| 1 | A Principal Component Analysis(PCA)-based framework for automated variable selection in geodemographic classification显示文摘A geodemographic classification aims to describe the most salient characteristics of a small area zonal geography.However,such representations are influenced by the methodological choices made during their construction.Of particular debate are the choice and specification of input variables,with the objective of identifying inputs that add value but also aim for model parsimony.Within this context,our paper introduces a principal component analysis(PCA)-based automated variable selection methodology that has the objective of identifying candidate inputs to a geodemographic classification from a collection of variables.The proposed methodology is exemplified in the context of variables from the UK 2011 Census,and its output compared to the Office for National Statistics 2011 Output Area Classification(2011 OAC).Through the implementation of the proposed methodology,the quality of the cluster assignment was improved relative to 2011 OAC,manifested by a lower total withincluster sum of square score.Across the UK,more than 70.2%of the Output Areas(OAs)occupied by the newly created classification(i.e.AVS-OAC)outperform the 2011 OAC,with particularly strong performance within Scotland and Wales. | Yunzhe Liu Alex Singleton Daniel Arribas-Bel | 2019 | Geo-Spatial Information Science2019,22,4: | 4 |
| 2 | PM_(2.5)and water-soluble inorganic ion concentrations decreased faster in urban than rural areas in China显示文摘We investigated variations of PM_(2.5)and water-soluble inorganic ions chemical characteristics at nine urban and rural sites in China using ground-based observations.From 2015 to 2019,mean PM_(2.5)concentration across all sites decreased by 41.9μg/m~3with a decline of 46%at urban sites and 28%at rural sites,where secondary inorganic aerosol(SIAs)contributed to 21%(urban sites)and 17%(rural sites)of the decreased PM_(2.5).SIAs concentrations underwent a decline at urban locations,while sulfate(SO_(4)^(2–)),nitrate(NO_(3)^(–)),and ammonium(NH_(4)^(+))decreased by 49.5%,31.3%and 31.6%,respectively.However,only SO_(4)^(2–)decreased at rural sites,NO_(3)^(–)increased by 21%and NH_(4)^(+)decreased slightly.Those changes contributed to an overall SIAs increase in 2019.Higher molar ratios of NO_(3)^(–)to SO_(4)^(2–)and NH_(4)^(+)to SO_(4)^(2–)were observed at urban sites than rural sites,being highest in the heavily polluted days.Mean molar ratios of NH_(3)/NH_xwere higher in 2019 than 2015 at both urban and rural sites,implying increasing NH_xremained as free NH_(3).Our observations indicated a slower transition from sulfate-driven to nitrate-driven aerosol pollution and less efficient control of NO_(x)than SO_(2)related aerosol formation in rural regions than urban regions.Moreover,the common factor at urban and rural sites appears to be a combination of lower SO_(4)^(2–)levels and an increasing fraction of NO_(3)^(–)to PM_(2.5)under NH_(4)^(+)-rich conditions.Our findings imply that synchronous reduction in NO_(x)and NH_(3)emissions especially rural areas would be effective to mitigate NO_(3)^(–)-driven aerosol pollution. | Yangyang Zhang Aohan Tang Chen Wang Xin Ma Yunzhe Li Wen Xu Xiaoping Xia Aihua Zheng Wenqing Li Zengguo Fang Xiufen Zhao Xianlong Peng Yuping Zhang Jian Han Lijuan Zhang Jeffrey L.Collett Jr Xuejun Liu | 2022 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,12: | 2 |
