1Cropland redistribution to marginal lands undermines environmental sustainability显示文摘Cropland redistribution to marginal land has been reported worldwide;however,the resulting impacts on environmental sustainability have not been investigated sufficiently.Here we investigated the environmental impacts of cropland redistribution in China.As a result of urbanization-induced loss of high-quality croplands in south China(~8.5 t ha^(-1)),croplands expanded to marginal lands in northeast(~4.5 t ha^(-1)) and northwest China(~2.9 t ha^(-1)) during 1990-2015 to pursue food security.However,the reclamation in these low-yield and ecologically vulnerable zones considerably undermined local environmental sustainability,for example increasing wind erosion(+3.47%),irrigation water consumption(+34.42%),fertilizer use(+20.02%) and decreasing natural habitats(-3.11%).Forecasts show that further reclamation in marginal lands per current policies would exacerbate environmental costs by 2050.The future cropland security risk will be remarkably intensified because of the conflict between food production and environmental sustainability.Our research suggests that globally emerging reclamation of marginal lands should be restricted and crop yield boost should be encouraged for both food security and environmental benefits.Wenhui Kuang Jiyuan Liu Hanqin Tian Hao Shi Jinwei Dong Changqing Song Xiaoyong Li Guoming Du Yali Hou Dengsheng Lu Wenfeng Chi Tao Pan Shuwen Zhang Rafiq Hamdi Zherui Yin Huimin Yan Changzhen Yan Shixin Wu Rendong Li Jiuchun Yang Yinyin Dou Wenbin Wu Liqiao Liang Bao Xiang Shiqi Yang 2022National Science Review2022,9,1:13

3Recent developments in electrocatalysts and future prospects for oxygen reduction reaction in polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells显示文摘The main difficulty in the extensive commercial use of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells(PEMFCs)is the use of noble metals such as Pt-based electrocatalyst at the cathode, which is essential to ease the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) in fuel cells(FCs). To eliminate the high loading of Pt-based electrocatalysts to minimize the cost, extensive study has been carried out over the previous decades on the non-noble metal catalysts. Development in enhancing the ORR performance of FCs is mainly due to the doped carbon materials, Fe and Co-based electrocatalysts, these materials could be considered as probable substitutes for Pt-based catalysts. But the stability of these non-noble metal electrocatalysts is low and the durability of these metals remains unclear. The three basic reasons of instability are:(i) oxidative occurrence by H_2O_2,(ii) leakage of the metal site and(iii) protonation by probable anion adsorption of the active site. Whereas leakage of the metal site has been almost solved, more work is required to understand and avoid losses from oxidative attack and protonation. The ORR performance such as stability tests are usually run at low current densities and the lifetime is much shorter than desired need. Therefore,improvement in the ORR activity and stability are the key issues of the non-noble metal electrocatalyst.Based on the consequences obtained in this area, numerous future research directions are projected and discussed in this paper. 4Prevalence and treatment of hypertension in China: impacts of 2017 American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association High Blood Pressure Guideline显示文摘The definition, recommended treatment thresholds and targets of hypertension have been updated in the recent 2017 American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association(ACC/AHA) Guideline for the Prevention, Detection, Evaluation and Management of High Blood Pressure in Adults. However,the impacts of this guideline on Chinese population are currently unknown. In this study, we aim to provide updated data in China using criteria from the updated guideline. A multistage, stratified sampling method was used to obtain a representative sample of 50,171 adults aged 18 years and above.Hypertension was defined as an average systolic blood pressure !130 mm Hg, or an average diastolic blood pressure !80 mm Hg, or self-reported use of antihypertensive medications in past 2 weeks. The weighted prevalence of hypertension was 60.1%(95% confidence interval [CI] 59.3%–61.0%). The treatment rate and recommended treatment rate were 16.8%(95% CI 16.1%–17.6%) and 53.7%(95% CI52.6%–54.9%), respectively; the gap was more prominent among men and participants from rural areas.Hence, the adoption of the 2017 ACC/AHA guideline will lead to a substantial increase in both prevalence and number of patients needing treatment in China. 