| 1 | The unconformity in Miocene sequence of western Qaidam Basin and its tectonic significance显示文摘An angular unconformity has been identified between the upper and the lower Youshashan Formation based on the study of the regional geology, drillhole, and geophysical data of the Altyn Tagh Mountain foreland, western Qaidam Basin. The distribution of the unconformity, the contacts between the upper and the lower Youshashan Formation, and its relation to the characteristics of the paleo-structure belts suggest a close relationship between the unconformities in the southern flank of the Altyn Tagh Mountain in the west of the Qaidam Basin and the activity of the Altyn Tagh Fault. | 2 | Discovery of low-mature hydrocarbon in manganese nodules and ooze from the Central Pacific deep sea floor显示文摘Extracts from manganese nodules and ooze from the Central Pacific deep sea floor were analyzed using the chromatogram-mass spectrum, and it was found that most of the biomarker molecules are of the low-mature type (some have characteristics of mature): the ratio of 'A'/C is high between 11.4%-19.75%; CPI is 1.22-1.23; C31-22S/ (22S+22R) hopane is 0.59-0.60, Tm/Ts is 0.99-1.99; pa moretane/(αβ+βα) hopane is 0.12-0.14; C29 sterane 20S/(20S+20R) is 0.35-0.41; ββ/(ββ+αα) is 0.38-0.45; arene TA(I)/TA(I+Ⅱ) is 0.16-0.21; methyl-phenanthrene index (MPI1) is 0.35-0.67. According to the geological settings of the sampling area and its organic geochemical characteristics, it is considered that the hydrothermal activities on the ocean floor facilitate the decomposition of organic matter in the sediment, which leads to the generation and migration of hydrocarbon into manganese nodules and ooze. | 3 | Advanced smart biomaterials and constructs for hard tissue engineering and regeneration显示文摘Hard tissue repair and regeneration cost hundreds of billions of dollars annually worldwide, and the need has substantially increased as the population has aged. Hard tissues include bone and tooth structures that contain calcium phosphate minerals.Smart biomaterial-based tissue engineering and regenerative medicine methods have the exciting potential to meet this urgent need. Smart biomaterials and constructs refer to biomaterials and constructs that possess instructive/inductive or triggering/stimulating effects on cells and tissues by engineering the material's responsiveness to internal or external stimuli or have intelligently tailored properties and functions that can promote tissue repair and regeneration. The smart material-based approaches include smart scaffolds and stem cell constructs for bone tissue engineering; smart drug delivery systems to enhance bone regeneration; smart dental resins that respond to pH to protect tooth structures; smart pH-sensitive dental materials to selectively inhibit acid-producing bacteria; smart polymers to modulate biofilm species away from a pathogenic composition and shift towards a healthy composition; and smart materials to suppress biofilms and avoid drug resistance. These smart biomaterials can not only deliver and guide stem cells to improve tissue regeneration and deliver drugs and bioactive agents with spatially and temporarily controlled releases but can also modulate/suppress biofilms and combat infections in wound sites. | 5 | Heavy mineral assemblage characteristics and the Cenozoic paleogeographic evolution in southwestern Qaidam Basin显示文摘Based on the analysis of heavy mineral assemblages in Cenozoic southwestern Qaidam Basin, we found that different areas have variable heavy mineral assemblage characteristics, which suggested that there were two source areas—the Altyn Mountains and the Qimen Tagh-East Kunlun Mountains. In Ganchaigou-Shizigou-Huatugou(Area A), which was mainly source from the Altyn Mountains, its heavy minerals were mainly composed of zircon, Ti-oxides, and wollastonite in the Paleoceneearly Eocene and mainly of unstable minerals, especially amphibole, in the middle Eocene-Oligene. Since the late OligoceneMiocene, the heavy minerals were still mainly unstable minerals, but the content of epidote increased and the content of amphibole decreased. In Qigequan-Hongliuquan(Area B), which was the mixed source from the Altyn Mountains and the Qimen Tagh-East Kunlun Mountains, its heavy minerals were mainly garnet, epidote, and amphibole. The source of LücaotanDongchaishan-Kunbei(Area C) was mainly from the Qimen Tagh-East Kunlun Mountains, heavy minerals in the sediments in Area C were mainly zircon and Ti-oxides in Paleogene and garnet, epidote, and amphibole in Neogene. In Yuejin-Youshashan(Area D), where the stable minerals and unstable minerals were present simultaneously, the heavy mineral assemblages was controlled by multi-direction source. The variation of heavy mineral assemblages in southwestern Qaidam Basin shows that Altyn Mountains was of low-lying topographic relief in Paleocene-early Eocene, and the rapid