1Terrestrial carbon sinks in China and around the world and their contribution to carbon neutrality显示文摘Enhancing the terrestrial ecosystem carbon sink(referred to as terrestrial C sink) is an important way to slow down the continuous increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide(CO_(2)) concentration and to achieve carbon neutrality target.To better understand the characteristics of terrestrial C sinks and their contribution to carbon neutrality,this review summarizes major progress in terrestrial C budget researches during the past decades,clarifies spatial patterns and drivers of terrestrial C sources and sinks in China and around the world,and examines the role of terrestrial C sinks in achieving carbon neutrality target.According to recent studies,the global terrestrial C sink has been increasing from a source of (-0.2±0.9) Pg C yr^(-1)(1 Pg=1015g)in the 1960s to a sink of (1.9±1.1) Pg C yr^(-1) in the 2010s.By synthesizing the published data,we estimate terrestrial C sink of 0.20–0.25 Pg C yr^(-1) in China during the past decades,and predict it to be 0.15–0.52 Pg C yr^(-1) by 2060.The terrestrial C sinks are mainly located in the mid-and high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere,while tropical regions act as a weak C sink or source.The C balance differs much among ecosystem types:forest is the major C sink;shrubland,wetland and farmland soil act as C sinks;and whether the grassland functions as C sink or source remains unclear.Desert might be a C sink,but the magnitude and the associated mechanisms are still controversial.Elevated atmospheric CO_(2) concentration,nitrogen deposition,climate change,and land cover change are the main drivers of terrestrial C sinks,while other factors such as fires and aerosols would also affect ecosystem C balance.The driving factors of terrestrial C sink differ among regions.Elevated CO_(2) concentration and climate change are major drivers of the C sinks in North America and Europe,while afforestation and ecological restoration are additionally important forcing factors of terrestrial C sinks in China.For future studies,we recommend the necessity for intensive and long-term ecosystem C monitoring over broad geographic scale to improve terrestrial biosphere models for accurately evaluating terrestrial C budget and its dynamics under various climate change and policy scenarios.Yuanhe Yang Yue Shi Wenjuan Sun Jinfeng Chang Jianxiao Zhu Leiyi Chen Xin Wang Yanpei Guo Hongtu Zhang Lingfei Yu Shuqing Zhao Kang Xu Jiangling Zhu Haihua Shen Yuanyuan Wang Yunfeng Peng Xia Zhao Xiangping Wang Huifeng Hu Shiping Chen Mei Huang Xuefa Wen Shaopeng Wang Biao Zhu Shuli Niu Zhiyao Tang Lingli Liu Jingyun Fang 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,5:32

3Fission-track-age records of the Mesozoic tectonic-events in the southwest margin of the Ordos Basin, China显示文摘Based on the analysis of apatite and zircon fission track (FT), the FT age distribution and the peck-ages of the Mesozoic tectonic events in the southwest margin of the Ordos Basin (OB) were discussed. (1) The early event mainly occurred at 213-194 Ma with a peck-age of 205 Ma, and corresponded to the tectonic uplift and the mega-clastic deposit in the southwest OB during the Late Triassic. (2) The middle event included at least two episodes. One was at 165-141 Ma with a peck-age of 150 Ma, and the other was at 115-113 Ma with a peck-age of 114 Ma, corresponding to the over-thrusting and the mega- clastic deposits in the southwest OB during the Late Jurassic to the Early Cretaceous. (3) The late event mainly demonstrated the regional uplifting and included at least two episodes. One was at 100-81 Ma with a peck-age of 90 Ma, and the other was at 66-59 Ma with a peck-age of 63 Ma. 4Relative effects of phylogeny,biological characters and environments on leaf traits in shrub biomes across central Inner Mongolia,China显示文摘Aims Understanding the drivers for leaf traits is critical to improving our predictions on ecosystems'responses to global changes.Geographic patterns of leaf traits are shaped by phylogenetic,biological and environmental factors simultaneously.However,till now few studies have examined how these factors influenced leaf traits together,and how their effects differed at the within-and among-site levels.Methods We sampled leaf traits from a 1100 km shrub-biome transect across central Inner-Mongolia,including leaf mass per area(LMA),mass-based photosynthetic rate,nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)concentrations.We examined the effects of phylogenetic,biological(height and growth rate)and environmental(climate and soil)fac-tors on leaf traits with mixed-model analyses of variance.Variation partitioning method was used to separate the joint and independent effects of these three types of factors.Important Findings(i)Climate and soil fertility(total or available nutrient concentra-tions)together explained 11.4-41.4%of among-site variations,with remarkable difference among traits.