5First experimental constraints on WIMP couplings in the effective field theory framework from CDEX显示文摘We present weakly interacting massive particles(WIMPs) search results performed using two approaches of effective field theory from the China Dark Matter Experiment(CDEX), based on the data from both CDEX-1B and CDEX-10 stages. In the nonrelativistic effective field theory approach, both time-integrated and annual modulation analyses were used to set new limits for the coupling of WIMP-nucleon effective operators at 90% confidence level(C.L.) and improve over the current bounds in the low mχregion. In the chiral effective field theory approach, data from CDEX-10 were used to set an upper limit on WIMP-pion coupling at 90% C.L. 7EEMD and bidimensional RLS to suppress physiological interference for heterogeneous distribution in fNIRS study显示文摘Near-infrared spectroscopy(NIRS)can provide the hemodynamics information based on the hemoglobin concentration representing the blood oxygen metabolism of the cerebral cortical,which can be deployed for the cerebral function study.However,NIRS-based cerebral function detection accuracy can be signi¯cantly in°uenced by the physiological activities such as cardic cycle,respiration,spontaneous low-frequency oscillation and ultra-low frequency oscillation.The distribution difference of the capillary,artery and vein leads to the heterogeneity feature of the cerebral tissues.In the case that the heterogeneity is not serious,good detection accuracy and stable performance can be achieved through the regression analysis as the reference signal can well represent the interference in the measurement signal when conducting the multi-distance measurement approach.The direct use of the reference signal to estimate the interference is not able to achieve good performance in the case that the heterogeneity is serious.In this study,the cerebral function activity signal is extracted using recursive least square(RLS)method based on the multi-distance measurement method in which the reference signal is processed by ensemble empirical mode decomposition(EEMD)algorithm.The temporal and dimensional correlation of the neighboring sampling values are applied to estimate the interference in the measurement signal.Monte Carlo simulation based on a heterogeneous model is adopted here to investigate the effectiveness of this methodology.The results show that this methodology can effectively suppress the physiological interference and improve the detection accuracy of cerebral activity signal.Yan Zhang Dan Liu Qisong Wang Xin Liu Chunling Yang Jinwei Sun Jingyang Lu Peter Rolfe 2018Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences2018,,6:1
8Effects of Shengmai Yin(生脉饮)on pulmonary and cardiac function in coronavirus disease 2019 convalescent patients with cardiopulmonary symptoms:a randomized,double blind,multicenter control trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Shengmai Yin(生脉饮,SMY)on visual analogue scale(VAS)for cardiopulmonary symptoms in coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)convalescent patients.METHODS:In this randomized,double blind and multicenter controlled trial,a total of 200 COVID-19 convalescent patients who with cardiopulmonary symptoms were enrolled from three medical centers in Hubei,China.These patients were randomized divided into trial group and the control group,100 patients in each one,SMY and its placebo were applied to respectively,for two weeks.VAS of clinical symptoms included shortness of breath,hidrosis,chest distress,palpitation,and dry cough was performed at 0,1,2 weeks.Decrease in VAS of 30%or more was defined as effective,and a reduction in VAS of 0 was defined as curative.RESULTS:A total of 192 completed the study.The VAS of TCM symptoms showed there was no difference in baseline between the two groups.The VAS in both groups was down-regulated,and there was no significant difference in VAS and cure rates at the first and second week between the two groups.There was no significant difference in breath,hidrosis,palpitation,and dry cough between the two groups but SMY treatment for two weeks has remarkable therapeutic effects in chest distress than placebo.CONCLUSIONS:SMY could effectively ameliorate the symptoms of chest distress,and improve the quality of life of the COVID-19 convalescent patients.AN Xuedong MAO Lina XIA Ping SU Wen WANG Beibei KOU Leiya ZHANG Zequan QI Meng HU Song CHEN Jing LI Xiujuan LIU Jinwei ZHOU Juan QIAO Jie LUO Dan LUO Guangwei YAN Youqin YANG Guiping DONG Dandan ZHOU Wei TAO Junxiu JIN De TONG Xiaolin WEI Li 2023Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,1:1