| 3 | A“T.E.S.T.”hydrogel bioadhesive assisted by corneal cross-linking for in situ sutureless corneal repair显示文摘Corneal transplantation is an effective clinical treatment for corneal diseases,which,however,is limited by donor corneas.It is of great clinical value to develop bioadhesive corneal patches with functions of“Transparency”and“Epithelium&Stroma generation”,as well as“Suturelessness”and“Toughness”.To simultaneously meet the“T.E.S.T.”requirements,a light-curable hydrogel is designed based on methacryloylated gelatin(GelMA),Pluronic F127 diacrylate(F127DA)&Aldehyded Pluronic F127(AF127)co-assembled bi-functional micelles and collagen type I(COL I),combined with clinically applied corneal cross-linking(CXL)technology for repairing damaged cornea.The patch formed after 5 min of ultraviolet irradiation possesses transparent,highly tough,and strongly bio-adhesive performance.Multiple cross-linking makes the patch withstand deformation near 600%and exhibit a burst pressure larger than 400 mmHg,significantly higher than normal intraocular pressure(10-21 mmHg).Besides,the slower degradation than GelMA-F127DA&AF127 hydrogel without COL I makes hydrogel patch stable on stromal beds in vivo,supporting the regrowth of corneal epithelium and stroma.The hydrogel patch can replace deep corneal stromal defects and well bio-integrate into the corneal tissue in rabbit models within 4 weeks,showing great potential in surgeries for keratoconus and other corneal diseases by combining with CXL. | Meiyan Li Ruoyan Wei Chang Liu Haowei Fang Weiming Yang Yunzhe Wang Yiyong Xian Kunxi Zhang Yong He Xingtao Zhou | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,7: | 1 |

new sensitivity estimates for the measurement of the △m_(31)^(2),△m_(21)^(2),sin^(2)θ_(12),and sin^(2)θ_(13) oscillation parameters using reactor antineutrinos,which is one of the primary physics goals of the experiment.The sensitivities are obtained using the best knowledge available to date on the location and overburden of the experimental site,the nuclear reactors in the surrounding area and beyond,the detector response uncertainties,and the reactor antineutrino spectral shape constraints expected from the TAO satellite detector.It is found that the △m_(21)^(2) and sin^(2)θ_(12) oscillation parameters will be determined to 0.5%precision or better in six years of data collection.In the same period,the △m_(31)^(2) parameter will be determined to about 0.2%precision for each | 18 | Integrated Transcriptome and Small RNA Sequencing Analyses Reveals Insights into the Molecular Mechanism of Seed Germination in Mung Bean显示文摘During the life cycle of a plant,seed germination is crucial.Upon ingestion of water,the dry seeds resumed energy metabolism and cellular repair.To dissect the complex mechanisms at the very beginning of seed germination,two approaches including transcriptome and small RNA sequencing were conducted during the water imbibition process of mung bean seeds compared with dry seed.The transcriptome sequencing analysis identified 10,108 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)between dry and imbibed mung bean seeds.KEGG enrichment analyses demonstrated numerous DEGs involved in hormone signaling pathways,carbohydrate,and energy metabolism.Out of the total DEGs,129 genes were investigated to involve in abscisic acid,gibberellin,and ethylene pathways,with 56 genes involved in glycolysis and TCA cycle.Through the analysis of small RNA sequencing among different samples,there were 284 miRNAs found in the imbibed and dried seeds of mung bean containing 213 known and 71 novel miRNAs.From comparison between the two types of seeds,51 miRNAs were differentially expressed.The integrated analyses of transcriptome and miRNAome data showed that 23 DEGs are the putative target genes of 8 miRNAs including miR156,miR171b-3p,miR166e-3p,miR169-1,etc.QRT-PCR was used to validate several DEGs and miRNAs.The data suggested that the seed imbibition process is regulated by a variety of DEGs and microRNAs.Meanwhile,we hope to gain a deeper insight into how mung bean seeds germinate in order to optimize seed growth. | Yanyan Pu Liwen Wang Leilei Li Yujun Si Shubin Xie Yunzhe Cong Dong Wang Yongchao Gong Rumei Tian Xue Chen Xiaoyan Zhang Min Liu Hanfeng Ding Nana Li | 2023 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2023,92,6: | 0 |