(i)Height and height growth rate together explained 0.4--31.9%of trait variations(mostly among-site variations).Our results could only weakly support the ability of leaf traits as predictors for whole-plant growth.(ii)LMA was negatively related to height,which was consistent with the resource-use strategy hypothesis but incon-sistent with the hypotheses proposed for coexisting trees,suggest-ing that the LMA--height relationship is shaped by rather different mechanisms between the within-and among-communities lev-els.(iv)The variation partitioning analysis showed that,the rela-tionships between leaf traits and biological characters largely reflected the differences in both leaf traits and biological char-acters among species that occupying different sites.The relative importance of phylogenetic,biological and environmental fac-tors differed remarkably among leaf traits,between the within-and among-communities levels,and between different biomes.(v)Our results strongly suggest the necessity of examining the three types of factors simultaneously,and at both the within-and among-communities levels,for a better understanding of the drivers for leaf traits patterns.Chao Liu Xiangping Wang Xian Wu Shuang Dai Jin-Sheng He Weilun Yin 2013Journal of Plant Ecology2013,6,3:19
5Facile metagrating holograms with broadband and extreme angle tolerance显示文摘The emerging meta-holograms rely on arrays of intractable meta-atoms with various geometries and sizes for customized phase profiles that can precisely modulate the phase of a wavefront at an optimal incident angle for given wavelengths.The stringent and band-limited angle tolerance remains a fundamental obstacle for their practical application,in addition to high fabrication precision demands.Utilizing a different design principle,we determined that facile metagrating holograms based on extraordinary optical diffraction can allow the molding of arbitrary wavefronts with extreme angle tolerances(near-grazing incidence)in the visible–near-infrared regime.By modulating the displacements between uniformly sized meta-atoms rather than the geometrical parameters,the metagratings produce a robust detour phase profile that is irrespective of the wavelength or incident angle.The demonstration of high-fidelity meta-holograms and in-site polarization multiplexing significantly simplifies the metasurface design and lowers the fabrication demand,thereby opening new routes for flat optics with high performances and improved practicality.Zi-Lan Deng Junhong Deng Xin Zhuang Shuai Wang Tan Shi Guo Ping Wang Yao Wang Jian Xu Yaoyu Cao Xiaolei Wang Xing Cheng Guixin Li Xiangping Li 2018Light(Science & Applications)2018,7,1:17
6A novel ionic liquids-based scrubbing process for efficient CO_(2) capture显示文摘A novel alkanolamine-based ionic liquid,N-methyl-diethanolammonium tetrafluoroborate ([MDEA][BF4]),was synthesized in our laboratory.The ionic liquid-based composite solution consisting of N-methyl-diethanolamine (MDEA),[MDEA][BF4],piperazine (PZ) and H2O was investigated for CO_(2) capture.The optimal performance for CO_(2) capture was found at 45°C,1.50 MPa,probably due to a synergistic action of the reaction and the transport.No apparent corrosion was found on stainless and carbon steel with the above composite solution.This finding is very significant to the promotion of its engineering application.ZHANG SuoJiang ZHANG XiangPing ZHAO YanSong ZHAO GuoYing YAO XiaoQian YAO HongWei 2010Science China Chemistry2010,53,7:16
7Comparative pharmacokinetics of six major compounds in normal and insomnia rats after oral administration of Ziziphi Spinosae Semen aqueous extract显示文摘Ziziphi Spinosae Semen(ZSS),a traditional Chinese medicine,is used in clinics for the treatment of insomnia in China and other Asian countries.Herein,we described for the first time a comparative pharmacokinetics study of the six major compounds of ZSS in normal control(NC)and para-chlorophenylalanine(PCPA)-induced insomnia model(IM)rats that were orally administered the aqueous extract of ZSS.An ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole orbitrap mass(UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap-MS)method was developed and validated for the simultaneous determination of coclaurine,magnoflorine,spinosin,6000-feruloylspinosin,jujuboside A(JuA),and jujuboside B(JuB)in ZSS in rat plasma.The established approach was successfully applied to a comparative pharmacokinetic study.The systemic exposures