| 2 | A complete sequence and comparative analysis of a SARS-associated virus(Isolate BJ01)显示文摘The genome sequence of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)-associated virus provides essential information for the identification of pathogen(s), exploration of etiology and evolution, interpretation of transmission and pathogenesis, development of diagnostics, prevention by future vaccination, and treatment by developing new drugs. We report the complete genome sequence and comparative analysis of an isolate (BJ01) of the coronavirus that has been recognized as a pathogen for SARS. The genome is 29725 nt in size and has 11 ORFs (Open Reading Frames). It is composed of a stable region encoding an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (composed of 2 ORFs) and a variable region representing 4 CDSs (coding sequences) for viral structural genes (the S, E, M, N proteins) and 5 PUPs (putative uncharacterized proteins). Its gene order is identical to that of other known coronaviruses. The sequence alignment with all known RNA viruses places this virus as a member in the family of Coronaviridae. Thirty putative substitutions have been identified by comparative analysis of the 5 SARS- associated virus genome sequences in GenBank. Fifteen of them lead to possible amino acid changes (non-synonymous mutations) in the proteins. Three amino acid changes, with predicted alteration of physical and chemical features, have been detected in the S protein that is postulated to beinvolved in the immunoreactions between the virus and its host. Two amino acid changes have been detected in the Mprotein, which could be related to viral envelope formation. Phylogenetic analysis suggests the possibility of non-human origin of the SARS-associated viruses but provides noevidence that they are man-made. | 3 | Effect of chemical composition of PM_(2.5) on visibility in Guangzhou,China,2007 spring显示文摘The object of this study was to investigate the correlation of visibility with chemical composition of PM2.5 in Guangzhou. In April 2007, 28 PM2.5 samples were collected daily at the monitoring station of the South China Institute of Environmental Sciences (SCIES), in urban Guangzhou. Water-soluble ionic species (Cl-, NO3-, SO42-, NH4+, K+, Na+, Ca2+, and Mg2+) and carbonaceous contents (OC and EC) of the PM2.5 samples were determined to characterize their impact on visibility impairment. The results showed that sulfate was the dominant species that affected both light scattering and visibility. The average percentage contributions of the visibility-degrading species to light scattering coefficient were 40% for sulfate, 16% for nitrate, 22% for organics, and 22% for elemental carbon. | 4 | 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. | 5 | Chinese expert consensus on cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy for peritoneal malignancies显示文摘Locoregional spread of abdominopelvic malignant tumors frequently results in peritoneal carcinomatosis(PC). The prognosis of PC patients treated by conventional systemic chemotherapy is poor, with a median survival of < 6 mo. However, over the past three decades, an integrated treatment strategy of cytoreductive surgery(CRS) + hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC) has been developed by the pioneering oncologists, with proved efficacy and safety in selected patients. Supported by several lines of clinical evidence from phases Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ clinical trials, CRS + HIPEC has been regarded as the standard treatment for selected patients with PC in many established cancer centers worldwide. In China, an expert consensus on CRS + HIPEC has been reached by the leading surgical and medical oncologists, under the framework of the China Anti-Cancer Association. | 8 | Mineralogical and geochemical features of sulfide chimneys from the 49°39′E hydrothermal field on the Southwest Indian Ridge and their geological inferences显示文摘During January–May in 2007,the Chinese research cruise DY115-19 discovered an active hydrothermal field at 49°39′E/37°47′S on the ultraslow spreading Southwest Indian Ridge (SWIR).This was also the first active hydrothermal field found along an ultraslow-spreading ridge.We analyzed mineralogical,textural and geochemical compositions of the sulfide chimneys obtained from the 49°39′E field.Chimney samples show a concentric mineral zone around the fluid channel.The mineral assemblages of the interiors consist mainly of chalcopyrite,with pyrite and sphalerite as minor constitunets.In the intermediate portion,pyrite becomes the dominant mineral,with chalcopyrite and sphalerite as minor constitunets.For the outer wall,the majority of minerals are pyrite and sphalerite,with few chalcopyrite.Towards the outer margin of the chimney wall,the mineral grains become small and irregular in shape gradually,while minerals within interstices are abundant.These features are similar to those chimney edifices found on the East Pacific Rise and Mid-Atlantic Ridge.The average contents of Cu,Fe and Zn in our chimney samples were 2.83 wt%,45.6 wt% and 3.28 wt%,respectively.The average Au and Ag contents were up to 2.0 ppm and 70.2 ppm respectively,higher than the massive sulfides from most hydrothermal fields along mid-ocean ridge.The rare earth elements geochemistry of the sulfide chimneys show a pattern distinctive from the sulfides recovered from typical hydrothermal fields along sedimentstarved mid-ocean ridge,with the enrichment of light rare earth elements but the weak,mostly negative,Eu anomaly.This is attributed to the distinct mineralization environment or fluid compositions in this area. | TAO ChunHui LI HuaiMing HUANG Wei HAN XiQiu WU GuangHai SU Xin ZHOU Ning LIN Jian HE YongHua ZHOU JianPing | 2011 | Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,26: | 34 |

