2Effects of moisture damage on asphalt mixtures显示文摘The reduction in the ability of bitumen to bond with the aggregate surface due to the infiltration of moisture has been recognised for years, and this deterioration phenomenon is called moisture damage. In general, the loss of bonding between bitumen and aggregate shortens the service life of the top layer of the pavement. Many investigations have been conducted to understand the mechanisms of moisture damage due to the loss of bonding strength between bitumen and aggregate and to find ways to improve and strengthen the bond to mitigate the effect of moisture. This paper reviews the extensive literature on the loss of bitumen-aggregate bonding strength due to moisture damage in asphalt mixtures.The general description of the theories and mechanisms that explain the effect of the thermodynamic, chemical, physical and mechanical characteristics of the bitumen and aggregate on the bonding phenomenon are discussed in this paper. In addition, the causes of and contributing factors to moisture damage and methods to improve the bond between bitumen and aggregates are also discussed. Moreover, a description of the test methods that can be used to evaluate moisture damage in poorly bonded and compacted mixtures are also presented. Special attention is given to a well-known method, known as the pulloff test, which has been successfully used to evaluate aggregate-binder bond strength, both for laboratory and in-situ tests. This includes the test methods, the factors that affect the bonding strength results and their correlation with other test method. 3Applications of synchrophasor technologies in power systems显示文摘Synchrophasors are time-synchronized electrical measurements that represent both the magnitude and phase angle of the electrical sinusoids. Synchrophasors are measured by fast time-stamped devices called phasor measurement units(PMUs) to constitute the basis of realtime monitoring and control actions in the electric grid.Due to its enhanced situational awareness capabilities,many applications of PMUs are presented in the literature in the past decades. This paper presents a comprehensive summary of synchrophasor technology, its architecture,optimal placement techniques and its applications in electric power transmission and distribution systems. These applications include wide-area situational awareness and monitoring, state estimation, fault location and protective relaying, islanding detection etc. This review also covers some of the existing challenges in its implementation and its potential applications.Muhammad Usama USMAN M. 4Week Ahead Electricity Power and Price Forecasting Using Improved DenseNet-121 Method显示文摘In the Smart Grid(SG)residential environment,consumers change their power consumption routine according to the price and incentives announced by the utility,which causes the prices to deviate from the initial pattern.Thereby,electricity demand and price forecasting play a significant role and can help in terms of reliability and sustainability.Due to the massive amount of data,big data analytics for forecasting becomes a hot topic in the SG domain.In this paper,the changing and non-linearity of consumer consumption pattern complex data is taken as input.To minimize the computational cost and complexity of the data,the average of the feature engineering approaches includes:Recursive Feature Eliminator(RFE),Extreme Gradient Boosting(XGboost),Random Forest(RF),and are upgraded to extract the most relevant and significant features.To this end,we have proposed the DensetNet-121 network and Support Vector Machine(SVM)ensemble with Aquila Optimizer(AO)to ensure adaptability and handle the complexity of data in the classification.Further,the AO method helps to tune the parameters of DensNet(121 layers)and SVM,which achieves less training loss,computational time,minimized overfitting problems and more training/test accuracy.Performance evaluation metrics and statistical analysis validate the proposed model results are better than the benchmark schemes.Our proposed method has achieved a minimal value of the Mean Average Percentage Error(MAPE)rate i.e.,8%by DenseNet-AO and 6%by SVM-AO and the maximum accurateness rate of 92%and 95%,respectively.Muhammad Irfan Ali Raza Faisal Althobiani Nasir Ayub Muhammad Idrees Zain Ali Kashif Rizwan Abdullah Saeed Alwadie Saleh Mohammed Ghonaim Hesham Abdushkour Saifur Rahman Omar Alshorman Samar Alqhtani 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,9:2