of spinosin and 6000-feruloylspinosin were decreased in the IM group compared to the NC group,while plasma clearance(CL)was significantly increased.The Tmax values of JuA and JuB in IM rats were significantly lower than those in NC rats.The T1/2 of JuA in the IM group was significantly accelerated.The pharmacokinetic parameters of coclaurine and magnoflorine were not evidently affected between the two groups.These results indicate that the pathological state of insomnia altered the plasma pharmacokinetics of spinosin,6000-feruloylspinosin,JuA,and JuB in the ZSS aqueous extract,providing an experimental basis for the role of ZSS in insomnia treatment.The comparative pharmacokinetics-based UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap-MS using full-scan mode can therefore provide a reliable and suitable means for the screening of potentially effective substances applied as quality markers of ZSS.Chenhui Du Yan Yan Chenxi Shen Xiaofang Cui Xiangping Pei Xuemei Qin 2020Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2020,10,4:14

9Effect of kidney-reinforcing,blood-activating and stasis-removing recipes on adhesion molecule expression of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells from chronic aplastic anemia patients显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To explore the effect of kidney-reinforcing,blood-activating and stasis-removing recipes on adhesion molecule expression of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs) from patients with chronic aplastic anemia(CAA).METHODS:We used threeTraditional Chinese Medicine recipes,namely a kidney-reinforcing recipe(KRR),blood-activating and stasis-removing recipe(BASRR),and kidney-reinforcing,blood-activating and stasis-removing recipe(KRBASRR),and a normal saline control to prepare herbal medicine serum in Sprague Dawley rats.Thirty CAA patients were enrolled in the experimental group,including 17 kidney-Yang deficient patients and 13 kidney-Yin deficient patients.Ten healthy individuals were included in the control group.MSCs were isolated from bone marrow samples,and the cell density was observed to measure their proliferation ability by microscopy on days 2,7,and 14 after isolation.In addition,the expression of adhesion molecules of bone marrow MSCs(CD106,CD49d,CD31 and CD44) were detected by flow cytometry after 48 h of treatment with the four different herbal medicine serums.RESULTS:The proliferation of MSCs from kidney-Yang deficient and kidney-Yin deficient patients was weaker than that of MSCs from the control group.The expression of all adhesion molecules of bone marrow MSCs from CAA patients was obviously lower than that in the control group(P< 0.01).The expression of CD49d and CD31 in MSCs from patients with a kidney-Yin deficiency was lower than in those with a kidney-yang deficiency(P< 0.05 and P<0.01,respectively).For kidney-Yang deficient patients,CD31 expression in the KRBASRR group was significantly higher than that in the BASRR group(P<0.01),while CD44 in the KRBASRR group was significantly higher than that in both KRR and BASRR groups(P<0.01).For kidney-Yin deficient patients,CD106 and CD49d expression in the KRBASRR group was obviously higher than that in the KRR group(P<0.05),while CD31 and CD44 expression in the KRBASRR group was significantly higher than that in both KRR and BASRR groups(P< 0.05 and P<0.01,respectively).CONCLUSION:The bone marrow microenvironment in CAA patients is abnormal.The effect of KRBASRR may be better than that of KRR and BASRR for kidney-Yang deficient and kidney-Yin deficient patients by improving the expression levels of MSC adhesion molecules.Baodong Ye Dan Chen Dijiong Wu Xiangping Wu Xiang Zhang Yuhong Zhou Yiping Shen Keding Shao Qinhong Yu 2012Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2012,32,4:12
10Growth response and toxic effects of three antibiotics on Selenastrum capricornutum evaluated by photosynthetic rate and chlorophyll biosynthesis显示文摘The effects of three types of antibiotics (erythromycin,ciprofloxacin and sulfamethoxazole) on the photosynthesis of freshwater algae,Selenastrum capricornutum Printz,were investigated by determining the growth rate,chloroplast pigments content,seven main precursors (including δ-aminolevulinic acid,porphobilinogen,uroporphyrinogen III,coproporphyrinogen III,protoporphyrin IX,Mg-proporphyrin IX and protochlorophyllide),and photosynthetic rate during chlorophyll biosynthesis.The antibiotics significantly decreased the growth rate,chlorophyll content,and photosynthetic rate.Erythromycin induced a decreasing effect at a concentration of 0.06 mg/L,while ciprofloxacin and sulfamethoxazole achieved the same results at concentrations higher than 1.5 mg/L.Only erythromycin significantly inhibited chlorophyll biosynthesis,which indicated that it was considerably more toxic to S.capricornutum than ciprofloxacin and sulfamethoxazole,and may pose a high potential risk to aquatic ecosystems.Binyang Liu Weiqiu Liu Xiangping Nie Chao Guan Yufeng Yang Zhaohui Wang Wei Liao 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,9:11

