2Optimized coagulation pretreatment alleviates ultrafiltration membrane fouling: The role of floc properties and slow-mixing speed on mechanisms of chitosan-assisted coagulation显示文摘To alleviate ultrafiltration(UF) membrane fouling, the pre-coagulation of poly-aluminum chloride(PACl) with the aid of chitosan(CTS) was conducted for synthetic humic acid–kaolin water treatment. Pre-coagulation of three molecular weights(MW) CTSs(50–190 kDa(CTSL), 190–310 kDa(CTSM) and 310–375 kDa(CTSH)) was optimized with slow-mixing speeds of 30, 60 and 90 r/min, respectively. The removal efficiency and floc properties as well as membrane fouling were analyzed, and were compared to results obtained by conventional coagulation with PACl. Results showed that variations in floc properties could be ascribed to the coagulation mechanisms of CTS_L/CTS_M/CTS_H at different slow-mixing speeds, resulting in reduced UF membrane fouling. Specifically, at the low speed of 30 r/min, all three CTS types produced flocs with similar properties, while CTSLresulted in the lowest removal efficiency and aggravated irreversible fouling. At the appropriate speed of 60 r/min, CTSMgenerated the most compact flocs with the combined effects of bridging and path mechanisms. The compact cake layer formed could alleviate irreversible fouling,which was beneficial for prolonging the operation of the UF membrane. At the high speed of90 r/min, CTSHformed fragile flocs and aggravated irreversible membrane fouling. 5Enhancer and super-enhancer: Positive regulators in gene transcription显示文摘Enhancer is a positive regulator for spatiotemporal development in eukaryotes. As a cluster, super-enhancer is closely related to cell identity- and fate-determined processes. Both of them function tightly depending on their targeted transcription factors, cofactors, and genes through distal genomic interactions. They have been recognized as critical components and played positive roles in transcriptional regulatory network or factory. Recent advances of next-generation sequencing have dramatically expanded our ability and knowledge to interrogate the molecular mechanism of enhancer and super-enhancer for transcription. 6First-principles calculations and experimental studies of Sn-Zn alloys as negative electrode materials for lithium-ion batteries显示文摘The physical characters and electrochemical properties of various phases in a Sn-Zn electrode,such as formation energy,plateau potential,specific capacity,as well as volume expansion,were calculated by the first-principles plane-wave pseudo-potential method based on the density functional theory.Sn-Zn films were also deposited on copper foils by an electroless plating technique.The actual composition and chemical characters were explored by scanning electron microscopy (SEM),X-ray diffraction (XRD),plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP),and constant current charge/discharge measurements (CC).The results show that separation phases with tin and zinc including a small quantity of Cu6Sn5 phase were obtained,the initial lithium insertion capacity of the Sn-Zn film was 661 mAh/g,and obvious potential plateaus of about 0.4 V and 0.7 V were displayed,which is in accordance with the results of theoretical calculations.The capacity of the Sn-Zn film decreased seriously with the increase of cycle number.RU Qiang PENG Wei ZHANG Zhiwen HU Shejun LI Yanling 2011Rare Metals2011,30,2:3

12Antibody-engineered red blood cell interface for high-performance capture and release of circulating tumor cells显示文摘Circulating tumor cells(CTCs),as important liquid biopsy target,can provide valuable information for cancer progress monitoring and individualized treatment.However,current isolation platforms incapable of balancing capture efficiency,specificity,cell viability,and gentle release have restricted the clinical applications of CTCs.Herein,inspired by the structure and functional merits of natural membrane interfaces,we established an antibody-engineered red blood cell(RBC-Ab)affinity interface on microfluidic chip for high-performance isolation and