10Engineering heterointerfaces coupled with oxygen vacancies in lanthanum–based hollow microspheres for synergistically enhanced oxygen electrocatalysis显示文摘The development of high–efficiency and low–cost bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts is critical to enlarge application of zinc–air batteries(ZABs). However, it still remains challenges due to their uncontrollable factor at atomic level during the catalysts preparation, which requires the precise regulation of active sites and structure engineering to accelerate the reaction kinetics for both oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction(OER). Herein, a novel Co–doped mixed lanthanum oxide and hydroxide heterostructure(termed as Co–La MOH|OV@NC) was synthesized by pyrolysis of La–MOF–NH_(2) with spontaneous cobalt doping. Synergistic coupling of its hollow structure, doping effect and abundant oxygen vacancies creates more active sites and leads to higher electroconductivity, which contribute to the better performance. As employed as a bifunctional oxygen electrocatalyst, the resulting 3 Co–La MOH|OV@NC exhibits superior electrocatalytic activity for both ORR and OER. In assembled ZAB, it also demonstrates an excellent power density of 110.5 m W cm^(-2), high specific capacity of 810 m Ah g_(Zn)^(-1), and good stability over 100 h than those of Pt/C + RuO_(2). 11Facile synthesis and enhanced catalytic activity of electrochemically dealloyed platinum–nickel nanoparticles towards formic acid electro-oxidation显示文摘To obtain the electrocatalyst with an improved electrocatalytic performance towards formic acid electrooxidation(FAEO), a simple impregnation method is used to prepare Pt3Ni nanoparticles loaded on carbon black, assisted with electrochemically dealloying process. The X-ray powder diffraction(XRD) results as well as transmission electron microscopy(TEM) analysis of as-synthesized electrocatalyst demonstrates that the reduction temperature has a great influence on the FAEO activity of the dealloyed Pt3Ni nanoparticles. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) analyses confirm the variation in the electronic structure of platinum by incorporation of nickel atoms which reduces chemisorption of toxic carbon monoxide and promotes the dehydrogenation pathway of FAEO. The size of the dealloyed Pt3Ni nanoparticles remains within the range of about 2.7 nm. All electrochemical results illustrate that the performance of the asobtained electrocatalyst towards the FAEO is significantly enhanced. 12A Survey on Adversarial Examples in Deep Learning显示文摘Adversarial examples are hot topics in the field of security in deep learning.The feature,generation methods,attack and defense methods of the adversarial examples are focuses of the current research on adversarial examples.This article explains the key technologies and theories of adversarial examples from the concept of adversarial examples,the occurrences of the adversarial examples,the attacking methods of adversarial examples.This article lists the possible reasons for the adversarial examples.This article also analyzes several typical generation methods of adversarial examples in detail:Limited-memory BFGS(L-BFGS),Fast Gradient Sign Method(FGSM),Basic Iterative Method(BIM),Iterative Least-likely Class Method(LLC),etc.Furthermore,in the perspective of the attack methods and reasons of the adversarial examples,the main defense techniques for the adversarial examples are listed:preprocessing,regularization and adversarial training method,distillation method,etc.,which application scenarios and deficiencies of different defense measures are pointed out.This article further discusses the application of adversarial examples which currently is mainly used in adversarial evaluation and adversarial training.Finally,the overall research direction of the adversarial examples is prospected to completely solve the adversarial attack problem.There are still a lot of practical and theoretical problems that need to be solved.Finding out the characteristics of the adversarial examples,giving a mathematical description of its practical application prospects,exploring the universal method of adversarial example generation and the generation mechanism of the adversarial examples are the main research directions of the adversarial examples in the future.Kai Chen Haoqi Zhu Leiming Yan Jinwei Wang 2020Journal on Big Data2020,2,2:0