uplift of Altyn Mountains started from the middle Eocene. In Paleogene, the Altyn Tagh Fault had a slow strike-slip velocity, but the strike-slip velocity increased greatly since the late Oligocene, leading to a strike-slip displacement above 300 km since Neogene. | 8 | Development of a laser capture microscope-based single-cell-type proteomics tool for studying proteomes of individual cell layers of plant roots显示文摘Single-cell-type proteomics provides the capability to revealing the genomic and proteomics information at cell-level resolution.However,the methodology for this type of research has not been well-developed.This paper reports developing a workflow of laser capture microdissection(LCM)followed by gel-liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(GeLC-MS/MS)-based proteomics analysis for the identification of proteomes contained in individual cell layers of tomato roots.Thin-sections(~10-μm thick,10 sections per root tip)were prepared for root tips of tomato germinating seedlings.Epidermal and cortical cells(5000–7000 cells per tissue type)were isolated under a LCM microscope.Proteins were isolated and then separated by SDS–polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis followed by in-gel-tryptic digestion.The MS and MS/MS spectra generated using nanoLC-MS/MS analysis of the tryptic peptides were searched against ITAG2.4 tomato protein database to identify proteins contained in each single-cell-type sample.Based on the biological functions,proteins with proven functions in root hair development were identified in epidermal cells but not in the cortical cells.Several of these proteins were found in Al-treated roots only.The results demonstrated that the cell-type-specific proteome is relevant for tissue-specific functions in tomato roots.Increasing the coverage of proteomes and reducing the inevitable cross-contamination from adjacent cell layers,in both vertical and cross directions when cells are isolated from slides prepared using intact root tips,are the major challenges using the technology in proteomics analysis of plant roots. | Yingde Zhu Hui Li Sarabjit Bhatti Suping Zhou Yong Yang Tara Fish Theodore W Thannhauser | 2016 | Horticulture Research2016,3,1: | 2 |

| 10 | 中国南亚热带土壤易分解有机碳和水稳性团聚体对造林的响应显示文摘造林被认为可以提高土壤碳稳定性并促进土壤碳累积。然而,实验结果差异很大,造林在提高土壤碳稳定性方面的作用仍存在争议。因此,在森林生态系统中不同土壤碳库对造林如何响应目前尚不清楚。基于此,本文对亚热带地区的尾叶桉林(Eucalyptus urophylla)、厚荚相思林(Acacia crassicarpa)、红锥林(Castanopsis hystrix)、10树种混交林和自然恢复草坡等5种不同林型的土壤碳组分进行了研究,评估其不同土层(0–10、10–20、20–40和40–60 cm)中的土壤易分解有机碳(容易被高锰酸钾氧化的有机碳ROC和土壤可溶性有机碳DOC)及土壤团聚体相关的碳对造林的响应。实验结果表明,造林(与自然恢复草坡比较)和林型并没有显著影响土壤ROC浓度,而自然恢复草坡土壤的DOC浓度在4个土层中均最高。0–10 cm土层中各径级的土壤团聚体其碳(C)浓度均是红锥林最高。此外,在任一土层中,林型对不同径级土壤水稳性团聚体比例的影响均不显著。但是土壤深度显著改变土壤团聚体的分布,0–20 cm土层主要为>0.25 mm粒径的团聚体,20–60 cm土层则是0.053–2 mm粒径的团聚体占主导。这些结果显示造林和林型影响土壤DOC和团聚体C,而且它们相比于ROC对造林的响应更为敏感。研究发现,与自然恢复相比,人工林降低了土壤DOC浓度,暗示它可能会减少土壤C的淋溶损失。此外,红锥林能够通过物理保护提高表土层中土壤碳的稳定性。本研究为关注土壤碳汇功能时的中国南亚热带地区造林树种选择提供了有价值的信息。 | Yuanqi Chen Yu Zhang Shiqin Yu Feng Li Suping Liu Lixia Zhou Shenglei Fu | 2021 | Journal of Plant Ecology2021,14,2: | 2 |

| 20 | The remedial effect of soluble interleukin-1 receptor type Ⅱ on endometriosis in the nude mouse model显示文摘Objective:Recent studies have shown that the local expression of soluble interleukin(IL)-1 receptor typeⅡ (sIL-1 RⅡ)in endometrial tissue of women with endometriosis is decreased,and the depression of IL-1 RⅡwas more significant in infertile women than that in fertile women with endometriosis.In this research,we investigated the remedial effect of sIL-1-RⅡadministration on endometriosis in the nude mouse model.Methods: Nineteen nude model mice with endometriosis were randomly divided into three groups:group A was treated by intraperitoneal administration with only sIL-1 RⅡfor two weeks,group B was similarly treated with only IL- 1,and group C(control)was administered saline.After 2 weeks,the size of the ectopic endometrial lesions was calculated,and the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and B-cell lymphoma leukemia-2(Bcl- 2)were detected by immunohistochemistry.The IL-8 and VEGF levels in the peritoneal fluid(PF)and serum were also measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results:The mean size of ectopic endometrial lesion did not differ between the three groups(P>0.05).Compared with the control,the expression of VEGF and Bcl-2 was significantly lower in group A,and higher in group B.In the three groups,the levels of IL-8 in the PF and serum were highest in group A,and lowest in group B.Conclusion:sIL-1 RⅡmay suppresse hyperplasia of ectopic endometriosis,perhaps by reducing the expression of certain cytokines,such as VEGF,IL-8,and Bcl-2, which could provide a new clinical strategy for the treatment of endometriosis. | Liying Gao Liang Sun Yugui Cui Zhen Hou Li Gao Jing Zhou Yundong Mao Suping Han Jiayin Liu | 2010 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2010,24,1: | 1 |
