Towards a natural classification of Botryosphaeriales显示文摘The type specimens of Auerswaldia,Auerswaldiella,Barriopsis,Botryosphaeria,Leptoguignardia,Melanops,Neodeightonia,Phaeobotryon,Phaeobotryosphaeria,Phyllachorella,Pyrenostigme,Saccharata,Sivanesania,Spencermartinsia and Vestergrenia were examined and fresh specimens of Botryosphaeriales were collected from Thailand. This material is used to provide a systematic treatment of Botryosphaeriales based on morphology and phylogeny. Two new genera,Botryobambusa and Cophinforma are introduced and comparedwith existing genera.Four species newto science,Auerswaldia dothiorella,A.lignicola,Botryosphaeria fusispora and Phaeobotryosphaeria eucalypti, are also described and justified. We accept 29 genera in Botryosphaeriales, with Macrovalsaria being newly placed. In the phylogenetic tree, the 114 strains of Botyrosphaeriales included in the analysis cluster into two major clades with 80%,96%and 1.00(MP,ML and BY)support, with Clade A containing the family type of Botryosphaeriaceae, and Clade B containing Phyllosticta,Saccharata and Melanops species. This group may represent Phyllostictaceae. In Clade A the taxa analyzed cluster in eight sub-clades(Clades A1-8).Clade A1 comprises three distinct subclusters corresponding to the genera Diplodia(Diplodia Clade),Neodeightonia(Neodeightonia Clade)and Lasiodiplodia(Lasiodiplodia Clade).Clade A2 clusters into three groups representing Phaeobotryosphaeria(100%),Phaeobotryon(100%)and Barriopsis(94%).Clade A3 incorporates 17 strains that cluster into three well-supported genera(Dothiorella(86%),Spencermartinsia(100%)and Auerswaldia(63%);the position of Macrophomina is not stable.Clade A4 is a single lineage(100%)representing the new genus Botryobambusa.Clade A5 is a wellsupported subclade incorporating Neofussicoccum.Clade A6 represents the type species of Botryosphaeria, three other Botryosphaeria species and two other genera,Neoscytalidium and Cophinforma gen.nov.Clade A7 comprises two Pseudofusicoccum species and Clade A8 has two Aplosporella species. These sub-clades may eventually require separate families but this requires analysis of a much larger dataset. Our data advances the understanding of Botryosphaeriales, there is,however, still much research to be carried out with resolution of families and genera, linkage of sexual and asexual morphs and differentiation of cryptic species.Jian-Kui Liu Rungtiwa Phookamsak Mingkhuan Doilom Saowanee Wikee Yan-Mei Li Hiran Ariyawansha Saranyaphat Boonmee Putarak Chomnunti Dong-Qin Dai Jayarama D.Bhat Andrea I.Romero Wen-Ying Zhuang Jutamart Monkai E.B.Gareth Jones Ekachai Chukeatirote Thida Win Ko Ko Yong-Chang Zhao Yong Wang Kevin D.Hyde 2012Fungal Diversity2012,,6:4
Families of Sordariomycetes显示文摘Sordariomycetes is one of the largest classes of Ascomycota that comprises a highly diverse range of fungi characterized mainly by perithecial ascomata and inoperculate unitunicate asci. The class includes many important plant pathogens,as well as endophytes, saprobes, epiphytes, coprophilous and fungicolous, lichenized or lichenicolous taxa. They occur in terrestrial, freshwater and marine habitats worldwide. This paper reviews the 107 families of the class Sordariomycetes and provides a modified backbone tree based on phylogenetic analysis of four combined loci, with a maximum five representative taxa from each family, where available. This paper brings together for the first time, since Barrs’1990 Prodromus, descriptions, notes on the history, and plates or illustrations of type or representative taxa of each family,a list of accepted genera, including asexual genera and a key to these taxa of Sordariomycetes.Delineation of taxa is