16Weapons Detection for Security and Video Surveillance Using CNN and YOLO-V5s显示文摘In recent years,the number of Gun-related incidents has crossed over 250,000 per year and over 85%of the existing 1 billion firearms are in civilian hands,manual monitoring has not proven effective in detecting firearms.which is why an automated weapon detection system is needed.Various automated convolutional neural networks(CNN)weapon detection systems have been proposed in the past to generate good results.However,These techniques have high computation overhead and are slow to provide real-time detection which is essential for the weapon detection system.These models have a high rate of false negatives because they often fail to detect the guns due to the low quality and visibility issues of surveillance videos.This research work aims to minimize the rate of false negatives and false positives in weapon detection while keeping the speed of detection as a key parameter.The proposed framework is based on You Only Look Once(YOLO)and Area of Interest(AOI).Initially,themodels take pre-processed frames where the background is removed by the use of the Gaussian blur algorithm.The proposed architecture will be assessed through various performance parameters such as False Negative,False Positive,precision,recall rate,and F1 score.The results of this research work make it clear that due to YOLO-v5s high recall rate and speed of detection are achieved.Speed reached 0.010 s per frame compared to the 0.17 s of the Faster R-CNN.It is promising to be used in the field of security and weapon detection.Abdul Hanan Ashraf Muhammad Imran Abdulrahman M.Qahtani Abdulmajeed Alsufyani Omar Almutiry Awais Mahmood Muhammad Attique Mohamed Habib 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,2:1

18Chylous ascites after pancreatico-duodenectomy显示文摘BACKGROUND:Chylous ascites(CA) following pancreatico-duodenectomy(PD) is a rare complication secondary to disruption of the lymphatics during extended retroperitoneal lymph node dissection. The majority of cases do not develop CA,possibly due to patency of the proximal thoracic duct and good collaterals. CA may be due to a consequence of occult obstruction of the proximal thoracic duct by malignant infiltration or tumor embolus. This study was to report the incidence of CA and its outcomes of management. METHODS:A retrospective search of our liver database was performed using the 'pancreatico-duodenectomy','chylous ascites' from January 2000 to December 2005. The medical records of CA patients and their management and outcome were reviewed. RESULTS:In 138 patients who had undergone PD in our centre for pancreatic malignancy,3 were identified with CA and managed by abdominal paracentesis. CA resolved in 2 patients with low fat medium chain triglyceride diet alone and 1 patient had total parenteral nutrition(TPN) for persistent CA. Resolution of CA occurred in these 3 patients at a median follow-up of 4 weeks(range 4-12 weeks). Histologically,resected specimen confirmed pancreatic adenocarcinoma in all the patients. Two patients developed loco-regional recurrences at a median follow up of 8 months(range 6-10 months). And the other was currently disease free at a 10-month follow up. CONCLUSIONS:CA as an uncommon postoperative complication requires frequent paracentesis,prolonged hospital stay,and delayed adjuvant chemotherapy. 20Influence of Y^(3+),Yb^(3+),Gd^(3+) cations on structural and electromagnetic properties of CuFe_(2)O_(4) nanoferrites prepared via one step sol-gel method显示文摘Rare earths(REs) play a key role in distorting spinel structure by creating some defects at the lattice sites and make them suitable for magnetodielectric applications.In the present study,the nanoferrites of CuRE0.02Fe1.98O4,where REs=Y^(3+),Yb^(3+),Gd^(3+),were prepared using one step sol-gel method.The prepared samples are copper ferrite(CFO),yttrium doped copper ferrite(Y-CFO),ytterbium doped copper ferrite(Yb-CFO) and gadolinium doped copper ferrite(Gd-CFO),respectively.The single-phase structure of all the REs doped nanoferrites was determined by X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis.The porosity,agglomerations and grain size of the REs doped copper ferrite were examined using field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM) analysis.Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)elaborates the phase formation and environmental effects on the REs doped nanoparticles(NPs).The recorded room temperature M-H loops from a vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM) elucidate the magnetic properties of the REs doped spinel nanoferrites.The magnetic saturation(Ms) was calculated in the range of 23.08 to 51.78 emu/g.The calculated coercivity values(272.6 to 705.60 Oe) confirm the soft magnetic behavior of REs doped copper ferrites.Furthermore,the electromagnetic and dielectric properties were assessed using a Vector network analyzer(VNA) from 1 to 6 GHz.The permeability,permittivity,dielectric tangent loss and electric modulus of the REs doped spinel ferrites illustrate that the prepared NPs may be suitable for microwave and high frequency applications.Aleena Kiran Majid Niaz Akhtar Muhammad Yousaf Khalid Mujassam Batoo Omar MAldossary Salman Naeem Khan 2021Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,10:1
