2New Early Cretaceous Pterosaur-Bird Track Assemblage from Xinjiang, China:Palaeoethology and Palaeoenvironment显示文摘A pterosaur-bird track assemblage from a sandstone-siltstone-mudstone sequence of the Lower Cretaceous Tugulu Group of Xinjiang comprises the first pterosaur track record from this province and the largest specimen thus far known from China.The pterosaur tracks are assigned to the ichnogenus Pteraichnus based on the triangular overall-shape,the four elongate digit traces and the robust manual digit trace III.Supposed trackmakers were dsungaripterid pterodactyloids whose skeletal remains are well known from the Tugulu Group.The bird tracks that occur on the same surface,are those of typical shorebirds,known from different other localities in southeast Asia.The congruence with Koreanaornis dodsoni described from the same stratigraphic level justifies an assignment to this ichnospecies.This is a further evidence of the co-occurrence of pterosaurs and birds in a typical lakeshore environment with possible seasonal alteration of water supply and aerial exposure indicated by wave ripples,mudcracks and repeated cycles of coarse to fine sediment.Pterosaurs and birds frequented the shoreline and may have fed also on the numerous invertebrates such as the Scoyenia tracemaker that left abundant burrows.HE Qing XING Lida ZHANG Jianping Martin G.LOCKLEY Hendrik KLEIN W.Scott PERSONS IV QI Liqi JIA Chengkai 2013Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2013,87,6:4

4A new Early Cretaceous dinosaur track assemblage and the first definite non-avian theropod swim trackway from China显示文摘The trackway of a swimming theropod (ichnogenus Characichnos) is reported from the Lower Cretaceous Feitianshan Formation of Sichuan, China. These swim tracks help confirm that non-avian theropods were capable of forging moderately deep bodies of water. The trackway occurs on the same surface as a typical walking trackway of a sauropod (ichnogenus Brontopodus). Both occurrences are the first reported from the Cretaceous of Sichuan, and the swim tracks are the first well-preserved example of a Characichnos trackway from China. Additionally, a theropod walking trackway and several ornithopod walking trackways (similar to the ichnogenus Caririchnium) occur in the same horizon. The ornithopod trackways show a parallel orientation, suggesting gregarious behavior of the trackmakers, which may have been iguanodontiforms and/or hadrosauriforms. 5An emerging technology-wearable wireless sensor networks with applications in human health condition monitoring显示文摘Monitoring health conditions over a human body to detect anomalies is a multidisciplinary task,which involves anatomy,artificial intelligence,and sensing and computing networks.A wearable wireless sensor network(WWSN)turns into an emerging technology,which is capable of acquiring dynamic data related to a human body’s physiological conditions.The collected data can be applied to detect anomalies in a patient,so that he or she can receive an early alert about the adverse trend of the health condition,and doctors can take preventive actions accordingly.In this paper,a new WWSN for anomaly detections of health conditions has been proposed,system architecture and network has been discussed,the detecting model has been established and a set of algorithms have been developed to support the operation of the WWSN.The novelty of the detected model lies in its relevance to chronobiology.Anomalies of health conditions are contextual and assessed not only based on the time and spatial correlation of the collected data,but also based on mutual relations of the data streams from different sources of sensors.A new algorithm is proposed to identify anomalies using the following procedure:(1)collected raw data is preprocessed and transferred into a set of directed graphs to represent the correlations of data streams from different sensors;(2)the directed graphs are further analyzed to identify dissimilarities and frequency patterns;(3)health conditions are quantified by a coefficient number,which depends on the identified dissimilarities and patterns.The effectiveness and reliability of the proposed WWSN has been validated by experiments in detecting health anomalies including tachycardia,arrhythmia and myocardial infarction.Hairong Yan LiDa Xu Zhuming Bi Zhibo Pang Jie Zhang Yong Chen 2015Journal of Management Analytics2015,2,2:2

