First dark matter search results from the PandaX-Ⅰ experiment显示文摘We report on the first dark-matter(DM)search results from PandaX-I,a low threshold dual-phase xenon experiment operating at the China JinPing Underground Laboratory. In the 37-kg liquid xenon target with 17.4 live-days of exposure,no DM particle candidate event was found. This result sets a stringent limit for low-mass DM particles and disfavors the interpretation of previously-reported positive experimental results. The minimum upper limit,3.7×10-44cm2,for the spin-independent isoscalar DM-particle-nucleon scattering cross section is obtained at a DM-particle mass of 49 GeV/c2at 90%confidence level. | XIAO MengJiao XIAO Xiang ZHAO Li CAO XiGuang CHEN Xun CHEN YunHua CUI XiangYi FANG DeQing FU ChangBo GIBONI Karl L. | 3 | Microstructures and fatigue properties of electron beam welds with beam oscillation for heavy section TC4-DT alloy显示文摘With the development of the manufacturing technology, electron beam welding(EBW) is capable of producing titanium alloy large parts in aero fields. To increase the applications and improve the properties, EBW with beam oscillation was investigated on TC4-DT alloy with50 mm thickness. We detected the welding samples by X-ray NDT, observed the microstructures of the welds, and tested the fatigue properties of the joints. The results showed that EBW with beam oscillation improved the weld morphology as well as welding quality, and the microstructure homogeneity of the welds and HAZ along the weld penetration were also improved. The fatigue properties of the joints with beam oscillation were more excellent than those of conventional EBW, even equal to those of the base metal under high stresses. The influences of the processing and the microstructure on the properties with beam oscillation were discussed. | Fu Pengfei Mao Zhiyong Zuo Congjin Wang Yajun Wang Chunming | 2014 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2014,27,4: | 8
A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. | 5 | Dark matter direct search sensitivity of the PandaX-4T experiment显示文摘The Panda X-4T experiment, a 4-ton scale dark matter direct detection experiment, is being planned at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. In this paper we present a simulation study of the expected background in this experiment. In a 2.8-ton fiducial mass and the signal region between 1-10 keV electron equivalent energy, the total electron recoil background is found to be 4.9 × 10^(-5) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). The nuclear recoil background in the same region is 2.8 × 10^(-7) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). With an exposure of 5.6 ton-years, the sensitivity of Panda X-4 T could reach a minimum spin-independent dark matter-nucleon cross section of 6 × 10^(-48) cm^2 at a dark matter mass of 40 Ge V/c^2. | HongGuang Zhang Abdusalam Abdukerim Wei Chen Xun Chen YunHua Chen XiangYi Cui BinBin Dong DeQing Fang ChangBo Fu Karl Giboni Franco Giuliani LinHui Gu XuYuan Guo ZhiFan Guo Ke Han ChangDa He ShengMing He Di Huang XingTao Huang Zhou Huang Peng Ji XiangDong Ji YongLin Ju ShaoLi Li Yao Li Heng Lin HuaXuan Liu JiangLai Liu YuGang Ma YaJun Mao KaiXiang Ni JinHua Ning XiangXiang Ren Fang Shi AnDi Tan AnQing Wang Cheng Wang HongWei Wang Meng Wang QiuHong Wang SiGuang Wang XiuLi Wang XuMing Wang Zhou Wang MengMeng Wu ShiYong Wu JingKai Xia MengJiao Xiao PengWei Xie BinBin Yan JiJun Yang Yong Yang ChunXu Yu JuMin Yuan JianFeng Yue Dan Zhang Tao Zhang Li Zhao QiBin Zheng JiFang Zhou Ning Zhou XiaoPeng Zhou | 2019 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2019,62,3: | 6

An improved evaluation of the neutron background in the PandaX-Ⅱ experiment显示文摘In dark matter direct detection experiments, neutron is a serious source of background, which can mimic the dark matter-nucleus scattering signals. In this paper,we present an improved evaluation of the neutron background in the PandaX-II dark matter experiment by a novel approach.Instead of fully relying on the Monte Carlo simulation, the overall neutron background is determined from the neutron-induced high energy signals in the data.In addition, the probability of producing a dark-matter-like background per neutron is evaluated with a complete Monte Carlo generator, where the correlated emission of neutron(s)andγ(s)in the(α,n)reactions and spontaneous fissions is taken into consideration. With this method, the neutron backgrounds in the Run 9(26-ton-day)and Run 10(28-ton-day)data sets of PandaX-II are estimated to be(0.66±0.24)and(0.47±0.25)events,respectively. | QiuHong Wang Abdusalam Abdukerim Wei Chen Xun Chen YunHua Chen XiangYi Cui YingJie Fan DeQing Fang ChangBo Fu LiSheng Geng Karl Giboni Franco Giuliani LinHui Gu XuYuan Guo Ke Han ChangDa He Di Huang Yan Huang YanLin Huang Zhou Huang Peng Ji XiangDong Ji YongLin Ju YiHui Lai Kun Liang HuaXuan Liu JiangLai Liu WenBo Ma YuGang Ma YaJun Mao Yue Meng Parinya Namwongsa KaiXiang Ni JinHua Ning XuYang Ning XiangXiang Ren ChangSong Shang Lin Si AnDi Tan AnQing Wang HongWei Wang Meng Wang SiGuang Wang XiuLi Wang Zhou Wang MengMeng Wu ShiYong Wu JingKai Xia MengJiao Xiao PengWei Xie BinBin Yan JiJun Yang Yong Yang ChunXu Yu Jumin Yuan Dan Zhang HongGuang Zhang Tao Zhang Li Zhao QiBin Zheng JiFang Zhou Ning Zhou XiaoPeng Zhou | 2020 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2020,63,3: | 0
