2Acute cerebrovascular disease following COVID-19: a single center, retrospective, observational study显示文摘Background and purpose COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2).Apart from respiratory complications,acute cerebrovascular disease(CVD)has been observed in some patients with COVID-19.Therefore,we described the clinical characteristics,laboratory features,treatment and outcomes of CVD complicating SARS-CoV-2 infection.Materials and methods Demographic and clinical characteristics,laboratory findings,treatments and clinical outcomes were collected and analysed.Clinical characteristics and laboratory findings of patients with COVID-19 with or without new-onset CVD were compared.Results Of 219 patients with COVID-19,10(4.6%)developed acute ischaemic stroke and 1(0.5%)had intracerebral haemorrhage.COVID-19 with new onset of CVD were significantly older(75.7±10.8 years vs 52.1±15.3 years,p<0.001),more likely to present with severe COVID-19(81.8%vs 39.9%,p<0.01)and were more likely to have cardiovascular risk factors,including hypertension,diabetes and medical history of CVD(all p<0.05).In addition,they were more likely to have increased inflammatory response and hypercoagulable state as reflected in C reactive protein(51.1(1.3-127.9)vs 12.1(0.1-212.0)mg/L,p<0.05)and D-dimer(6.9(0.3-20.0)vs 0.5(0.1-20.0)mg/L,p<0.001).Of 10 patients with ischemic stroke;6 received antiplatelet treatment with aspirin or clopidogrel;and 3 of them died.The other four patients received anticoagulant treatment with enoxaparin and 2 of them died.As of 24 March 2020,six patients with CVD died(54.5%).Conclusion Acute CVD is not uncommon in COVID-19.Our findings suggest that older patients with risk factors are more likely to develop CVD.The development of CVD is an important negative prognostic factor which requires further study to identify optimal management strategy to combat the COVID-19 outbreak.Yanan Li Man Li Mengdie Wang Yifan Zhou Jiang Chang Ying Xian David Wang Ling Mao Huijuan Jin Bo Hu 2020Stroke & Vascular Neurology2020,5,3:22
3A DC Grid Benchmark Model for Studies of Interconnection of Power Systems显示文摘Reducing carbon emissions in the power sector is critical for transitioning to a sustainable and low-carbon future.Estimating carbon efficiency of demand side response(DSR)in the power system is an important step towards realizing potential environmental benefits.Marginal emission factor(MEF)is an effective tool for estimating incremental changes in carbon emissions as a result of a change in demand.However,estimation methods currently used for evaluating MEF can be improved upon,specifically,by factoring in the ramp-rate constraint of generators in the fuel cost based merit order dispatch.In this paper is described a new method for MEF assessment under ramp-rate constraints;the method is then compared with two conventional estimations in a British power system.Three fuel price scenarios are used to conduct a sensitivity analysis of MEFs to fuel prices.Conclusions are drawn that can pave the way for future improvements in estimating MEF in power systems.Ting An Xiaoxin Zhou Congda Han Yanan Wu Zhiyuan He Hui Pang Guangfu Tang 2015CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2015,1,4:17
4Effects of residual organics in municipal wastewater on hydrogenotrophic denitrifying microbial communities显示文摘Hydrogenotrophic denitrification is promising for tertiary nitrogen removal from municipal wastewater. To reveal the influence of residual organics in municipal wastewater on hydrogenotrophic denitrifiers, we adopted high-throughput 16 S r RNA gene amplicon sequencing to examine microbial communities in hydrogenotrophic denitrification enrichments. Using effluent from a municipal wastewater treatment plant as water source, COD,nitrate and p H were controlled the same except for a gradient of biodegradable carbon(i.e., primary effluent(PE), secondary effluent(SE), or combined primary and secondary effluent(CE)). Inorganic synthetic water(IW) was used as a control. Hydrogenophaga, a major facultative