| 1 | Programmable time-domain digital-coding metasurface for non-linear harmonic manipulation and new wireless communication systems显示文摘Optical non-linear phenomena are typically observed in natural materials interacting with light at high intensities, and they benefit a diverse range of applications from communication to sensing. However,controlling harmonic conversion with high efficiency and flexibility remains a major issue in modern optical and radio-frequency systems. Here, we introduce a dynamic time-domain digital-coding metasurface that enables efficient manipulation of spectral harmonic distribution. By dynamically modulating the local phase of the surface reflectivity, we achieve accurate control of different harmonics in a highly programmable and dynamic fashion, enabling unusual responses, such as velocity illusion. As a relevant application, we propose and realize a novel architecture for wireless communication systems based on the time-domain digital-coding metasurface, which largely simplifies the architecture of modern communication systems, at the same time yielding excellent performance for real-time signal transmission. | 2 | Explicit diagnosis of the local ozone production rate and the ozone-NOx-VOC sensitivities显示文摘In the troposphere, ozone is a harmful gas compound to both human health and vegetation. Ozone is produced from the reaction of NO_x(@NO + NO_2) and VOCs(volatile organic compounds) with light. Due to the highly nonlinear relationships between ozone and its precursors, proper ozone mitigation relies on the knowledge of chemical mechanisms. In this study, an observation-based method is used to simulate ozone formation and elucidate its controlling factors for a rural site on the North China Plain. The instantaneous ozone production rate is calculated utilizing a box model using the dataset obtained from the Wangdu campaign. First, the model was operated in a time-dependent mode to calculate the ozone production rate at each time stamp. The calculated ozone formation rate showed a diurnal average maximum value of 17 ppbv/h(1-h diurnal averaged). The contribution of individual peroxy radicals to ozone production was analyzed. In addition, the functional dependence of calculated P(O_3) reveals that ozone production was in a NO_x-limited regime during the campaign. Furthermore, the missing peroxy radical source will further extend NO_x-limited conditions to earlier in the day, making NO_xlimitation dominate more of a day than the current chemical model predicts. Finally, a multiple scenarios mode,also known as EKMA(empirical kinetic modeling approach), was used to simulate the response of P(O_3) to the imaginary change in precursor concentrations. We found that ozone production was in the NO_x-limited region. | 3 | Testing method and distribution characteristics of spatial pesticide spraying deposition quality balance for unmanned aerial vehicle显示文摘In order to explore the spatial pesticide spraying deposition distribution,the downwash flow field characteristics for unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)pesticide application with accurate flight height and velocity and the relationship of these two aspects,a novel measurement method was proposed in this paper.A model‘3WQF80-10’single-rotor diesel UAV was tested using this method in wheat field and the effects of flight direction,flight parameters and crosswind on the distribution of spatial spraying deposition quality balance(SSDQB)and the downwash flow field distribution were researched.A cuboid aluminum sampling frame of spatial spraying deposition quality balance(SFSSDQB)with monofilament wires was made for collecting the droplets in four directions,and a set of multi-channel micro-meteorology measurement system(MMMS)was applied for measuring the downwash wind speed in three directions.Besides,BeiDou Navigation Satellite System(BNSS)was used for controlling and recording the working height,velocity and track of this model of single-rotor UAV.The results showed the distribution of the spatial spray deposition and the downwash flow field of UAV could be measured effectively at exact flight height and velocity via this method.When the average wind speed was 0.9 m/s,the average temperature was 31.5℃ and the average relative humidity was 34.1%,and the average distribution ratios of spraying deposition for model‘3WQF80-10’UAV on the upwind part,the top part,the downwind part and the bottom part were 4.4%,2.3%,50.4%and 43.7%,respectively.The flight directions of forward and backward had an impact on droplet deposition distribution and the working effect of flying backwards,with 60%of deposition ratio of the bottom part of the SFSSDQB,was better than flying forward.There was a linear negative correlation between the coefficient of variation(CV)of the bottom part and the flight height and the coefficient of determination was 0.9178,which means that the deposition distribution becomes more uniform with the increase of height.Additionally,there was a linear positive correlation between weighted mean deposition rate and crosswind speed and the coefficient of