12Controlled preparation and characterization of nano-sized hexagonal Mg(OH)_2 flame retardant显示文摘Nano-sized hexagonal magnesium hydroxide(Mg(OH)_2) with good dispersibility was synthesized by a double injection-hydrothermal method,utilizing polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP) as an additive and with optimized processing parameters.SEM and BET analysis showed that the mean particle size and specific surface area of the Mg(OH)_2 particles were 174 nm and 50.77 m^2/g,respectively.The FT-IR spectra and the XRD patterns showed that PVP was adsorbed on the surface of the Mg(OH)_2 crystal,thus effectively limiting particle agglomeration and hindering crystal growth along the(101) plane.TGA showed a decrease in the decomposition temperature and an increase in the weight loss of the Mg(OH)_2 particles due to addition of PVP.Huaxiong Fang Tao Zhou Xiangping Chen Simin Li Guangshan Shen Xiaoyan Liao 2014Particuology2014,12,3:10
13Periodicity and map for discovery of new ionic liquids显示文摘There is virtually no limit in the number of ionic liquids. How to select proper ones or discover new ones with desirable properties in such a large pool of ionic liquids? It has become a bottleneck in the researches and applications of ionic liquids. Mendeleev’s periodic law states that the properties of the elements vary periodically. Whether the similar regularity exists among ionic or mo-lecular fragments of compounds is an interesting topic. In this work, we attempted to establish a pe-riodicity and draw a “map” of ionic liquids for providing definite guidance to discover, design, and se-lect the proper ionic liquids rather than trial-and-error. 14Near-perfect fidelity polarization-encoded multilayer optical data storage based on aligned gold nanorods显示文摘Encoding information in light polarization is of great importance in facilitating optical data storage(ODS)for information security and data storage capacity escalation.However,despite recent advances in nanophotonic techniques vastly en-hancing the feasibility of applying polarization channels,the data fidelity in reconstructed bits has been constrained by severe crosstalks occurring between varied polarization angles during data recording and reading process,which gravely hindered the utilization of this technique in practice.In this paper,we demonstrate an ultra-low crosstalk polarization-en-coding multilayer ODS technique for high-fidelity data recording and retrieving by utilizing a nanofibre-based nanocom-posite film involving highly aligned gold nanorods(GNRs).With parallelizing the gold nanorods in the recording medium,the information carrier configuration minimizes miswriting and misreading possibilities for information input and output,respectively,compared with its randomly self-assembled counterparts.The enhanced data accuracy has significantly im-proved the bit recall fidelity that is quantified by a correlation coefficient higher than 0.99.It is anticipated that the demon-strated technique can facilitate the development of multiplexing ODS for a greener future.Linwei Zhu Yaoyu Cao Qiuqun Chen Xu Ouyang Yi Xu Zhongliang Hu Jianrong Qiu Xiangping Li 2021Opto-Electronic Advances2021,4,11:9
15Contrasting responses of net primary productivity to inter-annual variability and changes of climate among three forest types in northern China显示文摘Aims A lack of explicit information on differential controls on net primary productivity(NPP)across regions and ecosystem types is largely responsible for uncertainties in global trajectories of terrestrial carbon balance with changing environment.The objectives of this study were to determine how NPP of different forest types would respond to inter-annual variability of climate and to examine the responses of NPP to future climate change scenarios across contrasting forest types in northern China.Methods We investigated inter-annual variations of NPP in relation to climate variability across three forest types in northern China,including a boreal forest dominated by Larix gmelinii Rupr.,and two temperate forests dominated by Pinus tabulaeformis Carr.and Quercus wutaishanica Mayr.,respectively,and studied the responses of NPP in these forests to predicted changes in climate for the periods 2011–40,2041–70 and 2070–100 under carbon emission scenarios A2 and B2 of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.We