| 1 | Endovascular technique using a snare and suture for retrieving a migrated peripherally inserted central catheter in the left pulmonary artery显示文摘We report a successful endovascular technique using a snare with a suture for retrieving a migrated broken peripherally inserted central catheter(PICC)in a chemotherapy patient.A 62-year-old male received monthly chemotherapy through a central venous port implanted into his right subclavian area.The patient completed chemotherapy without complications 1 mo ago;however,he experienced pain in the right subclavian area during his last chemotherapy session.Computed tomography on that day showed migration of a broken PICC in his left pulmonary artery,for which the patient was admitted to our hospital.We attempted to retrieve the ectopic PICC through the right jugular vein using a gooseneck snare,but were unsuccessful because the catheter was lodged in the pulmonary artery wall.Therefore,a second attempt was made through the right femoral vein using a snare with triple loops,but we could not grasp the migrated PICC.Finally,a string was tied to thetop of the snare,allowing us to curve the snare toward the pulmonary artery by pulling the string.Finally,the catheter body was grasped and retrieved.The endovascular suture technique is occasionally extremely useful and should be considered by interventional cardiologists for retrieving migrated catheters. | Hiroki Teragawa Takashi Sueda Yuichi Fujii Hiroaki Takemoto Yasushi Toyota Shuichi Nomura Keigo Nakagawa | 2013 | World Journal of Cardiology2013，5，9： | 9 |
| 2 | Systemic gemcitabine combined with intra-arterial low-dose cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma: Seven cases显示文摘The combination of intra-arterial low-dose cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) is effective against advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Systemic gemcitabine chemotherapy seems effective in many cancers. We report the results of combination therapy with systemic gemcitabine, intra-arterial low-dose cisplatin and 5-FU (GEMFP). Seven patients with non-resectable advanced HCC were treated with GEMFP. One course of chemotherapy consisted of daily intra-arterial cisplatin (20 mg/body weight/hour on d 1, 10 mg/body weight per 0.5 h on d 2-5 and 8-12), followed by 5-FU (250 mg/body weight per 5 h on d 1-5 and 8-12) via an injection port. Gemcitabine at 1000 mg/m2 was administered intravenously at 0.5 h on d 1 and 8. The objective response was 57%. The response to GEMFP was as follows: complete response (no patients), partial response (four patients), stable disease (three patients), and progressive disease (no patients). The median survival period was 8 mo (range, 5-55). With regard to the National Cancer Institute Common Toxicity Criteria (NCI-CTC) grade 3 or 4 adverse reactions, seven (100%), seven, six (86%) and one (14%) patients developed leukopenia, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia and anemia, respectively. | 3 | Resected case of eosinophilic cholangiopathy presenting with secondary sclerosing cholangitis显示文摘Eosinophilic cholangiopathy is a rare condition characterized by eosinophilic infiltration of the biliary tract and causes sclerosing cholangitis.We report a patient with secondary sclerosing cholangitis with eosinophilic cholecystitis.A 46-year-old Japanese man was admitted to our hospital with jaundice. Computed tomography revealed dilatation of both the intrahepatic and extrahepatic bile ducts,diffuse thickening of the wall of the extrahepatic bile duct,and thickening of the gallbladder wall.Under the diagnosis of lower bile duct carcinoma,he underwent pyloruspreserving pancreatoduodenectomy and liver biopsy. On histopathological examination,conspicuous fibrosis was seen in the lower bile duct wall.In the gallbladder wall,marked eosinophilic infiltration was seen.Liver biopsy revealed mild portal fibrosis.He was diagnosed as definite eosinophilic cholecystitis with sclerosing cholangitis with unknown etiology.The possible etiology of sclerosing cholangitis was consequent fibrosis from previous eosinophilic infiltration in the bile duct.The clinicopathological findings of our case and a literature review indicated that eosinophilic cholangiopathy could cause a condition mimicking primary sclerosing cholangitis(PSC).Bile duct wall thickening in patientswith eosinophilic cholangitis might be due to fibrosis of the bile duct wall.Eosinophilic cholangiopathy might be confused as PSC with eosinophilia. | Fumihiko Miura Takehide Asano Hodaka Amano Masahiro Yoshida Naoyuki Toyota Keita Wada Kenichiro Kato Tadahiro Takada Junichi Fukushima Fukuo Kondo Hajime Takikawa | 2009 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2009，15，11： | 4 |