Constraining self-interacting dark matter with the full dataset of PandaX-II显示文摘Self-interacting dark matter(SIDM)is a leading candidate proposed to solve discrepancies between predictions of the prevailing cold dark matter theory and observations of galaxies. Many SIDM models predict the existence of a light force carrier that mediates strong dark matter self-interactions.If the mediator couples to the standard model particles,it could produce characteristic signals in dark matter direct detection experiments. We report searches for signals of SIDM models with a light mediator using the full dataset of the PandaX-II experiment, basing on a total exposure of 132 tonne-days.No significant excess over background is found, and our likelihood analysis leads to a strong upper limit on the dark matter-nucleon coupling strength. We further combine the PandaX-II constraints and those from observations of the light element abundances in the early universe, and show that direct detection and cosmological probes can provide complementary constraints on dark matter models with a light mediator. | Jijun Yang Abdusalam Abdukerim Wei Chen Xun Chen Yunhua Chen Chen Cheng Xiangyi Cui Yingjie Fan Deqing Fang Changbo Fu Mengting Fu Lisheng Geng Karl Giboni Linhui Gu Xuyuan Guo Ke Han Changda He Shengming He Di Huang Yan Huang Ran Huo Yanlin Huang Zhou Huang Xiangdong Ji Yonglin Ju Shuaijie Li Qing Lin Huaxuan Liu Jianglai Liu Xiaoying Lu Wenbo Ma Yugang Ma Yajun Mao Yue Meng Nasir Shaheed Kaixiang Ni Jinhua Ning Xuyang Ning Xiangxiang Ren Changsong Shang Guofang Shen Lin Si Andi Tan Anqing Wang Hongwei Wang Meng Wang QiuHong Wang Siguang Wang Wei Wang Xiuli Wang Zhou Wang Mengmeng Wu Shiyong Wu Weihao Wu Jingkai Xia Mengjiao Xiao Xiang Xiao Pengwei Xie Binbin Yan Yong Yang Chunxu Yu Hai-Bo Yu Jumin Yuan Ying Yuan Xinning Zeng Dan Zhang Tao Zhang Li Zhao Qibin Zheng Jifang Zhou Ning Zhou Xiaopeng Zhou | 2021 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2021,64,11: | 0
Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector. Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements, such as its low-energy threshold, high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors, and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors. In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable, assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition, approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected. This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter, which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle. Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better, depending on the central value, and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment. | 12 | Influence of water and rock particle contents on the shear behaviour of a SRM显示文摘The contents of both water and rock particles are important factors affecting the mechanical strength of a soil–rock mixture(SRM)filled subgrade in the western mountainous area of China. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to study the mechanisms of reconstituted landslide deposit samples with different water and rock particle contents by analysing the characteristics of shear strength, volumetric strain and‘jumping’phenomenon via large-scale direct shear tests. The results show that the influence of water content on shear strength is greater than the influence of rock particle content under a lower normal stress, and the results are reversed in the case of a higher normal stress. The effect of water content on the equivalent cohesion is bigger, especially for the sample with a high rock particle content. The friction angle of the specimen with same water content increases with the increasing rock particle content, but when the number of rock particles increases to a certain extent, there is a little effect on the friction angle. However, the friction angle decreases with increasing water content at the same rock particle content.Specimens with the same rock particle content change from dilation to compression with increasing water content. Finally, the continuous stage of the‘intense jumping’at different water content has been analysed. The‘jumping’phenomenon of samples with low water and rock particle content will first strengthen and then weaken the samples with increasing normal stress. | Longqi Liu Xuesong Mao Yajun Xiao Tiequan Wang Menglan Nie | 2020 | Transportation Safety and Environment2020,2,1: | 0