supported where possible by molecular data. The outline is based on literature to the end of 2015 and the Sordariomycetes now comprises six subclasses,32 orders,105 families and 1331 genera. The family Obryzaceae and Pleurotremataceae are excluded from the class.Sajeewa S.N.Maharachchikumbura Kevin D.Hyde E.B.Gareth Jones E.H.C.McKenzie Jayarama D.Bhat Monika C.Dayarathne Shi-Ke Huang Chada Norphanphoun Indunil C.Senanayake Rekhani H.Perera Qiu-Ju Shang Yuanpin Xiao Melvina J.D’souza Sinang Hongsanan Ruvishika S.Jayawardena Dinushani A.Daranagama Sirinapa Konta Ishani D.Goonasekara Wen-Ying Zhuang Rajesh Jeewon Alan J.L.Phillips Mohamed A.Abdel-Wahab Abdullah M.Al-Sadi Ali H.Bahkali Saranyaphat Boonmee Nattawut Boonyuen Ratchadawan Cheewangkoon Asha J.Dissanayake Jichuan Kang Qi-Rui Li Jian Kui Liu Xing Zhong Liu Zuo-Yi Liu JJennifer Luangsa-ard Ka-Lai Pang Rungtiwa Phookamsak Itthayakorn Promputtha Satinee Suetrong Marc Stadler Tingchi Wen Nalin N.Wijayawardene 2016Fungal Diversity2016,,4:3
The families Distoseptisporaceae fam.nov.,Kirschsteiniotheliaceae,Sporormiaceae and Torulaceae, with new species from freshwater in Yunnan Province,China显示文摘During a north–south latitudinal survey of aquatic fungi on submerged wood and herbaceous material in streams in the Asian region,we collected several hyphomycetous taxa. This paper is part of a series where we provide illustrated accounts of these taxa and place them in a natural classification in the fungi.DNA sequence based phylogenies in recent literature have shown that Dendryphion,Sporidesmium and Torula-like species are polyphyletic in the phylum Ascomycota and their taxonomyhas been problematic due to a lack of understanding of the importance of morphological characters used to delimit taxa,as well as the lack of ex-type or reference strains.Based on multi-locus phylogenies together with morphology,we propose the novel family Distoseptisporaceae(Sordariomycetes)and three novel genera Neotorula(Pleosporales,Dothideomycetes),Distoseptispora(Sordariomycetes)and Pseudosporidesmium(Sordariomycetes). In addition,Dendryphion aquaticum,D.submersum,Distoseptispora fluminicola,D.aquatica,Kirschsteiniothelia submersa,Neotorula aquatica,Sporidesmium aquaticum,S.submersum and S.fluminicola are introduced as new species.Pseudosporidesmium knawiae comb.nov.is proposed to accommodate Sporidesmium knawiae in Sordariomycetes. The polyphyletic nature of Dendryphion,Sporidesmium and Torula-like species are partially resolved, but further sampling with fresh collections and molecular data of species are needed to obtain a natural classification.HongYan Su Kevin D.Hyde Sajeewa S.N.Maharachchikumbura Hiran A.Ariyawansa ZongLong Luo Itthayakorn Promputtha Qing Tian ChuanGen Lin QiuJu Shang YongChang Zhao HongMei Chai XiaoYing Liu Ali H.Bahkali Jayarama D.Bhat Eric H.C.McKenzie DeQun Zhou 2016Fungal Diversity2016,,5:2
Tubeufiales,ord.nov.,integrating sexual and asexual generic names显示文摘Tubeufiaceae is based on the generic type Tubeufia, which is characterized by superficial, oval and bright ascomata, bitunicate asci, mostly long fusiform to filiform, transeptate ascospores and hyphomycetous asexual states with helicosporous conidia. Most species in this family are saprobic on terrestrial woody substrates and some are aquatic.Their distinct morphology as well as combined LSU,SSU and TEF1 sequence analysis show that Tubeufiaceae should be accommodated in a new order Tubeufiales, which is introduced in this paper.Phylogenetic analyses of combined LSU and ITS sequences were used to resolve genera and species within the family Tubeufiaceae. In this study,we examine and incorporate sexual and asexual states of genera in Tubeufiales to provide