1Distribution,Frequency and Variation of Stripe Rust Resistance Loci Yr10,Lr34/Yr18 and Yr36 in Chinese Wheat Cultivars显示文摘Wheat stripe rust is a devastating disease in many regions of the world.In wheat,49 resistance genes for stripe rust have been officially documented,but only three genes are cloned,including the race-specific resistance Yr10 candidate gene(Yr10_(CG)) and slow-rusting genes Lr34/Yr18(hereafter designated as Yr18) and Yr36.In this study,we developed gene-specific markers for these genes and used them to screen a collection of 659 wheat accessions,including 485 Chinese cultivars.Thirteen percent and eleven percent of the tested Chinese cultivars were positive for the markers for Yr10_(CG) and Yr18_(RH)(the resistant haplotype of Yr18),respectively,but none were positive for the Yr36 marker.Since there is a limited use of the Yr10 gene in Chinese wheat,the relatively high frequency of wheat varieties with the Yr10_(CG) marker suggests that the identity of the Yr10 gene is unknown.With regards to the Yr18 gene,29%of the tested cultivars that are used in the Middle and Lower Yangtze Valleys' winter wheat zone were positive for Yr18_(RH) markers.A non-functional allele of Yr18_(RH) was identified in 'Mingxian 169',a commonly used susceptible check for studying stripe rust.The data presented here will provide useful information for marker-assisted selection for wheat stripe rust resistance.Cuiling Yuan Hui Jiang Honggang Wang Kun Li Heng Tang Xianbin Li Daolin Fu 2012Journal of Genetics and Genomics2012,39,11:12
2Intrinsic apoptotic pathway and G2/M cell cycle arrest involved in tubeimoside I-induced EC109 cell death显示文摘Objective: Squamous esophageal carcinoma is highly prevalent in developing countries, especially in China. Tu Bei Mu (TBM), a traditional folk medicine, has been used to treat esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) for a long term. tubeimoside I (TBMS1) is the main component of TBM, exhibiting great anticancer potential. In this study, we investigated the mechanism of TBMS1 cytotoxic effect on EC109 cells. Methods: Comparative nuclear proteomic approach was applied in the current study and we identified several altered protein spots. Further biochemical studies were carried out to detect the mitochondrial membrane potential, cell cycle and corresponding proteins' expression and location. Results: Subcellular proteomic study in the nucleus from EC109 cells revealed that altered proteins were associated with mitochondrial function and cell proliferation. Further biochemical studies showed that TBMS1-induced molecular events were related to mitochondria-induced intrinsic apoptosis and P21-cyclin B1/cdc2 complex-related G2/M cell cycle arrest. 3Forensic Automatic Speaker Recognition Based on Likelihood Ratio Using Acoustic-phonetic Features Measured Automatically显示文摘Forensic speaker recognition is experiencing a remarkable paradigm shift in terms of the evaluation framework and presentation of voice evidence.This paper proposes a new method of forensic automatic speaker recognition using the likelihood ratio framework to quantify the strength of voice evidence.The proposed method uses a reference database to calculate the within-and between-speaker variability.Some acoustic-phonetic features are extracted automatically using the software VbiceSauce.The effectiveness of the approach was tested using two Mandarin databases:A mobile telephone database and a landline database.The experimenfs results indicate that these acoustic-phonetic features do have some discriminating potential and are worth trying in discrimination.The automatic acoustic-phonetic features have acceptable discriminative performance and can provide more reliable results in evidence analysis when fused with other kind of voice features.Huapeng Wang Cuiling Zhang 2015Journal of Forensic Science and Medicine2015,1,2:4

