while grip strength(p=0.014)was significantly better at 3 months.Conclusions:Repair of PQ may provide pain relief and increased ROM in early postoperative period and hence every attempt should be made to achieve the repair. | Subodh Pathak Rashid Anjum Rakesh Kumar Gautam Pritam Maheshwari Jatin Aggarwal Aryan Sharma Vineet Pruthi | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Traumatology2019,22,6: | 3 |
| 6 | Significance of inferior wall ischemia in non-dominant right coronary artery anatomy显示文摘AIM To investigate the relationship of inferior wall ischemia on myocardial perfusion imaging in patients with nondominant right coronary artery anatomy.METHODS This was a retrospective observational analysis of consecutive patients who presented to the emergency department with primary complaint of chest pain.Only patients who underwent single photon emission computed tomography(SPECT)myocardial perfusion imaging(MPI)were included.Patients who showed a reversible defect on SPECT MPI and had coronary angiography during the same hospitalization was analyzed.Patients with prior history of coronary artery disease(CAD)including history of percutaneous coronary intervention and coronary artery bypass graft surgerys were excluded.True positive and false positive results were identified on the basis of hemodynamically significant CAD on coronary angiography,in the same territory as identified on SPECT MPI.Coronary artery dominance was determined on coronary angiography.Patients were divided into group 1 and group 2.Group1 included patients with non-dominant right coronary artery(RCA)(left dominant and codominant).Group2 included patients with dominant RCA anatomy.Demographics,baseline characteristics and positive predictive value(PPV)were analyzed for the two groups.RESULTS The mean age of the study cohort was 57.6 years.Sixtyone point seven percent of the patients were males.The prevalence of self-reported diabetes mellitus,hypertension and dyslipidemia was 36%,71.9%and 53.9%respectively.A comparison of baseline characteristics between the two groups showed that patients with a non-dominant RCA were more likely to be men.For inferior wall ischemia on SPECT MPI,patients in study group 2 had a significantly higher PPV,32/42(76.1%),compared to patients in group 1,in which only 3 out of the 29 patients(10.3%)had true positive results(P value<0.001 Z test).The difference remained statistically significant even when only patients with left dominant coronary system(without co-dominant)were compared to patients with right dominant system(32/40,76.1%in right dominant group,3/19,15.8%in left dominant group,P value<0.001 Z test).There was no significant difference in mean hospital stay,re-hospitalization,and in-hospital mortality between the two groups.CONCLUSION The positive predictive value of SPECT MPI for inferior wall ischemia is affected by coronary artery dominance.More studies are needed to explain this phenomenon. | Ali Osama Malik Oliver Abela Subodh Devabhaktuni Arhama Aftab Malik Gayle Allenback Chowdhury H Ahsan Sanjay Malhotra Jimmy Diep | 2017 | World Journal of Cardiology2017,9,3: | 2 |

| 12 | GDF15 promotes prostate cancer bone metastasis and colonization through osteoblastic CCL2 and RANKL activation显示文摘Bone metastases occur in patients with advanced-stage prostate cancer(PCa). The cell-cell interaction between PCa and the bone microenvironment forms a vicious cycle that modulates the bone microenvironment, increases bone deformities, and drives tumor growth in the bone. However, the molecular mechanisms of PCa-mediated modulation of the bone microenvironment are complex and remain poorly defined. Here, we evaluated growth differentiation factor-15(GDF15) function using in vivo preclinical PCa-bone metastasis mouse models and an in vitro bone cell coculture system. Our results suggest that PCa-secreted GDF15 promotes bone metastases and induces bone microarchitectural alterations in a preclinical xenograft model. Mechanistic studies revealed that GDF15 increases osteoblast function and facilitates the growth of PCa in bone by activating osteoclastogenesis through osteoblastic production of CCL2 and RANKL and recruitment of osteomacs. | 13 | Modelling of piping collapses and gully headcut landforms: Evaluating topographic variables from different types of DEM显示文摘The geomorphic studies are extremely dependent on the quality and spatial resolution of digital elevation model(DEM)data.The unique terrain characteristics of a particular landscape are derived from DEM,which are responsible for initiation and development of ephemeral gullies.As the topographic features of an area significantly influences on the erosive power of the water flow,it is an important task the extraction of terrain features from DEM to properly research gully erosion.Alongside,topography is highly correlated with other geo-environmental factors i.e.geology,climate,soil types,vegetation density and floristic composition,runoff generation,which ultimately influences on gully occurrences.Therefore,terrain morphometric attributes derived from DEM data are used in spatial prediction of gully erosion susceptibility(GES)mapping.In this study,remote sensing-Geographic information system(GIS)techniques coupled with machine learning(ML)methods has been used for GES mapping in the parts of Semnan province,Iran.Current research focuses on the comparison of predicted GES result by using three types of DEM i.e.Advanced Land Observation satellite(ALOS),ALOS World 3D-30 m(AW3D30)and Advanced Space borne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer(ASTER)in different resolutions.For further progress of our research work,here we have used thirteen suitable geo-environmental gully erosion conditioning factors(GECFs)based on the multi-collinearity analysis.ML methods of conditional inference forests(Cforest),Cubist model and Elastic net model have been chosen for modelling GES accordingly.Variable’s importance of GECFs was measured through sensitivity analysis and result show that elevation is the most important factor for occurrences of gullies in the three aforementioned ML methods(Cforest=21.4,Cubist=19.65 and Elastic net=17.08),followed by lithology and slope.Validation of the model’s result was performed through area under curve(AUC)and other statistical indices.The validation result of AUC has shown that Cforest is the most appropriate model for predicting the GES assessment in three different DEMs(AUC value of Cforest in ALOS DEM is 0.994,AW3D30 DEM is 0.989 and ASTER DEM is 0.982)used in this study,followed by elastic net and cubist model.The output result of GES maps will be used by decision-makers for sustainable development of degraded land in this study area. | Alireza Arabameri Fatemeh Rezaie Subodh Chandra Pal Artemi Cerda Asish Saha Rabin Chakrabortty Saro Lee | 2021 | Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,6: | 2 |