a modern treatment, based on single names. An epitype for Tubeufia javanica, the type species of Tubeufia,is designated and represents Tubeufia sensu stricto. The genera Acanthophiobolus,Acanthostigma,Boerlagiomyces,Chlamydotubeufia,Kamalomyces,Podonectria,Thaxteriella and Thaxteriellopsis are accepted,Acanthostigmina is reinstated, and the asexual genera Aquaphila,Helicoma,Helicomyces,Helicosporium and Tamhinispora are accepted in Tubeufiaceae.Three new genera Acanthohelicospora,Helicangiospora and Neoacanthostigma are introduced. The genus Bifrontia is added to the family based on morphological similarity. The incongruous morphological genera Acanthostigmella,Amphinectria,Chaetocrea,Chaetosphaerulina,Glaxoa,Malacaria,Melioliphila,Paranectriella,Puttemansia,Rebentischia and Uredinophila are excluded from Tubeufiaceae despite having characteristic ascomata with setae and multiseptate long spores.A key to genera accepted in Tubeufiaceae is provided.Saranyaphat Boonmee Amy Y.Rossman Jian-Kui Liu Wen-Jing Li Don-Qing Dai Jayarama D.Bhat E.B.Gareth Jones Eric H.C.McKenzie Jian-Chu Xu Kevin D.Hyde 2014Fungal Diversity2014,,5:2
Refined families of Dothideomycetes:orders and families incertae sedis in Dothideomycetes显示文摘Numerous new taxa and classifications of Dothideomycetes have been published following the last monograph of families of Dothideomycetes in 2013.A recent publication by Honsanan et al.in 2020 expanded information of families in Dothideo-mycetidae and Pleosporomycetidae with modern classifications. In this paper,we provide a refined updated document on orders and families incertae sedis of Dothideomycetes. Each family is provided with an updated description, notes, including figures to represent the morphology,a list of accepted genera, and economic and ecological significances. We also provide phylogenetic trees for each order. In this study,31 orders which consist 50 families are assigned as orders incertae sedis in Dothideomycetes, and 41 families are treated as families incertae sedis due to lack of molecular or morphological evidence. The new order,Catinellales, and four new families,Catinellaceae,Morenoinaceae Neobuelliellaceae and Thyrinulaceae are introduced.Seven genera(Neobuelliella,Pseudomicrothyrium,Flagellostrigula,Swinscowia,Macroconstrictolumina,Pseudobogoriella, and Schummia)are introduced.Seven new species(Acrospermum urticae,Bogoriella complexoluminata,Dothiorella ostryae,Dyfrolomyces distoseptatus,Macroconstrictolumina megalateralis,Patellaria microspora, and Pseu-domicrothyrium thailandicum)are introduced base on morphology and phylogeny, together with two new records/reports and five new collections from different families.Ninety new combinations are also provided in this paper.Sinang Hongsanan Kevin D.Hyde Rungtiwa Phookamsak Dhanushka N.Wanasinghe Eric H.C.McKenzie V.Venkateswara Sarma Robert Lücking Saranyaphat Boonmee Jayarama D.Bhat Ning-Guo Liu Danushka S.Tennakoon Dhandevi Pem Anuruddha Karunarathna Shu-Hua Jiang Gareth E.B.Jones Alan J.L.Phillips Ishara S.Manawasinghe Saowaluck Tibpromma Subashini C.Jayasiri Diana Sandamali Ruvishika S.Jayawardena Nalin N.Wijayawardene Anusha H.Ekanayaka Rajesh Jeewon Yong-Zhong Lu Chayanard Phukhamsakda Asha J.Dissanayake Xiang-Yu Zeng Zong-Long Luo Qing Tian Kasun M.Thambugala Dongqin Dai Milan C.Samarakoon K.W.Thilini Chethana Damien Ertz Mingkwan Doilom Jian-Kui(Jack)Liu Sergio Pérez-Ortega Ave Suija Chanokned Senwanna Subodini N.Wijesinghe Mekala Niranjan Sheng-Nan Zhang Hiran A.Ariyawansa Hong-Bo Jiang Jin-Feng Zhang Chada Norphanphoun Nimali Ide Silva Vinodhini Thiyagaraja Huang Zhang Jadson D.P.Bezerra Ricardo Miranda-González AndréAptroot Hiroyuki Kashiwadani Dulanjalee Harishchandra Emmanuël Sérusiaux Pranami DAbeywickrama Dan-Feng Bao Bandarupalli Devadatha Hai-Xia Wu Kwang Hee Moon Cecile Gueidan Felix Schumm Digvijayini Bundhun Ausana Mapook Jutamart Monkai Chitrabhanu S.Bhunjun Putarak Chomnunti Satinee Suetrong Napalai Chaiwan Monika C.Dayarathne Jing Yang Achala R.Rathnayaka Jian-Chu Xu Jiesheng Zheng Gang Liu Yao Feng Ning Xie 2020Fungal Diversity2020,,6:1