| 4 | Analysis on the crystals of sea ice cores derived from Weddell Sea,Antarctica显示文摘In order to understand the sea ice types and its region of origin frozen in Weddell Sea,27 ice cores were taken from Weddell Sea,Antarctica during September and October,2006.Their crystals were analyzed,and their ice forming processes were evaluated based on the crystals.Photos of the thin sections from two whole ice cores,and from polygonal granular superimposed ice were taken as well as corresponding stratigraphy descriptions.Vertical profiles of salinity, density and grain size were also obtained.Based on ice core structural texture,the findings include that: 1) although large and smooth ice floes were selected as the investigation sites, the ice sheet at the sampling position may be formed by rafted ice,consolidated ice ridges and second-year ice which were affected by dynamic and thermodynamic processes together subsequently.Ice formed in pure thermal growth comprises minority.The polygonal granular superimposed ice from refrozen wetted dense snow is one type of the ice in Antarctica.2) Of the all 27 ice cores,the granular,mixed granular-columnar and columnar crystals in sea ice occupy 28.7%,14.4% and 55.2%,respectively.3) The pure thermal growth ice is predominant in marginal sea ice zone;the rafted ice and consolidated ice ridges,even second-year ice and polygonal granular superimposed ice from dynamic and thermal effects were found in front of Larsen A Ice Shelf;the thermal growth ice froze in the polynyas of Larsen A,and was transferred outwards. | 李志军 Nicolaus Marcel Toyota Takenobu Haas Christian | 2010 | Chinese Journal of Polar Science2010，21，1： | 4 |

| 6 | Surface Activities of Calix [4]resorcinarenes Bearing Four Hydrophobic Chains and Its Solubilization for Organic Compounds显示文摘Calix resorcinarenes bearing four hydrophobic side chains ( Ar-Rn, Ar-Ph, and Ar-N) orient stably on water oil interface and show high solubilization capacities for organic compounds, such as long chain alcohols, benzene, toluene and dyes. The capacities are high even near the cmc of polyalkylated calix resorcinarenes, but the solubilities of organic compounds(solubilizates) decrease with the increase of the size of the solubilizates. Ar-R 6, with a chain length of six carbons, is the most effective among Ar-R n , Ar-Ph, and Ar-N; 11 fold mol of hexanol is dissolved in 2×10 -3 mol/L Ar-R 6. Moreover, Ar-R n bearing four alkyl side chains solubilizes the chain alcohols of the same chain length mostly. | 8 | Role of lipocalin 2 in intraventricular haemoglobin-induced brain injury显示文摘Objective:Our recent studies have shown that blood components,including haemoglobin and iron,contribute to hydrocephalus development and brain injury after intraventricular haemorrhage(IVH).The current study investigated the role of lipocalin 2(LCN2),a protein involved in iron handling,in the ventricular dilation and neuroinflammation caused by brain injury in a mouse model of IVH.Design:Female wild-type(WT)C57BL/6 mice and LCN2-deficient(LCN2^(−/−))mice had an intraventricular injection of haemoglobin,and control mice received an equivalent amount of saline.MRI was performed presurgery and postsurgery to measure ventricular volume and the brains were used for either immunohistochemistry or western blot.Results:Ventricular dilation was observed in WT mice at 24 h after haemoglobin(25 mg/mL,20µL)injection(12.5±2.4 vs 8.6±1.5 mm^(3) in the control,p<0.01).Western blotting showed that LCN2 was significantly upregulated in the periventricular area(p<0.01).LCN2 was mainly expressed in astrocytes,whereas the LCN2 receptor was detected in astrocytes,microglia/macrophages and neurons.Haemoglobin-induced ventricle dilation and glia activation were less in LCN2^(−/−)mice(p<0.01).Injection of high-dose haemoglobin(50 mg/mL)resulted in lower mortality in LCN2^(−/−)mice(27%vs 86%in WT;p<0.05).Conclusions:Intraventricular haemoglobin caused LCN2 upregulation and ventricular dilation.Haemoglobin resulted in lower mortality and less ventricular dilation in LCN2^(−/−)mice.These results suggest that LCN2 has a role in haemoglobin-induced brain injury and may be a therapeutic target for IVH. | Hajime Shishido Yasunori Toyota Ya Hua Richard F Keep Guohua Xi | 2016 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2016，1，2： | 3 |