6Baicalin inhibits inflammation of lipopolysaccharide-induced acute lung injury via toll like receptor-4/myeloid differentiation primary response 88/nuclear factor-kappa B signaling pathway显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To explore the effect and mechanism of baicalin in the treatment of acute lung injury(ALI)by in vivo and in vitro experiments.METHODS:ALI was induced by instilling 10 mg/m L lipopolysaccharide(LPS)into the airway of rats.Different doses of baicalin(50 and 100 mg·kg^(-1)·d^(-1 ))were administered by gavage one day before modeling.RESULTS:Baicalin significantly reduced the permeability of the alveolocapillary membrane,alleviated tissue injury and inflammatory infiltration,and inhibited the secretion of inflammatory factors and the infiltration of neutrophils.The decline in these inflammations was related to the inhibition of the toll like receptor-4(TLR4)/myeloid differentiation factor 88(My D88)/nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)/nod-like receptor pyrin containing 3(NLRP3)signaling pathway and the mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)signaling pathway.CONCLUSIONS:Baicalin inhibits the secretion of inflammatory factors by inhibiting the TLR4-My D88-NF-κB/NLRP3 pathway and the MAPK signaling pathway.Thus,it reduces lung bronchial epithelial layer,alveolar damage,and pulmonary edema as detected in the in vivo and in vitro experiments.Therefore,baicalin may be a potential preventive and therapeutic drug for ALI.ZHU Changle FENG Cuiling FENG Feng Yao Xiaoqin WANG Guishu SHI Liangtian ZHENG Jiakun 2022Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2022,42,2:3
7Analyzing Population Density Disparity in China with GIS-automated Regionalization: The Hu Line Revisited显示文摘The famous ’Hu Line’, proposed by Hu Huanyong in 1935, divided China into two regions(southeast and northwest) of comparable area size but drastically different in population. However, the classic Hu Line was derived manually in absence of reliable census data and computational technologies of modern days. It has been subject to criticism of lack of scientific rigor and accuracy. This research uses a GIS-automated regionalization method, termed REDCAP(Regionalization with Dynamically Constrained Agglomerative Clustering and Partitioning), to reconstruct the demarcation line based on the 2010 county-level census data in China. The results show that the logarithmic transformation of population density is a better measure of attributive homogeneity in derived regions than density itself, and produces two regions of nearly identical area size and greater contrast in population. Specifically, the revised Hu Line by Hu Huanyong in 1990 had the southeast region with 94.4% of total population and 42.9% of total land, and our delineation line yields a southeast region with 97.4% population and 50.8% land. Therefore, the population density ratio of the two regions is 27.1 by our line, much higher than the ratio of 22.4 by the Hu Line, and thus outperforms the Hu Line in deriving regions of maximum density contrast with comparable area size. 13NAC1 regulates root ground tissue maturation by coordinating with the SCR/SHR-CYCD6;1 module in Arabidopsis显示文摘Precise spatiotemporal control of the timing and extent of asymmetric cell divisions(AcDs)is essential for plant development.In the Arabidopsis root,ground tissue maturation involves an additional AcD of the endo-dermis that maintains the inner cell layer as the endodermis and generates the middle cortex to the outside.Through regulation of the cell cycle regulator CYCLIND6;1(CYCD6;1),the transcription factors SCARECROW(SCR)and SHORT-ROOT(SHR)play critical roles in this process.In the present study,we found that loss of function of NAC1,a NAC transcription factor family gene,causes markedly increased periclinal cell divisions in the root endodermis.Importantly,NAC1 directly represses the transcription of CYCD6;1 by recruiting the co-repressor TOPLESS(TPL),creating a fine-tuned mechanism to maintain proper root ground tissue patterning by limiting production of middle cortex cells.Biochemical and genetic analyses further showed that NAC1 physically interacts with SCR and SHR to restrict excessive periclinal cell divisions in the endo-dermis during root middle cortex formation.Although NAC1-TPL is recruited to the CYCD6;1 promoter and represses its transcription in an SCR-dependent manner,NAC1 and SHR antagonize each other to regu-late the expression of CYCD6;1.Collectively,our study provides mechanistic insights into how the NAC1-TPL module integrates with the master transcriptional regulators SCR and SHR to control root ground tissue patterning by fine-tuning spatiotemporal expression of CYCD6;1 in Arabidopsis.Chuantian Xie Cuiling Li Fengxia Wang Feng Zhang Jiajia Liu Junxia Wang Xiansheng Zhang Xiangpei Kong Zhaojun Ding 2023Molecular Plant2023,16,4:1