autotroph, accounted for 17.1%, 5.3%, 32.7% and 12.9% of the sequences in PE, CE,SE and IW, respectively, implicating that Hydrogenophaga grew well with or without organics.Thauera, which contains likely obligate autotrophic denitrifiers, appeared to be the most dominant genera(23.6%) in IW and accounted for 2.5%, 4.6% and 8.9% in PE, CE and SE,respectively. Thermomonas, which is related to heterotrophic denitrification, accounted for 4.2% and 7.9% in PE and CE fed with a higher content of labile organics, respectively.In contrast, Thermomonas was not detected in IW and accounted for only 0.6% in SE. Our results suggest that Thermomonas are more competitive than Thauera in hydrogenotrophic denitrification with biodegradable organics. 5Unscented Kalman filter for SINS alignment显示文摘In order to improve the filter accuracy for the nonlinear error model of strapdown inertial navigation system (SINS) alignment, Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) is presented for simulation with stationary base and moving base of SINS alignment. Simulation results show the superior performance of this approach when compared with classical suboptimal techniques such as extended Kalman filter in eases of large initial misalignment. 6The Coix Genome Provides Insights into Panicoideae Evolution and Papery Hull Domestication显示文摘Coix is a grass crop domesticated as early as the Neolithic era.It is still widely cultivated for both highly nutritional food and medicinal use.However,the genetic study and breeding of this crop are hindered by the lack of a sequenced genome.Here,we report de novo sequencing and assembly of the 1619-Mb genome of Coix,and annotation of 75.39%repeats and 39629 protein-coding genes.Comparative genomics analysis showed that Coix is more closely related to sorghum than maize,but intriguingly only Coix and maize had a recent genome duplication event,which was not detected in sorghum.We further constructed a genetic map and mapped several important traits,especially the strength of hull.Selection of papery hull(thin:easy dehulling)from the stony hull(thick:difficult dehulling)in wild progenitors was a key step in Coix domestication.The papery hull makes seed easier to process and germinate.Anatomic and global transcriptome analysis revealed that the papery hull is a result of inhibition of cell division and wall biogenesis.We also successfully demonstrated that seed hull pressure resistance is controlled by two major quantitative trait loci(QTLs),which are associated with hull thickness and color,respectively.The two QTLs were further fine mapped within intervals of 250 kb and 146 kb,respectively.These resources provide a platform for evolutionary studies and will facilitate molecular breeding of this important crop.Chao Guo Yanan Wang Aiguo Yang Jun He Chaowen Xiao Shanhua Lv Fengming Han Yibing Yuan Yuan Yuan Xiaolong Dong Juan Guo YawenYang-Hailan Liu Ningzhi Zuo Yaxi Hu Kangxu Zhao Zhengbo Jiang Xing Wang Tingting Jiang Yaou Sherf Moju Cao Yuan Wang Zhaobo Long Tingzhao Rong Luqi Huang Shufeng Zhou 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,2:11
7Molecular mechanisms of salinity tolerance in rice显示文摘Salinity is one of the major abiotic stresses which impose constraints to plant growth and production.Rice(Oryza sativa L.)is one of the most important staple food crops and a model monocot plant.Its production is expanding into regions that are affected by soil salinity,requiring cultivars more tolerant to saline conditions.Understanding the molecular mechanisms of such tolerance could lay a foundation for varietal improvement of salt tolerance in rice.In spite of extensive studies exploring the mechanism of salt tolerance,there has been limited progress in breeding for increased salinity tolerance.In this review,we summarize the information about the major molecular mechanisms underlying salinity tolerance in rice and further discuss the limitations in breeding for salinity tolerance.We show that numerous gene families and interaction networks are involved in the regulation