13Full-field out-of-plane vibration displacement acquisition based on speckle-projection digital image correlation and its application in damage localization显示文摘Stereo-digital image correlation(Stereo-DIC)has been widely explored for modal analysis in plate-type structures due to its noncontact and full-field advantages.However,when the traditional stereo-DIC is adopted to capture the out-of-plane displacements,several challenging issues exist such as the development of surface speckles,asynchronous camera recording,and efficiency and accuracy degradation due to high computation costs.Moreover,with the captured out-of-plane displacements,effective and efficient evaluation of the high spatial resolution mode shapes and their application to damage localization are also critical problems.To tackle these issues,a speckle-projection DIC technique using a single high‐speed camera is proposed to obtain the out-of-plane vibration displacements.Moreover,an enhanced peak-picking modal analysis method is adopted to enhance the estimation accuracy and efficiency of mode shapes.In addition,the low‐rank property of mode shapes in an intact state and the spatial sparse property of damage locations are harnessed for the detection of damage positions without requiring reference data on the healthy state.Finally,the modal analysis and damage localization results based on the proposed speckle-projection DIC are compared with those of the traditional two-camera stereo-DIC technique to verify its feasibility and effectiveness.It is found that the differences in the identified resonant frequencies between these two methods are smaller than 1%for higher modes.Moreover,the proposed speckle-projection DIC has the same accuracy as the traditional two-camera stereo-DIC in terms of measurement accuracy,mode shape estimation,and damage localization.Shancheng Cao Jinwei Yan Haibo Nian Chao Xu 2022International Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics2022,2,4:0
14A large forage gap in forage availability in traditional pastoral regions in China显示文摘Forage supply has been stressed due to the rapid increase in China's livestock consumption.However,the long-term dynamics of the relationships between forage demand and multi-sourced supply are not understood.Here,we examine the annual forage demand,or practical carrying capacity(PCC),and supply,or theoretical carrying capacity(TCC)from 2000 to 2019 in China.We construct a forage supply-demand index(FSDI)to represent the forage supply pressure using MODIS-derived net primary productivity products and provincial statistical datasets,and we consider two scenarios.First,natural grasslands are the sole source of forage.Second,natural grassland forage supply is supplemented with straw crops.We find an increase in PCC in northwestern China's major pastoral and agropastoral provincial regions,including Inner Mongolia,Gansu,Ningxia and Qinghai,at rate of 0.24-3.59 million sheep units(SU)a year.As the primary source of forage,the theoretical carrying capacity of natural grasslands(TCCgrass)expanded at a rate of 3 million SU/yr nationally.Crop straws fed 126.58 million SU nationally in 2019,which accounted for 11.3%of the total practical carrying capacity and alleviated the forage supply pressure by reducing FSDI by 26.56%.During 2000–2019,the theoretical carrying capacity of straw crops(TCCcrop)increased rapidly from 76.5 million SU to 126.6 million SU,which accounted for 10%-15%of the total forage supply at the national scale.We also discovered large carrying capacity gaps(TCCgap)in the northwestern pastoral provincial regions of Inner Mongolia,Xinjiang,Gansu,and some agricultural provinces such as Shandong and Henan,when we considered forage supply from both natural grasslands and straw crops.Our findings showed a large forage gap in the traditional pastoral regions,and we also discussed green fodder as a potential solution for balancing the supply of and demand for forage,which may shed light on crop and forage planning.Tong Yang Jinwei Dong Lin Huang Yuzhe Li Huimin Yan Jun Zhai Jie Wang Zhenong Jin Geli Zhang 2023Fundamental Research2023,3,2:0

16Insight into the effect of surface carboxyl and amino groups on the adsorption of titanium dioxide for acid red G显示文摘In this study,TiO_(2)functionalized with organic groups were prepared to study the effect of carboxyl and amino groups on the adsorption behavior of TiO_(2)for the removal of acid red G(ARG)as an anionic dye from aqueous solution.TiO_(2)was successfully modified with carboxyl and amino groups by using the hydrolysis method with oxalic acid(OAD,with two carboxyl groups),ethylenediamine(EDA,with two amino groups)and DL-alanine(DLA,with one carboxyl group and one amino group)at low temperature(65℃)and labeled as OAD-TiO_(2),EDA-TiO_(2)and DLA-TiO_(2),respectively.The ARG uptake by the functionalized TiO_(2)samples was largely dependent on the functional groups.The interaction between ARG and the functional organic groups on the TiO_(2)samples plays an important role in the adsorption process,which leads to the excellent adsorption performance(higher capacity and faster adsorption rate)of the functionalized TiO_(2)samples than that of P25(commercial TiO_(2)without modification).Furthermore,there is no obvious loss of the adsorption capacity for the functionalized TiO_(2)even after 5 adsorption-desorption cycles,which indicated the good reusability of the modified TiO_(2)samples for anionic dye removal from aqueous solution.Wenlong Zhang Xuyang Zhao Lin Zhang Jinwei Zhu Shanshan Li Ping Hu Jiangtao Feng Wei Yan 2021Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2021,15,5:0