determination was 0.9684,which shows the deposition distribution gets more concentrated towards the downwind part with the rise of crosswind speed.Therefore,according to the results of tests of downwash airflow speed,it is shown that regardless of the flight direction and height and the crosswind,all these factors influence the droplet deposition distribution via weakening the intensity of the downwash airflow field in the direction perpendicular to the ground.The results can provide valuable information for the research of UAV pesticide application techniques and the establishment of the standard of spraying deposition and drift tests of UAV in crop field. | Changling Wang Xiongkui He Xiaonan Wang Zhichong Wang Shilin Wang Longlong Li Jane Bonds Andreas Herbst Zhiguo Wang | 2018 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,2: | 14 |

| 5 | The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. | 6 | A study of morphing aircraft on morphing rules along trajectory显示文摘Morphing aircraft can meet requirements of multi-mission during the whole flight due to changing the aerodynamic shape,so it is necessary to study itsmorphing rules along the trajectory.However,trajectory planning considering morphing variables requires a huge number of expensive CFD computations due to the morphing in view of aerodynamic performance.Under the given missions and trajectory,to alleviate computational cost and improve trajectory-planning efficiency formorphing aircraft,an offline optimizationmethod is proposed based onMulti-Fidelity Kriging(MFK)modeling.The angle of attack,Mach number,sweep angle and axial position of the morphing wing are defined as variables for generating training data for building the MFK models,in which many inviscid aerodynamic solutions are used as low-fidelity data,while the less high-fidelity data are obtained by solving viscous flow.Then the built MFK models of the lift,drag and pressure centre at the different angles of attack andMach numbers are used to predict the aerodynamic performance of the morphing aircraft,which keeps the optimal sweep angle and axial position of the wing during trajectory planning.Hence,themorphing rules can be correspondingly acquired along the trajectory,aswell as keep the aircraftwith the best aerodynamic performance during thewhole task.The trajectory planning of amorphing aircraft was performed with the optimal aerodynamic performance based on the MFK models,built by only using 240 low-fidelity data and 110 high-fidelity data.The results indicate that a complex trajectory can take advantage of morphing rules in keeping good aerodynamic performance,and the proposed method is more efficient than trajectory optimization by reducing 86%of the computing time. | Xiaoyu CHEN Chunna LI Chunlin GONG Liangxian GU Andrea Da RONCH | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,7: | 8 |

| 8 | Crystal structure of the ubiquitin-like domain of human TBK1显示文摘TANK-binding kinase 1(TBK1)is an important enzyme in the regulation of cellular antiviral effects.TBK1 regulates the activity of the interferon regulatory factors IRF3 and IRF7,thereby playing a key role in type I interferon(IFN)signaling pathways.The structure of TBK1 consists of an N-terminal kinase domain,a middle ubiquitin-like domain(ULD),and a C-terminal elongated helical domain.It has been reported that the ULD of TBK1 regulates kinase activity,playing an important role in signaling and mediating interactions with other molecules in the IFN pathway.In this study,we present the crystal structure of the ULD of human TBK1 and identify several con-served residues by multiple sequence alignment.We found that a hydrophobic patch in TBK1,containing residues Leu316,Ile353,and Val382,corresponding to the“Ile44 hydrophobic patch”observed in ubiquitin,was conserved in TBK1,IκB kinase epsilon(IKKε/IKKi),IκB kinase alpha(IKKα),and IκB kinase beta(IKKβ).In com-parison with the structure of the IKKβULD domain of Xenopus laevis,we speculate that the Ile44 hydrophobic patch of TBK1 is present in an intramolecular binding surface between ULD and the C-terminal elongated heli-ces.The varying surface charge distributions in the ULD domains of IKK and IKK-related kinases may be relevant to their specificity for specific partners. | Jian Li Jun Li Andrea Miyahira Jian Sun Yingfang Liu Genhong Cheng Huanhuan Liang | 2012 | Protein & Cell2012,3,5: | 5 |