of rice responses to salinity,prompting a need for a comprehensive functional analysis.We also show that most studies are based on whole-plant level analyses with only a few reports focused on tissue-and/or cell-specific gene expression.More details of salt-responsive channel and transporter activities at tissue-and cell-specific level still need to be documented before these traits can be incorporated into elite rice germplasm.Thus,future studies should focus on diversity of available genetic resources and,particular,wild rice relatives,to reincorporate salinity tolerance traits lost during domestication.Tianxiao Chen Sergey Shabala Yanan Niu Zhong-Hua Chen Lana Shabala Holger Meinke Gayatri Venkataraman Ashwani Pareek Jianlong Xu Meixue Zhou 2021The Crop Journal2021,9,3:11
8Preparation and properties of CMAS resistant bixbyite structured high-entropy oxides RE_(2)O_(3)(RE=Sm,Eu,Er,Lu,Y,and Yb):Promising environmental barrier coating materials for Al_(2)O_(3)f/Al_(2)O_(3) composites显示文摘Y_(2)O_(3) is regarded as one of the potential environmental barrier coating(EBC)materials for Al_(2)O_(3)f/Al_(2)O_(3)ceramic matrix composites owing to its high melting point and close thermal expansion coefficient to Al_(2)O_(3).However,the relatively high thermal conductivity and unsatisfactory calcium-magnesium-aluminosilicate(CMAS)resistance are the main obstacles for the practical application of Y_(2)O_(3).In order to reduce the thermal conductivity and increase the CMAS resistance,four cubic bixbyite structured high-entropy oxides RE_(2)O_(3),including(Eu_(0.2)Er_(0.2)Lu_(0.2)Y_(0.2)Yb_(0.2))2O_(3),(Sm_(0.2)Er_(0.2)Lu_(0.2)Y_(0.2)Yb_(0.2))2O_(3),(Sm_(0.2)Eu_(0.2)Er_(0.2)Y_(0.2)Yb_(0.2))2O_(3),and(Sm_(0.2)Eu_(0.2)Lu_(0.2)Y_(0.2)Yb_(0.2))2O_(3)were designed and synthesized,among which(Eu_(0.2)Er_(0.2)Lu_(0.2)Y_(0.2)Yb_(0.2))2O_(3)and(Sm_(0.2)Er_(0.2)Lu_(0.2)Y_(0.2)Yb_(0.2))2O_(3)bulks were prepared by spark plasma sintering(SPS)to investigate their mechanical and thermal properties as well as CMAS resistance.The mechanical properties of(Eu_(0.2)Er_(0.2)Lu_(0.2)Y_(0.2)Yb_(0.2))2O_(3)and(Sm_(0.2)Er_(0.2)Lu_(0.2)Y_(0.2)Yb_(0.2))2O_(3) are close to those of Y_(2)O_(3) but become more brittle than Y_(2)O_(3).The thermal conductivities of(Eu_(0.2)Er_(0.2)Lu_(0.2)Y_(0.2)Yb_(0.2))2O_(3) and(Sm_(0.2)Er_(0.2)Lu_(0.2)Y_(0.2)Yb02)2O_(3)(5.1 and 4.6 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1))are only 23.8%and 21.5%respectively of that of Y_(2)O_(3)(21.4 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1)),while their thermal expansion coefficients are close to those of Y_(2)O_(3) and A12O_(3).Most importantly,HE RE_(2)O_(3) ceramics exhibit good CMAS resistance.After being attacked by CMAS at 1350℃for 4 h,the HE RE_(2)O_(3) ceramics maintain their original morphologies without forming pores or cracks,making them promising as EBC materials for Al_(2)O_(3)f/Al_(2)O_(3) composites.Yanan SUN Huimin XIANG Fu-Zhi DAI Xiaohui WANG Yan XING Xiaojun ZHAO Yanchun ZHOU 2021Journal of Advanced Ceramics2021,10,3:10
9A New Species of the Genus Xenophrys(Amphibia: Anura: Megophryidae) from Libo County, Guizhou, China显示文摘A new species of the genus Xenophrys is described from a karst cave environment of Libo County, Guizhou Province, Southern China. The new species, Xenophrys liboensis sp. nov., is distinguished from its congeners by a combination of the following characters: 1) tympanum distinct; 2) vomerine teeth present; 3) the length of lower arm and hand larger than the half of snout-vent; 4) heels overlapped slightly when the flexed legs are held at right angles to the body axis; 5) toe tips with rudimentary webs and without grooves; 6) dermal fringes moderate; 7) tubercles on the dorsum forming an X-shaped weak ridge; 8) horn-like tubercle at the edge of the upper eyelid distinct; 9) color of the iris in life is brown. In Bayesian phylogenetic analysis of 22 species of Xenophrys, all the individuals of X. liboensis sp. nov. clustered into a monophyletic clade with high posterior probabilities. In addition, the ranges of genetic divergences of X. liboensis sp. nov. with other species were interspecific rather than intraspecific. 