simulated the responses of NPP to predicted changes in future climate as well as inter-annual variability of the present climate with the Biome-BGC version 4.2 based on site-and species-specific parameters.The modeled forest NPP data were validated against values in literature for similar types of forests and compared with inter-annual growth variations reflected by tree-ring width index(RWI)at the study sites.Important Findings Inter-annual variations in modeled NPP during the period 1960–06 were mostly consistent with the temporal patterns in RWI.There were contrasting responses of modeled NPP among the three forest types to inter-annual variability of the present climate as well as to predicted changes in future climate.The modeled NPP was positively related to annual mean air temperature in the L.gmelinii forest(P<0.001),but negatively in the P.tabulaeformis forest(P=0.05)and the Q.wutaishanica forest(P=0.03),while the relationships of modeled NPP with annual precipitation for the three forest types were all positive.Multiple stepwise regression analyses showed that temperature was a more important constraint of NPP than precipitation in the L.gmelinii forest,whereas precipitation appeared to be a prominent factor limiting the growth in P.tabulaeformis and Q.wutaishanica.Model simulations suggest marked,but differential increases in NPP across the three forest types with predicted changes in future climate.Shuai Ouyang Xiangping Wang Yulian Wu Osbert Jianxin Sun 2014Journal of Plant Ecology2014,7,3:9
16Speciation analysis of metals (Tl,Cd and Pb) in Tl-containing pyrite and its cinder from Yunfu Mine,China,by ICP-MS with sequential extraction显示文摘The speciation of heavy metals such as thallium,cadmium and lead existing in pyrite and pyrite cinder was analyzed by ICP-MS with a sequential extraction procedure.The distribution patterns of these metals including exchangeable,reducible,oxidizable and residual fractions were obtained.Tl,Cd and Pb in pyrite and pyrite cinder samples from each extraction step were determined by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS).Under the optimized instrumental conditions,detection limits of Tl,Cd and Pb in different matrices were within the range of 0.006-0.07 μg/L,and the relative standard deviations ranged from 0.8% to 1.2%.The accuracy of Tl,Cd and Pb determination was checked by analyzing two certified reference materials.The results demonstrate that trace Tl,Cd and Pb in the samples can be accurately determined.The sequential extraction results revealed that the percent contents of Tl,Cd and Pb in exchangeable,reducible and oxidizable fractions in pyrite cinder are different from those in pyrite and in pyrite cinder.Tl,Cd and Pb mostly are distributed in residual fraction.Therefore,the mobility of metals in pyrite is higher than that in pyrite cinder.Although distributions of Tl,Cd and Pb in the non-residual fraction are not dominant in pyrite cinder,the total concentrations of them could not be ignored.Consequently,attention must be paid to the risk of potential pollution by pyrite cinder.WANG Chunlin CHEN Yongheng PAN Jianyang ZHANG Ping QI Jianying LIU Juan LI Xiangping WANG Jin 2010Chinese Journal Of Geochemistry2010,29,1:9
17An Efficient and Stable Ionic Liquid System for Synthesis of Ethylene Glycol via Hydrolysis of Ethylene Carbonate显示文摘An ionic liquid system of [Bmim]X/[Bmim]OH(X Cl,BF4,and PF6,) was developed for the hydroly-sis of ethylene carbonate to ethylene glycol. The important parameters,such as the variety of ionic liquids,molar ratio of [Bmim]X to [Bmim]OH,amount of ionic liquid,molar ratio of water to ethylene carbonate,reaction tem-perature,pressure and reaction time,were investigated systematically. Excellent yield(>93%) and high selectivity(99.5%) of ethylene glycol were achieved. 18Effects of irrigation and weed-control methods on growth of weed and rice显示文摘A field experiment was conducted to study the effects of weeds control methods and an irrigation model on rice growth as well as water consumption and weed quantity in the paddy field.In conventional paddy rice production,one of the most important irrigated crops,a significant amount of irrigation water is lost due to percolation and evaporation.A new irrigation model called the Rain-Catching and Controlled Irrigation(RCCI)model has been developed as a viable water-saving technology in the production of paddy rice.In this study the performance of the RCCI model has been analyzed under mulching,hand weeding and weedy conditions in Jiangsu Province of China.The experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design(RCBD)with three replications and nine treatments.The three replicates consisted of three water management regimes:high