| 9 | Towards a natural classification of Botryosphaeriales显示文摘The type specimens of Auerswaldia,Auerswaldiella,Barriopsis,Botryosphaeria,Leptoguignardia,Melanops,Neodeightonia,Phaeobotryon,Phaeobotryosphaeria,Phyllachorella,Pyrenostigme,Saccharata,Sivanesania,Spencermartinsia and Vestergrenia were examined and fresh specimens of Botryosphaeriales were collected from Thailand.This material is used to provide a systematic treatment of Botryosphaeriales based on morphology and phylogeny.Two new genera,Botryobambusa and Cophinforma are introduced and comparedwith existing genera.Four species newto science,Auerswaldia dothiorella,A.lignicola,Botryosphaeria fusispora and Phaeobotryosphaeria eucalypti,are also described and justified.We accept 29 genera in Botryosphaeriales,with Macrovalsaria being newly placed.In the phylogenetic tree,the 114 strains of Botyrosphaeriales included in the analysis cluster into two major clades with 80%,96%and 1.00(MP,ML and BY)support,with Clade A containing the family type of Botryosphaeriaceae,and Clade B containing Phyllosticta,Saccharata and Melanops species.This group may represent Phyllostictaceae.In Clade A the taxa analyzed cluster in eight sub-clades(Clades A1-8).Clade A1 comprises three distinct subclusters corresponding to the genera Diplodia(Diplodia Clade),Neodeightonia(Neodeightonia Clade)and Lasiodiplodia(Lasiodiplodia Clade).Clade A2 clusters into three groups representing Phaeobotryosphaeria(100%),Phaeobotryon(100%)and Barriopsis(94%).Clade A3 incorporates 17 strains that cluster into three well-supported genera(Dothiorella(86%),Spencermartinsia(100%)and Auerswaldia(63%);the position of Macrophomina is not stable.Clade A4 is a single lineage(100%)representing the new genus Botryobambusa.Clade A5 is a wellsupported subclade incorporating Neofussicoccum.Clade A6 represents the type species of Botryosphaeria,three other Botryosphaeria species and two other genera,Neoscytalidium and Cophinforma gen.nov.Clade A7 comprises two Pseudofusicoccum species and Clade A8 has two Aplosporella species.These sub-clades may eventually require separate families but this requires analysis of a much larger dataset.Our data advances the understanding of Botryosphaeriales,there is,however,still much research to be carried out with resolution of families and genera,linkage of sexual and asexual morphs and differentiation of cryptic species. | Jian-Kui Liu Rungtiwa Phookamsak Mingkhuan Doilom Saowanee Wikee Yan-Mei Li Hiran Ariyawansha Saranyaphat Boonmee Putarak Chomnunti Dong-Qin Dai Jayarama D.Bhat Andrea I.Romero Wen-Ying Zhuang Jutamart Monkai E.B.Gareth Jones Ekachai Chukeatirote Thida Win Ko Ko Yong-Chang Zhao Yong Wang Kevin D.Hyde | 2012 | Fungal Diversity2012,,6: | 4 |
| 10 | TiN Paper for Ultrafast-Charging Supercapacitors显示文摘Ultrafast-charging energy storage devices are attractive for powering personal electronics and electric vehicles.Most ultrafast-charging devices are made of carbonaceous materials such as chemically converted graphene and carbon nanotubes.Yet,their relatively low electrical conductivity may restrict their performance at ultrahigh charging rate.Here,we report the fabrication of a porous titanium nitride(TiN)paper as an alternative electrode material for ultrafast-charging devices.The TiN paper shows an excellent conductivity of 3.67×104 S m−1,which is considerably higher than most carbon-based electrodes.The paper-like structure also contains a combination of large pores between interconnected nanobelts and mesopores within the nanobelts.This unique electrode enables fast charging by simultaneously providing efficient ion diffusion and electron transport.The supercapacitors(SCs)made of TiN paper enable charging/discharging at an ultrahigh scan rate of 100 V s−1 in a wide voltage window of 1.5 V in Na2SO4 neutral electrolyte.It has an outstanding response time with a characteristic time constant of 4 ms.Significantly,the TiN paper-based SCs also show zero capacitance loss after 200,000 cycles,which is much better than the stability performance reported for other metal nitride SCs.Furthermore,the device shows great promise in scalability.The filtration method enables good control of the thickness and mass loading of TiN electrodes and devices. | Bin Yao Mingyang Li Jing Zhang Lei Zhang Yu Song Wang Xiao Andrea Cruz Yexiang Tong Yat Li | 2020 | Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,1: | 3 |

| 18 | Long-term outcomes after fractional flow reserve-guided percutaneous coronary intervention in patients with severe coronary stenosis显示文摘Objective To explore the safety and efficacy of FFR-guided percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in vessels with severe diameter stenosis. Methods & Results Of 1090 patients undergoing fractional flow reserve (FFR) assessment from 2002 to 2009,we identified 167 patients in whom FFR was measured in at least one 70%–89% stenotic lesion. These patients were subdivided into an FFR-defer group (n = 49) if PCI was deferred (FFR > 0.80),and an FFR-perform group (n = 118) if PCI was performed (FFR ≤ 0.80). Comparatively,an additional 1176 patients undergoing PCI in at least one lesion with 70%–89% stenosis but without measurement of FFR served as a control (angiography- guided) group. Clinical outcomes were compared during a median follow-up of 49.0 months. The 5-year Kaplan-Meier estimated revascularization rates were 16% in the FFR-defer group and 33% in the FFR-perform group (P = 0.046). The incidence of major adverse cardiac events were comparable in these two groups (HR = 0.82,95% CI: 0.37–1.82,P = 0.63). The number of stents placed was significantly lower in the FFR-guided group (0.9 ± 0.8 vs. 1.4 ± 0.8,P < 0.001). Conclusions Functional revascularization for lesions with visually severe stenosis is clinically safe and associated with fewer stents use.