Taxonomic studies of some often over-looked Diaporthomycetidae and Sordariomycetidae显示文摘Sordariomycetes is an earlier-introduced and one of the widely distributed class of Ascomycota. The class was initially clas-sified based on morphology in having inoperculate and unitunicate asci. With the development of DNA based phylogenetic analysis, several undetermined or polyphyletic members of Sordariomycetes were reclassified. However, not all species belonging to this class have been sequenced and analyzed. There are a number of species, especially those old and poorly studied ones which have never been sequenced before and not even recollected again for further taxonomic verification. One of the main objective in this study is to revise and update the taxonomy of several well-known early and poorly studied spe-cies whose classification are still obscure.Herein,we re-examined the type materials and/or authentic specimens together to explore 74 relatively poorly-studied genera, which mainly belong to Boliniales,Calosphaeriales,Chaetosphaeriales,Jobellisiales, and Sordariales classified under Diaporthomycetidae and Sordariomycetidae. We provide descriptions, notes, figures and/or drawings and discussed their phylogenetic relationships. As a result, the monotypic Jobellisiales is transferred from Hypocreomycetidae to Diaporthomycetidae.Based on phylogenetic analysis, the polyphyletic Lasiosphaeriaceae is divided into five families,Bombardiaceae(Apodospora,Bombardia,Bombardioidea,Fimetariella and Ramophialophora),Lasiosphaeriaceae(Anopodium,Bellojisia,Corylomyces,Lasiosphaeria,Mammaria and Zopfiella),Lasiosphaeridaceae(Lasiosphaeris),Strattoniaceae(Strattonia)and Zygospermellaceae(Episternus and Zygospermella). In addition,a new family Neoschizotheciaceae is established based on Neoschizothecium.Analysis of the type species of Boothiella,Stel-latospora,Sulcatistroma and Tengiomyces placed them in Sordariaceae,Chaetomiaceae,Hypocreales and Coronophorales, respectively. We classify the genera lacking molecular data based on their morphology and expect them to be recollected;that is,Kacosphaeria in Calosphaeriales;Arnium,Biconiosporella,Camptosphaeria,Diffractella,Emblemospora,Eosphaeria,Periamphispora,Synaptospora and Tripterosporella in Sordariales;Conidiotheca in Sordariomycetes;Copromyces,Effetia,Endophragmiella and Tulipispora are accommodated in Ascomycota.Besides,we establish a new genus Neoschizothecium based on phylogenetic analysis.New combinations proposed:Camaropella amorpha,Cam.microspora,Cam.plana,Clad-orrhinum grandiusculum,Cla.leucotrichum,Cla.terricola,Cla.olerum,Helminthosphaeria plumbea,Immersiella hirta,Jugulospora minor,Lasiosphaeris arenicola,Neoschizothecium aloides,Neo.carpinicola,Neo.conicum,Neo.curvisporum,Neo.fimbriatum,Neo.glutinans,Neo.inaequale,Neo.minicaudum,Neo.selenosporum,Neo.tetrasporum,Neurospora autosteira,Podospora brunnescens,P.flexuosa,P.jamaicensis,P.hamata,P.macrospora,P.spinosa,Strattonia petrogale and Triangularia microsclerotigena,T.nannopodalis,T.praecox,T.samala,T.tarvisina,T.unicaudata,T.yaeyamensis.New epithets are proposed for Apiorhynchostoma apiosporum and Podospora dacryoidea.Shi-Ke Huang Kevin D.Hyde Ausana Mapook Sajeewa S.N.Maharachchikumbura Jayarama D.Bhat Eric H.C.McKenzie Rajesh Jeewon Ting-Chi Wen 2021Fungal Diversity2021,,6:1