release of CTCs.The lateral fluidity,pliability,and anti-adhesion property of the RBC microfluidic interface enabled efficient CTCs capture(96.5%),high CTCs viability(96.1%),and high CTCs purity(average 4.2-log depletion of leukocytes).More importantly,selective lysis of RBCs by simply changing the salt concentration was utilized to destroy the affinity interface for efficient and gentle release of CTCs without nucleic acid contamination.Using this chip,CTCs were successfully detected in colon cancer samples with 90%sensitivity and 100%specificity(20 patients and 10 healthy individuals).After the release process,KRAS gene mutations of CTCs were identified from all the 5 cancer samples,which was consistent with the results of tissue biopsy.We expect this RBC interface strategy will inspire further biomimetic interface construction for rare cell analysis.Haicong Shen Rui Su Jiao Peng Lin Zhu Kunyue Deng Qi Niu Yanling Song Liu Yang Lingling Wu Zhi Zhu Chaoyong Yang 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,5:1

19Activity enhancement of acetate precursor prepared on MnO_(x)-CeO_(2) catalyst for low-temperature NH_(3)-SCR: Effect of gaseous acetone addition显示文摘MnO_(x)-CeO_(2) catalysts are developed by hydrolysis driving redox method using acetate precursor(3 Mn1 Ce-Ac) and nitrate precursor(3 Mn1 Ce-N) for the selective catalytic reduction(SCR) of NO_(x) by NH_(3).A counterpart sample(Cop-3 Mn1 Ce) was prepared by the NH_(3)·H_(2) O co-precipitation method for comparison purpose.Combining the results of physicochemical properties characterization and performance test,we find that the 3 Mn1 Ce-Ac catalyst with some nanorod structures is highly active for the deNOx process.The SCR activity of the 3 Mn1 Ce-Ac catalyst is more admirable than the 3 Mn1 Ce-N and the Cop-3 Mn1 Ce catalysts due to plentiful Lewis acid sites,excellent low-temperature reducibility,and superior surface area resulted from O_(2) generation during the pre paration procedure.The 3 Mn1 Ce-Ac still exhibits the greatest performance for the deNO_(x )process when gaseous acetone is in the SCR feed gas.The NOx conversion and N2 selectivity over the 3 Mn1 Ce-Ac are both improved by gaseous acetone above150℃ due to the inhibition of SCR undesired side reactions(NSCR & C-O reactions) and 'slow-SCR' process.Lyumeng Ye Peng Lu Dingsheng Chen Dongyao Chen Haiwen Wu Wenjing Dai Yanling Gan Jiayong Xiao Zongwei Xie Zengwang Li Haibao Huang 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,8:0
20Alkylation of benzene with carbon dioxide to low-carbon aromatic hydrocarbons over bifunctional Zn-Ti/HZSM-5 catalyst显示文摘Alkylation of benzene to value-added,high octane number and low toxic toluene and xylenes provides a way to lower benzene content in gasoline pool,and is hence a method to promote fuel quality.On the other hand,CO_(2) accumulation in the atmosphere causes global warming and requires effective route for its valorization.Utilization of CO_(2) as a carbon source for benzene alkylation could achieve both goals.Herein,alkylation of benzene with CO_(2) and H2 was realized by a series of low-cost bifunctional catalysts containing zinc/titanium oxides(Zn/Ti oxides)and HZSM-5 molecular sieves in a fixed-bed reactor.By regulating and controlling oxygen vacancies of Zn/Ti oxides and the acidities of HZSM-5,benzene conversion and CO_(2) conversion reached 28.7%and 29.9%respectively,along with a total selectivity of toluene and xylene higher than 90%.In this process,more than 25%CO_(2) was effectively utilized and incorporated into the target products.Moreover,the mechanism of the reaction was analyzed and the course was simultaneously traced.CO_(2) was transformed into methanol firstly,and then methanol reacted with benzene generating toluene and xylene.The innovation provides a new method for upgrading of fuels and upcycling the emissions of CO_(2),which is of great environmental and economic benefits.Xiangyu Liu Yanling Pan Peng Zhang Yilin Wang Guohao Xu Zhaojie Su Xuedong Zhu Fan Yang 2022Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2022,16,3:0