10Theoretical insight into the enhanced CH_4 desorption via H_2O adsorption on different rank coal surfaces显示文摘The density functional theory was used to investigate the adsorption of CH_4 and H_2O on different rank coal surfaces.The coal rank is the dominant factor in affecting the adsorption capacity of coal.In order to better understand gas and water interaction with coal of different maturity,we developed fourteen coal models to represent the different rank coal.The interactions of CH_4 and H_2O with coal surfaces were studied and characterized by their adsorption energies,Mulliken charges and electrostatic potential surfaces.The results revealed that the interaction between coal and CH_4 was weak physical adsorption,and that the interaction between coal and H_2 O consisted of physical and chemical adsorption.Adsorption energy of coal–H_2O system was larger than that of coal–CH_4 on all rank coals,suggesting that the adsorption priority in the coal models is H_2 O > CH_4.Consequently,the injection of H_2 O into the different rank coal could effectively enhance the coal bed methane(CBM) recovery.Yanan Zhou Wenjing Sun Wei Chu Xiaoqiang Liu Fangli Jing Ying Xue 2016Journal of Energy Chemistry2016,25,4:8
11Heterogeneous lamellar-edged Fe-Ni(OH)_(2)/Ni_(3)S_(2)nanoarray for efficient and stable seawater oxidation显示文摘Development of efficient non-precious catalysts for seawater electrolysis is of great significance but challenging due to the sluggish kinetics of oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and the impairment of chlorine electrochemistry at anode.Herein,we report a heterostructure of Ni_(3)S_(2)nanoarray with secondary Fe-Ni(OH)_(2)lamellar edges that exposes abundant active sites towards seawater oxidation.The resultant Fe-Ni(OH)_(2)/Ni_(3)S_(2)nanoarray works directly as a free-standing anodic electrode in alkaline artificial seawater.It only requires an overpotential of 269 mV to afford a current density of 10 mA·cm^(-2)and the Tafel slope is as low as 46 m V·dec^(-1).The 27-hour chronopotentiometry operated at high current density of 100 mA·cm^(-2)shows negligible deterioration,suggesting good stability of the Fe-Ni(OH)_(2)/Ni_(3)S_(2)@NF electrode.Faraday efficiency for oxygen evolution is up to〜95%,revealing decent selectivity of the catalyst in saline water.Such desirable catalytic performance could be benefitted from the introduction of Fe activator and the heterostructure that offers massive active and selective sites.The density functional theory(DFT)calculations indicate that the OER has lower theoretical overpotential than Cl_(2) evolution reaction in Fe sites,which is contrary to that of Ni sites.The experimental and theoretical study provides a strong support for the rational design of high-performance Fe-based electrodes for industrial seawater electrolysis.Baihua Cui Zheng Hu Chang Liu Siliang Liu Fangshuai Chen Shi Hu Jinfeng Zhang Wei Zhou Yida Deng Zhenbo Qin Zhong Wu Yanan Chen Lifeng Cui Wenbin Hu 2021Nano Research2021,14,4:7
12TGIF2 promotes the progression of lung adenocarcinoma by bridging EGFR/RAS/ERK signaling to cancer cell stemness显示文摘TGF-β-induced factor homeobox 2(TGIF2)is a transcription regulator that plays essential roles in the regulation of development and cell fate decisions.Aberrant expression of TGIF family proteins has been observed in several cancers,including ovarian,esophageal,and colorectal cancers.Here,we report that TGIF2 mediates the EGFR–RAS–ERK signaling pathway to enhance the stemness of lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD)cells and,therefore,promote the progression and metastasis of LUAD.We found that high TGIF2 expression was closely correlated with tumor growth,lymph node metastasis,and survival of patients with LUAD.Mice bearing TGIF2-silenced H1299 xenografts developed smaller tumors and fewer lung metastases.Importantly,silencing TGIF2 decreased the cancer stem cell(CSC)-like properties in