8Study of moss as air pollution monitor by SRXRF technique显示文摘In order to explore the mechanism of moss as air pollution biomonitor, the moss samples were exposed in a pollution site of Shanghai Institute of Steel Research (SISR) and a control site of Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics (SIAP) simultaneously for one month. The concentrations of trace elements in the micro areas of leaf and stem, as well as in the whole moss tissue, were determined using synchrotron radiation X-ray fluorescence (SRXRF) method. The distributions of some metal elements such as Pb, Cu, Fe, Ni, Mn, Zn, Ca and K in the leaf surface and the stem slice were obtained. The results showed that the metallic ions were not evenly distributed after adsorption. In particular, some elements of K, Ni, Fe, Pb, etc., were concentrated in the leaf apex and the intermediate rib. Under pollution condition, the excessive Pb was adsorbed and deposited in the leaf. 9Braincase Anatomy of the Basal Theropod Sinosaurus from the Early Jurassic of China显示文摘The neuroanatomy of the mid-sized theropod Sinosaurus triassicus from the Lower Jurassic Lufeng Formation, Lufeng Basin in Yunnan Province, China was studied using X-ray computed tomography. The braincase is characterized by a large supraoccipital knob that is capped by a posterior projection of the parietal and two external foramina for the caudal middle cerebral vein, which is completely enclosed by the supraoccipital. The basicranium has well defined, short basipterygoid processes that project ventral to the basal tubera. The basisphenoid is expanded, projects posteroventrally, and is pierced by four pneumatic recesses. The endocranial morphology resembles that observed in other basal theropods—in particular some allosauroids—and has a strongly marked pontine flexure and a large dorsal expansion. The inner ear morphology is also similar to that observed in other basal theropods, with slender semicircular canals. 10Tooth loss and alveolar remodeling in Sinosaurus triassicus (Dinosauria: Theropoda) from the Lower Jurassic strata of the Lufeng Basin, China显示文摘Pathological or traumatic loss of teeth often results in the resorption and remodeling of the affected alveoli in mammals. However, instances of alveolar remodeling in reptiles are rare. A remodeled alveolus in the maxilla of the Chinese theropod Sinosaurus (Lower Jurassic Lower Lufeng Formation) is the first confirmed example of such dental pathology in a dinosaur. Given the known relationship between feeding behavior and tooth damage in theropods (teeth with spalled enamel, tooth crowns embedded in bone) and the absence of dentary, maxillary, and premaxillary osteomyelitis, traumatic loss of a tooth is most likely the cause of alveolar remodeling. 17Enhanced chemoselectivity of a plant cytochrome P450 through protein engineering of surface and catalytic residues显示文摘Cytochrome P450s(P450s)are the most versatile catalysts utilized by plants to produce structurally and functionally diverse metabolites.Given the high degree of gene redundancy and challenge to functionally characterize plant P450s,protein engineering is used as a complementarystrategy to study the mechanisms of P450-mediated reactions,or to alter their functions.We previously proposed an approach of engineering plant P450s based on combining high accuracy homology models generated by Rosetta combined with data-driven design using evoluti onary information of these enzymes.With this strategy,we repurposed a multi-functional P450(CYP87D20)into a monooxygenase after red esigning its active site.Since most plant P450s are membrane-anchored proteins that are adapted to the micro-environments of plant cells,expressing them in heterologous hosts usually results in problems of expression or activity.Here,we applied compu-tational design to tackle these issues by simultaneous optimization of the protein surface and active site.After screening 17 variants,effective su bstitutions of surface residues were observed to improve both expression and activity of CYP87D20.In addition,the identified substitutions were additive and by com-bining them a highly eficient C11 hydroxylase of cucurbitadienol was created to participate in the mogrol biosynthesis.This study shows the importance of considering the interplay between surface and active site residues for P450 engineering.Our integrated strategy also opens an avenue to create more tai loring enzymes with desired functions for the metabolic engineering of high-valued compounds like mogrol,the precursor of natural sweetener mogrosides.Xiaopeng Zhang Wei Luo Yinying Yao Xuming Luo Chao Han Yang Zhong Bo Zhang Dawei Li Lida Han Sanwen Huang Per Greisen Yi Shang 2021aBIOTECH2021,2,3:1
