1A GENERAL CONSTITUTIVE RELATION FOR FATIGUE CRACK GROWTH ANALYSIS OF METAL STRUCTURES显示文摘Crack growth rate curves are the fundamental material property for metal structures under fatigue loading. Although there are many crack growth rate curves available in the literature, few of them showed the capability to explain various special phenomena observed in tests. A modified constitutive relation recently proposed by McEvily and his co-workers showed very promising capability. This modified constitutive relation is further generalized by (1) introducing an unstable fracture condition; (2) defining a virtual strength to replace the yield stress; and (3) defining an overload and underload parameter. The performances of this general constitutive relation for fatigue crack growth is extensively studied and it is found that this general constitutive relation is able to explain various phenomena observed with particular strong capability on load sequence effect.W.C. Property parameters and the procedure for producing PMC components were also given. Damping property and principle of vibration absorption of polymer mineral composite were also investigated. 3STRUCTURE FORMATION OF UNDERCOOLED Fe-30Ni ALLOY显示文摘Bulk Fe-30Ni alloy melt was nudercooled up to 337K by combining the glass fluxing technique with superheating-cooling cycle. Grain refinement at low undercoolings was observed in the experiment in addition to that at high undercoolings. The current grain refinement mechanisms were examined, and it is concluded that the refined gains are all developed from dendrites, however the grain refinement at low undercoolings is due to chemical superheating, while that at high undercoolings due to rapid solidification contruction.J.F. 4FREEZE PROFILE AND HEAT BALANCE CALCULATION OF THE 160kA DRAINED CELL显示文摘A 2D full cell thermo-electric model of 160kA drained cell was set up using finite element code to calculate its freeze profile,then the drained cell model was modified according to the freeze profile computed and its heat balance was calculated.Compared with that of a 160kA conventional Hall-Heroult cell(H-H cell),though the melts volume of the drained cell reduced greatly,the whole heat loss from it didn't drop down apparently,and an analysis was presented in the paper.On the other hand,the anodecathode distance(ACD)of a drained cell was much less than that of a H-H cell,so the voltage drop on it and heat produced decreased too,steps should be taken to keep a workable heat balance on a drained cell.X.P. 5Measurements of γ/γ' Lattice Misfit and γ' Volume Fraction for a Ru-containing Nickel-based Single Crystal Superalloy显示文摘A conventional X-ray diffractometer has been used to determine the γ/γ lattice misfit and γ volume fraction for a Ru-containing nickel-based single crystal superalloy at room temperature.The rocking curve was used to characterize the distribution of subgrains.The diffraction peaks obtained by ω-2θ scan were used to determine the γ/γ lattice misfit and γ volume fraction.A three peaks fitting model was proposed.The peak fitting results are in good agreement with the model.The X-ray diffraction results indicate that the nickel-based single crystal superalloy was not a perfect monocrystalline material,which is comprised of many subgrains;and each subgrain also consists of large numbers of mosaic structures.In addition,two anomalous reflection phenomena were found during the experiment and discussed with respect to their occurrence and impact on the measurement.The experimental results show that the γ/γ lattice misfit and γ volume fraction will be various at the different regions of its dendritic microstructure.The average γ/γ lattice misfit and γ volume fraction of the experimental alloy are approximately-0.2% and 70%,respectively.Furthermore,the γ volume fraction calculated by atom microprobe(AP) data is also basically consistent with the experimental results.X.P.