17High-order femtosecond vortices up to the 30th order generated from a powerful mode-locked Hermite-Gaussian laser显示文摘Femtosecond vortex beams are of great scientific and practical interest because of their unique phase properties in both the longitudinal and transverse modes,enabling multi-dimensional quantum control of light fields.Until now,generating femtosecond vortex beams for applications that simultaneously require ultrashort pulse duration,high power,high vortex order,and a low cost and compact laser source has been very challenging due to the limitations of available generation methods.Here,we present a compact apparatus that generates powerful high-order femtosecond vortex pulses via astigmatic mode conversion from a mode-locked Hermite-Gaussian Yb:KGW laser oscillator in a hybrid scheme using both the translation-based off-axis pumping and the angle-based non-collinear pumping techniques.This hybrid scheme enables the generation of femtosecond vortices with a continuously tunable vortex order from the 1st up to the 30th order,which is the highest order obtained from any femtosecond vortex laser source based on a mode-locked oscillator.The average powers and pulse durations of all resulting vortex pulses are several hundred milliwatts and<650 fs,respectively.In particular,424-fs 11th-order vortex pulses have been achieved with an average power of 1.6 W,several times more powerful than state-of-the-art oscillator-based femtosecond vortex sources.Hongyu Liu Lisong Yan Hongshan Chen Xin Liu Heyan Liu Soo Hoon Chew Alexander Gliserin Qing Wang Jinwei Zhang 2023Light(Science & Applications)2023,12,10:0
18Elucidating the effect of oxides on the zeolite catalyzed alkylation of benzene with 1-dodecene显示文摘In the present work, the effect of oxides on the alkylation of benzene with 1-dodecene was comprehensively investigated over MCM-49 n-heptanol, n-heptaldehyde and n-heptanoic acid were selected as the model oxides herein, and obvious decrease of lifetime could be caused by only trace amount of oxides added in the feedstocks. However, the deactivated catalysts were difficult to be regenerated by extraction with hot benzene. Additionally, coke-burning was also proved to be incapable to regenerate the deactivated catalysts mainly for the dealumination during calcination. 19The role of SLC12A family of cation-chloride cotransporters and drug discovery methodologies显示文摘The solute carrier family 12(SLC12)of cation-chloride cotransporters(CCCs)comprises potassium chloride cotransporters(KCCs,e.g.KCC1,KCC2,KCC3,and KCC4)-mediated Cl^(-)extrusion,and sodium potassium chloride cotransporters(N[K]CCs,NKCC1,NKCC2,and NCC)-mediated Cl^(-)loading.The CCCs play vital roles in cell volume regulation and ion homeostasis.Gain-of-function or loss-of-function of these ion transporters can cause diseases in many tissues.In recent years,there have been considerable advances in our understanding of CCCs'control mechanisms in cell volume regulations,with many techniques developed in studying the functions and activities of CCCs.Classic approaches to directly measure CCC activity involve assays that measure the transport of potassium substitutes through the CCCs.These techniques include the ammonium pulse technique,radioactive or nonradioactive rubidium ion uptakeassay,and thallium ion-uptake assay.CCCs'activity can also be indirectly observed by measuring gaminobutyric acid(GABA)activity with patch-clamp electrophysiology and intracellular chloride concentration with sensitive microelectrodes,radiotracer^(36)Cl^(-),and fluorescent dyes.Other techniques include directly looking at kinase regulatory sites phosphorylation,flame photometry,22Nat uptake assay,structural biology,molecular modeling,and high-throughput drug screening.This review summarizes the role of CCCs in genetic disorders and cell volume regulation,current methods applied in studying CCCs biology,and compounds developed that directly or indirectly target the CCCs for disease treatments.Shiyao Zhang Nur Farah Meor Azlan Sunday Solomon Josiah Jing Zhou Xiaoxia Zhou Lingjun Jie Yanhui Zhang Cuilian Dai Dong Liang Peifeng Li Zhengqiu Li Zhen Wang Yun Wang Ke Ding Yan Wang Jinwei Zhang 2023Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2023,13,12:0