A549 and H1299 cells.Furthermore,we identified that TGIF2 binding to the OCT4 promoter promotes its expression.In both LUAD cells and in vivo LUAD mouse models,we revealed that EGFR–RAS–ERK signaling phosphorylated TGIF2 and increased its stability,which was important for TGIF2-promoted LUAD stemness since phosphorylation-deficient TGIF2 mutants lost these functions.Thus,our study revealed that an important factor,TGIF2,bridges EGFR signaling to the CSC characteristics of LUAD cells,which can be utilized as an effective target for LUAD therapy.Renle Du Wenzhi Shen Yi Liu Wenjuan Gao Wei Zhou Jun Li Shuangtao Zhao Chong Chen Yanan Chen Yanhua Liu Peiqing Sun Rong Xiang Yi Shi Yunping Luo 2019Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2019,4,1:7

14Osteoblast/fibroblast coculture derived bioactive ECM with unique matrisome profile facilitates bone regeneration显示文摘Extracellular matrix(ECM)with mimetic tissue niches was attractive to facilitate tissue regeneration in situ via recruitment of endogenous cells and stimulation of self-healing process.However,how to engineer the complicate tissue specific ECM with unique matrisome in vitro was a challenge of ECM-based biomaterials in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.Here,we introduced coculture system to engineer bone mimetic ECM niche guided by cell-cell communication.In the cocultures,fibroblasts promoted osteogenic differentiation of osteoblasts via extracellular vesicles.The generated ECM(MN-ECM)displayed a unique appearance of morphology and biological components.The advantages of MN-ECM were demonstrated with promotion of multiple cellular behaviors(proliferation,adhesion and osteogenic mineralization)in vitro and bone regeneration in vivo.Moreover,proteomic analysis was used to clarify the molecular mechanism of MN-ECM,which revealed a specific matrisome signature.The present study provides a novel strategy to generate ECM with tissue mimetic niches via cell-cell communication in a coculture system,which forwards the development of tissue-bioactive ECM engineering along with deepening the understanding of ECM niches regulated by cells for bone tissue engineering.Mei Li Anqi Zhang Jiajing Li Jing Zhou Yanan Zheng Chi Zhang Dongdong Xia Haijiao Mao Jiyuan Zhao 2020Bioactive Materials2020,5,4:7

16Insight into Medicinal Chemistry Behind Traditional Chinese Medicines: p-Hydroxybenzyl Alcohol-Derived Dimers and Trimers from Gastrodia elata显示文摘From an aqueous extract of“tian ma”(the steamed and dried rhizomes of Gastrodia elata),ten new compounds gastrodiben-zins A−D(1−4)and gastrotribenzins A−F(5−10),along with known analogues(11−20),having structure features coupling between two and three p-hydroxybenzyl-derived units via carbon-and/or ether-bonds,were isolated and characterized by spectroscopic data analysis.Meanwhile,the new compounds 5a,6a,8a,22,and 23,as well as the known derivatives 13a,14a,15,17−21,24,25,and p-hydroxybenzyl aldehyde were isolated and identified from a refluxed aqueous solution of p-hydroxybenzyl alcohol.Methylation of 5a and 6a in methanol and ethylation of 6a,8a,13a,and 14a in ethanol produced 5 and 6 and 7,8,13,and 14,respectively.using ultra-performance liquid chromatography high-resolution electrospray ioniza-tion mass spectrometry(UPLC-HRESIMS)analysis of the refluxed solutions of p-hydroxybenzyl alcohol and the refluxed extracts of the fresh G.elata rhizome and“tian ma”extracts indicated consistent production and variation of the dimeric and trimeric derivatives of p-hydroxybenzyl alcohol upon extracting solvents and refluxing time.In various assays,the dimeric and trimeric derivatives showed more potent activities than p-hydroxybenzyl alcohol itself and gastrodin,which are the main known active constituents of“tian ma”.These results revealed for the first time that the more effective dimers and trimers can be produced through condensation of the co-occurring p-hydroxybenzyl alcohol during processing and decocting of the G.elata rhizomes,demonstrating insights into medicinal chemistry behind application protocols of traditional Chinese medicines.Yanan Wang Min Zhang Xue Zhou Chengbo Xu Chenggen Zhu Yuhe Yuan Naihong Chen Yongchun Yang Qinglan Guo Jiangong Shi 2021Natural Products and Bioprospecting2021,11,1:6
