1Influence of Atmospheric Particulate Matter on Ozone in Nanjing,China:Observational Study and Mechanistic Analysis显示文摘Particulate matter with diameters of 2.5 μm or smaller(PM_(2.5)) and ozone(O_3) are major pollutants in the urban atmosphere. PM_(2.5) can affect O_3 by altering the photolysis rate and heterogeneous reactions. However, these two processes and their relative importance remain uncertain. In this paper, with Nanjing in China as the target city, we investigate the characteristics and mechanism of interactions between particles and O_3 based on ground observations and numerical modeling.In 2008, the average concentrations of PM_(2.5) and O_3 at Caochangmen station are 64.6 ± 47.4 μg m^(-3) and 24.6 ± 22.8 ppb,respectively, while at Pukou station they are 94.1 ± 63.4 μg m^(-3) and 16.9 ± 14.9 ppb. The correlation coefficient between PM_(2.5) and O_3 is -0.46. In order to understand the reaction between PM_(2.5) and O_3, we construct a box model, in which an aerosol optical property model, ultraviolet radiation model, gas phase chemistry model, and heterogeneous chemistry model,are coupled. The model is employed to investigate the relative contribution of the aforementioned two processes, which vary under different particle concentrations, scattering capability and VOCs/NOxratios(VOCs: volatile organic compounds;NOx: nitric oxide and nitrogen dioxide). Generally, photolysis rate effect can cause a greater O_3 reduction when the particle concentrations are higher, while heterogeneous reactions dominate O_3 reduction with low-level particle concentrations.Moreover, in typical VOC-sensitive regions, O_3 can even be increased by heterogeneous reactions. In Nanjing, both processes lead to O_3 reduction, and photolysis rate effect is dominant. 2Graphene: a promising 2D material for electrochemical energy storage显示文摘Graphene, with unique two-dimensional form and numerous appealing properties, promises to remarkably increase the energy density and power density of electrochemical energy storage devices(EESDs),ranging from the popular lithium ion batteries and supercapacitors to next-generation high-energy batteries. Here, we review the recent advances of the state-of-the-art graphene-based materials for EESDs,including lithium ion batteries, supercapacitors, micro-supercapacitors, high-energy lithium-air and lithium-sulfur batteries, and discuss the importance of the pore, doping, assembly, hybridization and functionalization of different nano-architectures in improving electrochemical performance. The major roles of graphene are highlighted as(1) a superior active material,(2) ultrathin 2D flexible support,and(3) an inactive yet electrically conductive additive. Furthermore, we address the enormous potential of graphene for constructing new-concept emerging graphene-enabled EESDs with multiple functionalities of lightweight, ultra-flexibility, thinness, and novel cell configurations. 52D hierarchical yolk-shell heterostructures as advanced host-interlayer integrated electrode for enhanced Li-S batteries显示文摘Lithium sulfur(Li-S)batteries hold great promising for high-energy-density batteries,but appear rapid capacity fading due to the lack of overall and elaborated design of both sulfur host and interlayer.Herein,we developed a novel two-dimensional(2D)hierarchical yolk-shell heterostructure,constructed by a graphene yolk,2D void and outer shell of vertically aligned carbon-mediated MoS2 nanosheets(G@void@MoS2/C),as advanced host-interlayer integrated electrode for Li-S batteries.Notably,the 2D void,with a typical thickness of^80 nm,provided suitable space for loading and confining nano sulfur,and vertically aligned ultrathin MoS2 nanosheets guaranteed enriched catalytically active sites to effectively promote the transition of soluble polysulfides.The conductive graphene yolk and carbon mediated shell sufficiently accelerated electron transport.Therefore,the integrated electrode of G@void@MoS2/C not only exceptionally confined the sulfur/polysulfides in 2D yolk-shell heterostructures,but also achieved catalytic transition of the residual polysulfides dissolved in electrolyte to solid Li2S2/Li2S,both of which synergistically achieved an extremely low capacity fading rate of 0.05%per cycle over 1000 times at 2C,outperforming most reported Mo based cathodes and interlayers for Li-S batteries.2D hierarchical yolkshell heterostructures developed here may shed new insight on elaborated design of integrated electrodes for Li-S batteries.Yanfeng Dong Pengfei Lu Haodong Shi Jieqiong Qin Jian Chen Wencai Ren Hui-Ming Cheng Zhong-Shuai Wu 2019Journal of Energy Chemistry2019,28,9:4
6Microcavity top-emission perovskite light-emitting diodes显示文摘Light-emitting diodes(LEDs)based on perovskites show great potential in lighting and display applications.However,although perovskite films with high photoluminescence quantum efficiencies are commonly achieved,the efficiencies of perovskite LEDs are largely limited by the low light out-coupling efficiency.Here,we show that high-efficiency perovskite LEDs with a high external quantum efficiency of 20.2% and an ultrahigh radiant exitance up to 114.9mWcm^(−2) can be achieved by employing the microcavity effect to enhance light extraction.The enhanced microcavity effect and light outcoupling efficiency are confirmed by the study of angle-dependent emission profiles.Our results show that both the optical and electrical properties of the device need to be optimized to achieve high-performance perovskite LEDs.Yanfeng Miao Lu Cheng Wei Zou Lianghui Gu Ju Zhang Qiang Guo Qiming Peng Mengmeng Xu Yarong He Shuting Zhang Yu Cao Renzhi Li Nana Wang Wei Huang Jianpu Wang 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:4