dry high flooding(HD-HF),high dry low flooding(HD-LF),and shallow and frequent irrigation(SF)water treatment.The RCCI model was adopted in HD-HF and HD-LF while Flooding Irrigation(CFI)was adopted in SF as a control.The nine treatments were equally divided under mulching,hand weeding and weedy conditions.The lowest and maximum irrigation water delivery was 244.86 mm in mulching and 429.22 mm in hand weeding,respectively at HD-HF.And the lowest and maximum irrigation water delivery was 300.1 mm in the mulching field and 680.72 mm under hand weeding,respectively at HD-LF.The Nanjing 44 rice variety was used.It was observed that weed density and dry weight were significantly influenced by the amount of irrigation water in all the mulching,hand weeding and weedy plots.Considering yield and the number of irrigations,the RCCI model produced better results than CFI.Mulching under RCCI was an effective method to control weeds and reduce labor cost.In addition,mulching decreases the use of herbicides and the risk of pollution.On the other hand,mulching could improve yield and save water.Jacob Jeremiah Towa Guo Xiangping 2014International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2014,7,5:6
19Arbitrary polarization conversion dichroism metasurfaces for all-in-one full Poincare sphere polarizers显示文摘The control of polarization,an essential property of light,is of broad scientific and technological interest.Polarizers are indispensable optical elements for direct polarization generation.However,arbitrary polarization generation,except that of common linear and circular polarization,relies heavily on bulky optical components such as cascading linear polarizers and waveplates.Here,we present an effective strategy for designing all-in-one full Poincare sphere polarizers based on perfect arbitrary polarization conversion dichroism and implement it in a monolayer all-dielectric metasurface.This strategy allows preferential transmission and conversion of one polarization state located at an arbitrary position on the Poincare sphere to its handedness-flipped state while completely blocking its orthogonal state.In contrast to previous methods that were limited to only linear or circular polarization,our method manifests perfect dichroism of nearly 100%in theory and greater than 90%experimentally for arbitrary polarization states.By leveraging this attractive dichroism,our demonstration of the generation of polarization beams located at an arbitrary position on a Poincare sphere directly from unpolarized light can substantially extend the scope of meta-optics and dramatically promote state-of-the-art nanophotonic devices.Shuai Wang Zi-Lan Deng Yujie Wang Qingbin Zhou Xiaolei Wang Yaoyu Cao Bai-Ou Guan Shumin Xiao Xiangping Li 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,2:6
20Short-term effects of biochar and gypsum on soil hydraulic properties and sodicity in a saline-alkali soil显示文摘Salt and sodicity of saline-alkali soil adversely affect the construction of ecological landscapes and negatively impact crop production.The reclamation potential of biochar(BC,wheat straw biochar applied at\%by weight),gypsum(G,0.4%by weight),and gypsum coupled with biochar(GBC)was examined in this laboratory-based study by evaluating their effects on a saline-alkali soil(silt loam)with no amendment as a control(CK).Saline ice and fresh water(simulated rainfall)were leached through soil columns to investigate changes in salt content,sodium adsorption ratio(SAR),alkalinity,and pH of the leachate and the soil.Results showed that saturated water content and field water capacity(FWC)significantly increased by 4.4%and 5.6%,respectively,in the BC treatment after a short incubation time.Co-application of biochar and gypsum(GBC)increased soil saturated hydraulic conductivity(Ks)by 58.4%,which was also significantly higher than the sole addition.Electrical conductivity(EC)of the leachate decreased sharply after saline ice leaching;subsequent freshwater leaching accelerated the removal of the rest of the salts,irrespective of the amendment application.However,the application of gypsum(G and GB)significantly enhanced the removal of exchangeable Na^+and reduced leachate SAR.After leaching,the soil salt content decreased significantly for all treatments.The application of gypsum resulted in a significantly lower soil pH,exchangeable sodium percentage(ESP),SAR,and alkalinity values than those recorded for the CK and BC treatments.These results demonstrated that the co-application of gypsum and biochar could improve saline-alkali soil hydraulic conductivity and decrease leaching-induced sodicity over a short period.Yue ZHANG Jingsong YANG Rongjiang YAO Xiangping WANG Wenping XIE 2020Pedosphere2020,30,5:6