| 11 | High-Temperature Oxidation Behavior of Vanadium,Titanium-Bearing Magnetite Pellet显示文摘By means of isothermal oxidation and chemical analysis,great importance was attached to the parameters that made effects on the oxidation degree of vanadium,titanium-bearing magnetite pellet in high-temperature processing(1073-1323 K).Based on the experimental data,oxidation kinetics of pellet was analyzed according to shrinking unreacted-core model subsequently.Experiment results display that the oxidation degree of pellet increases with increasing of oxidation time,oxidation temperature and oxygen content,as well as shrinking of pellet diameter.Under the condition of oxidation time 20 min,oxidation temperature 1223 K,oxygen content 15%,and pellet diameter 12 mm,oxidation degree of pellet reaches 92.92%.The analysis of oxidation kinetics indicates that oxidation process of pellet is controlled by chemical reaction with activation energy 68.64 kJ/mol at a relatively lower temperature(1073-1173 K).Oxidation process of pellet is mixed-controlled by chemistry reaction and diffusion with activation energy 39.66 kJ/mol in the temperature range of 1173-1273 K.When oxidation temperature is higher than 1273 K,the limited link of oxidation reaction is the diffusion control with the activation energy 20.85 kJ/mol.These results can serve as a reference to the production of vanadium,titanium-bearing magnetite pellet. | HAN Gui-hong JIANG Tao ZHANG Yuan-bo HUANG Yan-fang LI Guang-hui | 2011 | Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2011,18,8: | 23 |

| 13 | Genome Engineering in Rice Using Cas9 Variants that Recognize NG PAM Sequences显示文摘CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing relies on sgRNA-target DNA base pairing and a short downstream PAM sequence to recognize target DNA. The strict protospacer adjacent motif (PAM) requirement hinders applications of the CRISPR/Cas9 system since it restricts the targetable sites in the genomes. xCas9 and SpCas9-NG are two recently engineered SpCas9 variants that can recognize more relaxed NG PAMs, implying a great potential in addressing the issue of PAM constraint. Here we use stable transgenic lines to evaluate the efficacies of xCas9 and SpCas9-NG in performing gene editing and base editing in rice. We found that xCas9 can efficiently induce mutations at target sites with NG and GAT PAM sequences in rice. However, base editors containing xCas9 failed to edit most of the tested target sites. SpCas9-NG exhibited a robust editing activity at sites with various NG PAMs without showing any preference for the third nucleotide after NG. Moreover, we showed that xCas9 and SpCas9-NG have higher specificity than SpCas9 at the CGG PAM site. | 16 | Serum thymosin β4 levels in patients with hepatitis B virus-related liver failure显示文摘AIM:To investigate whether serum thymosinβ4 can provide diagnostic or prognostic information in liver failure patients caused by chronic hepatitis B virus(HBV) infection. METHODS:Serum thymosinβ4 levels were measured in 30 patients with acute-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF), 31 patients with chronic liver failure(CLF),30 patients with compensated liver cirrhosis(CR)and 32 patients with chronic hepatitis B and 30 healthy controls.Serum thymosinβ4 levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and Child-Pugh and model for end-stage liver disease(MELD)scores were calculated for each patient on admission.RESULTS:Compared with healthy controls,serum thymosinβ4 levels in ACLF,CLF,CR and chronic hepatitis B patients were significantly lower,6.5047 (4.7879-10.5314)μg/mL vs 0.4632(0.2759-0.8768) μg/mL,0.6981(0.5209-1.2008)μg/mL,1.8053 (0.8110-2.3397)μg/mL,3.7803(1.8570-6.4722)μg/mL, respectively(P<0.001).The levels of thymosinβ4 in liver failure(ACLF or CLF)patients were markedly lower than that in CR(P<0.001),and a difference was also found between CLF and ACLF patients(P=0.038).In patients with chronic liver disease,there was a positive relationship between thymosinβ4 levels and albumin, choline esterase,and platelet(P<0.001),and negative relationship with alanine aminotransferase(P=0.020), aspartate aminotransferase,total bilirubin,international normalized ratio of prothrombin time,and Child-Pugh and MELD scores(P<0.001).Of the 61 liver failure patients,the thymosinβ4 levels of non-survivors were significantly lower than that of survivors(P=0.007). Receiver operating characteristics analysis identified a thymosinβ4 cutoff level of 0.5708μg/mL for predicting poor prognosis in all liver failure patients.The serial thymosinβ4 values were observed in 13 liver failure inpatients.Lower initial values were observed in the death.While greater improvement in thymosinβ4 value was found in those who recovered from the disease. In this paper, some historical mobile-robotic machining systems are reviewed firstly, followed by some key techniques related to structure optimization, dynamics of the machining process, localization, and control techniques, which are fundamental for the structural stiffness and motion accuracy of mobile-robots.