7Desertification: China provides a solution to a global challenge显示文摘Desertification has been caused by various factors and is a major environmental problem and development bottleneck faced by the world. It is also a serious threat to ecological security and to sustainable economic and social development. As a stubborn world problem, focused on by the United Nations 2030 sustainable development goal 15.3, China aims to combat desertification by implementing the 'eight-column fourbeam' strategy, and also suggest the 'four-medicine'approach for global desertification governance. 10Bioactive skin-mimicking hydrogel band-aids for diabetic wound healing and infectious skin incision treatment显示文摘The treatment of diabetic chronic wounds remains a global challenge due to the up-regulated inflammation response,oxidant stress,and persistent infection during healing process.Developing wound dressing materials with ideal biocompatibility,adequate mechanical strength,considerable under-water adhesion,sufficient anti-inflammation,antioxidant,and antibacterial properties is on-demand for clinical applications.In this study,we developed a bioactive skin-mimicking hydrogel band-aid through the combination of tannic acid(TA)and imidazolidinyl urea reinforced polyurethane(PMI)(TAP hydrogel)and explored its potentials in various medical applications,including hemostasis,normal skin incision,full-thickness skin wounds,and bacterial-infection skin incision on diabetic mice.TA was loaded into PMI hydrogel network to enhance the mechanical properties of TAP hydrogels through multiple non-covalent interactions(break strength:0.28-0.64 MPa;elongation at break:650-930%),which could resist the local stress and maintain the structural integrity of wound dressings during applications.Moreover,owing to the promising moisture-resistant adhesiveness and organ hemostasis,outstanding anti-inflammation,antibacterial,and antioxidant properties,TAP hydrogels could efficiently promote the recovery of skin incision and defects on diabetic mice.To further simulate the practical situation and explore the potential in clinical application,we also verified the treatment efficiency of TAP hydrogel in S.aureus-infected skin incision model on diabetic mice.Yuxuan Yang Xiaodan Zhao Jing Yu Xingxing Chen Ruyue Wang Mengyuan Zhang Qiang Zhang Yanfeng Zhang Shuang Wang Yilong Cheng 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,11:2

15Infrared LSS-Target Detection Via Adaptive TCAIE-LGM Smoothing and Pixel-Based Background Subtraction显示文摘Infrared small target detection is a significant and challenging topic for daily security. This paper proposes a novel model to detect LSS-target (low altitude, slow speed, and small target) under the complicated background. Firstly, the fundamental constituents of an infrared image including the complexity and entropy are calculated, which are invoked as adaptive control parameters of smoothness. Secondly, the adaptive L0 gradient minimization smoothing based on texture complexity and information entropy (TCAIE-LGM) is proposed in order to remove noises and suppress low-amplitude details in infrared image abstraction. Finally, difference of Gaussian (DoG) map is incorporated into the pixel-based adaptive segmentation (PBAS) background modeling algorithm, which can differ LSS-target from the sophisticated background. 16Thermodynamic processes of lake ice and landfast ice around Zhongshan Station, Antarctica显示文摘Thermodynamic processes of ice in three lakes and landfast ice around Zhongshan Station, Antarctica, were observed in 2006. The mass balance of lake ice was compared with that of landfast ice. The responses of lake ice and sea ice temperatures to the local surface air temperature are explored. Vertical conductive heat fluxes at varying depths of lake ice and sea ice were derived from vertical temperature profiles. The freeze up of lake ice and landfast ice occurred from late February to early March. Maximum lake ice thicknesses occurred from late September to early October, with values of 156-177 cm. The maximum sea ice thicknesses of 167-174 cm occurred relatively later, from late October to late November. Temporal variations of lake ice and landfast ice internal temperatures lagged those of air temperatures. High-frequency variations of air temperature were evidently attenuated by ice cover. The temporal lag and the high-frequency attenuation were greater for sea ice than for lake ice, and more distinct for the deeper ice layer than for the upper ice layer. This induced a smaller conductive heat flux through sea ice than lake ice, at the same depth and under the same atmospheric forcing, and a smoother fluctuation in the conductive heat flux for the deeper ice layer than for the upper ice layer. 17Defects boost graphitization for highly conductive graphene films显示文摘Fabricating highly crystalline macroscopic films with extraordinary electrical and thermal conductivities from graphene sheets is essential for applications in electronics,telecommunications and thermal management.High-temperature graphitization is the only method known to date for the crystallization of all types of carbon materials,where defects are gradually removed with increasing temperature.However,when using graphene materials as precursors,including graphene oxide,reduced graphene oxide and pristine graphene,even lengthy graphitization at 3000℃can only produce graphene films with small grain sizes and abundant structural disorders,which limit their conductivities.Here,we show that high-temperature defects substantially accelerate the grain growth and ordering of graphene films during graphitization,enabling ideal AB stacking as well as a 100-fold,64-fold and 28-fold improvement in grain size,electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity,respectively,between 2000℃and 3000℃.This process is realized by nitrogen doping,which retards the lattice restoration of defective graphene,retaining abundant defects such as vacancies,dislocations and grain boundaries in graphene films at a high temperature.With this approach,a highly ordered crystalline graphene film similar to highly oriented pyrolytic graphite is fabricated,with electrical and thermal conductivities(~2.0×10~4 S cm~(-1);~1.7×10~3 W m~(-1)K~(-1))that are improved by about 6-and 2-fold,respectively,compared to those of the graphene films fabricated by graphene oxide.Such graphene film also exhibits a superhigh electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness of~90 dB at a thickness of 10μm,outperforming all the synthetic materials of comparable thickness including MXene films.This work not only paves the way for the te chnological application of highly conductive graphene films but also provides a general strategy to efficiently improve the synthesis and properties of other carbon materials such as graphene fibers,carbon nanotube fibers,carbon fibers,polymer-derived graphite and highly oriented pyrolytic graphite.Qing Zhang Qinwei Wei Kun Huang Zhibo Liu WeiMa Zehui Zhang Yanfeng Zhang Hui-Ming Cheng Wencai Ren 2023National Science Review2023,10,7:1