17Heavy mineral assemblage characteristics and the Cenozoic paleogeographic evolution in southwestern Qaidam Basin显示文摘Based on the analysis of heavy mineral assemblages in Cenozoic southwestern Qaidam Basin, we found that different areas have variable heavy mineral assemblage characteristics, which suggested that there were two source areas—the Altyn Mountains and the Qimen Tagh-East Kunlun Mountains. In Ganchaigou-Shizigou-Huatugou(Area A), which was mainly source from the Altyn Mountains, its heavy minerals were mainly composed of zircon, Ti-oxides, and wollastonite in the Paleoceneearly Eocene and mainly of unstable minerals, especially amphibole, in the middle Eocene-Oligene. Since the late OligoceneMiocene, the heavy minerals were still mainly unstable minerals, but the content of epidote increased and the content of amphibole decreased. In Qigequan-Hongliuquan(Area B), which was the mixed source from the Altyn Mountains and the Qimen Tagh-East Kunlun Mountains, its heavy minerals were mainly garnet, epidote, and amphibole. The source of LücaotanDongchaishan-Kunbei(Area C) was mainly from the Qimen Tagh-East Kunlun Mountains, heavy minerals in the sediments in Area C were mainly zircon and Ti-oxides in Paleogene and garnet, epidote, and amphibole in Neogene. In Yuejin-Youshashan(Area D), where the stable minerals and unstable minerals were present simultaneously, the heavy mineral assemblages was controlled by multi-direction source. The variation of heavy mineral assemblages in southwestern Qaidam Basin shows that Altyn Mountains was of low-lying topographic relief in Paleocene-early Eocene, and the rapid uplift of Altyn Mountains started from the middle Eocene. In Paleogene, the Altyn Tagh Fault had a slow strike-slip velocity, but the strike-slip velocity increased greatly since the late Oligocene, leading to a strike-slip displacement above 300 km since Neogene. 19Paleomagnetic results from Late Carboniferous to Early Permian rocks in the northern Qiangtang terrane, Tibet, China, and their tectonic implications显示文摘Results of a systematic paleomagnetic study are reported based on Late Carboniferous to Early Permian sedimentary rocks on the north slope of the Tanggula Mountains,in the northern Qiangtang terrane(NQT),Tibet,China.Data revealed that magnetic minerals in limestone samples from the Zarigen Formation(CP^z)are primarily composed of magnetite,while those in sandstone samples from the Nuoribagaribao Formation(Pnr)are dominated by hematite alone,or hematite and magnetite in combination.Progressive thermal,or alternating field,demagnetization allowed us to isolate a stable high temperature component(HTC)in 127 specimens from 16 sites which successfully passed the conglomerate test,consistent with primary remnance.The tilt-corrected mean direction for Late Carboniferous to Early Permian rocks in the northern Qiangtang terrane is D_s=30.2°,I_s=-40.9°,k_s=269.0,a_(95)=2.3°,N=16,which yields a corresponding paleomagnetic pole at 25.7°N,241.5°E(dp/dm=2.8°/1.7°),and a paleolatitude of 23.4°S.Our results,together with previously reported paleomagnetic data,indicate that:(1)the NQT in Tibet,China,was located at a low latitude in the southern hemisphere,and may have belonged to the northern margin of Gondwana during the Late Carboniferous to Early Permian;(2)the Paleo-Tethys Ocean was large during the Late Carboniferous to Early Permian,and(3)the NQT subsequently moved rapidly northwards,perhaps related to the fact that the Paleo-Tethys Ocean was rapidly contracting from the Late Permian to Late Triassic while the Bangong Lake-Nujiang Ocean,the northern branch of the Neo-Tethys Ocean,expanded rapidly during this time.YANG XingFeng CHENG Xin ZHOU YaNan MA Lun ZHANG XiaoDong YAN ZhaoSheng PENG XiMing SU HaiLun WU HanNing 2017Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,1:5
